White Coconut

Although this is called White Coconut, it is a Chypre fragrance - think citrusy and woody with a marined coconut cream. It opens VERY citrus, although I'd say more bergamot than fresh orange, with the coconut developing from a fresh throught to a toasted scent as the vanilla, amber and woods open up. Very summery. Not quite a 'suncream' like Bronze Goddess, it swoops too close to the vanilla for that, but overall a nice scent. For an actually quite complex fragrance it's almost playing dumb in the simplistic description, but that is the point of this M&S range.

This is such a great perfume for the price! I mixed it with Le Monde Gourmand’s Fraise Fouettée and it’s my new favourite layered combo. A smooth, warm coconut which stays on clothes really well. It isn’t ground breaking on its own, but if you wanted a nice spray for holiday it would be a great one to take with you. I can see myself wearing this a lot when it comes to summertime (though honestly it’s warm enough that you can wear it in the winter without it coming across as odd).

This reminds me a little bit of Alien Goddess which is probably why I like it, but it’s not a dupe. The coconut in this is very woody rather than sweet, which I love because I find a lot of artificial coconut fragrances too sickly sweet. Fresh and clean, a little soapy and salty. Quite unisex, my husband enjoys wearing it too. Longevity isn’t great but it’s around £10 for 100ml. They do an edp version now, which does last a bit longer.

On my skin this transforms into a cologne or body spray version of MP Vanilla Powder. There is citrusy coconut with a salty amber incense. It just smells so good. This is not a gourmand Vanilla but a WOODY Chypre just like Vanilla Powder. I have no idea why this smells this way on me. I get a ton of compliments and people really think it's a weak dose of MP Vanilla Powder

This smells like a beautiful beachside vacation!! When I need a reminder of an island getaway, I just need a whiff of this stuff!! In fact I brought my bottle to the beach last week, it performs quite well in hot weather.

Nice little coconut cheapie. Lasts about 2 hours. Smells similar to ariana cloud. Very nice to layer with other perfumes and carry around to spritz over longer lasting coconut scented perfumes to give it a boost

It's beautiful! It's a fresh coconut amber perfume, but not the citrusy type. It's fresh but with a warm aromas mix. I love it, but it doesn't last long...

What a beautiful perfume. I don't understand why people say it's longevity is poor. I could smell this on my shirt after 48 hours.... Just wow....

Coconut and beach scents are one of the things I can never get enough of and for the price point this is a really nice, distinctive take on the theme. It’s not a suncream or gourmand scent - opening is actually quite bitter citrusy chypre but the coconut comes through reasonably quickly and it settles to a very clean, very summery and unisex scent. Smells like the ideal of being effortless on a Mediterranean beach holiday - hair styled by seawater, linen sundress, sunkissed, wine in an ice bucket, not a trace of sweat, sunburn or seagulls - and in that respect serves as a decent dupe for Creed’s Virgin Island Water (which is imo the perfect coconut scent if not also the perfect summer scent). It doesn’t have the boozy note of the Creed, and no, it obviously isn’t as perfect, but given VIW is basically never going to be in my price range and this is £6 I’ll take it as a perfectly serviceable alternative to the same “classy seaside coconut” vibe!

It's not the typical coconut sent I was looking for - its OK. I don't love it or hate it. I detect a harsh citrus note on the first spray, and the coconut right behind it. The coconut is a very "dry" smell, not creamy or sweet. It's the coconut you get when you've smashed open the hard shell, and you can smell the hard inner shell that smells of woody coconut. The woody smell is the same smell you get when smashing open a Brazil nut. The smell of the woody coconut stays with a hint of vanilla throughout the day. It's different!

it's not really the sweet coconut most people would expect. it's quite... airy? like the smell of fresh air almost. it actually leans more masculine than i expected which i like. a good coconut androgynous perfume, which i think is rare since as i mentioned a lot of coconuts tend to run sweet and for more feminine scents. it's extremely cheap and cheerful so i can't really complain about it lasting for about 2 hours. the 30ml costs £7 after all.

Bought the discovery set, and today I'm trying white coconut. I had read that this was a dupe for sol de janeiro crush 62, which I have. And I do see similarities, its a much softer version, I don't get vanilla though. I don't think this one will make it to the full size bottle for me. It is beautiful, but I already have the crush 62. Great budget version. So far silliage is quite good.

This reminds me of Beach Walk and it’s super lovely. I think for the price of this you can’t go wrong really especially if you like a beachy scent. Don’t be fooled by the name although it’s a coconut scent it’s not a main character note and I find it well blended and totally wearable. M&S scents are well worth checking out.

Just had it delivered to me today. Nice citrusy scent. I can barely get the coconut or vanilla in it. I live in a hot climate so it works for those days when it’s so hot, I can barely breathe and don’t need any heavy fragrance.

the sillage is very weak. and the longevity is so short, gets quite soapy after a short time and also smells like a hair spray. might get overwhelming over some time

This one was a blind buy because of the reviews about the Beach Walk similarity and I regretted it. The only similarity with Beach Walk is the first spray the first 10 seconds, you can smell a nice coconut scent in the first 10 seconds, but it disappears immediately and is replaced by the smell of sticky popping candy (orange). This sticky popping candy smell doesn't change at all, drydown is very bad. I will also check this one in summer and make my decision about this scent.

Tried this from the 2ml sample from the discovery set. To me this is a dupe of beach walk on my skin. To be honest I have yet to find a coconut perfume that I really like, it is not a note that I gravitate to. To be it's ok. Smells pleasant but doesn't lift my spirits or give me an intrigue. I would recommend this for those looking for a beach walk dupe as this is so cheap.

Hoping for a White Company Seychelles dupe after to reading reviews on M&S. This is much sharper, more synthetic smelling. I can’t see this as a perfume, more like a nice dented bathroom cleaner. I actually use this as a bathroom air freshener now.

Bought as a dupe for The White Company Seychelles. I use this in the bathroom as a room spray rather than a perfume. Something slightly synthetic about it and doesn’t quite hit the mark as an actual perfume for me. My bathroom smells lovely though.

White Coconut smells like a tropical holiday booked on a budget, where the brochure promised “white sands and luxury” but you actually end up next to a screaming toddler and a man eating crisps at 9am. The opening hits like a coconut that’s been aggressively exfoliated. It’s bright, it’s creamy, it’s slightly synthetic — like someone tried to recreate a beach using only body lotion and optimism. There’s a moment where you think, “Ooh, tropical,” and then immediately, “Ooh... Tesco meal deal dessert.” As it settles, the coconut becomes thick, sweet, and suspiciously edible, like the inside of a Bounty bar that’s been left in the sun too long. It’s giving “I moisturise with coconut butter and poor decisions.” The florals? Barely there. They’re like background extras in a soap opera — technically present, but absolutely not contributing anything meaningful. They just stand behind the coconut, nodding politely. The dry down is pure coconut‐vanilla body spray energy, the kind you wore at 14 when you wanted to smell “grown up” but also like a dessert. It’s warm, it’s sweet, it’s comforting, and it absolutely smells like something you’d find in a gift set next to a loofah shaped like a starfish. Do I feel like a tropical goddess wearing it? No, it's cute and cheerful. I feel like a coconut macaroon that’s trying her best.

Hoped against hope it might be a budget marvel but unfortunately not. My experience ran the opposite way from the poster below - loved the citrus/fresh beginning when the coconut still smells mild, but liked it less and less as time wore on (and it wore on fast) - with a nasty, cheap, dryer-sheet grey musk underneath, which goes oddly metallic on me, and swells right through the rest just as the vanilla and coconut get louder and more cloying. Then the whole effect got far too sweet. So cheap to buy that it hardly matters, and worth a test if you're curious, but don't bank on this one hitting the right spot on the imaginary summer-beach shore.

This smells like coconut dry shampoo to me. Received it as part of a trio and definitely the worst of the bunch. it has become a bathroom spray but only needs a spritz or two as it quickly becomes overwhelmingly hair spray like.

This is the worst thing ive ever smelt. The only thing i smell is this very very synthetic coconut scent and a VERY strong alcohol scent. Nothing else

The top citrusy note is a no no for me. It smells very sharp and like a cheap room spray. But after few minutes I get the warm coconut vanilla scent and that's why I need big bottle. It stays close to the skin, definitely smells better and longer on my clothes. I love the warm creamy coconut and vanilla combo. To me it smells like very hot Lazy vacation day. I am definitely looking for more quality coconut and vanilla perfumes though. Edit: I had to regift this one, I don't know what happened but the coconut note makes me sick and gives me headache. The quality is not very good.

I am about to say something very different from other reviewers. I smelled it in M&S store & loved it immediately, I have decided to buy without checking the price. I am a huge fan of coconut, but many coconut scents are artificial & cloying. But this one is not, it's soothing, just like coconut milk. I sprayed on my pillow & had good sleep. The scent is warm, I think it's the amber. The citrus is not strong, I can't even notice. Maybe the citrus is the reason balancing the sweet & cloying coconut. Love it so much, this is the best coconut perfume to me.

I am a huge fan of the M&S Discovery range (my favourite being Fresh Mandarin which is unfortunately not yet listed here), but this one was a disappointment for me. I was expecting a soft coconut and vanilla fragrance, but this is predominantly citrus. The coconut is definitely there in the background, but it is overpowered by the strong citrus. To me, the citrus and coconut do not work together, and clash in a screechy way. I found it unpleasant to wear, and gave my bottle to a charity shop.

A nice cheapy day scent for the summer. You get what you pay for so don't expect it to last long. Smells like lime and coconut. Not a typical sweet/beachy coconut if thats what you are looking for. Could almost be unisex. It smells very similar to Victoria Secret Creme Cloud.

I don’t know what note it is in this that I don’t like, maybe the moss or orange? The coconut is pleasant and creamy without being too sweet, but there’s a sharpness that ruins it sadly.

Expected coconut - and get absolutely nothing - on skin or clothes. Kind of vaguely sweet water with a weakly citrus note. I really don't know if I can use this for anything

Interesting combination of a citrus and coconut note. Bought the smallest bottle in a sale so I guess I will use it this spring just for fun.

Not a fan of this on its own but layered with Tom Ford Eau de Soleil Blanc 2025 or Kayali Vanilla 28 it just enhances the coconut.

I loved this for ages and then suddenly it became so alcoholic and generic to me.

I smelled it in a shop. It's a good alternative for Creed Virgin Island Water!
