Mauboussin in Red

Ok that’s the 7th perfume of this house that i own and again Mauboussin impressed me 👏 My nose perceives this scent more like Gucci Rush ( if compared to ,,similar to’’ perfumes) and also reminds me Coco Mademoiselle . I’m not getting Baccarat or Burberry her by now ( but will see how it grows on me ) Noone mentioned Maboussin Elixir for her ( it’s not very famous i think) but to me In red is like Elixir for her without praline , but with apple instead. The base of these 2 frags is almost identical - identically addictive 😍

Another perfume in the BR or Burberry's area... such a pleasent fragrance, perfect for spring and fall. Elegant, vibrant, luminous and fruity. The longevity could be better...

More fruity for me...almost no floral. Very strawberry than apple. But I like it...fresh clean and little bit sweetness. Sillage and longevity seems good for me.

I would never have tried this off the back of the scent pyramid as I am wary of anything with blackcurrant and/or praline. I got a sample of this free when buying a decant of another perfume. I sprayed it on a piece of fabric, thought meh it's mediocre and forgot about it. A whole week later I was sitting and could smell a gorgeous smell- it was coming from the fabric. I then tried this on skin and it's a revelation. Really lovely, sweet, woody and deep without being sickly or too sugary fruity. I've never smelled BR540 so can't comment on that but it's a million times nicer than Burberry Her or Cloud which both smell basic, generic and harshly synthetic to me. Lasts forever on fabric. Average longevity on skin. Nice sillage- you can smell yourself but you're not going to trigger anyone's asthma or annoy anybody ( I do one throat spray and one on each wrist). I would definitely consider a small bottle or partial for next Autumn and Winter.

What an interesting blind buy! Orange Mentos candy with applejuice and peonywater! In a fluffy cloud with a slightly sour white musk edge. On clothes you can really smell an apple. Its fresh, fruity sour and sweet and is definately not giving natural vibes (but that is what’s making it youthfull) Be carefull not to overspray because this red girl does not want to be loud, she already made a statement. I personally would wear this one in fall and winter in the Crispy fresh air, heels and sunglasses on.. you get it right? Ps: Not everything Ambroxy is related to Baccarat people :-)

Very fruit-forward dupe of BR540, actually a lighter approach to Burberry's "Her". Sweet crisp red apple & black currant at the top, becomes sweeter, warmer, and a touch deeper as the scent progresses. Good longevity, around 5 hours with light sillage. Perfect for warmer months, spring and summer.

a dupe for baccarat with less intensity, less sweet and honestly like it better. Not really a fan of perfumes with too high of a sillage and this one doesnt do that. With this packaging, itd make a great christmas present.

After a very berry start,the ambrox take place at full power and stays for a day on your skin,i am a true slave to love about Mauboussin,so for me is exceptional,but i can’t say the same on your tastes.

Ambroxan and apple. It smells like bakkarat rouge 540. If you like that perfume, you will probably like this one too. It has good projection and longevity. Its cheap too.

On me it reminds me of Sí Armani at first and it slowly develops to resemble Baccarat Rouge 540.

I haven't tried Baccarat Rouge yet, but I did compare it to Ariana Grande's Cloud today. I find that they have the same kind of vibe, but this is more obvious in the dry down. In the opening, In Red is definitely more fruity, with the red apple tone resembling some yummy jelly beans smell, while Cloud is more coconut cream. After the first 15min they both start settling into this comforting and addictive scent, that lasts 10+ hours. So, I personally prefer this version more, because I feel it has more body while Cloud is more airy.

Luckily I don’t see much resemblance with Baccarat Rouge 540. I can’t feel the Ambroxan which makes Baccarat Rouge so repulsive. This is almost identical with Rouge Royal Princesse Marina De Bourbon. It’very sweet but fruity sweet not caramel or sugar sweet. Only suitable for Winter, way too sweet for summertime. The longevity is very very poor, after 5 minutes almost disappeared completely. The bottle is beautiful and interesting but to spray it and actually use it is an entire adventure.

I couldn't believe it but it indeed is a more wearable, fresher version of BR540. Somehow it is similar to all of these three - BR540, Burberry Her and Cloud - but remains a separate and bearable perfume for anyone who can't stand any of them (like myself, I can only tolerate BR). If I smelled it on someone, I'd think he/she layered BR with something else on top to make it less boring nowadays.

I bought this after watching review on YouTube and it was a big mistake do not read Fragrantica before the purchase. Big, big mistake! First of all - a huge "no" for me if a perfume is inspired by BR540 which I dislike. Secondly, after few min of wearing this perfume my nose catched up overpowered underton which smells like second hand clothes So my conclusion - there is nothing similar to Gucci Rush which was mentioned by some of other reviewers (the reason I bought this perfume) and I definitely will not buy it again. However if you like BR540, yes, I would recommend it for its similarly, intencivity and a price.

It's one of the most perfect copies for Baccarat Rouge 540 - I didn't know that when I got it. Since I dislike BR540 with a passion, this smells horrible to me - I smell nothing else but the dreaded Ambroxan. If you like BR540, this is a great dupe.

And the golden raspberry goes to Mauboussin in red! One of the most appealing bottles out there carries the cheapest smelling chemical poison. Just awfull. Holds for centuries.

The ambroxan is all I can smell, I had to keep the arm I tried it on far away from me, it lasts a lot though

A sweet floral with a juicy fruity opening. It is also quite airy as in the sweetness does not get cloying, which I like. I would not say this is a BR540 dupe or anything of the sort, try it as a standalone frag, as it is quite nice and forget about this comparaison. Yes, it has ambroxan, but that does not make it similar to BR540. Mauboussin does good frags, at a very decent price tag. Very good longevity and sillage. Appropriate to be worn as a signature perfume😍

Smells EXACTLY like Burberry Her. Surprised it hasn't become TIKTOK famous as a dupe for BH. Like, I sprayed it on myself and thought, 'where have I smelled this before?' Then came here and realized it smells just like Burberry HER does on me. It's not too sweet on me so it matches up like literally 1:1. I think I paid $20 for a 3.4oz bottle. So if you like BH and want to save money, get a bottle of Maubossin in Red. Also smells like a Fruitchouli.

I bought it two months before Christmas it's just because i love the bottle in red! Smells so fruity and fresh! Makes your day fill with joyful if you are wearing it. I like the dry down , it has the musky and woody smells. On my skin it last from 7am in the morning till 3pm in the afternoon.. But sillage and projection will only last long for 5hours. Edited after sniffing Burberry for her = really smells alike!

Civilized form of Baccarat Rouge 540. Not the industrial hammer-hit-to-the-head strength of it, but the same scent of solar-lacquered-wood in moderate amount, feminized by lovely fruity top that reminded me of raspberries and wild berries rather than apple. The bottle fits the scent well. It is very pretty. If you want a wearable Baccarat Rouge for femme - this is it.

Whilst not into linear gourmands, this scent has a special place in my heart: it is xmas feeling in a bottle. Warm fruits, motherhood and apple pie, and a scent the children will just love. Not for every day but towards the end of the year, in our home this one has been privileged again for the second year. Given the very modest pricing, this is not a seasonal fail.

That's the weirdest perfume I own, it starts super light and sweet after 20 minutes it gets powdery and a few minutes after that it gets stiff like wine if that makes sence 😅I like it though, it's mature in a very unique way! Definitely a winter-autumn perfume, I don't think I can wear this in summer heat

Lovely smell as others say, but on me for some reason it lasted only a couple of minutes, so I sprayed on my jumper and it lasted about an hour. The bottles of perfume by Maboussin should win awards - gorgeous!

This is a cute scent. Sweet and fruity, decent longevity and affordable. I wouldn't liken it to Baccarat Rouge (as that doesn't smell sweet to my nose), it is more similar to Zara's Go Fruity.

Why does it smell like sweet ketchup to me? I kinda hate it. Had to give it away. The good thing is that I’ve bought a travel size version 😐

I think it's very similar to Guess Seductive Red.. It's simple... But it's good..

It's very weak and ordinary clean scent.

... and then comes praline... Oh, dear.

Can someone tell something about it?
