Sexual Healing

It starts with a smoky castoreum with a hint of citrus for zest. About 10 minutes in, it dries to a beautiful semi-sweet musk smell. I really like this fragrance because of how much it changes over time - from the balls to the wall opening to the pleasant dry down. A keeper in my book! 7/10

I must be anosmic or at least insensitive to castoreum, if that is possible. What I could smell of the opening I liked...a very animalic yet somehow dry, fleeting composition. I couldn't detect fruit at all; to my uneducated nose it was a vaguely 'diesel' aroma, which is nicer that it sounds. I think it is meant to be a subtle skin scent, and that is fine for me because I own many. However, I do like to smell the occasional whiff every now and then! Edit: I've since got my hands on a bottle and think that (for philistines such as myself) this scent requires a little patience. While I still think that it's still very much a skin scent, there's more to it than initially meets the nose. I still don't think I'd recognise castoreum even if a beaver bit me on the bum, but I now detect leather and and faint vanilla on the dry down, is that it? This perfume is very subtle, interesting and sophisticated, but sexy? Maybe on the right person.

I enjoyed this one quite a lot. The style is similar in all Mark Buxton creations - uncomromising, rebellious, rather masculine verging on harsh, yet so aromatic that a female, wild at heart, androgenous, rebellious, Coco Chanel-like and any not liking the classic femme parfumery will like this brand. Artemisia, cassis, red berries mix, labdanum - I think these I could feel around me.

Pleasant but not sexy. Strawberry castoreum, reminds me bit of shamamantul amber...in general for me not worth buying, not well structured, rather medicinal blend of oils

To houstcs: Sex (in average standardized conditions) never lasts too long. And davana give here not a sober one feeling.

I wore this scent compulsively about 10 years ago. I loved how aromatic it was to start - green and herby artemisia and cassis leaf, and the woody-fragrant osmanthus, followed by a sexier, deep woodsy, warm castoreum and labdanum drydown, with a smooth gradient change between the two. No sweetness, just warmth. I assumed the name was the labdanum/castoreum part (sexual musk) and the healing was the almost medicinal topnotes, but of course whenever I put it on, Marvin Gaye starting playing in my mind. I have to admit that I'm less blown away here in 2024, but that woodsy, smooth drydown is still comforting - like a cosy blanket. I'd like more sillage but the longevity is good. I don't think it will be in my autumn rotation this year, but I think I'd still like bring it out from time to time, when I'm in the mood for an aromatic woodsy musk. It does the "trick" LOL.

It's nothing mind blowing and the performance is pretty mediocre too. Pass

It begins quite interesting with osmanthus and berries and lasts for few minutes, then turns quite green with not really an animalic but something artificial rooty! something like a leather somehow but not really a leather & i believe it's a Labdanum. It does start well but then takes the wrong detour, it just changes into something not as good as it starts.

The red berries and labdanum create a patchouli resemblance with castoreum at the base. This is very well blended but I’m not blown away by it. With a name like “sexual healing” I was expecting more, and this, unfortunately, didn't deliver. Blue balls!

This could be more bold, it's so quiet after 10 minutes. It's a decent smell then, but way too soft even for someone that, like myself, could care less if anyone else smells me.
