Mintea

I agree wholeheartedly with the reviewer who described this scent as "discreet and inoffensive." I received a gift set a few years ago with coffrets of 4 Masaki Matsushima scents, including Mintea. Mintea was my clear favorite. It reminds me of making mojitos and muddling the fresh mint with cane sugar. The green tea and cucumber balance out the sweetness a bit and make the scent super refreshing. I like to wear this on a hot summer day, when I can't stand a heavy fragrance. I do wish it had a bit more staying power though.

Just got a vintage miniature in the mail and put it on my wrists and neck right away. First impression: much sweeter and woodier than I expected. As the scent started to open up more, tea and slightly artificial lemon became very prominent, and I loved it! It takes me to a bubble tea shop - I can feel the iced tea and even brown sugar tapioca pearls. It's sweet, light-hearted, yet complex. Fresh and green, yet grounded. Very well mixed, and doesn't take me to a mint+tea combination right away. I'm very happy about the first introduction to Masuki Matsushima fragrances.

It's funny, but all could really smell of this fragrance was celery, which isn't even included in the notes.

I bought a sample of this as I am craving fresh, herbal and minty type fragrances at the moment. The first spritz was very harsh and herbal but after about twenty minutes it settles down and I can smell the green tea and mint. I expected this to become slightly sweeter but it becomes very medicinal and woody. The harshness and the rather strong, minty, almost disinfectant type smell, remains throughout and although this fragrance is described as floral green, I don't get any floral notes at all. I can only describe this perfume as rather masculine and it reminds me of walking into an apothecary or spa. It dries down into a strong wood note (perhaps it's the mahogany??) but either way this is an unusual fragrance which must be enjoyed with a very open mind. I think this would be most appropriate on a hot day or perhaps when you don't feel very well, as it's herbal aroma is a little like 'smelling salts', it awakens the senses with a start! The longevity is pretty good but I'm afraid that this is not to my liking. Too green, too sharp, too cold, too medicinal. Try before you buy, not a good blind buy.

Mintea is beautiful to me. Its definitely warm relaxing, very much different from the rest of green-tea-fragrances I have ever tried. It doesn't remind me of Elizabeth Arden at all, Mintea is very "round" scent, soft-solid, green tea with milk if you like, while Arden's tea is watery. It surprised me that my skin didn't give that cucumber and watermelon, but all to the better. On me Mintea opens by very good quality (not from the tea-bags) green tea leaf with juniper-berries. Second phase - musky bamboo with lotus Base - beautiful warm mahagony and reed. Really warm, really comfy, so I do share opinion of the flowers-in-the-springtime here - its the best friend and remedy on your skin while you are not well. Has that touch of healer. Can not wait when I will be able to get that cute bottle with lovely name.

This is quite a nice, transparent fragrance. I am not a huge fan of mint, but I can appreciate it as a refreshing, revitalising note. Together with bamboo, reed and lotus, it creates a nice air kind of making me think of a breeze on a sunny day. Quite interesting, elegant, a good alternative for sporty summer fragrances, I imagine perfect for a hot, humid weather. As mentioned, might not be a breakthrough in the wordl of perfumery, but it has got a very good quality to it and should not be overlooked if you look for something clean and pleasant for summertime.

If you need a little perfume to keep in your bag to refresh youself during the day, try this one. Mint, cucumber, green tea and watermelon are prominent. The fragrance is pretty and enjoyable, but doesn't last long. With MAT, MINTEA has tea, mint, bamboo and lotus in common. These fragrances are discreet and inoffensive. Could be good for a woman working in the office.

Transparent, drydown smells exactly like Elizabeth Arden Green Tea, which I like a lot, but was hoping for something new to be introduced in the tea/fresh/green category. Pleasant, refreshing, but nothing special to it, unfortunately.
