Wood & Absinth

I enjoy both anice and wormwood, so I'm always a bit too much excited when I try 'absinth' themed scents. The thing with "Wood Absinth" is that it lacks something, I do get both anice and wormwood, but there is simply not enough of it, both notes sit on a very generic "fresh" base that ruins the experience for me completely. Yes in the end it is a rather pleasant light aromatic perfume, but it's clearly not enough to justify both the name and the price tag. Silage low and lasting power average - 5 to 6 hours.

This is good stuff! Yes unisex definitely, but I must say love the crisp fresh herbs in here:) Sage and citrus notes with light floral background. Anise and jasmine soften each others and blend well in here. Very pleasant daytime herbal clean floral. Give it a 5 minutes once it settles on a skin it shines; light floral drydown. Silage's good, just right. Lasts quite awhile too 6+ hours.

It's very fresh and clear in a woody, aromatic way. Clary sage and vetiver in a fresh and fiery aspect making it unisex. More on the male side, but I can wear it too, without feeling odd. It's quite aromatic and interesting. It does have that absinth edge, but it's subtle. Bees take interest in it - it smells natural. Does not radiate from my skin during a springtime walk.

Designer in drag. I'm a huge Buxton's fan but Woods & Absinth it's just an unremarkable dry woody composition overloaded with woody amber. Uninteresting, unoriginal and cheap. I'm sick of niche brands pretending we buy average department store fragrances at high-end prices. Thumbs down. Rating: 4/10

The phrase "fresh and clean" makes my skin crawl, probably because I associate it with people who make cleanliness feel like a personality trait, who turn basic hygiene into aspirational lifestyle content, who kind of make you feel like a slob just by existing. Meanwhile, I hate to shower (I do it, but I don't like a single second of it!) and generally resent having to participate in hygiene theater; the whole thing is exhausting. Wood and Absinth sidesteps this entire obnoxious charade. Saponified anise, woody-soapiness that hits the sweet spot of ease; herbal bitterness like the toothpaste I'd choose because mint grosses me out, because the sight of someone working gum in their mouth makes me want to puke, because what's wrong with breath that smells like bagels and lox anyway. This is uncomplicated, which I mean as praise—not complex, not trying to conjure memories or transport you somewhere else, just a reliable background scent for everyday wearing when I don't want to think about it, but I also want something that smells like me. Wood, water, bitter leaves; simple, straightforward ingredients that coalesce in a scent that is ....what would I call this? An unfussy staple, slightly elevated? A functional fragrance, unembellished but not boring? This is a competent perfume that might benefit from a less clunky summation, but I'm not sure if a fragrance that's merely competent deserves much more work on my part.

once again Luckyscents description is spot on, you definetely get the love/hate thing going on as they describe, I can smell all the notes in here, and its very well blended, but ultimately I just dont think this combination is what i want in a perfume, I can appreciate a good scent but it doesnt make me feel pretty or special or anything, and the absinthe makes this err towards a masculine scent more than anything.

Bitter wormwood and sandal. It's very like a good quality vetiver scent, with strong wood and that bitter note. Interesting, but mostly just woods. I don't get any of the other notes. Would probably blend beautifully with a soliflore, though.
