Sandy Papyrus

An interpretation of the original Tommy by Tommy Hilfiger, with what I guess the Amber Xtreme is amped up, the Tommy already features this but in very reasonable levels (Amber Xtreme is very common dry-woody-amber ingredient in a lot of modern masculine formulas, being overdosed especially in post-2010 creations to the levels of throat scratching, think of Montales’ screechy woody sillage). Sandy Papyrus also features Tommy’s noticable clove (Eugenol) and basil sweet-freshness, with a hint of transparent cinnamon. Cardamom is not very noticable to me, but I have to assume it’s there since even in low levels it blends great to add depth but could be tricky to pick out alone (if notes did not list cardamom, i would not easily think of it, but Eugenol is so obvious). Transparent sandalwood molecules at the base in combination of some other woodsy materials creating a hint, just a hint from scents such as D&G The One, Vera Wang men, Tom Ford for men. I think Massimo Dutti is hitting the right spots with some of their fragrances, for the price this is a steal of a day to day fresh (but lasting) classy masculine smell without being too generic.

I hate this one. Gosh Tommy smells heavenly compared to this. I don't see much similarity at all, to be honest. This is, as it describes, sandy papyrus. Papyrus in the worst and driest kind imaginable. I believe cardamom is responsible for it. Cardamom, basil, patchouli, tonka beans, leather... just nope. These are perfect recipes for disaster. If you want a good papyrus scent, try Bvlgari pour Homme Soir. The difference is heaven and hell.

Maybe boring, but great stuff, In the beginning it smelled almost like some bug repellent to my nose, but my wife always compliments me after applying this in the morning, and she compliments after work in the afternoon, 8-9 hous after. I even got complimented at work wearing this, which is far from normal in my country. Fabrice Pellegrin really knows how to make a long lasting, great smelling, compliment getting perfume, with a normal budget. The notes stated is pretty accurate, cardamom, basil and sandalwood. Great stuff, for the price, i recommend it

I just recieved this for my birthday🎉🎉🎶🎶I told my wife to choose the best for her, she Is very picky and her nose Is extremely sensitive, she loved this one, and me too. Is a master piece, pleasant, very safe scent. If you like LHomme le parfum, edt, or Cologne, Cardamom, and a fruity fresh ending with sandalwood and Tonka bean I believe you will like it. I like Tommy, buy imo does not Smell like Tommy, this Is way better, and well blended master piece. 10/10

Cardamom is the main player here. It's a fresh light sweet cardamom with some juicy sweetness in the background. 8 / 10.
