Provenance Amongst The Orange Groves

This fragrance has been around at least 2 years, perhaps longer. I bought the fragrance then from a store in Cheshire UK. The bottle I have is the same as pictured above, an EDP with " Provenance Beauty That Doesn't Cost The Earth. With notes of Orange Blossom & Jasmine" The box is cardboard; black with a picture of an orange tree. The fragrance is lovely and perfect for summer. The orange blossom and lemon blend perfectly - they are not screechy. I dont really get the mandarin orange described above, as its a definite orange blossom I can smell. When I think of mandarin I think of tangerine/satsumas which to me have a distinctive aroma. This EDP is smooth and is perfectly blended. It smells far more expensive that it is. I bought the 100ml bottle for around £15 two years ago and its one of the best perfumes released by M&S.

This is a spicy orange scent. People also claim this is a dupe for Byredo Sundazed which I have not smelled. I detect spices like cinnamon, cloves maybe even nutmeg so this is a great transition from summer to fall. I can wear this all year round. This reminds me of Woods of Windsor's Orange Spice with Cinnamon shower gel and lotion combo. It does have staying power of up to 4 hours. But as an oversprayer I do 3 sprays per wrist, crook of both elbows, back of neck and back of knees. Can actually work as a signature scent. This is both refreshing and warming at the same time. Please add the other 3 Provenance variants: Santorini Days (olive and Citrus), Under the Palm Tree (dupe for Soleil Blanc)and Calm after the Storm.

This fragrance is outstanding value. I paid £15 for 100ml edp. I can’t stop spraying it, I might have to get a back up bottle. Superb citrus, neroli and cotton candy with enough musk to give it some longevity and a sweetness that is addictive. It’s interesting that the reviewer below compared it to Sundazed, I will have to try it to compare. Edit: I tried Sundazed and it is pretty much identical!

Super bright orange scent, quite sweet but with a few little hints of spice and just the tiniest bit bitter, but bitter in a citrus zest way rather than a burnt way. Not super strong, I can spray quite a few times without other people getting a faceful of orange, which is good as I'm quite liberal in my application! I adore this fragrance, it's fantastic value and such a cheerful, sunny scent.

Absolutely beautiful. I always thought I disliked orange blossom but this has completely changed my mind. It's a sweet, honeyed, gorgeous delight all about the orange tree. Edit summer 2024- this has been repackaged and renamed by M&S and is now called Citrus Soleil, so glad as the OG had disappeared from shelves and was selling for daft amounts on eBay.

This is a stunningly well blended fragrance. It’s near identical to Byredo Sundazed and absolute steal at £7.50 for 30ml (£15 for 100ml!) Moderate longevity. I’m glad it’s under the radar...

Provenance seems to have been repackaged as citrus soleil. Not complicated, quite linear, and maybe a bit boring even. It’s a classic feminine orange blossom with a bit of candy sweetness that will take you through an ordinary summer day. Nobody will chase you down the street to ask about it. Instead it’s an easy work wear that won’t get you called into hr. Amazing value...

Such a lovely uplifting fragrance, and just perfect for summertime. Very European orange fragrance with the right amount of florals and musk to compensate. One of the best value fragrances in my collection. At first it smells more like cotton candy, then the drydown smells more fresher and pleasing. Underrated at best.

I blind bought this completely based on the notes and reviews. BUT..the opening smelt just like soap, a bad one at that. So harsh was the smell that I could almost taste it! After 15 agonizing minutes it settled down into a lovely orange blossom which vanished within the next 5 minutes. Nothing after that. I really wanted to like it, but it reminds me of a rude uncle who used to smell like that harsh soap. 😕

To me it smells like a tangerine candy. Just that. Artificial tangerine, and sugar. No flower, no orange. This is suitable as an air freshener at a kids party perhaps?

I HATE this one - on me, all I get is a blaring incense type smell that makes me gag. As another reviewer says, I wish the other Provenance perfumes would be added to Fragrantica because Calm After the Storm is my favourite - the only scent I've ever bought a second bottle of.

Provenance m&s released a scent called under the palm trees also which isn’t listed here for some reason but it’s what I’m gonna talk about.. Honestly one of my fav summer fragrances ever. It’s a very seaside scent, coconut neroli with hints of citrus and salt. Not an overly sweet scent, just a bright fresh coconut that reminds me of the beach. Shame it’s discontinued as far as I’m aware

I loved the sample of this... to me it smells like a sheer, juicer and less sickly version of love don’t be shy. Much easier to wear than the OG and it’s many sisters, but it disappeared from M&S. I was happy whe I tested the new “Citrus Soleil” and it smells like this. I think they just repackaged it! It’s fabulous!

I'd love it if Fragantica added the other three perfumes in the Provenance line as I prefer two of them, under the palm trees, and calm after the storm. This one is too musky for me
