Midnight Honey

Tried it at the Polaris perfume week and I fell in love with it and purchased a full bottle. Beautiful floral, smoky, uplifting opening that later turns into a smoky honey-vanilla combo with some hints of resins and leather that is absolutely not cloying and extremely well done. Performance wise it’s pretty good, leaves a strong but not overpowering sillage for 3-4 hours and then sits closer to the skin for another 5 hours, so around a 9 hour longevity in total.

I fell in love too at the first sniff at the Polaris perfume week and bought a travel size. Very beautiful warm honey and yellow flowers fragrance with a stark but not annoying burnt leather that recalls aromatic incense. Wonderful, I cannot stop smelling it.

Disclaimer: I won this in a generous giveaway here in Fragrantica. The discourse between the brand and myself was friendly and the perfume arrived from Romania to Finland in just a couple of workdays. Therefore my review will be honest but naturally slightly affected by my positive experience. Beautiful opening that is both fruity, floral and smoky. A perfectly unisex introduction. The honey effect starts slowly appearing and to me it acts similarly as the honey idea in Chopard Miel d’Arabie: as quite fruity and floral, even fresh. A completely different take on honey than for instance Back to Black or Mamluk. In the mid I’m somehow reminded of Lalique’s hidden gem Zamak and even the legendary V&R Antidote. This must be the duality of white florals and the resinous and leathery base notes. The drydown is my favorite part - luckily so, as the drydown is usually what we’re married to with perfumes for most of their lifespan. I get a fruity vanilla combined with leathery and resinous notes, distantly reminding me of Nishane Ani’s famous base effect. Here the feeling is more natural as it should be, this house is about natural perfumery after all. Sometimes I get also a cool (as opposed to warm) woody effect, like with Iso E Super at its best, but again more natural. I wore this perfume for two weeks straight, which doesn’t happen often when a collection has expanded to have plenty of variety for each day. It complimented the zero celsius weather and wintery darkness so well, but also gave an uplifting and optimistic effect. The intended duality of shadow and light really comes to life in this perfume for me. EDIT: As a final thought, I personally classify this as a white floral-amber-leather perfume with a waxy honey touch. I can warmly recommend it to any gender and to many climates, as it seems to adjust beautifully.
