If you know L'Eau Papier and are familiar with its "skin" type of smell, you could say Doliphor is a darker twin. Yes it is grotesque and terrifyingly intimate, and at the same time incredibly soft and light. Smells of human skin, baby's breath, first kiss, powdered cleaning solution, TV static. I felt a sense of guilt and allure when I first smelled it. Like a person you know you shouldn't love but you are fascinated by them anyway, like an intrusive thought. The real notes seem to be milk, carrot seed, aldehydes, and musk/patchouli. Very heavy on the milk and carrot seed, which is why I compare it to L'Eau Papier. I did not get the smell of cumin personally. I'm sure it's there hidden in the musk and patchouli, but not like some perfumes where people say it smells of body odor because of the cumin. For all the notes that sound like they should not go together, the balance is very elegant. The scents are not fighting with each other. The silage is severe but the longevity is below average. On skin, the sparkliness and lactonic notes fade out after a few hours, leaving a slightly plasticky smell. It bothers me because I would like to just reapply the perfume when it does not have the longevity of a work or school day. But, because of the silage, I would not spray this again in a day. It's an unfortunate dilemma. The smell is really intense on the first spray, which from the brand's bottle, you only need one - a lot comes out at once. I spray it from far away and let it air out for a little while before leaving. It lasts longer on clothes than on skin, but spraying your clothes would likely turn you into a perfumebomb (derogatory). I agree with the reviews describing Doliphor as "addicting". After wearing it over the day, I came to a bizarre realization that it also has base notes of anesthesia: sharp, penetrative, sparkly, gives the air an ice coldness which paradoxically warms your nostrils. Would others who have had full anesthesia for surgery notice the same? I asked two to smell the perfume after a few hours of wearing to determine its wearability. The first, who is young and agreeable, said it smells nice but suggested I seemed ambivalent about whether I really liked it. The second, who is older and has very conventional tastes, but never sugar coats her opinion, said "it's light, it doesn't offend me, I like it". It surprised me, but if it's any indication, 2/2 people felt it was wearable and inoffensive.

i've never had a fragrance draw out of me the visceral feeling of existential dread and raw terror this one has. i've almost forgotten that fragrance is capable of this, until the jarring grotesquerie that is doliphor infiltrated my limbic system to remind me, albeit violently. the best way i can conceptualize this, is as a biomorphic mass of decaying organic matter--damp clumps of hair, sludgy liquified tissue, with carrion maggots filling its orifices. the milk/cumin/carrot seed accord forms this harrowing image of a putrefying body afloat a filthy pond, the foul stench of milky-white insect eggs beginning to hatch and befog its transitory warmth. texturally, this is remarkably evocative for such a simple composition; lactescent and viscous like bacterial blooms on a turbid pond, and gaseous like the bloated body floating atop it doliphor is terrifying when inhaled too closely on the skin, when the cumin and carrot seed--meant to mimic body odor, become more apparent, together with the milk and musk, forming this bizarre contiguity between live warm skin and putrescence. reviewers mentioning the uncanny impression are correct. it's incredible how well the notes synthesize to simulate the experience of wearing someone else's skin (and i can go on about how i associate this scent with identity dysphoria a la buffalo bill, or the mortifying cartesian ordeal of living within an unfamiliar vessel, but i will humbly reserve that for my rambling substack); even more impressive is how doliphor captures opposing symbolism of warmth and life, death and decay--thermogenesis and thermolysis, simultaneously. truly a one of a kind experience. i'll be thinking about the psychic warfare this fragrance has inflicted upon me for a while

A few months ago, I made the mistake of buying a sample of a fragrance called First Milk, supposedly developed using "neuroscent technology." It claimed that it would wrap you up in warm hug of motherly love and evoke lost childhood memories. Instead, it smelled like a 1990s mall scent -- a childhood memory, true, but definitely not a lost or comforting one. Doliphor is what the "neuroscent" technicians behind First Milk should be studying. This scent taps straight into my oxytocin circuitry. Right after spraying it on, before I could even begin to put words to what I was smelling, my entire body had relaxed. I felt comforted and safe. Once the words started coming -- milky, musky, skin-like, pure -- the notes felt almost beside the point. This is an experience that takes you back to the beginning, before memories were formed. Back to warm milk. Your mom's skin. Your first bath as a baby. Wear this when you want your blood pressure to drop, when you need to believe the world's got your back, when you want to feel like there isn't any part of you that's broken or missing.

Oh, doliphor, where do I even begin. My emotions have changed 100 times since testing this perfume throughout the month. First it was 1. Your lover chewing on a sweet candy and then licking your hand. Then it was 2. It's summer on an island. The humidity outside is making your hair curl and frizz. You haven't changed your towel in over a week and its starting to smell musty/dewy/ and Milky with a slightly rancid sweetness from your body lotion. And then it became 3. It's summer and it's the hottest day of the year. You're twelve years old and you've been playing in the pool for most of the day. Your slightly sunburnt and dehydrated. You sit on a white plastic chair, wrapped in a towel, under the shade sipping on a juice box your grandmother gave you. Your skin smells just like this perfume. Slightly Salty and slightly chlorinated. Marlou has evoked a lot of memories with their incredibly human scents and they have been always my no. 1 perfume house. Doliphor my love ❤️ cannot wait to get a full bottle of this

ok so, this smell is actually addicting, when I first opened it I wasn't convinced at all, but then I put a drop on my wrist and couldn't stop sniffing it. it evolves a lot and it's way more complex than I expected, it's also pretty unisex, I've never had anything like it in my collection. also I feel like it has a lot of potential for layering, still need to test that more. EDIT: [Doliphor + Molecule 2 goes crazyyyyy] sillage-wise it's not one of those fragrances where you leave a trail everywhere you go, but it's not super intimate either, it's kind of like an aura, you get little whiffs of it every now and then. [also try spraying some in your hair, it works so well!!] if you want something subtle that just blends into your skin and natural musk, this is it, lasts a long time too. might be my favorite from marlou so far and the price is genuinely really fair for how good and unique it is EDIT 2: I ended up getting two bottles of it

Doliphor by Marlou “The skin we begin in” The smell of a newborn is not a single note, it’s a sacred braid of vernix, amniotic trace, and sebaceous whisper. It’s the skin’s first song, composed of lipids, proteins, and the quiet oils of protection. It beckons all, young and old alike. No hormone creates it, yet it commands surrender to infancy: oxytocin floods, dopamine hums, and the soul remembers its origin. It’s a fleeting aroma, lingering for as little as forty days before vanishing as mysteriously as it arrived. Marlou has bottled it. This is not perfume, it is the echo of birth, the olfactory memory of holding a newborn for the first time. Doliphor doesn’t wear like fragrance. It wears like skin, like presence, like the sacred residue from the place where souls originate. Doliphor by Marlou, the fragrance of newborn skin. Of unconditional surrender beckoning your inhale.

First I have a pairing rec: over top Eau Duelle or La Fonce Dalle. Spicy, lactonic and sweet skin musks. Or all three! Pretty seamless blend, and with La Fonce Dalle the black pepper really sings. This is so earthy and organic but in the way a piglet smells after rolling around in hay post-bath. This has a spicy talcum sheen I love mixed with play dough. Then there’s a sour sweet, almost curdled pull I get about 15 minutes in that lasts longer if you spray twice that smells distinctly like my childhood! I can’t place it. Maybe it’s breastmilk... Odd, singular, a little eerie, but distinctly “me”. This is the Waldorf version of all those perfumes that claim to bring out or enhance your natural scent. This is breastfed, and also really chic. You kind of don’t give a fuck if you wear this and are definitely your own.

I can’t remember the last time I was entirely impressed by a fragrance, until I sampled this. Immediately purchasing a full bottle. There is something emotionally evocative with this. It stirs up feelings. On my skin chemistry, I mainly get just the most beautiful “lived in” accord. It’s not dirty, it’s not clean, it’s honest. I completely agree with those who describe this as smelling like the top of a baby's head, but in the best way possible. This smells like the best parts of being human. Not nearly as uncanny valley as ELDO Ghost in the Shell (though I like that too). On some it may smell like you assumed the identity of a stranger, on others it will smell like you were always meant to be this. Worth sampling.

My favorite from Marlou 🥰 I discovered at Esxence. This is so beautiful. I can't wait for the release to get a full bottle. If morning sex was a perfume - this is it - sleepy, gentle, slow, tender, yet very exciting. It smells like clean but slightly sweaty female skin kissed by a milky mouth. The dry down is musky and a bit savory, with cumin and carrot seeds coming through. It is more feminine but I think it might be interesting on male skin as well. The projection is intimate, but it fits the character of fragrance, you don't want it to be loud. Marlou is a very creative brand focused on skin scents - all of their perfumes are very naughty, and carnal, but not in a loud and filthy way.
- em inglês
So trippy. I could smell it for the first few seconds - milk poured on top of warm, starchy flour but after that it stopped registering, like my brain just accepted that this is what my skin smells like now. First perfume ive tried that im partially anosmic to, but i did get whiffs of it that i enjoyed a lot. It is like skin put under a microscope but also strangely comforting and nostalgic. Neither clean nor dirty, just very human. It creates an instant sense of intimacy. More platonic and familiar than sexual, like sharing your space with a loved one who feels like home.

I would have fallen in love with this way more than I did, had I not bought Les Cahiers Secrets by Jouissance first. The cumin note in Doliphor is very muted by comparison, which gives Les Cahiers Secrets the extra edge, in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, Doliphor is beautiful! It is a lot cleaner than I was anticipating from this brand. It also doesn't last very long on my skin, either, which is a shame. If you are looking for a clean, skin-like milky musk, then Doliphor is your gal. However, if you are looking for raunchy sex musk, go for Les Cahiers Secrets instead.

Doliphor evokes an enormous old metal syringe loaded with warm milk. It's so elusive and does not project at all but I'm in love with what I am able to get. There is a clean stainless steel-esque opening note that I was not expecting. A beautiful introduction. The rest is this frothy, sweet skin smelling lactonic blend. There is a bit of a hay or dry grass aromatic. Really stunning over all. Very unique in my collection. Though I wish this screamed. I'd consider a FB just to see if I could get this to last or at least drown myself with it.
- em inglês
A dirty but delicate skin scent with that intimate, scalpy costus note that I love.... When my sample was new it smelled very maternal/nursing baby, the milkiness was so strong, but now it's a very soft, creamy glow. It becomes drier and a lil starchy just before fading after a few hours. Doliphor and Heliodose are lovely new releases. Moon and Sun in theme and feel.... Compared to Marlou's older scents, both feel closer to Poudrextase in heaviness and skank.
- em inglês
This is stunning. When I first tried it, I was somewhat disgusted with the intense cumin note mixed with the lactones. Doliphor is a very visceral perfume, true to Marlou’s signature. It dries down to the most beautiful unwashed scalp scent that lasts and lasts. Hints of hay and jasmine, but mostly skin and, yes, the impression of flour. Creamy, sensual, and gently sweet. Reminds me of how a newborn baby would smell. My favorite of the Marlou line!
- em inglês
Skin but intensely sexy. It’s also really innocent at the same time, that powdery smell is like a kitten’s head. It made me laugh out loud the first time I smelled it on my arm. Also brings to mind a linen dress splashed with sea water, angel food cake, slightly spoiled and soaked in the milk of any animal, a freshly washed pillowcase slept on for one sweaty night. I can’t stop smelling it.
- em inglês
This smell like human skin, of someone you love and are fond of, after they just showered. It's kinda freaking me out how much this smells like skin. It's very liminal space, uncanny valley. But also, I love it. But also -- I could see myself getting fatigued from this, in a similar way that too much of a rich and delicious thing can be off-putting.
- em inglês
It smells like a baby or toddler who has just had a bath; it is milky and clean, with a light floral scent and a hint of sweetness. I never had a perfume melt my heart like this because of how soft and warm it feels. I don't know whether I will buy this as a perfume, but I will definitely keep the sample and smell it once in a while.
- em inglês
Experiencing double vision when healthy and sober. Hearing an echo of my own footsteps. Feeling comfortable in my skin and whosever skin this is. Cool, milky moonlight. Eerily lovable. PS: Turning my pillow over to its cool side in the middle of a hot, sweaty night, having just changed the sheets that evening.
- em inglês
This is so baby. I keep smelling my wrist and smiling because this is so cute! Soft and clean but not powdery. I don't get the cumin at all, just this interesting milky skin musk. So comforting and lovely, reminds me of the Raphael cherub paintings. Wears close to the skin, its intimate, familiar, and tender.
- em inglês
This scent feels so warm and nostalgic, makes me think of a moment after a shower during a hot summer, a just-used towel from an antique linen drawer. Really brings me back to childhood. Instant favourite from a sample, has become my daily go-to.
- em inglês
Ok i think this is my favorite one in this brand! I really like it... But it is not Strong at all, they need to put their nose in to your skin if they want to smell it .. kind a smells like a Turkish Delight/Lokhoum ...
- em inglês
This is really special. One of the most realistic milk notes I've smelled, not just the usual powdery sweet lactonic vanilla. It's just milk and soft skin, in a way that is not as weird as those notes should be.
- em inglês
Beautiful balance of clean and dirty, sexy and innocent, interesting and neutral. It smells like a lovers hair and scalp, someone else’s skin, a bowl a cereal after morning sex. Super hot but also inoffensive.
- em inglês
What a masterpiece. Such a gorgeous soft scent. Kind of reminds me of the smell of a new baby. It’s so milky and ethereal. But it’s still so unique.
- em inglês
I can barely smell it but the little I can get is good. It’s like a damp towel but in a good, clean way. A quieter and softer TBS White Musk.
- em inglês
Love this. The second I put it on I thought, "this smells like me". Dried down to be super creamy and almost dusty..
- em inglês
The ultimate skin scent! It sits close to the skin and it smells like skin. Very comforting, almost private.
- em inglês
Lots of flour & cuminy carrot seeds. Amazing!

kind of giving le labo’s musc 25

Ok first of all wow. I’m in between laughing and crying this scent is bringing out emotions in me. This is like nothing I’ve ever smelled in a perfume. I definitely don’t see myself wearing this in public. It’s almost repulsive but I also can’t stop smelling it. I don’t even know what to say. It smells like something I shouldn’t be smelling. It’s definitely skin, but not my skin. I applied a sample after I showered and now it smells like I didn’t shower. It’s like dewy skin that’s been out in the sun. Not necessarily unclean, though. I can’t tell if it’s young person skin or old person skin. Both like to drink milk, right? This is a far more realistic “second skin” than you’ll get with any of the glossier yous or other similar musks out there. It’s almost like there are pheromones in here. Maybe it wouldn’t seem so sweaty on a cooler day. I’m excited to try it in different seasons. I continue to be intrigued by this house. I love poudrextase and carnicure. The others I’ve tried are great too but not for me. This one certainly doesn’t disappoint based on the description. It truly is a bottle of skin. Edit: ok I’m wearing this a second day in a row because apparently I’m a sadist (and a masochist?)... anyway I’m actually starting to like it? I think?? It’s leaning young skin now. And I do have a toddler, but it doesn’t smell like him, or how he ever smelled even as a baby. It’s maybe giving young girl with blonde hair who has a baby sibling and has just moved into the bigger bedroom to make room for the baby. Her toys and dolls are strewn about and she’s happy and energetic. It somehow also reminds me of the museum. Specifically, the painting Leisure Hours by John Everett Millais. Maybe there’s a sort of primal body smell to it. Like clean young skin before showers and modern soaps were a thing. Apparently this scent really evokes some specific feelings for me. Now I’m debating whether I need a bottle or not...

A scent that is both clean and gently sweet, with a soft milky quality; like a blend of chalky iris, white musk, and a dusting of powdered sugar. The musk here doesn’t feel dirty to me at all. Even though the brand description mentions “skin powder” and “bath towels”, and despite the presence of cumin and costus, the clean-laundry impression clearly takes the lead. It’s very easy to wear and sits close to the skin. It instantly reminds me of the wheat-based, organic cream we used on my baby; applied generously, then getting him dressed before it fully absorbed. The sleeve of the onesie would carry that exact scent: a milky lotion touch layered over the baby’s own soft skin scent, wrapped in the clean warmth of fresh fabric, all mingling together. Tag(s): Innocent, clean-laundry, white musk, chalky iris, baby soft powder, milky

The one thing you can’t deny about Doliphor, is its uniqueness. What a strange and unexpected note breakdown, and yet the resulting scent is nothing short of beautiful. This takes cleanliness to niche territory, something inoffensive and addictive, but still interesting and captivating. It’s rather powdery, almost like baby powder, but not quite that realistic. It’s also got this element of fresh, clean laundry which has just been dried in the sun. Clean linens, soap and gentle musks, it’s very passive; soft, pillowy and smooth. I actually really enjoy it. It somewhat reminds me of this White Musk Tahara oil I sometimes use, when I simply want to smell clean. It smells quite profoundly synthetic, but very soft and comforting, with a scent trail so addictive you can’t help but take the deepest breath in. Very very nice!

You know when you take a REALLY hot and steamy shower, so your skin is clean, but when you get out you've already started to sweat a little bit? That's what this smells like. Or sheets that have been slept in on a warm summer night, a mixture of clean detergent and faint body musk. I don't just smell this fragrance, but I can almost feel the texture of it. It feels like the cotton of your pillow case that has been softened by the oils in your skin for the past several nights. Really a fascinating and somehow comforting scent. UPDATE: After wearing it for about an hour it started to give me a headache for some reason, makes me sad.
- em inglês
Opening is kinda crazy. Intense spicy bo adjacent cumin and something that smells like milk being scorched on the stove. After it settles in you get a really pretty, really odd laundry adjacent musk thats still manages to be a little animalic. Like fresh washed clothes out the dryer on someone who's slightly sweaty but not like stinky sweaty just kind of salty, musky and skin like. It's definitely more clean than dirty though the costus/cumin/milk give it something really skin adjacent. Most approachable/easy to wear marlou scent so far.
- em inglês
One of the most beautiful scents I've ever smelled. The softest, creamiest spiced milk with the slightest hint of sweetness. Like all Marlou fragrances, it smells very intimate; it also smells deeply familiar. Not a 'clean' skin scent as it doesn't smell like washed skin but more like you're very very close to someone's warm skin. It's not 'sexy', though, either, it smells like being comforted by a person you like: I'd almost say it smells like closeness itself.
- em inglês
Doliphor is the most canonically human of Marlou’s offerings. True to life there’s this interplay between clean and dirty facets. Like when you flat iron unwashed hair or get bread crumbs on a freshly dried shirt. To love is to is to be changed is to get messy. I find that the scale does not tip too far into savory or sweet territory. I pick up on the pepperiness of the cumin just as much as the froth of the milk. Come to think of it, is Doliphor Babygirl?
- em inglês
It gives me a slight public pool vibe. I pick up a light chlorine smell, though in a kind of pleasant way. It’s not strong at all, more of a skin scent.
- em inglês
somehow smells like you just stepped out of the shower but also like you haven't showered in three days
- em inglês
Without seeing the notes I thought it smelled like burning hot glue or candles. And dusty. I like it
- em inglês
This smells EXACTLY like a baby that had a bath with scentless baby soap, drank a bottle of milk and dribbled a little bit on their onesie, and is now asleep, tucked against your chest. Very comforting, somehow the most wearable Marlou, and yet... not sure that's it what I want to go around smelling like, or what I would think if I encountered an adult smelling like this. Actually I guess I would think "This person spends a lot of time around babies." I have yet to find a Marlou scent I actually want to wear, but it's a fascinating house and I will sample everything they put out as long as they keep being weird.
- em inglês
I think I'm completely anosmic to this. I'm sniffing like crazy but I only pick up hints of musk and maybe a very light soap? I can't smell anything! Boring.
- em inglês
I get the breast milk or sweet baby breath association that others mention, but more than that I get a tart, peachy yogurt. I can see how some people might find this comforting, but kinda nauseating to me. A unique experience definitely worth sampling.
- em inglês
Very soft and inconspicuous, velvety scent of muted lily pistils and vanilla lacking sweetness. Rather an unobtrusive home perfume, interchangeable with white hard soap or fabric softener on freshly washed bed linen for your guestroom.
- em inglês
wet clean towel and flour.... kind of sharp and intense which surprised me
- em inglês
More viscerally repulsive and retch-inducing than Sécrétions Magnifiques.

This was the first fragrance I sprayed at the Field & Florist booth at Fumed yesterday, and I was immediately caught off guard and intrigued and confused and happy all at once. In a world becoming populated with milky fragrances, and as someone who loves wearing them (fortunately, they do not turn sour on my skin), this stands out against the rest as something unique, something truly niche—and I don’t use that term flippantly, as I find many people often due. According to Cambridge dictionary, niche is something “interesting to, aimed at, or affecting only a small number of people.” It is something meant for a narrow audience, not for the mass market. And that is how I would define this perfume; it has carved out a small corner—or niche, if you will ;) —in the universe of milky fragrances. I can’t get this fragrance out of my mind; from the first sniff on paper to the last lingering scent on my skin, this is addicting to me. I don’t expect everyone to feel this way, but if you like milky fragrances, you might want to give this one a test. And even if you don’t find it addicting, or even like it, I suspect you will appreciate the uniqueness of this fragrance that Emma Lehaut created. Now, as for the fragrance notes, I do not pick up on the cumin (which I have an aversion to), and I do not get a stinky sweat from this either. I get the lactonic and muscy notes with a hint of something sweet and salty and something else I can’t identify. I understand why people say it’s reminiscent of a clean baby, and while I agree, that’s not something that popped into my mind; it’s what I read in other people’s reviews. For me, this is reminiscent of the smell of clean, but not soapy or fresh out of the shower, skin. That scent you smell when you cuddle someone and have your nose right up to their skin. It’s comforting and relaxing and safe.

I am so incredibly enamored with this scent. It immediately transported me to the mid 90s, when I was on the swim team for my local club, and would rinse off in cool water after a meet. Hair not quite clean, vaguely smelling of chlorine, but definitely not dirty. This scent captures that gorgeous, musky wet (but not shampooed) hair scent mixed with sun kissed skin, fuzzy warm towels, and running through grass to my mom’s minivan- exhausted and happy. Marlou has consistently impressed me with their ability to make transcendent, true to life “skin scents.” It’s really an art. I tried mixing Doliphor with one of my favorite sunscreen scents, Holy Hell by Universal Flowering and they’re a match made in heaven. 10/10- I will be grabbing a bottle when they launch!

Pleasant clean accord that's somewhere between disinfected hospital and fresh shower. The milkiness is subtle and not overplayed or maturely creamy, surprisingly well-balanced. Really good composition that's decently abstract but very grounded at the same time, I don't quite get the "wheat flour" accord though, would've been nice if this had more of that fermented feel, but I can see the imagery of the "salivary" accord. Like with the brand's other creations, this is really good value for its quality, it has better blending than many "avant-garde" niche houses that charge higher prices. Smells of nothing on blotter. On skin it pulls into a milky green cut iris stem territory. A little bit of dead green floral notes and stale bouquet water as well. Beautiful but melancholic and intimate My wife said it smells like “candle” on skin. It does have a very clean and waxy quality to it, kind of like a beeswax and goat milk candle. After airing out on blotter I get associations of clean, freshly shampooed skin, more lactonic notes, and something that is giving me associations of sunbathing on a Hawaiian beach and rinsing off in the sun in an outdoor shower
