Lights Down Low

I just got my bottle and sprayed once on the back of my hand, so I'll update the performance after I get a full day's wear out of it, but I really LOVE the scent! It's a very clean, aquatic, citrusy opening, where the citrus and sea salt are present but not overpowering. The underlying amber, sandalwood, and vetiver are smoothly blended. It's really a lovely scent that leans masculine. I paid $70 for my bottle and at that price, it's an excellent buy!! Edit: I love the scent. The performance is bad on my skin. It's less than 2 hours before it's a skin scent and then it's an intimate skin scent for another hour. Even on clothes, it's a weak performer. I sprayed on my shirt around noon. By 2 pm, it was gone. I had to bury my nose in my shirt to smell it. Beautiful scent with crap performance, typical of anything from Michael Malul. I have Citizen Jack Absolute, Ginger Mist, and Ocean Noir. None are particularly good performers, despite how good they smell. At $70, it's a good buy. At the list price of $130? Forget it!

I don't get the ADG comparison. This is a Perseus if Perseus were juicy at the top and had less oakmoss in the bottom, leaving only a breezy sandalwood trail. Or it could be a L'eau D'Issey Vetiver with a lot more fruit, but it's not sticky. The rosehip gives it an aetherial, even futuristic, warmth. It will give you about 4 hours of a most beautiful ride until it becomes a skin scent after about 3 and a half hours. It will dry down to something like Mancera Midnight Gold but with more santal. Another good comparison is Orange X Santal by Essential Perfums. But, unlike those fragrances, you won't be able to stop smelling yourself and will think about reapplying often. When you refresh you will thank yourself for restarting the ride; and when it ends, you will be saddened by the fact that kind of beauty is not meant to last.

This is an amazing fragrance! Adjacent to ADG, but with a twist. The opening is very fruity but with orange and pomelo. Dries down into a crazy smooth amber. This lasted about 8 hours out the box off skin...my skin does hoard fragrances, so take that into account. This would make an excellent date night fragrance, but should work fine casually and even at work...versatility is good. The projection is very good the first hour or two, then pulls back closer to the skin. This smells red and charming...those are my quick opinions on this scent. If you can find this at a decent price, then its definitely worth checking out.

Fragrance Journal Entry #177 So right away you will be reminded of Armani ADG, this could easily be a more floral flanker. Starts off very bright and citrusy with a hint of sea salt, back up with a floral edge and dries to a clean herbacious skin scent. This is one of my favorites from the house of Michaul Malul. I wish the longevity was better but the projection is pretty decent for a couple hours, overall it's a nice smooth fresh everyday kind of masculine scent. Rating: 8.2/10 Blind Buy Safe? YES

This is my second purchase from this line and I’m very pleased. I own POP and now LDL and they both are very fresh & strong. Anyone who enjoys fresh fragrances knows it’s hard to find one with longevity without smelling linear. This is Aqua di gio edp and imagination to my nose. The stuff just jumps off the skin. It’s a no brainier in the spring and summer. Safe for blind. Nobody will hate this. Starts ADG and transitions to imagination. 9/10 scent 9/10 projection

Leans masculine at first sprays but a woman can easily wear this. The salt and citrus notes are very pronounced at first and then it warms quickly to the velvety undertones of sandalwood and Vetiver with the floral notes playing just on top. I have to agree, this is probably more of an evening scent than for day wear.

Great fragrance and the performance has been stellar. Definitely something to write home about and why this fragrance is not more popular is mind boggling to me. Michael Malul has produced some of my favorite fragrances.

It’s like aqua di gio but twisted. Very sea salty marine fragrance, has unique notes which make it stand out. Probably the best summer daily you can get for under 100 bucks on the market right now. Good performance too.

Marley Lights Down Low offers a really interesting twist on the popular marine fragrance style. Right from the first spray, you're greeted with a vibrant and salty marine opening, beautifully blended with bright, sweet citrus notes – I definitely pick up on the juicy pomelo and the zesty peel of mandarin. As the fragrance settles onto your skin, it gently transitions, revealing a lovely floral and aromatic personality. It becomes a bit softer, yet still intriguing. The real power, however, comes in the dry-down. Here, you'll find a heavy dose of sandalwood and amber at its base. Now, a quick note on that sandalwood: like many modern perfumes, this one uses a synthetic sandalwood compound. It's very diffusive, meaning it really projects and has good staying power. Overall, this scent definitely leans masculine and feels perfect for an evening out, especially a date night. It's got that confident, alluring vibe.

Sheesh I really do hate a house that teases the fragrance community with great scents THAT DON'T DO MUCH . Micheal Malul is really doing an injustice to the community. I have 41 bottles of this house and I'm just happy that I didn't pay anything close to retail . Thus is why they've finally made Ocean Noir Parfum, but I'm not gonna blind buy it like I did some of the others, because this house is robbing folks blind.Fragrance is very subjective this is just my thoughts on this particular one.

I got the discovery set, while this one is marketed more as a masculine scent, I agree with the previous review by 4keeps that a lady can definitely pull this off! Like they said, the opening initially is masculine, but it quickly dries down to a nice unisex (I dare say leaning feminine) fragrance! I actually love it, and am considering ordering a travel when I order a full size of my favorite one (which is Soul Rebel 🥰). I have 2 teenage sons and I know this will get out to use in my home if I end up changing my mind about it not being too masculine for me ☺️ but it that ends up being the case I think it would layer beautifully with my other fragrances if I wanted to "girly" it up a little more 😁
