Oh, the bottle! It is exquisite, absolutely stunning, heavy, expensive looking, glamorous. Probably the prettiest bottle on my shelf. When it's empty, I will buy a fresh bottle and use this as a paperweight. It is a piece of art really. The juice is an equal love, love, love for me. It reminds me of very old paperbound books and a vintage leather sofa that has 40 years of soaked-in incense, or cigarette smoke maybe. I can't place it, but I know this smell. An old bookstore smell perhaps, dated paper pages and a sandstorm of gray dust. Weird, but that's a vibe I can't get enough of. Starts off dry and powdery thanks to the pineapple. The pineapple-fig combo at the top is to die for! More dry and powdery notes in the mid from the iris. Sweet gourmand, but has depth. You get the coconut and the lactonic quality, tempered with powder and you get the praline, a delicate sweetness under the powder. Leans mature to my nose, and it is quite sexy. Clearly there was a plan with the bottle design and the note pyramid with this scent, and it was executed close to perfection. My only gripe is I wish it had more powder and heavier woodiness in the base, but that is personal preference. Actually, if it contained a little smoke, some kind of toasted, burnt marshmallow note, that would have taken it over the top for me. With this one, the top notes and heart notes are heavier, and it simply dries down to a very soft, delicate, innocent girly vanilla. An inverted pyramid. I prefer frags that start out softer and become deeper and richer when they warm on the skin, ending up powdery, smokey or woody. The base does not quite ground this one. Normally I am not into vanilla in the warmer months, but this is the perfect Summer vanilla. The notes are tropical, but it has a cozy feeling. Many "tropical" perfumes lean sharp and the notes are high pitched or sour or too fruity, which I truly despise. Only wish this lasted longer, you need to overspray and then overspray again to build up to a sillage that leaves a trail. I have found that letting unscented body oil soak in before applying this improves longevity of the top and mid and intensifies the notes. However, it may be one of those which others can smell, even if you can't perceive the scent bubble around yourself. Does it smell like a $300 bottle - no. A bit synthetic, yes, but who can be mad at vanilla. I will buy this over and over. I'm smitten every time I wear it, like falling in love all over again. Yummy!

I decided to go on a limb and order this about the same time I ordered Elixir Pour Elle, more intrigued by the beautiful flacon than the notes, but still curious to try a scent whose heart seemed iris-dominant at a glance. This one’s a sleeper hit, and blended well to my nose. I asked a friend about the pineapple in the top because I couldn’t fully make it out, and she said it was there. Iris and vanilla dominate this perfume for me, and the iris is so cold that this fragrance is decidedly cool for me, but still delicious to smell and absolutely a cuddly perfume. I’d argue any warmth associated with this fragrance will come from the personality of the wearer. Even in the drydown, when iris has finally (but not fully) bowed to vanilla, I’d say this scent leans cool, in a refreshingly sweet way. Like the cool sweetness of a good whipped cream, or creme brûlée. It’s gentle and diffuse. A moderate sillage and a decent presence for about six to seven hours before it remains as a skin scent. But the base is tenacious, and lasts until you wash it off. If it matters, this fragrance can net you some compliments in the first few hours of wear, when the projection is most prominent. It’s a great daily wear scent—I’ll test it in the warmer months next year but I actually don’t think it’ll go sickly just because of how cool the composition leans. If you like cool vanilla scents with a powdery aspect so smooth it’s basically powdered silk then you’ll love this one. As far as it lives up to its name, it’s no supernova—it’s more like a reassuring North Star. But I think you’ll enchant anyone that falls into your orbit.

Gosh this stuff is good. TBH with the exception of the Mauboussin self-titled fragrance (which is too ghastly for words and I could not get rid of it fast enough) all the others I've bought from this brand have been great. So I sprung for this to treat myself and I am delighted as it is gorgeous. It's cosy and warm but without being too sweet and cloying. Personally I don't get the pineapple note, but that's of no consequence. It is soft and milky with a delicate smokiness that leans towards incense. There is also a hint of vanilla that offers a creaminess but without the cloying intensity of another favourite of mine, Lalique Le Parfum. Compared to my other Mauboussin fragrances, Star doesn't have as strong a projection on me, but that's okay as far as I'm concerned. There is a cosy, intimate aspect that is really appealing about this fragrance. My husband really likes it! I also own Une Histoire de Femme Sensuelle from Mauboussin, which I also love and thought I would do a side by side comparison. To me, they share some similarity so I thought it would be fun to compare. I'd never really noticed the distinctive rose note in Femme, but now that I sniff them side by side, the rose really stands out for me. Femme is playful and I often get compliments when I wear it, and Star feels like Femme grew up, moved out of home and got a real job! Also, can we talk about the bottle! OMG, it is beautiful and very giftable. The only thing that lets it down is that the lovely golden cap dented the sprayer on the one I bought, but given that I paid such a good price for it, I'm more than willing to live with that.

This is my second Mauboussin fragrance. The first one I bought and own is Une Histoire de Femme Sensuelle. Both of them have this praline note that is so irresistible to my nose, absolutely delicious. Thanks to that typical Mauboussin praline note I may give a chance to their other perfumes, too. To my nose this is the best praline note of all the praline notes I have encountered in my fragrance journey so far. Now, back to Star. This perfume is truly nice and remarkable. It starts of kind of smok-ish and sweet vanilla-like, there is a slight iris and woodsy note to it so the fragrance appears to be quite "serious" of a character (in this phase, it actually reminds me of Vanagloria by Laboratorio Olfattivo, which I love). It proceeds then to the phase of a sweet, lovely creamy pineapple/coconut combo. Recently I bought a pack of dried pineapple in Lidl and the scent that was left on my fingers is EXACTLY that one of Star. I mean, exactly. I was eating those pineapple pieces and I was wondering how come I can smell the Star on my fingers when I didn ́t even spray it on today? Then I realized... Sweet pineapple and coconut. It ́s so delicious. To me, this perfume is so interesting because the first phase I mentioned appears to be like a fall/winter evening perfume and then it changes to sweet, gourmand and almost tropical area. I am about to test its longevity and sillage properly but it appears to be quite good already. :) The bottle is nice and sturdy, quite unique looking. Highly recommended, this perfume.

What an absolute gem! Blind purchase but definitely a successful one. Star is a fabulous concoction of pineapple and tonka, these are the most prominent notes, with only a hint of iris and heliotrope detectable throughout. As the fragrance develops, you can sense the presence of a bitter sweet nutty praline coming through. This juice is most definitely on the unisex spectrum; I can definitely see it being worn by any gender. Very much appropriate for colder seasons, though if applied lightly I could envisage myself wearing it during warmer months on a night out. If you're a professional looking to mark your presence in a non offensive yet appropriate manner, this definitely is a juice to reach out for. It's been a love from first sniff for me and I love sharing it with my hubbie, who's also fond of it. Elegant, opulent, unique, it most certainly doesn't smell like tons of other fragrances available on the market. It will make you stand out from the crowd and you'll be surprised by the number of compliments coming through. Silage and longevity both on a great side; solid 6 hours and it's still very much detectable. Well done, Mauboussin. The bottle design and colour represents the fragrance gracefully. A definite keeper with a strong potential to become my signature juice.

Just got this one in the mail. A successful blind buy!! There is something that reminds me a bit of baby cat and Paris corners dupe of it Riffaqaat only more floral. Kind of like if baby cat and Lataffa noble blush had a baby! Sooo pleasantly surprised! Some say it’s like Lataffa eclair or Bianca latte. Yes it has a vanilla that is in the same vein as those but there’s a little more to this than just that vanilla latte cakey simple vibe of those perfumes. Like i said, more of a baby cat type of darker vanilla but slightly more floral! Going to update once my bottle settles from the heat and tossing around in shipment. I don’t smell much pineapple or fig but I’m excited about how this one may unfold! Edited to add that I’m realizing I’m getting the fig and pineapple in the deep dry down versus the opening. Strange how that’s happening but still a very nice fragrance!

Wow, such a beautiful scent. I’m heavily surprised by this fragrance, I feel like Mauboussin always releases fragrances that are either hit or misses. It’s a warm ambery/gourmand fragrance with a beautiful fruity opening. On the opening you get a blast of Iris, Praline and Pineapple (it’s not a dominant note so you have to concentrate to notice it within all the strong gourmand notes), then closely followed by a milky and REALLY gourmand touch, thanks to the Coconut Milk/Tonka Bean/Vanilla. Then when it settles, the White Amber, Fig, Virginian Cedar and Heliotrope are finally showing up, adding a subtle touch of intensity and powderiness This is really well blended, warm and mouth watering, lasts about 6 to 8h and the sillage is always strong but still leaning a bit moderate. Great value for such a small price, definitely worth it ! 8,5/10 ! So underrated :(

Yooooo! I bought this for $18 used on Mercari!! It's been on my shelf for a couple of months and I just sprayed it because I just realized it had fig and pineapple in the top notes. People are saying this is the baby of commodity milk and by the fireplace... I can see that but the pineapple and fig last through the dry down. This is a special fragrance and it's inexpensive. I get so excited when I'm able to find a fragrance that I love and I don't have to pay $500 for it. I own over 200 fragrances and I've paid up to $400 for a few of them. Its crazy that some of my favorites are inexpensive Middle Easterns' and fragrances like this. Edit-it's actually crazy that people are likening this to Bianco Latte. It really smells like Lattafa's Honor & Glory but minus that Middle Eastern skunk musk.

When you read the notes you don’t know what to expect. I’m sure most people expect a vanilla coconut tropical type of smell. This is not that. To my nose, it smells kind of like gingerbread. It’s like a toasted coconut smell. It’s gourmand but not in the way you’re expecting. This has a slight smokiness to it like By The Fireplace. I don’t know how this one will do in the heat but it smells amazing in the winter and fall. I like to layer it with the Bodycology S’mores body mist. I bet it would be good with choco musk too. My mom kept complimenting me when I had it on so I bought her a bottle as well. (I’m 22 and she’s 59 so this could be for any age) I paid $25 on Amazon and the bottle is heavy very good quality.

This is a warm and cozy scent. I'm getting the creamy coconut and vanilla and the smokiness of the amber/ouds but I don't get any of the other fruits listed. This smells like a campfire marshmallow with the sweetness and smokiness you get. For 35$ bucks, it's a safe blind buy and a mellow scent good for daily wear that won't offend anyone. It's longevity and silage though is what is surprisingly lacking. It doesn't project much and it quickly becomes a skin scent after an hour or so of wear. But it smells delicious for those who enjoy a sweet scent. I will add, if you over spray this delicious scent and spray clothes, it does last much longer. I really love this one ❤️

OMG I want to gate-keep this frag for as long as possible, I don't want the prices to skyrocket when everyone starts talking about it haha For any younger girls looking into this, I will say this is sophisticated powdery/iris vanilla, this is not your typical sweet gourmand, which you might think of seeing it's compared to Milk, By the fireplace, Eclair etc. I think mature, elegant ladies will appreciate it more than the youth. An absolute stunner! Also, just for the record, there is something in it that reminds me of Angham, that waxy feel that I think must be the heliotrope or iris, while Angham has lavender. Does anyone else pick up this small nuance?

I blind-bought this because the notes looked so good......score!! I don't get any fig or pineapple on my skin. What I do get is a smoky marshmallow aroma that isn't too sweet, but just the right amount. Quite lovely and comforting, snuggled up in a warm blanket kind of scent. It reminds me of Smores by a campfire in the woods because I do get the cedar note, but it's not masculine. Unique marshmallow scent that is long-lasting and great for cooler temps, though maybe, just maybe, one could try it on a summer night. I'm thinking warm temps might amplify it a bit, so I'll wait and see. Until then, really enjoying this creation from Mauboussin!

I bought Star at the beginning of summer, and initially, I was not pleased as it reminded me of Ameer Al Oudh Intense Oud by Lattafa, which I find smells like petrol. However, after letting it sit in the dark, the magic happened. (Although I disagree that a fragrance should need to rest for a couple of months to smooth down, I believe that when it is put out for sale, it should be ready to use right away). Now that winter has arrived and a couple of months have passed by, I tried it again and was delighted by its subtle, smoked sweet vanilla scent. It's smooth, fluffy, and very pleasant for winter use.

Amazing cheapie!!! I had a feeling I was going to love this one. And I do! It's that same type of vanilla you get in Snif Vanilla Vice, Mercedes Benz Club Black EDT, Christian Siriano Intimate Silhouette, Commodity Milk. I'm realizing lately that I really love this scent profile. I guess it would be a "woody" vanilla? I don't know. It's got a bit of a smoky nuance to it. I don't get any of the pineapple or fig. Coconut maybe but more like the husk of the coconut. And then vanilla. The extract type of vanilla. Yes, this will be worn quite a bit. Definitely will purchase a backup of this one.

What a stunner!!! Bought a bottle (dirt cheap) after trying a sample. This stuff is incredible. It's smoky vanillic goodness without being too much of one or the other. I have a bottle of Rifaaqat (paid twice as much) and I don't really like it, bought into the hype. This beauty, however, while reminding me of Rifaaqat, is incredibly feminine, cozy and sweet and oh-so inviting. I can only imagine how it's going to shine in colder seasons. I do believe I can detect pineapple note and I dig it. A lot. Praline too. This is amazing. I encourage you to try it. 10/10 everything.

I couldn't disagree more with those who say that this is similar to Bianco Latte or Eclaire. It may have a similar sweetness due to vanilla and pralines, but it goes to a very different direction. It is warm, smokey and woody, not gourmand yet creamy and sugary. I would compare it to fragrances such as Ishq Al Shuyukh, Babycat / Rifaqaat and By the Fireplace. I would even say that there's leather on it, even though it is not listed. However, this is way more feminine and wearable than all the scents I've just mentioned. Definitely suitable for autumn/winter.

I received this perfume as a birthday gift from my husband, and I love it! Such a gorgeously coconutty, fruity, ambery-vanilla scent! I really smell the vanilla and coconut strongly, followed by the sweet, fruity pineapple and fig. I can also smell the warm, amber and wood base; it's very smoothly blended, and there aren't any unpleasant notes sticking out. The only thing i wish is that this perfume were stronger! I definitely have to spray heavy to get the amount of scent I prefer, but I love how it smells!

It smells a bit like Stella Pomade skin/hair cream (in the blue and yellow jar). It reminds me of good childhood memories, and my grandmother's skincare products. Milky, a true vanilla, fruity, and rich. Star is a very good name for it. The bottle is unique too. 10/10 Update: Really starting to appreciate this more as a calming vanilla scent. Not too edible not too cosmetic-y. It is extremely balanced. Vanilla scents doesn't always play nice on me so I really appreciate this and its longevity.

I finally pulled the trigger on this fragrance during Prime Big Deals, and I’m glad I did. It’s the perfect scent for fall and winter, I’d describe it as a grown-up gourmand. The sweetness from the fig, coconut milk, praline, and vanilla is definitely prominent, but what really elevates it is the subtle smokiness of the woody notes and a touch of powdery florals. It takes it beyond just smelling like dessert to something a bit more sophisticated while keeping it cozy and inviting.

To my nose, this is a complex aromatic vanilla. It isn't the sticky thick gourmand that I expect in a fragrance with this much vanilla. There seems to be a note of undisclosed incense or resin in addition to the amber, which may explain why some are noting cigarette or smoky notes. It is a bit powdery, with florals and fruity notes in its opening, which balances the heavier notes. Its complexity is lovely, but it took some time for me to understand and appreciate her.

I openened the bottle today, so I guess it needs to macerate. Smells like burning wood, pineapple, a bit of fig, and pralines. It's sweet and not dense enough. I will wait for a few days. It has something similar with Bianco Latte, the burnt caramel/wood thing, and I love that. I need it to be more dense though, because I get a tea note that I don't like... I'll be back with an update if the smell changes.

Thick vanilla cream swirled with toasted coconut and marshmallow paired with tonka and vanilla extracts. Sweet and warm with a nice woody balance, perfect for cool/cold weather. Projects strongly off my skin, my test spray lasted a little over 6 hours. I can see this getting better after a bit of maceration. Very mainstream and likeable, I can see this becoming the star of the line (no pun intended).

You guys, this is such a gem. It’s like eating roasted marshmallows close to the campfire. Same ballpark of By the Fireplace and Matiere Premiere Encens suave but with added pineapple and way less smoky. The bottle is gorgeous and longevity is around 6 hours on my skin! If you like the idea of a woody vanilla with a sweet fruity accord, honestly Go Get This!!! @deepgreenbeauty

I wish I could smell what you all are smelling because this scent just makes my skin crawl and I hate it. I hate myself for blind buying a 30€ bottle of it, but in my defense it looked so so promising. Edit after 8 months: I love this. One of my favourite perfumes, it just had to sit for a few weeks. My go-to for fall and winter. So cozy and yummy, and still very mature imo.

Grown up gourmand and powdery essence similar to that of powdered hot cocoa (not makeup and not baby butt powder). I've been enjoying it as a sleep/rainy day scent because it's 100 degrees here right now. The pineapple gives it a little lift to make it less flat. Excited to wear in cooler weather. Great deal for 20 ml $7 at an online retailer?

This is the most perfect vanilla scent for me! I wasn't expecting much, but WOW...It has just enough creaminess, just enough sweetness, and just enough spiciness. There is something similar to Milk + by Commodity, except this one is much softer and fluffier. Milk + is a bit more unisex. And it lasts very well, on the skin and clothes.

Kinda similar to Commodity Milk and Siriano Intimate Silhouette (I own both) but this tops both imo. The fig and pineapple give it this bright burst and then it settles down into a sumptuously rich buttery vanilla praline deliciousness...super creamy and wonderful, cozy but expensive. This is my new favorite.

I've been searching for a vanilla cashmere fragrance that was sweet but not overly sweet, warm but not too spicy, unisex but not masculine leaning (shudders at the memory of the Pinesol note of Ani) This is it. And it has decent performance at a bargain price. Hidden gem status achieved.

Beautiful and sweet vanilla. Of course you cant compare this one with some high top vanilla fragrances that have stages from one note to another etc. But it is better then just vanilla body lotion's scent, a little bit more developing, not so linear. Pleasant for sure.

Honey ma'am! When I tell you this is the perfect Fall gourmand, I'm not lying! I almost don't want to share how delectable this scent is because I don't want it going viral. It's sweet, warm and almost chocolatey but it does all that in a grown up, sophisticated way

It's good until the petrol pops up. In about 2 seconds. Same odd base smell I've smelled in Dua Fragrances. It grew on me and I bought it. Wish that petrol note was not in it but oh well. Maybe I can layer it. Husband hates it. Said it smells like old women.

This is such a great easy reach, easy to wear fragrance. It definitely gives cozy vibes - there is a sweet softness to it, but it's also a compliment getter. Perfect for the office, imo. An affordable gem of a fragrance. 9/10 for me.

Love at first sniff! Such a good tenue, 24 hour's on skin! 😱 I can feel mostly iris and vanilla, witch I adore, and I found this similar to Van Cleef- Bois d'iris, and even Prada-iris. Cheap and fabulous quality!!!!!

If commodity milk and by the fireplace had a baby, this would be star. There is also the fig and bread note from lost in a dream by navitus. Longevity is very good and is an excellent value. 8/10.

I just got this and love it. My teen daughter came home; saw the beautiful bottle, and tried to take it. It's cozy, warm sweet and perfect for winter.

This is a vanilla BOMB !!! Vanilla, vanilla and more vanilla... I honestly cannot detect any of the other notes listed. Extremely sweet.

I really like this. It reminded me of marshmallow immediately upon first spray. Then it started to morph and I realized I've smelled something similar. So the first thing that came to mind was some sort of Glade air freshener I enjoyed in the past. I believe it was the Cashmere Woods scent. Then I started to notice the similarities between this perfume and the Cashmere and Amber wax melts. So for me this perfume has some kind of cashmere wood scent that is really prominent. It's also very sweet and smells like cocoa/vanilla/marshmallow. It reminds me of Shawn Mendes Signature,Sabrina Carpenter Sweet Tooth and Al Rehab Choco Musk as well. It's got good sillage and longevity. I can smell it on my clothes the day after applying it. I will probably repurchase this because I feel like it's a better deal than Sweet Tooth(which I love), you get more and pay less.

I was afraid to buy this because almost all the "reminds me of" are almondy fragrances, which don't agree with my nose. Took a chance though and was pleasantly surprised. To me, this is a salty, woody pineapple. Photorealistic pineapple, smelling the outside of it while cutting it open. Fig is also there, and what I thought at first was vetiver must be the cedar. There is a faint feeling of Red Tobacco. No tobacco but super woody; lots of sweet to even that out. Very powerful for about 3 hours, calms down into a skin scent and vanilla on clothing. Masculine leaning, better than the freshie pineapple fragrances out there. The cap is absolutely horrible though, it's difficult to get off and hurts your fingers to do so. Thinking about abandoning it since it really serves no purpose as a cap.

After nearly 2 years of relaxing in its bottle (I'm not using the M word) cedar has softened, praline has stepped back to be less sweet and the pineapple is no longer specifically discernible but more like a splash of pineapple juice in a sauce rather than chunks of fruit. Iris and vanilla have come forward more strongly. It's even better now! Soft projection. You will not choke people out in closed, heated rooms unless you ultra-overspray. If you are not sure about it, give it some time before you decide because it is significantly different than when first opened. Lovely for fall and winter.

On me, it's a speed train alongside opening and middle notes and all I can feel are base notes. But I like it quite much. Holds about 12h(!!!) on me , and it's achievement on my skin. This parfum is DEDICATION . Forget to layer it with something else: it overpower anything. Very strong, protect like crazy. Please, do not oversprey! Less is more with this one. Definitely difficult for job settings, when you have prickly people around you. Would not wear it to restaurant neither, as it will interfere with food and beverages. Overall, excellent parfum, for fraction of price. Highly recommend!

To me this is definitely gourmand, and the woodsy note adds a nice touch that makes it reminiscent of By the Fireplace. It's not too sweet which I appreciate. The vanilla is warm and the coconut is not too prominent but I can catch a hint of it here and there. A lovely winter fragrance that lasts a good 6-8 hours but sadly has barely any projection. I can barely smell it on myself after spraying. Not sure if it's cause I'm nose blind or the sillage is really that low. For this reason I do kind of regret buying.

It is a really good, well blended and overall gorgeous perfume. Only tested it 2 times, one spray goes a long way with this one. Smells like Vicious Cacao minus the raspberry note with a little bit of fig and a tiny hint of coconut. Aaand this is my problem: i was hoping for a lot more coconutty fragrance, only got it for that reason and since i already have VC which i truly love in winter, i decided to swap my bottle. Please let me know if you are in Europe and interested.

Mauboussin Star is a soft vanilla, tonka bean and a little praline perfume. Slight smoke but very light. Intimate, creamy and cozy. Straight to base notes. I do not smell the top notes in my bottle. Starts out feminine but dry down suggests some unisex touches (a bit like Rochas Man). Perhaps this will get richer overtime. This type of perfume usually does. Currently, most suited for autumn. EDIT: Gave this to my husband. Smells much better on his skin.

If you are looking for a longer-lasting Snowflakes & Cashmere from B&BW, this is the perfume for you. I didn’t get the marshmallow sweetness others mentioned, the spicy and milky notes are more prominent to my nose. Couldn’t detect the fruits either. Just powdery woods and milky cashmere. Reminds me of dusty book pages somehow, has a cozy vibe for sure. 2 weeks after edit: This is a sweet chai tea latte, I’m in love..

First of all, can we talk about the bottle. It's beautiful! Heavy, shiny glass, sculpted in smoothie feminine shapes... Just a but tricky to remove the cap. The juice opens fruity with a detectable fig note. Soon after the powdery sweetness comes in. Iris, praline, tonka and heliotrope. The fragrance is enveloping like a silk veil. Or better, like a cashmere scarf. Reminds me of Manifesto by YSL.

Ladies you need to run and get this beauty! This is a creamy buttery iris frag wrapped in vanilla, powdery nuances and lots of praline and tonka beans. Mind you, it is sweet and strong, it really leaves a sillage so go gently on the trigger as it might get cloying if you overspray. I see this for the colder months and it leans feminine for sure. It is a delicious gourmand bomb.

The top notes, a pleasant pineapple and fig (apparently - hard to say from my nose), quickly dry down to an almost toasted coconut scent on my skin. This is a perfectly lovely scent, great price with good longevity and mild sillage. A full bottle blind buy I do not regret. Even better - it came with a travel atomizer. The bottle is beautiful too!

This is a dry, woody, coconut powder bomb. If you don't like powdery scents stay away as this is very dusty like as in the sandstorm dusty. Having said that, it's a nice, cozy, comforting sweet scent with moderate longevity. Whatever you do don't sniff your skin up close as the dusty powderiness will suffocate you. 😅.
