Tango

When I first got my nose on this, I didn't quite understand it. My nose wasn't ready and I wasn't a fan of Cécile Zarokian's work as a perfumer yet. Fast forward a couple of years and man, what a gem Tango is. It's the dirtier, more animalic version of MFK's Grand Soir. That last sentenced resumes Tango quite well, I think. But let's dig in deeper. Tango may be challenging to some because the opening is quite punchy. It's a blast of cumin and jasmine to your senses. Some struggle with cumin (some describe it as sweaty) or jasmine (very indolic, especially since here Cécile used jasmine sambac, which is more indolic and some would say "sexual") will have a rough time. If you can get through that, you're in for a treat. I would say this one isn't for beginners. Tango will as its name implies, change and gives you whiffs of its notes in quick succession, like a fast paced dance. It will be one minute floral, the next smoky, then ambery and shift around. Like its namesake, it is also very sexy, seductive and begs for attention. Not one for work, admittedly. This is for a night out, a date (and possibly a following torrid night!). It lasts long, very long. 8-10 hours later I'll still be catching whiffs of it as I move around. It projects quite a bit initially as well, you'll easily fill a room if you're not careful, so do be careful in enclosed spaces (unless of course that's your intention). I would say this leans a bit more male because later on it gets more smoky but a woman could pull it off if she has a strong presence and charisma. Definitely a stand out in Cécile's portfolio, in my opinion. Her signature is all over this one. If you love her work, get your nose on Tango asap. Beautiful and complex, as I've come to expect of her work.

Tango is a very spicy sumptuous Oriental also very soothing, which wants to get into the territory gourmand. The very ambarado and sweet spicy start (cumin, cardamom and cinnamon) marks the drive shaft of Tango, the mixture is complex, rich, somewhat in the wake of opulent Oriental old and the old (reminds me Opium) of Indeed, when you put a few drops on the skin is noticed that the fragrance is reddish and leaves a trace of the amount of essential oils that carries (rare these days that all manufacturers skimp on essences to cheapen). The fragrance has a bit of everything, the nuances are intermingled among them perfectly, even difficult to differentiate the phases by the large number of notes and scents it carries. The middle notes I detect a nice arrangement of rose and notes of sandalwood very well balanced with the rest. Drying is best balsams of all kinds, the feeling is sweet, creamy, warm but never cloying, even I think it takes more components that says Fragantica list. The duration is Brutal and excellent wake, also the qualities. Peca be something a little monotonous, but is forgiven by the olfactory result as good. I've tried more Masque and fragrances are really good jobs, and it impressed me at the time "Russian Tea" (rather loved), but Tango, in another style, is not far behind. Rating: 7.5

I love (and own) many amber perfumes- all over the spectrum including dry, resinous, earthy, animalic, spicy, herbal, fruity- some light and effervescent, some dense as lead, and even those verging on syrupy sweet (though that's my biggest boundary)... and the reason why I own this one too is that it covers the amber/floral category in a way that no other that I have tested does. I LOVE flowers in real life, but often struggle with their portrayal in perfumery- so floral perfumes are a smaller subset of my collection than most other genres. Here they are done just right for my taste- the jasmine floats divinely over the resinous affair, and the damask rose is tuned in at the perfect pitch to hum along without overpowering. I see a lot of reviews saying boring, safe, middle of the road. Ok, maybe... yeah, in the sense that there is nothing offensive here and I would happily wear it around my mom (which I would not do with 3/4 of my weirdo collection), but I still reach for it in the privacy of my own home because it scratches a specific itch... beautifully. Retail price per ml is nuts on this one, but performance is great. Travel size is available, and there are great deals to be found on full bottles if you're patient.

I've been meaning to comment on this for a while, but I couldn't do it without allocating a separate and special time. This fragrance was love at first sight for me. It is the thing that broke my prejudice against cumin. I have many samples and a bottle of this house, but I think this is the most special among them. The clearest summary: spicy-vanilla-powder. Yes, even though the powdery is not visible in the head accords, the drydown is all about it. This spice is very soft and beautiful, not like the Ambre Sultan (by Serge L) style spice market. The trinity of cumin, cardamom and cinnamon is in the air! Fluffy! It has a sensual mood that feels very intimate. In other words, the scent is both intimate and spreads very widely in space. I think the floral notes give it strength in the background, but this fragrance is never what I would call 'floral'. Every stage is lovely, the drydown is wonderful because it is very very smooth! Vanilla, tonka, musk and a soft powdery note (although I don't understand where it comes from) linger. It is a perfume more suited to winter and autumn. I am very happy to have it. Sophisticated and sensual queen!

I'm exploring a few (affordable would be nice) alternatives to Profumum Roma Ambra Aurea. It was suggested I try Masque Milano "Tango." I own and adore MM "Kintsugi." I thought, "Why not try Tango?" Tango is an immediate, automatic, very strong like...almost a love!! Opens as a thick, dark, very spicy, resinous, dreamy amber. There's spicy cinnamon, cumin and cardamon (I love cardamon in fragrances). I am not a fan of the cumin phase, which immediately lends somewhat of a skanky, or dirty accord to the fragrance. Florals still in their dirt and a melange of spices develop and beautifully blend with the numerous unfurling notes. The woods provide the perfect backbone for this spicy, resinous, amber-centric, floral perfume. Tango is nice. And while I refrain from gender-categorizing fragrances, I'd like tango on a man more-so than I like it on myself. And surprisingly as a woman, I much prefer Jovoy "Ambre Premier" over Masque Milano "Tango." However Ambra Aurea will always be the Holy Grail of amber-centric fragrances.

Delicious, incredibly blended spicy balsamic amber with florals and woods in the back. I really get amber, cinnamon, and cardamom throughout the entire performance. But each time I sniff a different note peeks through: rose, jasmine, cedar, tobacco, rosewood, orange zest, honey, vanilla. It's never too sweet or cloying. The cumin isn't present much on my skin but it might just be my sample. There is certainly a dry and warm spice pushing at the beginning - I think that's the cumin. I wish there was more! But anyway. Tango just smells so amazing, it's interesting and intriguing and wants you to keep coming closer. It's not challenging at all but still doesn't quite smell designer to me - thank God. It just smells so warm and bright but also deep and reserved but also confident and passionate. Projects a couple feet for a couple hours and then just a foot or less for several more hours. 2 sprays on the neck and one on the chest, 7 hours later I'm still catching whiffs as I move around. Perfection. Unisex.

Killer stuff. I got a big bottle. It's rich and dark and spicy. It smells super high quality. It has an earthy richness, almost like a patchouli. I don't like most patchouli fragrances. It smells like something I've smelled before.. Monsieur from Frederic Malle. "Amber" is an imaginary accord sometimes made up of Benzoin, Labdanum and Vanillin. Benzoin is a sweet smelling tree resin. In this they probably used Ethyl Vanillin because it comes off chocolatey, like patchouli would. Methyl Diantillis comes off spicier like cinnamon. Labdanum is used in many classic Chipre fragrances. Ambre Sultan, Gran Soir, Le Du Desert Marican and Chanel Le Lion all feature Labdanum as a solo ingredient. Spices and musks are common additions to Labdanum. Labdanum will come off dirty, animalic, and slightly boozy. Probably why people are saying that. The cumin probably, also.

Tango is a very smooth amber fragrance. The smoothest, dare I say. Smoother than the average, at least (amongst the ones I know or own, including Amber Flash, Amber Absolute, Ambre Sultan, LDDM, Absolue Pour Le Soir and Grand Soir, for example). It does not come to me so spicy and I barely (I say barely) get any cumin. Other than amber, I get cardamom, benzoin, a faint floral touch and a little bit of an indolic jasmine. Tango does have that rubbery feel to it, like Grand Soir. But much less sweet. Tango is what I could call a perfect amber perfume. Not only because of the scent, which is gorgeous, but because its usage is not restricted to cool or cold weathers - and that, my friends, is a rare quality for this kind of fragrance. Tango is something else. Finds no match in its category. 11/10

A dark spicy complex amber. Definitely more on the mature side. This is not simple clean amber like other ambers such as Ambre Nuit or Grand Soir. This has got character. A wonderful artistic creation by Cécile Zarokian. This took me some time to understand. If you are done with above mentioned kind of simplistic amber fragrances, this is the one to try. A rich, dark, spicy, resinous, bit balsamic, bit animalic in the dry down, but wonderfully blended fragrance nonetheless. Very nice interpretation of cumin, really fits the brand's press release. It behaves differently on different people's skin, that's what i have experienced. Surely give it a try before you buy, this is an acquired taste for most but once you understand it and resonate with it, it will be your one of the top ambers.

ماسک تانگو : وقتی بانو زاروکیان عطار یک کار باشه بایدم همچین شاهکاری رو به ما تحویل بده . خب این عطر با ترکیب بسیار خوب و تمیز هل و زیره و کهربا که رز آروم در چاشنی کار اومده شروع میشه . سریع تغییر نت ( یا بهتره بگم افزایش نت !) بوی چوبی میاد در کنار دیگر نت ها. بوی دارچین که از ابتدا به صورت کمرنگ همراه ما بوده کم کم پر رنگ تر میشه و رز هم نمایان تر میشه ولی کلا این بانو در ترکیب رز بی رقیبه. بی جهت نیست که من به یاد مون نوم روژ بیفتم ! هر کسی از نت رز خوشش نمیاد کافیه یکی از کارهای این بانو رو تست کنه تا متوجه بشه رز واقعی در هنر عطرسازی مخصوصا مقاله نیش یعنی چی . درای دونش بسیار زیباست و کمی وانیل به داستان اضافه میشه(که ای کاش نمیشد) و عطر رو ملایم تر میکنه و همچنین حالت پودری میگیره . به نظرم بازخورد منفی قرار نیست بیاره اگر و فقط اگر در سن و موقعیت خاص خودش پوشیده بش

A dark warm smoky amber. Beautifully blended. Off the top, the smoky note here is reminiscent of Francesca Bianchi’s The Black Knight, but it subsides quickly and then you’re left with a dry spicy amber. Not unlike Tauer’s LdDM. Same vein, but def not a dupe or anything like that. To my nose, it’s kind of a blend between black night, LDDM, Xerjoff’s ivory route and lonestar memories, but without the lasting power of any. Very beautiful and worth every penny. If you like the vanilla note in ivory route you may really enjoy this one’s dry down. One of my favs from the house, and one of my favourite ambers. Wish the performance was better but still a solid 10/10.

Tango is a dusty sweet spice right out of the gate. The cumin is responsible for the dusty effect, and it’s done very well. Cumin at this level makes me feel like I’ve been riding a motorcycle through the desert, like my mouth is filled with earthen dust. The composition seems really heavy right now in the spring, but ask me again in the winter and I may feel differently. The rose is a base note on me, becoming the strongest after the spice and amber have settled in. I definitely get why it’s called Tango, because of the characteristic rose carried in the mouth of the dancer. Tango reminds me of a much spicier Rose de Petra. Great longevity, a quality EDP.

I like it.....but. Well, it is certainly a rich fragrance with lots of spices, balsams, and some faint animalic note. It opens boozy and vanilla plays along for a long period. It smelt rather perfect when I tried it on paper. However on my skin, there is a huge rubbery note that appears quite soon after the opening and lasts for a long time. I didn't sense it so much on paper, but on my skin it is prominent. The note becomes somewhat annoying and overpowers the other notes....unfortunately. I recommend to try it on your skin before you commit. It is a long lasting fragrance with medium projection. Unisex, but leans more towards masculine I would say.

Just got this. I am a huge fan of Ambre Loup as well and I can see some similarities. Ambre Loup has more animalic funkiness to it and I mean that in a good way. It’s also a lot hotter with spice than this. Tango is cooler, has a big booziness to it, and I think is probably more versatile. It could be worn on warmer days than Ambre Loup- Ambre Loup is so fantastically warm and spicy it works best in the cold. Anyway I love this and can’t wait to wear it in cooler months than June. There’s an accord in the base that actually somewhat reminds me of CK Obsession from the 90’s. My uncle wore it then and I have a faint memory of what it smelled like.

Primer día usando este perfumon! Me encanta, en mi nariz se siente una salida con el ámbar por supuesto de protagonista con benjui y el cardamomo , es lo que percibo principalmente, luego sale la rosa empujando fuerte y al final se vuelve a sentir el ámbar otra vez pero acompañado del cedro. Es un perfume intenso por lo que para mí gusto agradezco que no sea una bestia aunque con un muy buen rendimiento. Totalmente unisex, pero entiendo que en la etapa media de la vida del perfume, cuando sale la rosa, pueda parecer algo más femenino...pero para mi esto es un hombre puede resultar muy sexy. Si te gusta el ámbar, estás tardando!!

I went from sample to full bottle almost instantly, i was hooked. The sweet resinous smell just works for me, i love it. From the notes youd think it would present itself more like Embers, or other spicy frags, but even though it has some spicyness to it, this is a gorgeous blend of them all. I get the sense of instant warmth from it, and the resin amber is smooth. Tango is rather an apt name, the more i think about this scent, the more i picture two dancers, entwined in a Tango, and how that vision perceives the scent. Its alluring for sure, but mysterious and a little aloof. Glad i bought it!

I have sampled Tango several times. Now I got my hands on a full bottle, it was a gift actually. I always liked my Tango samples, but I absolutely adore the juice in this bottle. It's different, stronger, full and round. It's more playful, cheerful. Not stiff and pompous. Rose and melilotus shine brightly, I can smell some fruity notes even though there are none on the notes list. Cardamom, my favourite spice, is very pronounced here. Tango is a masterpiece, I love that it has such versatility; it smells different everytime I wear it. If you love it it's unlikely you ever get tired of it🌹

An amber smoother then silk... It's a summer night in Buenos Aires. The air is warm and breezy. We drink a chilled wine, talk and on the street there are pairs dancing. Under this nights tender caress we forget and let go. That's how Tango is : warm, caressing and enveloping in its sweet and slightly spiced touch. I'm feeling myself Big Time wearing this so caution is necessary :may cause a strong addiction and a need for warmer nights. I think it will be hard to live without this, so I'll take a moment in memory of my credit card. Moderate sillage, good longevity.

Amber made for kings , the kind that lures you in as soon as it hits the skin, the amber accord trapped in this blood red juice will coat your epidermis with a sensual confidence. Masterfully overdosed in exotic spices, namely a duality of cardamon and cinnamon, elevating the blend to a level of warmth and sexiness, Into the heart , a subtle use of cumin serves to develop a dark carnal facet to the composition all wrapped in a veil of gourmandish smoke enveloped in tonka bean. A hunting amber, intense and seductive like a Tango dance.

Basically it is a complex, and very spicy amber. Animalic, but not in an off-putting bodily way. It smells like some exotic dish, a spicy dessert (without being too sweet). You can really tell that this is a Ms Zarokian creation. I find it very similar to MON NOM EST ROUGE and KASHNOIR, also excellent works of the perfumer. It reminds me of KASHNOIR a lot, being a spicier and a denser version of it, with less emphasis on florals and patchouli. Still, very similar perfumes. Monstrous longevity and great sillage. Highly recommended.

Lovely fragrance. Very nice blend of amber cumin and tonka. But projection and sillage is weak. Went 5 sprays, 2 back of the ear, 1 on nape, 2 front of neck. 1 to 1.5 feet at most sillage. So fall fragrance at most also. As this wont cut through the winter cold. An intimate fragrance. I'd give this 10/10 if this would be projecting better, so 8/10 because performance is a big factor for these prices we pay. Best for controlled temp and closed door venues like dates, meetings, etc.

This beauty will always have a special place in my life . It’s my 5 your old daughter’s favourite perfume on me and for that I love it . Though I must admit , I made the mistake once to wear it in an interview and the gentleman I was talking to felt the need to keep his distance. Which I don’t mind , one of the reasons I hated Aventus back in the day was because I got tired as man to be complimented by men.. lol , plus my wife hated it . She adores this as I do myself.

This is an incredibly nice fragrance. Masterfully blended with amazing notes that all come together to produce a very unique and sophisticated spiced amber. No this is definitely not animalic and no it is not overpowered by the cumin. It’s perfect. I would definitely not wear this in a casual setting. It’s too elegant and refined. This is what you’d wear in a suit and tie just as much as a gown or dress. It’s perfectly unisex. Cecile is a genius! 9.5/10 for me.

Intoxicating, dense, luscious, dark, spicy musky amber with a gorgeous floral combination just showing itself. I need to apply this sparingly, especially in warm humid weather. The sillage is moderate for me, but intense up close. And the longevity is superb. I wore Tango while dancing last night (the Tango among others), and this morning there remains the definite waft of the gorgeous jasmine and rose, with a hint of amber and vanilla. Wonderful.

Amazing creation from the beautiful Cécile Zarokian! I just got this today as a blind buy, and I'm impressed. This fragrance took me by surprise. The smell is unique on its on, but for some reason I keep thinking that I have smelled it before. I can't recall what fragrance smells like this, but hope to remember one day. Never less, this is a beautiful amber fragrance for all amber lovers out there. Highly recommend people try this. 9/10

Today is my birthday and this is what I chose to wear. The big C isolation is going on and no actual party is going to happen. Still, this succeeds in creating a festive spirit and sets the greatest scene in my head. It’s complex enough with the rose and cumin to keep things interesting but has an overall amber-oozing smoothness that’s unmatched. I truly love it and hope anyone who’s reading this has the chance to try it.

This is very different from the other amber fragrances like grandsoir, LLDM, ambre loup. This has a bright aspect to it which i appreciate very much. Which also makes this more wearable than the other amber counterparts. Opens with florals, cinnamon and cumin then tones down to amber woody with touch of sweetness from the cinnamon and tonka. Very well blended and a must try. Presentation is on point from this house.

have smelled some Amber based fragrances in my journey but this is one of the most beautiful smelling Amber based fragrances out there. You get the amber that lasts throughout the perfume with light earthy touches of patchouli. This creates a lovely spicy scent bubble around you that is just addictive. Definitely my favorite from Masque Milano. If you like ambery sweet spicy fragrances I definitely recommend this.

Every time C.Z creates a fragrance it becomes a masterpiece this one is included. An amber floral scent which the name explains it perfectly. Starts smoky and resinous and dries down to floral spicy powdery scent.a good choice for a romantic night which fills you with love and joy. It leans more feminin however you must have the character as it meant for the serious and elegant souls.

A stunning spicy amber rose composition.

An outstanding fragrance in every sense, with a beautiful spicy-amber profile. Performance is excellent, offering over 7 hours of longevity on skin and around 4 hours of strong projection. It feels very luxurious and refined. While the price is slightly high for the 35 ml size, the scent quality and performance more than justify the cost.

Certainly in my top 4 ambers for life. BEAUTIFUL Well rounded, well seasoned, unisex, slightly smoky/ashy, like a slightly more balsamic version of By The Fireplace, not too sweet, slightly gourmand leaning amber fragrance. FBW More complex than Grand soir but not as complex as Amber Star

Sweet and spicy jasmine. Slightly animalic. Perfectly/Masterfully blended. The first time I smelled this, I judged too harshly. Luckily, I know that frags tend to grow on me so I kept the decant. It reminds me of a great cup of hot black tea with sugar and added spices

I have a 30ml bottle nearly full, full presentation if anyone is interested. $70 plus shipping. Very, very, very nice scent--BUT my wife HATES it, and the scent is too heavy for work unless I am extremely light on the trigger. Message if you'd like it. CONUS only.

If you think Tango is an amber fragrance, then you might disappointed, because cumin take the main role in this fragrance, and smell like a little bit chinese herbal medicinal, dry down more amber vibe, quite unique, good for cold weather night Tango is 8/10

I think it's the best amber perfume released in the last 10 years. I am frowned when I first smelled it, but these days I'm using it with pleasure. I think with a nice dosage, it can be used in all four seasons, of course excluding hot summer days.

This is the ONLY Masque Milano I love. And my skin brings out the rose in Tango most. I don’t mind, I love rose. Amber and rose playing footsies. Then I get some sandalwood. It’s not linear, it changes . I love it. Very well done.

Just sprayed Tango on thinking “wow this is nice.” Walked out into the living room where my wife immediately says “what’s that smell? It smells like cinnamon air freshener and poop.” Thanks babe, your nose is a national treasure.

A superb spicy amber added to my growing amber collection, it's special enough to warrant a full bottle. I already the have the current 35ml and just added the 100ml vintage bottle from 2016-had to get a back-up, I can't wait.

Beautiful fragrance. I don't understand all the negative comments. I believe it is unisex and would be very sexy on a woman. On the sweet side with some spiciness. No BO smell at all. Great for a night out.

At first it didn't like it! At all. For the first 5 minutes. Felt like urine. Then WOW , it evolves so surprisingly! Gorgeous, deep, sexy! The name of it it's definitely suggestible!

Tango sounded like a fragrance I would enjoy simply looking at the notes, and once I purchased a sample, immediately purchased a full bottle. Spicy, ambery, seduction in a bottle.

Fantastic...an amber/cinnamon with a little spice in the background experience done with class. Great longevity and sillage. One of may favorites, a true masterpiece. Well done.

Love this parfum! This is a game changer. I love the cumin and woodsy bouquet. Be warned, if you wear this, your mate will be all over you. It’s a natural aphrodisiac.

Mükemmel bir koku, bence biraz daha feminen çizgide. Amber ve baharat ile tam bir sonbahar-kış kokusu. Palto ve atkıda koklamak isteyeceğim türden.

The base is similar to chanel coromandel, but the tone is much more oriental! This one is sharper and stronger. I prefer it to coromandel.

Strong...I accidently put on too much and my wife noticed the over-intensity. So....this is one you need only 2-3 sprays max.

Opens with a spicy, seductive punch!...dries down to a powdery resinous vanillic amber. Very, VERY SEXY amber.

Yes, this is a spicy amber fragrance, but I can’t be the only one getting leather...an iris leather??
