Thankfully, Petra doesn't smell like Coco Mademoislle which has an astringent, ubiquitous 2000 French patchouli note. I really have to be in the mood for it. Petra is deep, warm, fuzzy amber with jammy, chewy fruits. The Patchouli starts to get in the 2000’s directions but hovers between the chocolate rooty patchouli and the green, leafy brighter astringent patchouli a la Coco Mademoiselle. Even more than Coco Mademoiselle, Petra shares more with the 2017 Miss Dior Eau de Parfum. 2017 Miss Dior EdP being brighter and sparkling with citrus rather than fruits. Both have rose, jasmine, pink pepper, mandarin, orange and share base notes. The major difference with Petra is its additional leather, incense and salty ambergris which feels naughtier than Miss Dior. Like flirting with BDSM

Petra is a sweet, feminine, unapologetic amber in the style of Cecile Zakorian (AKA a heavy hand with the amber, resins, and balsamic accords). There's a fleeting moment in the dry-down where Petra reminds me of Chanel Coco Mademoiselle with the sweet patchouli-floral-citrus combo, however Petra evolves into a sensual balsamic amber while still retaining the playful sweetness of the florals and fruits whereas CCM remains a high pitched sweet-musky patchouli. I highly recommend checking Petra out if you a) enjoy sweet, feminine ambers and b) are a fan of Cecile Zakorian's work.

Words can't even begin to describe this amazing fragrance. When I smell it on my skin, I'm transported to Dubai, where I'm in my billion-dollar penthouse wearing a Valentino suit with my Ghutrah on point. I'm throwing a party, and all of my guests are utterly enchanted by my every word. I'm the playboy of the year. My girlfriend is a Colombian super model, and I drive a Ferrari when my Bugatti is in the shop. If you're lucky enough to be near a store where you can sample this, go smell it, and find out where it transports you.

As a man, I love wearing this fragrance. It is a classically feminine fragrance, but on me it smells like citrus, patchouli, and a high quality incense. There is also a beautiful floral/animalic nuance that adds dimension. Petra is one of those fragrances that smells completely different on a man as it does on a woman. I feel this is perfect for a man who is tired of all the Sauvage, Invictus, Aventus, or Bleu de Chanel type fragrances that seem to dominate the mainstream masculine fragrance market.

Тhis is my first try form this brand and wnat brought me to this particular one is the nose behind it - Cécile Zarokian( i have other of her creations and was curious about more). I really love love this one- so classy, confident , better then Coco Mademoiselle !

It is simmilar to chanel but so much better, with depth and incense. Arabic Princess can wear that. Elegant, sweet with smokey twist. Love it!

I know it smells like Chanel but it’s better in my eyes. This is truly addicting and it’s my guilty pleasure.

The most perfect perfume ever, love love love

Radiant combination of fresh (piny) resinous notes and deep balsamic base. It smells almost sour, due to high concentration of very heavy notes topped up with a bit of citruses. For me it’s way too overpowering, my nose it’s a bit too sensitive for such scent. Also jasmine absolute gives me a headache... UPD: was blindly testing it again in the colder weather. Deep resinous scent - spicy, little smoky and even somewhat sour and salty. I can also feel lots of frankincense and myrrh - so for me it smells quite churchy but in a nice way. Totally agree with Sophiii! This is a juiced up GORGEOUS version of Coco Madamoiselle. On me, it opens fruitier and sweeter, and then the patchouli really opens up about 30 minutes in. It's strong, it's sexy, it's sophisticated. It's warm, but intense. The sillage on this is beautiful and smells a bit sweeter than on the skin. There's almost something chalky about it (that I love?). The best way to describe it is Coco Madamoiselle (75%) x BR540 (25%).

It’s an intense fragrance with a distinctly artisanal character. It carries a sense of raw nature, smoky earthiness and a stony strength. The composition both attracts and repels me at the same time. The opening is refreshing and lightly spicy, followed by a fruity accent, though these are dried fruits rather than fresh or juicy ones. The base is aromatic and earthy, evoking the touch of moss and leathery leaves. There is something wild and primal about it. The fragrance feels raw yet harmonious, decisive in tone and deeply intriguing. Longevity is around eight hours with moderate projection. Personally, I am not a fan of this scent, as something about it unsettles me, but I can still appreciate the complexity of the composition.

I wish I smelled dimension in this, to me this is just a HUGE soap bomb, like the biggest one I've ever smelled. Hard pass but I see this being loved by many women.

I definitely get the resemblance to Coco Mademoiselle/Coco Mademoiselle Intense, but this is much softer. There is something in the opening of Petra that I'm not a big fan of, but it develops nicely to something similar to CM. The dry down of Petra goes in a more powdery and resinous direction though; the dry down is very nice. If you found CM too loud or screechy then you may want to give Petra a try. Personally I'll stick with the Chanel.

very seductive and decadent. The patchouli in this is very nice...well done....not that sorta earthy, freshly picked patch. Its what the patch in CoCo Mademoiselle smells like. And Im a sucker for a myrrh/incense combo.. this delivers. For some odd reason, first thing I thought of when I smelled this on a female I know, was Prince...and the song "Darling Nikki" popped into my head. Thats one of the reasons I picked up perfumery as a hobby/sport..because what I smell, often conjures up songs. Petra...to my mind, is what a slut would wear if he/she were trying to "hook someone". So, it makes all the sense in the World that I would seek it out. Good night..

If they left it at the jasmine and pink pepper and musk it would be gorgeous. On the first spray I get a whiff of a note that smells like saliva and is out of place (maybe the sea salt?), but the drydown is nicer with more prominent musk and spicy cinnamon-like notes. The note of incense is extremely heavy and animalic for me. For this reason I would only wear this fragrance in cold weather in the wintertime. I spent $44 on a 10 ml sample and only use it seasonally. If you want a better combination of pink pepper and jasmine for Springtime that is fresher, sharper and more elegant, I would recommend Estée Lauder Pleasures or Lady Code by Valmont Privata

Petra prominent notes: Pink pepper, Bergamot, Rose, Jasmine, Patchouli & gourmand notes. Petra is a historic and archaeological city in southern Jordan. So it seems that we're going to face an oriental fragrance. But I think that it’s a real chypre, meanwhile semi modern perfume because of its gourmand facet too. Something like an additional melting gummy bear is here, that goes along the recent feminine fragrances trend.

Soapy soup musk.... Well... Al petra is overly soapy blend with big doses of musk. I get soap, musk, huge doses of pink pepper, salt, salty ambergris, myrrh, jasmine, bergamot, incense, & patchouli. I dunno, i believe this could resemble the dead sea but to resemble "Al Patra'a" not really cause it is too salty and soapy to do so. Fair.

Definitely picking up Oud. It's not listed the notes, but it's there. Not for me. Yet another lousy blind buy. Upon wearing it a bit more, it does resemble Coco Mademoiselle only with Oud. I can tolerate it, but not my favorite.

I don't know if the in-store tester had gone bad or something, but all I'm getting from this is a kind of burnt licorice note very akin to the one found in Mancera's Aoud Black Candy.

I wish there was a version of this that was a little more masculine leaning - i would definitely get it

Coco Mademoiselle with an interesting salty sea note to cut the sweetness. Good lasting power.
