As a fragrance collector, I am always searching for something that is not overly mainstream. During a visit to Rome, I discovered Mauro Lorenzi, a local perfumer with a single boutique located not far from where I was staying. I visited the boutique one afternoon and was genuinely impressed by the level of service: kind, knowledgeable, patient, and highly professional. I had the opportunity to try virtually the entire collection (24 fragrances), and it is rare to encounter a house of this level where, despite the diversity of compositions, almost every fragrance is remarkably appealing. The quality is evident: excellent concentration, strong performance in both longevity and projection, and elegant 50ml bottles. In the end, I left with two fragrances instead of one, and I am already looking forward to expanding my collection further. This feels like true niche perfumery, in a market where “niche” is increasingly becoming commercial. Milvius stands out as a remarkable interpretation of rose, enriched with tobacco and vanilla. I own several rose-based fragrances, yet this one reaches a level of quality and refinement that is genuinely exceptional. The composition is rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced, where the floral heart is deepened by the warmth of tobacco and softened by a subtle, elegant sweetness. I also appreciate the artistic inspiration behind the brand—this particular fragrance being part of a collection inspired by the bridges of the Tiber, which adds an additional layer of meaning and identity. It is a house that I rarely see mentioned, despite its outstanding quality. In a way, this relative obscurity may even be a virtue. A brand that clearly deserves greater recognition.

OMG! It smells like Rome closed inside a bottle. Longevity is enormous! Absolutely love this perfume.
