Warmth

Absolutely excellent: clearly designed as a Santal33 dupe / killer - and despite the endless online/social media hype it's not quite there, (easy now, M&S team, steady onnnn!) - but for the ridiculously tiny price it's a steal and a done deal. Doesn't have S33's longevity or throw - or its famed/notorious 'dill pickle' tang - this goes in a direction that's woodsier, spicier, less green than brown in aura, and just ... well ... warmer (duh!). Cinnamon leaf is a lovely and clever addition and gives it extra interest - and makes me want more perfumers to add more cinnamon leaf into more upscale scents. Now, of course Warmth probably contains zero real sandalwood, of course it's going to be made of mostly bargain basement aromachemicals, and it doesn't last as long as you may wish - tends to die back after 3-4 hours on me. But it has absolutely NONE of the ugly metallic undertow of many cheapies in the drydown, and it just smells amazing - staggering really - for the money. Genuinely a favourite among literally dozens of sandalwood scents I own at all price points. It's a mass market bestseller and it fully deserves to be. Its accompanying products (body wash and lotion, even unto handwash) make for a pleasant little suite of stuff for the budget conscious, too. So, so much better than any mainstream high-street department store own brand needs to be that it deserves sincere respect.

The familiarity of this scent does nothing to reduce its appeal. It sits close to the skin, lasts through the day and has a lightness and modernity that make for an uncomplicated and enjoyable wear. The sum is very much bigger than the parts - the sandalwood that knits it all together it is hard to recognise in a soft and almost floral form rather than resinous and spicy and the cardamom and cinnamon leaf are fresh instead of a dried chai tea bag. It feels on the verge of something synthetic - alydehydic perhaps - but on balance it aligns to a more natural composition. Tempting to bathe in it at this price point, but think best worn lightly as a cloak of semi invisibility

Purchased a 50 ML for £9 absolute stunning value. First spray smells very natural. I am getting quite prominent. Dry vetiver , and very well balanced notes with a very realistic sandalwood . I had a decant of santal 33. But finished it months ago before acquiring this. Very similar but this is not as deep and potent but for the price point it is exceptional . I also own. Santal 33 DNA with intimate sillage and decent projection. I personally prefer this after a side by side comparison. The "pickle juice" element of Santal 33 has been neutered some what, at least to my nose. Longevity isn't great but for £12 a bottle you can spray more if needed. Perfect buy.

The cinnamon leaf is much harsher than the bark and it creates a rather pungent cinnamon trail, which overpowers the woods. I would use this as a layer with sweet smells to tame the cinnamon into submission. Not a scent to wear if you're feeling shy. I wore it with

Honest to god, this smells like wet celery on my skin. I don't despise it, but I would never wake up and say "today I will smell like celery". I'm happy for anyone who this works for....sure as hell isn't me lol.

All I can smell is dill pickle, so I don't wear it. This shows how differently people experience fragrances, as one reviewer says this is absent. I'm so disappointed as I love sandalwood.

Don't buy into the hype too hard! A faint watery and thin version of the woody/papery DNA aligned with S33. Cheap and fairly cheap-smelling

Stunning and seasonal and lasts forever. Very unique. A great buy for autumn without the clovey spicy notes im often sick of.
