Luci ed Ombre

This is so very different from Giuseppe’s Meo line. This definitely fits Masque’s operatic vision because it’s theatrical with the light and shadow contrasts at play. It’s so very different from his coffee heavy Little Song which I enjoy wearing during the dead of winter. The moment this hits the skin there’s this swirl of incense, dark and resinous like walking into a candlelit chapel hidden in an overgrown forest. I particularly used the word swirl because the atomizer is very high quality, and the heavy bottom bottle is gorgeous. Within an hour it settles down to a soft, almost creamy tuberose paired with jasmine and ginger, lifting the composition into something luminous and alive while remaining delicate and dandy. I don’t find the patchouli overwhelming as it it lingers in the background. Some other reviewers below say it leans feminine. I don’t necessarily disagree, but I think it would work on a confident man over forty. It’s truly unisex in my humble opinion. This was a good blind buy for me based on my existing Meo collection. Two weeks later I've decided this is a delicate scent on me and best suited for early spring in the American Southwest. A few hours into the dry down I really enjoy layering with a small spritz of Splendida Tubereuse Mystique Bvlgari. Tubereuse has been my favourite floral since childhood. It lifts up Giuseppe’s accords.

Initial burst of some slightly animalic florals and citrus. Patchouli moderately prominent from the start. Luci Ed Ombre is a pleasantly sweet and less intense offering from Masque Milano. I initially smelled some of the others like Tango, Mandala and Russian Tea, which scared me away from the brand for a while due to the heavy synths. I was surprised by this softer more classy offering after receiving a free sample with another order. There is a beautiful spice note, ginger perhaps, that works wonderfully with the florals. I wanted more incense as it's so prominently listed on the notes. The incense is there, but blended more as part of the whole rather than sticking out individually. The drydown features a light and sweet cedar and patchouli. Luci Ed Ombre is far from being a powerhouse like the others. Moderate longevity, soft sillage. 3-4 sprays recommended per wearing. If I were to buy a fb from MM, this would be a candidate. The lower price is also an added bonus.

Luci ed Ombre is very pretty, and strikes me as a straight floral in the beginning, broadening with increasing complexity over time into a more chypre presence. This is very beautiful and I think I'd find it wildly sexy on the right man. For myself, I prefer the smouldering mystery of Masque's Montecristo, but LeO is quite lovely. If I had a much larger purse from which to purchase fragrances, this would be in wardrobe. The sillage is modest, but the fragrance is enduring, and I've been enjoying the scent for 10 hours now. I think Luci ed Ombre would make a gorgeous alternative for people who find Montecristo too heavy and brooding. These two are my first samplings, and thus far I am very impressed with the Masque line of fragrances.

Love this. Incense and tuberose, but neither steal the show. The tuberose is beautiful, it’s very present but not overpowering. And it’s a good tuberose. More similar to carnal flower tuberose than perris Monte Carlo tuberose, if that makes sense. Floral but slightly dirty. Meo Fuscini is a killer. I can’t detect the other notes per say, as they are stated, but there’s lots more than just what’s mentioned. It’s reminiscent of a few other scents to me, most notably l’artisan histoires des oranges, but more so in general theme than in the smell itself. Absolutely love it. The dry down is a bit funky.

This is a love of mine, but it isn't an 'everyday' perfume - and it took me awhile to lean into it. It has a strong, almost pungent, top note that takes time to settle. Although the notes say incense and ginger - to me this combination gives a really strong eucalyptus/tea tree vibe, which makes me think of this fragrance as very 'Australian' even though it is Italian. Overall - this is a really refreshing, zingy fragrance that is also dark and mysterious. Love it.
