Opulence

It's a little reminiscent of an edgier Chanel Allure. Since I see there's no sandalwood, I'm guessing it's the vanilla smell reminding me of it. Lovely perfume but by the notes I would've thought it'd make more of a statement. Then again, I usually wear strong scents. As long as you're not expecting a sillage bomb, it's very impressive. I would've expected it to be made by a designer. It's a well made, inoffensive, everyday scent for oriental lovers. Definitely a staple in my perfume wardrobe.

I don't get any citrus notes from this, it's a soft gentle sent, like wearing a silk scarf. the vanilla and woody notes make it a little powdery. It's rich and soft. I lose the scent on myself quite quickly, however I have just put the nightdress I was wearing yesterday on and can smell this perfume it's lovely. I just wish it was stronger.

I saw Opulence on sale at Marks & Spencer yesterday, and because I previously liked its smell from the bottle, I got very interested. I tried it on my wrist to get an idea how it would smell on me. As I'd already sprayed other fumes on parts of my arms and been sniffing other scents, my first impression was not very clear, but definitely the dry-down didn't appeal to my nose. It became a bit bitter or sour or just somewhat sharp to my nose. I'm not too familiar with vetiver or at least I don't know how to identify it, so I wondered if it was that note that didn't work with my skin (or my nose). Or was it the orange making it smell sharp? I got no hint of vanilla at all, not the slightest sweetness to round out the scent even a bit. I was surprised to find it as the most prominent note on this page. I went to another M&S store again today to see if they had other scents on sale, but they only had this one too. I decided to give it another go. This time, I really liked it at first spray, fresh and pleasant to my nose. I could smell it more clearly, and I thought maybe my later impressions would change. I walked around a bit, but sadly, it still had the same dry-down to my nose. While I don't truly dislike it, somehow my nose couldn't like it as much as I had hoped, especially given the lovely opening. The perfume had a general vibe that as a child I used to associate with grown-up women's perfume, not old-lady, but too grown-up for me to enjoy. I got that vibe again with the dry-down, and though I am a grown woman now, I still found it not to my liking. It had this perfume-y smell that didn't suit me. I don't know if it's just how it reacts on my skin, my sense of smell, or maybe it's just not the type of fragrance I could get with. However, if you find the notes interesting at all, I'd say give it a try, especially since other reviewers found it quite favorable. It is probably just my personal taste. P. S. I also sprayed Opulence Oud on my other wrist, and now THAT I liked a lot! I wish it was that one on sale instead. I hope to own a bottle some day.

I agree if this fragrance was stronger it would be magnificent. I get the citrus scent in the beginning, the middle notes are bit alcohol like but the dry down is lovely, just too close to the skin.....

I smell sparkling orange and spice. The longevity is the fragrance's biggest weakness but can be reapplied every hour at the price.

To start with this was a very heady mix of orchid and vanilla, it dies down after a bit and is actually quite nice, warm and little spicy. It's not a day time fragrance though and it doesn't last very long.

Very obvious notes of ginger and artificial vanilla. I love warm scents but this is too heavy and nauseating.

Having owned lady million in the past I can say that this comes very close. The ginger is somewhat there but mainly nondescript. The vanilla smells divine, not in a gourmand way at all but in a woody undertone kinda way. Smells lovely and is very affordable! :)
