BCBGirls Star

Thank you to ejtannster for suggesting a dupe for this amazing perfume, since I was starting to worry about what to replicate my bcbg Star with! It's such a unique scent very rarely found nowadays. I, too, was conserving my bottle from 2001 and using it like 2-3 times a year max, but unfortunately I noticed that the level of the juice started going down in the bottle without me using it. I also noticed little droplets of concentrated liquid on the inside of the cap. Ooohhh, nooooo! It started to evaporate and I don't understand - why now? It did so well for over 15 years. I guess there is time for everything. But the quality of the scent itself even got better! So rich, warm and full of nuances. I don't know if it's Orris Root that gives it some magical property - I'm not too good at telling many notes apart and have no idea how Orris Root should smell like, but I noticed I like other perfumes with Orris Root in them, as well. I can definitely get apricot, musk and vanilla in it, and with the woody base it's such a perfect combination. It's the longest-lasting of this line - well over 12 hours, and with a huge warm enveloping projection.

UPD: I got a sample of Narciso Rodriguez Poudree and compared them side by side. The smell on the initial application of NR Poudre is a little lighter, like the color of its bottle - powdery fluffy pink, as BCBGirls Star is fruitier, sweeter, deeper and brighter. But in the drydown stage they do seem to smell very much alike. They have the same key prominent notes: cedar, musk, rose, orange flower, jasmine. Poudre was holding on my clothes a little less time than BCBGirls Star. But all in all, I would be happy to have NR Poudre as a substitute for BCBGirls Star.

Narciso Rodriguez poudree is a good dupe. But Star seems to be a bit fruitier. I hope they can bring it back someday. This line was so unique. I love them all.

I have enjoyed this fragrance for many years - the bottle I have is at least 15 years old. This scent comforts me. When I look at the notes, it seems the fragrances I really connect to have peach or apricot and vanilla. This is just lovely.

I sprayed on narciso rodriguez poudre in the pink bottle yesterday on my arm and some got on my sleeve and like 20 minutes later I was like, "did I spray my bcbg star that I never spray bc I am conserving it?" I say I found a good dupe!!
