White Tulip & Myrrh

I bought a fragrance from Massimo Dutti for the first time, and I did it blindly (which is odd because I’ve had about 50 Zara perfumes). I’d tested a few scents in their stores before, but none of them really caught my attention. I’d been eyeing White Tulip & Barley for a while, but when White Tulip & Myrrh dropped, I grabbed it straight away. I’m familiar with the original, Bal D'Afrique by Byredo, and the inclusion of myrrh in that same fragrance family intrigued me. The moment I sprayed it, a smile spread across my face. You can immediately tell the connection to Byredo, but in a slightly different version – and no alcohol scent, just beautiful fragrance straight off the bat. While Byredo tends to give a more airy, dry effect thanks to vetiver, White Tulip & Myrrh is creamy and balsamic, probably due to the myrrh. The scent is incredibly intense, to the point that I only spray it on a back of my neck. But when I do, I absolutely adore the way it lingers in the air, leaving noticeable scent trail for 2-3 hours. On me, it lasts around 7-8 hours, though I only use 2-3 sprays, since as I mentioned, it’s potent. When sniffing it up close, I’d give it a solid 7/10, but in the air, it’s a strong 8.5/10. Given the price, I think it’s a really good-quality and unique fragrance. That said, the bottle feels a bit cheap, even compared to Zara’s. The cap is just a piece of plastic, and when it arrived, the label already had air bubbles that couldn’t be fixed. As for the seasons, I think this one works perfectly for autumn, winter, spring, and even cooler summer evenings—up to about 20°C. Edit: After over a week, my sweater still smells pretty strong of that perfume.

This is a lovely everyday comforting scent. Very classy and uplifting.

Its like bal D'afrique cousin...

Very creamy and intense. Deep and dark without being too suffocating. Perfect for early spring and late autumn weather. Lasted 6 hours on me before turning into a nice skin scent. Loved it and will consider buying it. (This smells so similar to something I’ve tested before, but I just cannot remember what perfume it reminds me of... Don’t even know where to start, but it’s not any of the ones listed (BdA, La Tulipe).)

This basically smells like a soft, perfumey makeup powder. It evokes the image of a fuzzy mauve blanket. It is quite linear and would benefit from some complexity. It doesn't remind me of Bal D'Afrique. Smell: 7 out of 10 Strength: 7 out of 10 Feminine For reference, I'm female.
