Mauboussin Pour Lui

Wow love at first sniff with this one! Damn this smells good...Dark woody but very soft and fresh. This is one of those frags you can wear anywhere, anytime, any season. Star Anise and Lavender blast in here and i presume the Ebony is what's giving off that dark but smooth woody vibe. Speaking of vibe, this has a high-end red velvet luxurious vibe to it. I cannot see how anybody would be offended by this. Wear this casually and you will smell dressed up. Date night/formal occasions appropriate too, definetly. Double thumbs up and a star.

Wow! Unique and pleasent smell! Very discrete, well made... gives you the feeling you are rich person with good taste. I think , I will overspray it today and will confront my female colleagues at work... it is a steal for the current price. Very well made!!! Reminds me a lot of one of the flankers ... the serie Eau de Cartier ... this very well blendet but very light fragrances... which exactly ?!

I don't understand most reviews here about this fragrance and the amount of dislikes, to me this is one of those fragrances that it's hard do dislike, manly woody musk, quite pleasing and inoffensive. A SA showed me this more then a year ago, I got a sample and didn't think much about this one, it was winter and this was not what i was looking for, more then a year later I was trying to figure out a few samples without name on it, and tried this one on my skin, it brought back to my mind this fragrance and it was exactly what i was looking for spring and summer! Went to the store and it checked out, got another sample and I'm really liking it, a bottle it's on is way. This is a very elegante fragrance, very manly but not too loud, like a very clean woody musk, very good for spring and summer night, also, I think this can be used in winter and fall. Very versatile fragrance, if you want to smell clean and elegante this is a good choice. It's also very well blended and the quality of ingredients seems top notch, much better then most designer houses, I can't say this is like niche quality, it's not, but a step forward then most popular designers out there, it's so well blended that it's hard to smell any particular note, maybe lavender, that one it's what I smell most. if I could describe this fragrance, it's a very nice modern take of a more tradicional clean musk fragrance, very manly and I would say for ages 30+, it smells sophisticated and much more expensive than it is, also, the best part it's that I bought this for 24€ 100ml!! But I must say, although I haven't found a fragrance that's close to this one, it has indeed some classic/generic feel to it, but this is not in a bad way, it's actually what I really like about this fragrance. I really like this one, it's not groundbreaking, but it's a very simple yet elegante fragrance for a gentleman, even in retail prices is very worth the money. I get good longevity (about 8h) and good projection for the first 2/3 hours, much better then most fragrances in this category. For the price and for such quality simple fragrance this is a 10/10

Pour Lui!,,, Another Pour Lui?,,, Well, Don't judge too fast this concoction. Its not "In your Face" fragrance. Ok, There's nothing really super masterpiece or groundbreaking here. But if you compare this one for majority of "Summer / Fresh" or "Sport / L'Eau" boring flankers today its not bad at all!. Give it some time to develope and show its own good characteristics. It is aromatic & kind of freshy ,but not banal fougere at all. This fragrance is quite aromatic, with soft spicy character layered nicely on pleasant woody notes. It has something aquatic in it too. Like Mediterranean Sea in overall impression. Its actually not so potent to be a "Eau de Parfum" and more like e.d.t. or Cologne style, it has almost moderate longevity and between soft and moderate silage. I think its very good for spring / summer time for daily use (maybe even for autumn...) and great choice for office too. Lucky me, its doesn't smell like any "synthetic mess" on my skin... Package, bottle and spray have a great quality. Test it if its possible :) I like it. Solid like it! PS: Check out the new version "In Black" of 2014.

I worn this for my very first time and my girlfriend was like - You are smelling so good tonight! And she repeated this twice. So.... Lovely scent, I like it and I think is quite masculine, not in your face, very pleasant and it changes within 2 hours which I really like. It changes from a very basic citrusy and spicy aromatic to an almost unique woody plus the freshness and spiciness from the opening. Lovely one. I hope it will last at least 8 hours on the skin. Otherwise will be disappointing considering this lovely smell and good projection especially with this price.

Eau de parfum with an eau de cologne performance. I like the smell, but it fades out so fast...

#813 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Third out of four of my Mauboussin blind buys. So far, one strong passing grade (Une Historie d'Homme Irresistible), one utter fail (Cristal Oud), and at first sniff I thought this would be a success. But I'm kind of neutral on this one for the reason I usually come up neutral: sillage. The opening is delicious for sure. Lots I appreciate in a man's scent like oak moss, caraway, star anise, wormwood, cedar and not so much lavender that it comes off shower gel. Opens as a nice, dry, North Woods green. For about fifteen minutes. You can spray this on till your skin has a slick like the Gulf of Mexico in a oil rig failure and the projection is still nothing to get excited about. It's really an EDT if you're generous, cologne if you're not, but not an EDP. At $19 you really can't scream about quality too much, and at intimate range it's enjoyable enough. As to the "reminds me of" entries. This is not A&F Fierce at all. That's a much better scent. There's some resemblance to Platinum Egoiste. I probably would take this over Egoiste. Not a fan. But it's really closer to Azzaro Pour Homme in notes and performance (I really wish they'd do an EDP of that one). Given the choice of which to spray on, I'd give the Azzaro's performance a slight edge over this, and it's actually cheaper in the small bottle, so you can try it out with little risk. If you like this notes combo, and you're willing to drop more money for better performance, you could go for Dior Eau Sauvage ($75), Eau Sauvage Extreme ($125) or even a less expensive but more complex scent in this ballpark like Aramis Tuscany Per Uomo ($58) (Sadly the "Forte" version was discontinued and the eBay scalpers have it at $450+). With the Aramis you still get the anise, lavender, caraway, oakmoss, but it's spicier, woodier, leathery, and just does this whole vibe in a more masculine and interesting way, albeit you may get mocked for owning an old school fragrance like Aramis, though it really isn't grandad juice at all. Nevertheless, this scent is certainly car pool, elevator, office and date night approved, not a club scent as they probably will not notice this from more than arm's length.

I had it about 10 years ago, and remember liking the scent, but I gave it away because of subpar performance. Saw it very cheap at discounter sale and decided to buy it again. Wish I would buy me a cup of coffee and gave $10 tip to lazy barista instead. Compared to new 2022 batch my old version was a world champ. I already knew it needs overspraying, so I blasted 8 full sprays on my forearm. As soon as alcohol evaporated it immediately was skin scent, and 10 minutes later I couldn't smell anything at all, even when my nose literally touches my arm. I decided, what a heck, how about 15 more sprays on the same spot? It took me a minute to recover from alcohol vapors. Still skin scent, but what a miracle this time! It lasted whole 15 minutes!

Bought it at a famous shopping mall in malaysia.Im pretty sure that i got the original juice bottle of this.The scent of this perfume are pretty good(mostly get good compliment from mature ladies).However im very very dissapointed with the poor sillage and projection which is very weak and became the weakness of this juice.it such a shame that it called an eau de parfum ,but actually it just behave as an eau de cologne. Only buy this perfume if you are already have girlfriend or married.The reason is because the sillage is too weak ,the smell of this only can be notice by bury ur nose on ur skin or a very close distance(5cm distance from the nose on ur skin). Now is about the longevity,the longevity of this is as poor as it sillage.Stayed on my skin maximum 3 hours,thats it.After the 3 hours it totally vanished on my skin.Since i bought it,I need to respray every 3 hours with good 6 pump on the trigger only to get someone to notice that you are wearing perfumes.For everyone information,i live in malaysia which is summer all the time with 32 degree heat. If guys out there wish to get this perfume with hope to attract another new girl friend,i would say please save your money to something else which is better.Hence if you are already married ,you can try get one of this and your girlfriend or wife will like it.Would like to say this is a cuddling scents. Overall points Scent -8/10 Sillage -2/10 Projection -1/10 Longevity-3/10

So boring like a synthetic generic ! sold as eau de parfum and Worth than an eau de cologne... don't waist your money.

When this house has one special quality then it is the discrete and noble quality of their perfumes. Not that i have tested all of them or like them, but that is what I noticed. Having said this, this one fits very well in this description. I have some favorites like the Oud version and the In Black one. Then comes this one. This one it very noble and yet humble. It opens with a very shy lavender that gets stronger in the first wave. Then it evolves into woody-herbal scent that projects that noble and yet humble classic style. Then the herbal scent, in which the anis-caraway tone gets louder, goes into a bit sour-fresh note and in the end it evolves a bit floral with some soft powder-amber like note. For my nose it is a bit like the Oud version but much more subtle. This is very gentle and nice perfume for all occasion and definitely for casual use. When to wear? For my feeling a bit more in moderate weather so in autumn, winter, spring. This is a very balanced perfume. For a eau de parfum it is not strong but present.

It opens with aromatic, fresh-sweetness of lavender as the top note. Then becomes just a bit warm and spicy with star anise and also some bitter-woody nuance from ebony, oakmoss and cedar adds in. That's all. Didn't get anything more and it vanished pretty quickly from my skin. Tested it again on another part of my skin and got the same result. It seems quite generic and linear to me. But it could be a nice and unoffensive scent for everyday wear and for office work if it actually stayed on a man's skin. I can sum it up as a bitter-sweet, semi-fresh, aromatic woody scent.

I sampled this in my local "Beauty Base" store,I was attracted by the very stylish bottle & box. However,after spraying a lavish 2 or 3 spritzs on my arm,within moments,it had vanished. Just a whiff of alcohol. Def not one to waste your money on. Having studied the notes & composition on Fragrantica & Basenotes,I was expecting so much more.

Sweet lavender with some hint of star anise, if you like fragrances like CK eternity, drakkar noir or that kind of aromatic fougere like with that tipical spice lavender with a touch of greens this is a go to. Performance is not the best but it's definitely worth what you pay for.

My dad used to have this when i was a kid about 10 years ago. Forgot about it for years and randomly remembered cause i have become very interested in fragrances. Don’t remember exactly what this smelt like but i loved it so much. It’s a really good perfume.

i like the scent but you need to spray more to smell it. i have to spray 5 to 6 times to really smell the fragrance and also it doesnt project. it is just close to the skin. dont be fooled by the eau de parfum tag. i like it but i wont buy it again

Love the smell. But the performance is VERY bad. Bought it in Singapore. The silage is poor too. The scent is amazing. But with a performance this poor, it doesn't matter. NOT WORTH BUYING. :(

Tested side by side. This is the nocturnal version of L'Instant de Guerlain PH. Fantastic stuff! More creamier, more smooth, amazing!

I BOUGHT THIS FRAGRANCE FROM PARIS AND IT WAS VERY NICE AND MODERN AT THE SAME TIME. RECOMANDED STRONGLY FOR PEOPLE ABOVE 30+ ONLY.

The smell is good but I should admit that I wasted my money for this, it doesn't even remain for mid-time! Not gonna buy it again!
