Saint Barts Soleil

It sprays on very fruity, but then dries into a soft coconut on me. It makes me want to be at the coast! I love it!

First warm day with temps above 60F, but the sun is very warm... Decided to give this a test... Fresh, salty, aquatic, fruity... In that order too! To me, the scent captures a whimsical vacation breeze off the ocean while walking on the boardwalk... Sun-kissed cheeks, frozen colada and salty wind blown hair... All in a very affordable, little blue bottle!!

This is one of the few coconut scents that dont smell like rubber on me. Coconut is usually awful smelling on me but not this one. It doesnt last very long though which is sad but it does project well while it lasts. Only $8 on the website right now (if you dont want to pay like $5 in shipping my Avon rep ships free).

Saint Barts Soleil smells just like a tropical drink with a little umbrella and a flower stuck in the top. It's a fun, beachy scent. Update: After awhile, I found the fruits in this to be a bit much. They took on an overripe quality on me. Nevertheless, I think that many people would enjoy it as a beach scent.

Here we have a long discontinued Avon, so I am not sure how relevant my review is, but just in case someone sees this and wonders whether it is worth a try for the adventurous... What I expected: water notes, vanilla, citrus, coconut, fruit, in that order. Since "mark." products are aimed at teenagers and college girls, I figured it would be a safe, light fruity cologne, great for hot weather and weekends, but one that smelled like all the other teenage scents today. It was cheap and seemed like a fun purchase. What I received: Well, this is a complex scent. At first, it smells like papaya, pineapple juice, and urine. No, hear me out, this is just AT FIRST. It's that musky fruit note you sometimes get from grapefruit. Terrible beginning, but experience has taught me to give perfumes a couple of hours, especially with my chemistry. Once you get past this part, SBS mellows into the smell of a coconut cake in the oven, or of toasting coconut. Not sweet. It has a Play-Doh coconut quality, but it is at this point that Ylang-ylang emerges, almost as if she had hidden in fear during the initial explosion. Coconut and Ylang-ylang hold court, but the ocean saltiness comes in after about half an hour. Still not sweet. Papaya returns with a vegetable undertone. The lingering scent includes coconut, fruit/ylang-ylang, and a salty beachy sweaty fresh air smell. Like Mary Ann on Gilligan's Island! SSB does not smell like a beautiful Riviera sun goddess. It smells like the actual beach: salt, hot sand, other people's sunscreen, tropical decay. It's so close to being unwearable that I can't stop thinking about it and smelling my arm. My favorite perfumes walk that line between strange and beautiful. SBS does not smell like perfume; it makes you smell like you just came back from the beach, and like you probably swam a lot when you were there. Definitely not boring. Just on a hunch this summer, I dabbed a little Bain de Soleil orange gelee SPF4 on top of the Saint Barts Soleil. BDS is a Ylang-ylang BOMB, and I have always adored it. Wow, it opened up a whole new scent, something truly gorgeous, like the soleil coming from behind a cloud. Another farewell to summer here.
