Captain America

This is better than expected. I bought my boys (11 and 9) two Marvel scents each for Valentine's Day. They were $10 each at Burlington. Captain America and Spiderman were the best. I also bought Iron Man and Black Panther. This is pleasant-- definitely does not smell more expensive than it is, but it's really not bad, and my 9 year old loves "smelling like vibranium!" To me it just smells fresh and clean but unremarkable, and it's not a sillage beast, thankfully, because my kiddo keeps going back for more sprays. I could see a grown man using this for a gym scent or even an easy office scent. It smells better on skin than on paper or on the spray nozzle.

Cool Water/Aspen copy. Presentation is a must have for the hero fan, but don't expect much from the scent.

offensively generic and safe cologne that, yeah, smells like aspen and cool water, but i also get a nautica classic vibe with a much more synthetic soapy vanilla, slightly fruity, and woody vibe. it's not bad considering it's less than 10 bucks, but i don't really see myself having any practical use for this

Generic powdery cedar wood scent with slight ambergris note.

A probably futile attempt at seriously reviewing some of the Marvel Comics fragrance line. I was curious enough about Air-Val International's Marvel licensed fragrances to pick up a set of four eau de toilette mini bottles. The ingredient lists on the box shows that the four fragrances should be quite different, ...but in actuality, they are all fairly similar. Smelling them side-by-side does reveal differences, ...so at least they aren't just putting the exact same cheap cologne in different bottles, ...but the differences are slight enough to suggest many bases and accords are shared between scents. Individual descriptions of each of the four scents: • The first time I sampled Captain America, before reading its Fragrantica page, it actually did remind me very much of the Cool Water (or Aspen) profile, ...but after direct comparison it has more sweet vanilla than that. So overall, just a weak and undistinguished woody-vanillic aromatic. • Spiderman, another woody fresh-aromatic, is quite similar to Captain America, but with less vanilla and more citrus. • The Hulk may be the most distinct of the four, as it does smell like a powdery vanilla-lavender. • Iron Man is somewhat similar to The Hulk, but with less powder and the sweet note is fruitier (so apple?), ...also Iron man is supposed to be more spicy, but the aromatic (spicy?) notes just read as more lavender.
