Blind buy. Extremely good value. Very nice for spring, autumn and cooler summer days at least. Probably rich enough for evening wear, though not very warm or dark. Office friendly probably, though perhaps almost too nice for the office. Does not remind me of anything else in my collection, until the drydown kicks in (doesn't take too long) and I see (smell) the parallel that someone else has pointed out with Burberry London for Men (a fragrance I love). The Burberry is probably a little deeper/darker/warmer. (I may almost use this as a kind of warmer-weather London Fresh or Light or something.) This one opens with a kind of silky but also somehow resinous green-woody semi-freshness. It's fresh, but not in an especially citrusy, choking-on-a-yuzu way. I think a lot of the resinous feel must be from the cedar, as what I'm getting there is a kind of clean, green, sappy or essential-oil note or accord, perhaps a little like eucalyptus or tea tree. I'm not getting much fruitiness from the fig, although I think there is some milky (lactonic) sappiness, so I suppose this is definitely more about the leaf/sap/wood, as I hoped and expected. I'm getting a hint of dustiness or earth, but not much. Definitely leans masculine anyway. Longevity is moderate, sillage moderate to weak (so not too far from the Burberry). Smells great and lasts for days if misted just the once on a shirt or whatever. Definitely refined (French), no powerhouse. Drydown smooth but not at all dull, with occasional noticeable wafts popping up to make this wearer smile. Has a kind of fresh presence that I might describe as ozonic, but airy rather than marine. I can't make out whether that aspect is more green, woody or even floral--I'm reminded of violet, but that can't be it--but anyway it's there. I don't find it easy to pick out the individual notes but I don't imagine that there are a great many more of them than the pyramid indicates. I feel as if the reason I can't pin more of them down is that this is not an overly complicated fragrance but rather an elegantly simple one, beautifully blended. I'm not sure I get any clear tonka or vetiver as mentioned in a previous comment, but something I smell in Burberry London is cherry tobacco, and for me there's something not too far from that here, which I think may suggest that there is some tonka. Love.

Today is a great day when you discover one of the best fragrances of all time at an unbelievable price. These types of perfumes only come around once or twice a decade, and I’m excited to share with you the first written review on the web about this absolute masterpiece you can’t afford to miss. Ignore the house’s name, which is usually associated with affordable scents, and ignore that most of us are probably burned out on everything released today, which smells like a copy of a copy. TOP NOTES The opening is just brilliant, and the type of fragrance I enjoy the most is a versatile quality composition. The bright and semi-sweet bergamot and a touch of zesty lemons add a citrusy sharpness that is both invigorating and slightly dark, sometimes even hinting at a jammy quality. HEART NOTES When the initial burst of fresh citruses begins to fade, the heart of Une Histoire d’Homme Irrésistible gently takes centre stage. Imagine the crisp, green scent of fig leaves mingling with the subtle sweetness of the fig fruit with a couple of grains of black pepper atop it. Just beautiful. The first thing to say is that it is not a usual aroma, in the most mainstream line. It can be described as a high-end designer, do not believe its low popularity, it is peculiar and good, very good. I perceive at the exit, a few seconds of non-annoying alcohol, followed by some bergamot, smeared in a tender woody resinous substance, it is not dry and assertive, touches of tangerine or citrus jumps, soft, there is dust on the mezzanine and everything is very pleasant , no synthetic beats even though I wear them naturally. Mildly spicy at this stage, somewhat sharp, clove? After a while a note of ginger is added, clearly, it comes and goes. The whole thing makes it spicy, fresh, gummy (I smell some sweet gum ...), rich. The smell of the fig tree appears little by little, but without invading the atmosphere, although it is clear and well developed. The resin and the good aromatic atmosphere continue. There is wood too, echoes, the notes declare cedar and sandalwood. A mentholated olfactory impression also comes to me erratically ...?, Soft ... The fragrance evolves, it is not flat. The drying is delicious, but this of course, goes according to taste. I would say that it is an all-purpose perfume. I would wear it to go for bread, the office, the opera or a rough date, in any season but it slides more towards cool weather maybe ... Not for the gim. There are always prefer citrus and energizing EDCs. Of course, this is good if after exercise, you go to a dinner, date or event. You dress appropriately. It is a very well designed and achieved aroma in my opinion, very pleasant and different, distinctive. Discreet projection in my case. Curious is this Mauboussin house dedicated to jewelry, little treated and reviewed, but my first foray into its aromas has been very pleasant. The price at which 90ml is found today, in an online sales giant, is ridiculous for its quality. Also, the bottle is beautiful. ⁝

Mauboussin's "Une Histoire D'Homme Irresistible" is definitely one of my favorite fragrances and I highly recommend it. I love this fragrance. I first heard about it in 2021 when fragrance reviewer Sebastian Jara mentioned it and he spoke highly of it. Soon after that, I bought a 3 oz. bottle of it which cost about $31 from a discounter. I loved the way it smelled from the atomizer (i.e. when I first sniffed it), and when I wore it the second time (and from then on), it smelled as good as it did when I sniffed it from the atomizer for the first time. It had become unavailable from discounters for at least a whole year, but, I believe that it was still in production and being sold from Mauboussin's website during that time. It's become available again at a certain discounter for about $37 for a 3 oz. bottle. Even though it increased in price, I still bought multiple backup bottles because I only had one bottle of one of my favorite fragrances (I haven't tried my new bottles yet, so I hope that it hasn't been changed at all). I'm not saying that "U.H.D'H.I." is similar to Amouage "Jubilation XXV Man", but I love "Jubilation XXV Man" and I feel that this Mauboussin fragrance would be enjoyed by most people who love "Jubilation XXV Man". "U.H.D'H.I." is just slightly similar to Lacoste "Live" but it is far better than Lacoste "Live" (I like Lacoste "Live", but I think that the Mauboussin is the better fragrance between the two). Some people complain about the performance of "U.H.D'H.I." but I think that it has good overall performance, especially if one becomes familiar with it by wearing it before they go to sleep for the night. "U.H.D'H.I." doesn't seem to be a very well-known fragrance, but it is definitely in my Top 20 (possibly my Top Ten) favorite fragrances list.

I do understand the comparison to Lalique Ombre Noire, there are certainly some similarities, but I find UHHI to be a much greener brighter scent, and it's not nearly as complex or as rich as ON. I believe this is a more office friendly/casual scent and is also better suited for warmer days than ON. I don't think I would wear this on a scorching hot day but it would be fine through most of the Summer, all of Spring, as well as fall. It's definitely a well balanced fragrance, I don't find myself wearing it too often. There are other fragrances that do the same job but better, in my opinion; I feel like this can be worn the same way as Terre D'Hermes (despite the notes, I think that's a better comparison than Ombre Noire). Terre D'Hermes also layers quite well with this. This stuff is absolutely good value, it gets extra points for being a unique fragrance that can be worn on warmer days. I find myself having difficulty enjoying warm weather fragrances nearly as much as stuff for the cold and dark nights. If you like Terre D'Hermes there's a good chance, you will probably enjoy UHHIM. I picked up my bottle for about $25 although I'm not sure if i will buy another. It's great stuff for the price they charge, it's definitely unique, but I just think there are better (albeit pricier) options.

The reviewers are correct when they note that this perfume lacks something in performance. I find that experience quite frustrating - you apply perfume and only get a hint of its potential before it hides in the background, gone after the first few minutes. The solution with Une Histoire d'Homme Irrésistible is to heavily overspray. I mean heavily. Someone noted that it still didn't perform after 12 sprays. I suggest thinking of 12 sprays as being a light undercoat. Let it dry, then go heavier on the main application. It works then. I'm not sure what fig leaves smell of - but this perfume is very good. There is a sweetness to it, almost like sweet blackberry leaf - so maybe there is a bit of similarity? There is a wonderful creaminess to the scent too and it's almost musky, with a powdery edge, and then with a hint of oily citrussy zest. The citrus sometimes pokes through with a slightly candied side to it too. And yes - the woods create a structure for this all to sit on. I've been sitting on this bottle for a while, always ignoring it because I only have so many days in a year, and days like today I want to smell the perfume I apply. But it turns out that you just need to spray hard.

This is kind of unique cozy and creamy sandalwood with some green undertones. Not very similar but I'm thinking L'instant de Guerlain kind of scent profile and the price online is quite fantastic for what you get. Now I would like to talk about the performance, mine is beast mode so I'm so surprised to read people complaining about its lacks of performance. I got my bottle from a cousin who is selling a lot of his frags, in the morning I spayed it, one time, on a paper, the whole bedroom was smelling like crazy until night, I had to put the paper in a drawer because it was too much, next day afternoon, I open the drawer and the strong smell hit my face in a seconds. So yeah, IDK, maybe this is an older bottle and sometimes companies make new bottles weaker...IDK... Really happy to got this anyway. I will be surprised if this go out of my top 10 discoveries of 2026. 4.5/5.

#811 in my "Tour de Fragrance" There are probably a thousand scents with bergamot, sandalwood and cedar. But I really enjoy this scent. First of four Mauboussin's I blind bought. I do not believe the notes. This scent is very sweet and nothing in the notes accounts for that. This is a great smelling sweet, woody, bright scent. Moderate projection but a skin scent that definitely makes it to lunch. Put's me in mind of Creed's "Bois du Portugal", but not a clone of anything as far as I can tell. Fans of YSL "Y" and Lattafa "Fakhar Black" will approve I think. This is a good quality scent at a bargain price. Car pool, elevator, office and date night safe. Warm weather, beach wear, casual wear. This will offend no one. I think it's a brilliant blind buy!

I have this in the back burner for quite awhile and almost forgot about it until I saw a YT review on Lalique's Ombre Noire. Well I ordered that one and according to some reviewers, its very close to this one. I would say that obviously there must be a striking similarity in the scent profile because its creator is one and the same, Karine Dubreuil-Sereni. This is a gorgeously woody, fruity masculine frag that doesn't scream loud but you will be satisfied with its aroma that lingers around you but longevity may be a little wanting. This is a pretty affordable fragrance now selling for $27 for 90ml at Amazon. This is best for cooler months, early spring and autumn but even with a reasonable price tag, still try before you buy. 8/10 for this beauty

As a woman that uses the original Encre Noir very often to layer, I was looking for something similar so I blind bought this. Not impressed initially, I discovered that after letting it mature for a couple of months, it has become something wonderful. I have dry skin that eats perfume, but the fig leaf is prominent on me and the scent lasts all day. I like to wear alone or layered. It’s very good worn together with the female version, Une Histoire de Femme Sensuelle, which has become a regular in my perfume rotation. It also goes well with fig, berry, vanilla and woody notes, some of my other (weaker) Mauboussins, or other black or red bottle juices. Very much worth the money here, as it was truly inexpensive. Recommended!

I've reviewed this before and still love or really like it, but I almost feel as if it's so impressionistic or ambient, and so pure, that it lacks definition, detail, possibly even structure, though absolutely not in a way that's inherently bad. Initially at least, to me, it feels a little like wearing an imperceptibly fine mist from the Garden of Eden, but sometimes I want more. This can be effectively layered with, say, Ferragamo pour Homme, a light but complex fig fragrance, for just a little more focus. I presume that this Mauboussin is compatible with Ombre Noire too, but I haven't tried that combo.

This fragrance is nice. It's grounded from start to finish in cedar wood. Smells like a wood workshop. It makes me think of a subdued take on an 80s/90s Italian fragrance I really enjoyed in my 20s (i.e., Borsalino). This is in no way a sweet fragrance. This one works best in Fall and Winter or as soon as the weather starts getting a little cooler. If you like the smell of cedar wood, you will very likely like this as well. An excellent blind buy for me. Update: The only problem is that the magic doesn't last very long. Barely a skin scent after 1 or 2 hours.

Pure elegance and chic in a bottle. As the brilliant Chris from Scentland said, this fragrance smells like Paris. You're walking through the city; you see trees, 19th-century architecture, and people at the cafe reading their newspapers, sipping coffee, and smoking cigarettes. This is what this fragrance smells like. It also has a sort of nonchalantness about it. Doesn't shout, just sitting quietly, confident in its own skin. Brilliant hidden gem of a fragrance. 9.5/10

This one has become my Swiss Army knife ! It’s lovely in itself, but it’s perfect for layering too! I’ve layered it with several fragrances. Cedrat Boise can be quite synthetic- layer it with this one & it mellows down, gets more smooth and longer lasting. On Prada intense, the Prada lasts longer Lalique white gets more focus on the lemon leaf & bergamot and lasts longer, which is a big plus on LW. Layer it with Encre Noir & you will have an amazing all year Vetiver.

Not going after the notes here, i get cedar...veeery much cedar.. a tiny bit off moss, some bergamott, and pine. There is pine in here mark my words (self edit:papyrus) its not bad at all.. in reminded off Gucci ph, but imo this is better cause i cant stand Gucci ph, but this has a more mellow feel to it, a bit Nordic woods in the summer about it. The cedar is main player in this tho.. so iff you dont like cedar heavy perfumes stay away.

Very classy masculine fragrance. Only just arrived today so only just unboxed. Fantastic classic Fig, Sandalwood and Cedar fragrance. Unique smelling with great quality for the price point. Can't comment on longevity yet but just over spray it and you'll be fine. Paid £20 delivered new sealed and boxed. Amazing value for this. Definitely smells niche quality.. If you like classy manly fragrances just go ahead and buy it. I did..👍🏻

I grew up around fig trees. This also has the smell of the fruit in it. A bit juicy at the start with citrus then transforms into a soft powdery wood. Nice development. Very unique. Smells expensive not generic synthetic. Fig note is from start to finish. Wish it had a bit more sandalwood creaminess but still great and a bit more powder. Leans fresh but also comforting so perfect for mid Spring to early Fall. Highly recommended.

A masterpiece, simple as that. Price/Quality ratio is through the roof. Bought a backup as soon as I sprayed it. A lovely blend of Fig Leaf and slightly creamy-powdery cedar backbone. This feels so green and vegetal in the most perfect way. This has some LIDG / Kokorico vibes, but lighter and airier, not as dense. This smells and feels so relaxing, like gentle rays of light piercing through a calm forest.

Wow! What a gem! 17 Euro ... wtf?! This is a treasure. Of course hits you in the nose firstly with this a bit plastic begramot , but not more then D&G light blue... nothing bad, you will survive a few minutes. After that full of enjoyment and smiles for every cent spend. Any time, everywhere... the small difference between a man of class and just a "money talker".

Most inexpensive fragrances don't improve when you let them sit for a few weeks. This one does improve. I found it thin at first, let it sit for a month and it became much deeper, richer and had better performance. This fragrance is grossly underappreciated because the note breakdown doesn't excite people. It's one of the few truly hidden gems out there though.

If you look at the perfumer's instagram (karinedubreuilsereni) she mentions patchouli, cedar wood, vetiver, tonka and vanilla... just wanted to point that out. And smelling it, it kinda shows... Edit: I don't know why, but this reminds me of the candy one hangs in a Christmas tree (at least the ones that we do here in Romania)...

A most glorious blind buy. Purchased for my partner but I'll probably end up wearing it more than him. Straight out of the box, I'd happily give this an 8/10. It's unique and very well blended. Only down side is that it barely lasts two hours, even on clothes. Sits very close. No sillage whatsoever.

This is a pure "MASTERPIECE" and without a doubt the most subtle sexy and masculine understated scent i have ever worn....Its pure refined class and unyielding elegance in a bottle.....For a man that is comfortable and unashamedly confident in his own skin and just "Knows" without even trying.

Amazing scent, beautiful, classy aromatic slightly fresh, woody herbaceous, I definitely detect the fig green in it and it smells amazing, unfortunately it goes directly to skin scent, very weak longevity and sillage But I just got my bottle so may be give it some time to macerate would help

Wow what a beautiful scent! I was ready to pull the trigger on one coming from India.....I wanted it so bad. This is fancier that the price, quality scent fancy woods and almost clove like. This made me think of Murdock London Black Tea. There is freshness with an initial denseness.

Woody, piney, softened by the sandalwood. This is good and a steal at £20 for 90ml. Similar notes but more of a statement might be Eucris or Mousse Illuminee (strong green). Despite comparisons I thought this was better than Ombe Noire which I perceived as carrying a sour note. 3/5

Purchased this after seeing Sebastian speak about it. It smells much more expensive than it is! I can't resist my husband when he wears it. It's fresh but has depth. I feel like a woman could pull it off as well but it's incredibly sexy on a man!!!

@Dàithì Lòchà if you actually read my review, I did not say it smells like Terre D'Hermes, I said it can fill the same role as TDH, it's woody, dense, and green with a rich scent profile. It does not smell like TDH but can be worn in the same way.

I believe there's much more notes than the ones listed here, I couldn't put my finger on it but know I know, the drydown which is quite herbal really reminds me of traditional provençal pastis, Henri Bardouin to be precise. Spectacular !

Stunning blend with very high quality and an unbeatable price. Its gentle, slightly powdery woody & green character with just a tiny hint of bergamot is of truly Parisien nature. Refined, elegant, deep and slightly smoky. Perfection!

Mine has become much spicier, probably woodier and drier, and definitely much gruffer in the bottle over the couple of years or so that I've had it. I find it a very appealing development from a well-above-average baseline.

Got this at a discounter. Love it. Classy almost barbershop type of fragrance. Really love the initial blackpepper (even though not mentioned in the notes) mix with fig. Worthy blind buy if you can get a discount for it.

Light green, semi sweet with some woods. It's an absolute lovely scent but not projecting that much so you will wear this one for yourself. Scent: 9.0/10 Longevity: 7.5/10 Sillage: 6.5/10 Price: 9.0/10

It has something almost resinous and patchouli like character, but it's a light, slightly green uplifting fougere. Good quality, but it could be a bit more loud for my taste.

Managed to get a bottle from Notino for just £14, smells beautiful. 9 hours later I can still smell it on my wrist really shocked at the price of this.

No wonder it does smell like ombre Noire the Perfumer is the same! Great price value 👍 and could be the best alternative to ombre Noire by Lalique ❤️

Just like ombre noir, but made with fig instead of amber and stuff. Surprisingly similar, even though piramids of those two are nothing alike.

Gotta overspray but the scent is on point and for $25. No frickin brainer! And would rebuy for sure!

I get a very pleasant bees wax or propolis smell on skin , refreshing and energizing !

The first moments are raw and alcoholic. Very quickly, a bergamot-fig accord reveals itself. The fig doesn't come across here as a full fruit, but rather as a green, tart leaf accord, which gives the whole opening a green image. The transitions are noticeable. I think the best part is the mid-phase, where all the notes balance into a resinous, sweet, woody bite with a mentholated quality. My girlfriend perceives it as church incense. I think it's more likely the effect of the dry, powdery cedar, a slight bitterness, and that strange menthol-green forest glow. The drydown is boring, somewhere on the edge of a retro fougère, and barely noticeable as a separate layer because the previous images disappear, and what remains is basically a transparent vanilla-woody freshie. The biggest problem is unquestionably the performance. It fades relatively quickly, almost to zero, and by the drydown, I mostly smell it only when I press my shirt to my face. At the beginning, though, it's quite noticeable. It's undeniably very similar to Ombre Noire. The difference is that Ombre Noire's performance was catastrophic for its price. Here, it's easier to accept because Histoire is half the price. I treat it as a working substitute. There's also a touch of Encre Noire here, I think, in the tart, dark greenness. Nostalgia Blue isn't similar at all. Histoire is so cheap that I genuinely recommend it to anyone who has a gap in their collection for this type of scent. The quality is really high; it's cozy, elegant, and smooth, and it's friendly to any season and setting. I'm struggling with this one. It is unique, masculine, woody, green, fresh & dusty. It is a simple scent that is very appealing & office safe. I want to like it, but its performance is just too poor to recommend. I knew going in it wasn't supposed to be a room-filler & that I should give it at least 2 weeks to macerate before passing judgment. It's been 3 months and counting and this is by far the weakest fragrance I own. 10 minutes after I've sprayed it, the projection is < 1 ft. Longevity is 2 hrs or less on skin and perhaps 5 hrs max on clothes, and that is with 8-12 sprays. I might expect that from a citrus frag, but not a woody one. This provides the same experience as body wash or a nice bar of soap. It is not soapy, but the performance and longevity are the same. I don't think it's worth purchasing even at its low price. If it continues to improve, I may revisit this, but for now this is a 5/10 from me. UPDATE- it has finally got some legs and lasts another hour or 2. It still isn't an overpowering scent, but oddly enough, has earned me a surprising number of compliments. All things considered, I'd bump this up to at least a 7.

STOP GATE KEEPING THIS! This isn’t a “men’s “ fragrance, it’s perfectly unisex. I was influenced to blind buy this after hearing SEBASTIN speak of the quality, how it was on the hot list from back in the day & now it was out in the cold with a cheapie price tag & getting discontinued.. I checked the notes and saw fig leaf & sandalwood as a mid note , I wanted this! First sniff, I thought “oh, I can wear this”. This is a creamy (sandalwood) woody scent highlighted by the semi-sweet & natural/ light green (as in smelling the freshness of trees or the air coming from a bunch of plants) of the fig leaf & bergamot. The cedar gives it a deep base. I also get some musk. I am enjoying this very much. I would suggest this for the spring/ summer and fall seasons. I would think that any grown woman who enjoys clean, fresh woody skin fragrances would also be able to enjoy this.

This is a really lovely fig tree scent. Subtle, clean, and super elegant. Opens with lots of fresh green fig leaves, the fig fruit and bergamot are fresh and yet also dark and a bit jammy, and there's lots of fresh-spicy fig tree wood beneath it all. Completely unisex. Weak longevity. I got 2h out of it from 2 sprays on my chest over heavy moisturiser, before it completely vanished. Intimate sillage with one or two sprays under clothing. More if more obviously, but unless layering, I find spraying more doesn't improve this scent. Layers fantastically with Cacao Libertine by Maison Tahité. Together these two smell like those Polish dark chocolate covered dried plums, it's so good! Weirdly this fragrance lasts much, much longer when worn layered too.

8/10. I don't really smell any fig but it is a good smell, though I am biased with fresh scents. Idk to me it smells generic and designer cologne-y which isn't bad but I've definitely smelled things very similar to this elsewhere. Almost reminds me of a fresher Creed Royal (which I love) on the dry down. Only problem is this thing legit feels like it lasts 10 minutes max like it's 90% water or some shit. I want people to be able to smell me from the town over not have to have their nose stab me in order for them to smell me. Points off for being so weak but points added for being so cheap

This is a very pleasant cedar-rich perfume (not overwhelming woody), very office friendly. I cant perceive fig leaves. It smells clean, fresh, without screeching lemon notes for a change, mature, sophisticated, professional. Somewhere in the Terre d'hermes league but much less wood-heavy. The performance is below average but again I just opened the bottle, time will hopefully help. I will update in some months. For the 20$ price I consider this a bargain. People around me really liked this one. I do aswell but i just cant get myself to love it. There is something heavy for my nose in this almost like a sauna. that woody denseness. It is described as fresh and others agree with that. But i don't find it particularly fresh to my nose. But it sure smells good and it is very unique for the low price of 25 eur. Described as a spring summer and fall fragrance. i would never wear this in high heat tho. 7,5/10.

Imaging a mix of D&G pour homme, and Encre Noire by Lalique: that’s what you get. Encre Noire by Lalique is bit sweeter than this one. The tobacco is bold but not nauseous. Well balanced, no much synthetic in here. Office friendly. Casual to formal. I think it’s more suitable for the older crowd, unless you like more “old school” style if scents. This is not bubblegum, super sweet fragrance. It’s a hidden gem: not expensive for the quality you get.

So sexy, especially in hot summer evenings it lasts longer and the fragrance is more radiant and projects more. You'll have to overspray though as it's not a strong performer but this is a unique masculine date night scent. It's the same perfumer that created Givenchy Gentleman Society, and Givenchy Gentlemen Society Extreme. 7/10 due to longevity. Price is excellent and doesn't do justice to its quality.
