Bought out of curiosity(I live in Louisiana, close enough right?) and it was $20 so I figured, what the hell. It has a very astringent, almost pungent smell. When I first wore this, I got a lot of the mandarin orange and patchouli, but believe me it is almost equally strong all around. It’s not that bad actually, when I re-visited it today, I started to associate the smell with the small grocery store where I bought it. It almost reminds me of a small town girl who worked hard to be able to go to LSU and cherishes everything she worked to buy for herself. So first and foremost there is an underlying smell like the “skin nourishing” acetone nail polish remover, if this is a dealbreaker to you, you will NOT like this perfume. That smell is almost comforting to me, nostalgic and reminds me of humble beginnings. There is a booze-y whiskey note that I attribute a lot of this nail polish remover smell to. There’s also something a bit peppery and woody that I attribute to the patchouli, whiskey, and agar-wood. The floral notes like jasmine, tuberose, and rose help to feminize it a bit by making it more “clean, soapy, powdery” but overall the perfume is more on the masculine, woody, booze-y side. The mandarin and plum are two of my favorite notes in here, they kind of remind me of New Orleans, like some Sazerac. Overall I give this perfume a 6.5/10 and feel that that’s a very fair rating. You will smell a little astringent but you will smell clean and familiar in my opinion. You MUST like the smell of booze and wood
