Mauboussin Pour Lui in Red

Last update, Wearing this again with some colder weather and I sprayed some on my clothes. This really is a great value of you're looking for something cheaper to dumb reach. The ginger makes this bright for daytime and office wear but also gives a nice twist that sounds out in the wild. This lasts longer on my skin now and it expect it to last very long on clothes. The dry down is very comforting. Lavender and sandalwood are blended very well. Not sure if letting it set changed to composition drastically or this just shines on true cold weather. Either way this gets a solid 8 from me. Fresh, warm, spicy, good office scent for colder weather. Spray on paper smells a bit generic but on skin for me brings out the warmness. I like it, I'll give a full proper review when colder weather hits. I did give my self a little test spray on the arm. It's been about 3 hours and we're down to the base notes. Longevity doesn't seem to be a highlight with this fragrance but I do like the smells. Well blended for sure. The leathery woody base is really the highlight with the ginger and vetiver keeping things interesting. If it lasted longer this would be a 10/10 for me. Medium projection btw

Mauboussin Pour Lui in Red is very low note warm, fruity, spicy and slightly gourmet Eau de Parfum. Very loud opening but dries down to endearing warmth with a black-cherry gourmet vibe. Quite a bold fragrance in its EDP concentration so apply only a couple of sprays per side and one to each wrist, too many are definitely overkill with this fragrance as its strong and bold. Not as powerful as the legendary Mancera Red Tobacco but getting close to it! A lot of hate in the comments below but I don't find that at all! Note: This is an EDP and EDP's can be fussy about Ph skin values! I have dry skin and EDP's are okay here, but may be fussy with sweaty, oily skin that can change the aroma. I have nothing but love for Mauboussin Pour Lui in Red, I find it to be very low notes, vibey, certainly alive and kicking with an alluring deepness that should be applied with respect to earn respect! Compliments in its strong wafty sillage have already been extended to me and will probably continue to do so. I bought another back-up bottle as I'm going to use this through winter.

WOW...this is so much nicer than expected. Tucked right in between V&R Spicebomb and Spicebomb Infrared. Warm and spicy with a boozy fruity (almost redwine or cherry brandy) accord. I know it's supposed to have a leather accord too, but to me it comes across almost like coffee in the background. A lot different from what I thought it would be from just looking at the notes...and way way better. Sprayed it at 9 AM and at 8 PM it's still very much there as a skinscent...excellent longevity. If you like your spicy designer or "western" middle eastern frags, ignore the poor reviews and give this a try...pretty sure you won't be disapointed. Also please ignore the comparison to Fahrenheit...those poor folks must still have Corona noses...there's not a Violet leaf to be found in this. Quality juice at a discount price...I'll be wearing this a lot this fall and winter.

This one is a timid attempt to replicate a well good forgotten fragrance from Mugler's A*men serie - The Taste of Fragrance. Which alone is a mess. I'm sure that those who compared this with Fahrenheit, are the same that have made the negative reviews ... and they never , ever were even close to try it (or to Fahrenheit). Just nothing in common. The bottle is sexy, the juice is not bad at all! Come on- you pay hundreds of $ or € just to smell like like artificial kids chewing gum- this fragrance gives you a similar feeling without the ovewelming or the overpowering from the other "kitsch" companies nowadays.

This is really nice. There is a strong olfactory illusion of cherry in here. It reminds me of the interior of my old supercharged Hyundai coupe V6. Leather seats and cherry air freshener. Some comparisons to Fahrenheit in other comments. This is generally unfair, this is not an atmospheric, iso-e-super scent. The leather is there so its a nice, old school, motor enthusiast type signature scent. The juniper, geranium and vetiver give this a big, zingy cherry vibe, but once the juniper loses its zing, the geranium becomes more dominant and it becomes a lot more sensual and floral. I like this more than "Une Histoire.." but it's not as good as Mauboussin's "Pour Homme"(Alberto Morillas) or "Discovery"(an apple and cardamom Aventus-inspired)

Errr, so this seems to be a curious one. Am I missing something here or are Mauboussin doing different batches of "Pour Lui In Red" with vastly different juice in the bottles coz the reviews here are all over the place in terms of "smells like"?... I've just bought this from a respected online seller in the UK and worn it for two days. To my nose, it opens with a similar aura to Thierry Mugler - A*Men A Taste Of Fragrance (sort of) and a little bit Spicebomb Infrared ('ish) but off my skin at least the dry down is almost a ringer for Dior Sauvage Elixir..........no really. Either way, it punches well above its weight - a successful blind buy and I agree, great value for money. Me like-y! 🙂👏

Generic scent profile. Very common scent. Sweet, boring, overdone.

I bought it purely because of the bottle, with zero reviews on yt/fragrantica at the time I ordered it + I never owned any of the previous fragrances from this house. what a shitty decision it was. it's an instant dislike and already among the worst fragrances I've ever bought, if not the worst. it literally fails at everything. it's a very, very synthetic smell, but more important - it's not very likeable. seriously, couple of times I thought it smells closer to something you'd spray on ants to get rid of them. I'm looking at the notes and I simply can't imagine which note could possibly smell like that. on top of that, you get your usual soft, silent scent, which would be deemed as bad projector in past, but now we are being polite and say things like "good for close encounters". like you would ever wear this when you're with someone, lol. btw, that description on fragrantica - "charismatic, adventurer, James Bond of modern times". seriously? they spent more time on that shitty text and the bottle than on the actual juice. something like this should cost about 10$ max. I doubt I'll be buying from this house again.

What a dreadful fragrance!A total disaster,nobody should try a so flat and boring scent,the worst in decades!It should have no price for a such meaningless scent!But what is about?A faint freshness over a plain and undescripted woody contrast.That's all.

Average scent. Not worth the price. Too sweet. Not like any other perfume. I bought it after seeing some good reviews on this site. I will never blind buy again.

This is a very sophisticated gentleman like perfume. I'm not at all a fan of leather as scent note, but in this one it is so harmonious, I love it. The opening is directly a junipress flanked by the ginger aromatic scent. The Bergamot stays a bit in the background. But than it opens up to a strange mix of cholcolate-coffee that changes into lavender-geranium but very faint on the background ] Then it is evolving into the sandal-leather-wood mix that is very harmonious and balanced. This is a very nice gentleman like perfume that is very diplomatic so to say. It is present but not to much and yet strong and aromatic and indeed more male. Good for every season but definitely more for colder weather.

I smelt a distinct mocca type coffee note, was a little shocked not to see it in the listed notes chart, hehe 🫤

Every fragrance in a red bottle has an "invisible cherry" note. Lol.
