Seasalt & Neroli

I picked this up in M&S after enjoying a sniff in there and then promptly left it on my shelf unloved. A challenge for a number randomiser to chose my fragrance landed on this one and I reluctantly picked it off my shelf of delights and gave it a spray. This was absolutely delightful and is such an amazing fragrance especially for the price. I have been able to smell this on myself all day and even a student commented when I walked into a classroom. (In a good way) I’m not sure if this is supposed to be a dupe of its pricer namesake but I’d definitely buy this again. And at £7 for 30ml (and I think £10 for 100ml) this is something I’d definitely buy again - a total hit

I really like this perfume, it's subtle and inoffensive which is perfect for going for dinner or being in the office. I definitely smell the salt, a bit of the mandarin and neroli and it is definitely musky and powdery. It's sweet, not sickly but it makes it smell quite feminine. Its definitely a fresh marine fragrance that when you spray lightly just makes you smell clean. If you spray a lot then the salty smell is a bit overpowering. It's the kind of spray you might want to have a little travel spray of on a hot day to feel refreshed. You could wear it in winter too because of the sweetness but it isn't cosy so it's more for summer.

This fragrance is like stepping out into the early morning sunshine and straight onto a beach. It's uncomplicated: clean, aquatic and uplifting. I have never met a high street fragrance I liked, but this was my absolute pick from an M&S discovery set that was gifted to me. I always have a bottle handy now. It doesn't have great longevity, but for the price point I'll happily reapply throughout the day. My friend wears CK One and I think of this as its classy, pared back, grown up sibling.

On first spray I could swear it smells like coconut. It is thick, sweet and syrupy and I agree with the person below that Sea Salt & Neroli is very similar to PR Olympea. Luckily it isn't too salty, Olympea has a note that makes my stomach churn, I suspect the ambergris, and this luckily doesn't have the same effect. It is not as strong or as long lasting as Olympea, but it is a great budget option. I love that M&S do sample packs and I will definitely be getting a bottle.

I found this while clearing and rearranging my fragrance shelves - gosh I forgot how much I liked it ! Very easy to wear, fresh and soft but with a nice edge to it. Settles to a lovely warm floral vibe. I can smell the Neroli, its gentle but it is there - mostly in the dry down. The mandarin is so pretty too, not over the top. All in all 8/10 great day time puffer.

One of my favourite budget scents. To me this is a dark sky storm incoming on a beach, sitting in a camper van wrapped in a cashmere blanket drinking earl grey tea from a flask. It’s a salty skin ocean breeze, soft floral citrus with cosy warm undertones, I love it.

I really enjoy this, but it only lasts a few hours and I do wish it gave a little more on the citrus. I tried Olympea as a long-lasting, better projecting alternative but that one is way too heavy for summer and I personally smell a synthetic 'edge' that never really goes away. This perfume has no such problem. Edit: Been thinking about this perfume six months later after getting a recent compliment on it, and thought I'd add that I find this a little difficult to wear. I bought it while on an island holiday, but since returning to the city I never really feel like it's appropriate for any particular occasion. I just wear it whenever I feel like it and it also doesn't really matter what I smell like.

I'm not a fan of overly sweet perfumes, so this one delivers. I smell more sea salt and mandarin than I do neroli, but it's perfect for summers when you need something fresh and light. It transitions well throughout the day too to settle into a salty musky skin-scent. I live in Asia so it doesn't last long and it needs to reapplied pretty often. I like to layer it with a citrusy perfume for a hit of extra freshness since I find this one to be a little too round for my tastes.

Brought a bottle off the back of some excellent press reviews who all compared it to Portofino Neroli by Tom Ford. To me these are quite different products, this is nice enough for £12, but is far more woman like and has quite a powdery smell. It’s nice for daily use but nothing like Tom Ford.

Actually quite beautiful but the sea salt can be heavy and cloying. I feel its missing something but i dont know what it is. I wont be wearing this again until next summer as I used it to kill a spider so I am a bit sick of it.

This is beautiful, I would compare it to Olympea more than wood sage and sea salt. Perfect for holidays, beach days, sunny weather

Great unisex fragrance. It lasts about three hours on my skin, but for the price, it’s a great value. 7/10

This is something of a neroli bomb - and often I've found that when neroli is combined with oceanic or spicy notes, it has a slight sweet bubblegum edge to it, which this does. In fact, a lot of purported bubblegum-not scents are upfront about the neroli or orange blossom as leading this charge. In any case, it's a very summery scent - sweet, beachy, citrus-y, salt, sea air, and neroli. It's powdery but heavy - like big heaps of white sand on a tropical beach. It's pleasant but a little cloying. I definitely wouldn't wear this in autumn or winter. Great for the price though. Decent longevity and sillage.

M&S Sea Salt & Neroli must be one of the best budget high street fragrances available. At £12.50 per 100ml it smells far better than the price tag suggests. It is slightly fruity from the mandarin and slightly floral from the Neroli. The musky base makes it deeper and more-ish. You can splurge £110 for Jo Malone Sea Salt and Wood Sage, or around £180 for Tom Ford Neroli Portofino, but for me, this is one of the best salty fragrances I have tried. Longevity is weak to moderate and sillage is moderate. This fragrance makes my perfume budget happy and I don't mind having to top it up throughout the day.

Has a very dominant yellow floral note in it, that isn't the neroli. As such it leans a bit too feminine for me and reminds me of my mum. Others might like it as it's pleasant enough. My mum even? I don't smell much/any neroli anyway, or of its there it's masked by this other floral. I'm not sure where the comparisons to TF come from. I own that and several clones and it's not close.

As with all of the M&S range, this performs more like an EDT and can pull very sour. A lot of their fragrances seem. Ice on first spray but don’t settle very well. With this particular one the salt aspect is too overpowering. At first it smells quite fresh but after a few minutes it makes the nose hurt

Smelt like dried down sweat on me. Had to wash off after fifteen minutes. :[

Really beautiful! It’s fresh and inviting and while doesn’t scream sweet or salty (apart from the initial blast), it simmers to a barely there, cute, citrusy musk. This will be perfect for vacations, clean, inoffensive and light. Perfect for spraying on clothes rather than skin on hotter days. Not in the same make up as JM - but probably the same lasting power for a fraction of the price.

This is a rather sweet perfume that to my nose really doesn't smell like Wood Sage and Sea Salt. It is far sweeter and therefore has a much thicker texture, where Jo Malone WSSS is a transparent scent with a fluffy ambrette muskiness that isn't really sweet at all (outside of the natural sweetness of musky skin!)

Someone said below this is a neroli bomb, it's certainly not. It's quite pleasant and has a floral note. If you are a fan of neroli you won't find it present here. It's a masculine leaning aquatic that's pleasant but neroli in the name is misleading
