Daylight Parfum

Open a bit juicy but goes straight into florals that blends into a nice almost sunscreen scent, very female leaning. not bad

@cheval blanc - Ambrettolide is a sweet fruity musk and yes it can give a sweet-sour sensation too, so your nose is correct, even if it wasn't mentioned in the notes often musks would be in the formula. Notes are just notes, they can be literally anything. To me Daylight is a perfect solar-floral with a unique musk-amber base. Overall sensation of the scent is reminiscent of various floral bushes fencing private swimming pools in the Mediterranean, such as oleanders but on steroids. At initial spray I get a sweet heliotropin-like honeyed aspect, perhaps more akin to ylang-ylang and with a touch of osmanthus, along with lemon sherbet citral type citrus sweetness. It smells like a luxury sun lotion, without the typical leftover sunscreen effect of salicylates, but more of the fragrance on initial applications. The plum note is surely jammy rose ketones (damascones) in combination with actual rose ingredients. The base smells quite vanillic, most likely in combination with patchouli so it's in line with the traditional amber accords. The praline note is also very distinct to my nose, which is a nice addition supporting a different effect on the heart and base. With that said, this is a quite feminine creation, and would work as an ideal summer afternoon/evening scent.

The dry down has a similar DNA to Massimo Dutti 's Golden Bloom, which ironically I'm not a fan of. They have that expensive lotion smell that's similar to Molton Brown's body wash. There is a strong opening of rose petal and that "suede" vibe. I mistakenly sprayed twice on myself to work and I ended feeling a bit lightheaded to the point I felt giving up doing anything too taxing or just simply too drained to feel too riled up with general stresses through the day (I guess sort of a good thing!). I'm stuck with a 100ml bottle so I guess I'll have to find a way to layer this with another smell to balance it out.

First of all: quite impressive performance for this price. Good quality cap and bottle, the juice itself smells decent and feminine. In the cap the dry down was promising. On my skin it turned into a sweet and sour musky floral however there is no musk in the list of notes. I am always glad to see a bunch of florals in the heart notes list, these days its quite rare. Especially to see the carnation which I adore. I am giving a good point for the marketing: name and theme is on point. It is a day time scent, inoffensive and office friendly adult scent.

Probably inspired by Galop from Hermes. But far more fruity and sweet, though. Good lasting power and heavy sillage.
