Promise Me

Very good smelling stuff for young and old. I could'nt write a better review than Arlene_witha_Y did. You really hit the character of this perfume! The sillage is a little bit to close to the skin, but you can smell it on yourselve. In the frosty weather it doesn't develop, at home it begins to bloom.

I really enjoy this! It’s crisp fresh and clean in the bright opening but then something about this reminds me of the smell of a fresh rose wine. 🍷 it’s kind of fruity in the way wine can be, in other words not sugary. It’s kinda tart then dries down to become sweeter. I love it from beginning to end.

I don't understand when people ask "Where is the rose?" because the rose just hit my nose on the first spray. lol but yes I agree that this is like a syrupy patchouly-rose. I tried to use this before bedtime, and would still have a hint of the rose in the morning.

One of my most complimented parfum ever. Sweetly fruity, the rose and its patchouli, slightly clean after a while as a pure musk can be. A winner, but I wouldn’t have loved it when I was younger as I love it now.

Me too - I love it a lot. It is definitely similar to Si, but gentler. Very nice. Oh, and I love the bottle and box too! Gorgeous.

I really like this one and the bottle is beautiful. Usually I don't pay much attention to the bottle design, all I require is to be able to use it in a comfortable and safe way (a friend of mine accidentally dropped my 100 ml bottle of Shisheido Zen on her toes, she was in pain and limping for a few days). I prefer the manufacturers to direct the wast majority of the money towards creating and manufacturing the parfume itself in good quality, but in this case I must comment on the uniquness and beauty of the bottle. The juice is very nice. All I wanted was a patchouli heavy rose parfume for fall and "Promise me" delivers. I can't really smell anything else, just the earthy patchouli and sweet, ripe rose and it meets my mood today a 100%. It is dim and foggy, but the parfume surrounds me in this nice scent bubble making me smile. The sillage is good, with 4 sprays I fill a small room with my scent. Longevity is also all right, it lasts on me around 5-6 hours. It is a mature scent, but definatelly not outdated imo. It has an elegant but not standoffish vibe, the woman wearing it is well dressed, her makeup is not loud, she is well put together but also friendly. Like me on my better days. :D Maybe it is not new or unique, but I have nothing like this in my small collection so I enjoy it very much.

I just discovered Mauboussin fragrances line last month and to my surprise, they have good quality fragrances. Promise Me opens up quite strong, you can smell it even if you're wearing a mask and I like that. I can't really detect the Sicilian mandarin here. All that I got are that syrupy rose, patchouli and a tiny little bit powdery scent from the heliotrope. Good for formal occasions and still wearable in day time. It last for a good 8 hours on my skin and I love the scent when it dries down. Tbh, this perfume is not unique, there are a lot of fragrances that smell just like this. I also have L'Extase by Nina Ricci which smells similar to this one. The differences between Promise Me and L'Extase are Promise Me is softer, less syrupy, and doesn't have that sweet-salty scent from caramel like L'Extase does.

Going around the perfume shop indecisive what perfume to buy, day or night, heavy or happy; I ended up with a 'neutral' smell that has a 'touch of' classic scents. And I like it a lot! It won't become my signature scent, but it's a pleasant day perfume with a good silage.

The warm, lovely and simple smell of roses . In Iran, we have a perfume and drink called Golab (Rose Water) . It smells almost the same . Also it's somewhat similar to Lyric Man by Amouage . The only drawback is that perfume spray is not good and natural spray.

This is really well blended But I feel like it smells too mature for me (im in my late twenties) My boyfriend likes it though even tho he sweared he hates patchouli

This one is a simple, light, syrupy parchouly-rose. Quite moderate sillage and longevity. Forgettable. Suitable for daily use in an office in spring or autumn. It is similar to Armani Si for sure but the quality is not that great. You can smell the synthetic notes.

I don't like such a sweety, orientalish interpretation of roses. It smells of sorts and outdated. The cypre base could be nice indeed, but its rose note is unbearable to me. Good sillage and longevity for anyone looking for this kind of rose.

Patchouli-rose combinations can go a couple of ways. This one is a lighter and creamier concoction rather than the denser dark compositions that remind me of red wine and gothic novels. Dubreuil-Sereni tends to do gentle feminine perfumes with transparent washes of notes and this one is less like that but still lighter than most patchouli-rose scents. It opens with a lot of citrus zest but then turns creamy and warm. The heliotropin softens the edges and pushes it more into gourmand territory than goth territory. The rose is prominent but integrated and the patchouli here is the lighter slightly chocolate-y type and not the spicy rotting wood or dank earth cellar floor type.

on the skin i can’t single out the mandarin note at all — only on the blotter, but even there it quickly gets overshadowed by rose. she’s here to reign and conquer. the patchouli plays second fiddle throughout as the scent settles. it’s not a young fragrance to me, i imagine a woman, probably a leo or a capricorn, who glows with success and style, calls you darling and always has a story to tell.

Another review that likens it to 'Si'. It lacks the tart juiciness of 'Si'- but for a budget conscious buy this delivers on its promise. I like it.

I would probably buy this as the other review says it's like si and I'm loving the lock bottle :)
