Voyeur Verde

Love the blend of iris, leather, and creamy cedar. I love pairing it with an oud fragrance, then drifting off to sleep wrapped in woodland-scented dreams. Maya Najie is quickly becoming my favorite perfumer and one of my favorite fragrance houses.

I got a sample of Voyeur Verde with my recent re-order of Tropica. I’ve just applied it so it’s too early to say whether I will like it or not. My first description of Voyeur Verde would be that it is Piercing and Herbal. I’ll update later as it develops. *update* Voyeur Verde softened and warmed as it developed on me, with Iris and Ylang Ylang revealed.

Very high on the uniqueness scale. Leather meets detergent meets fennel. A new car that has just rolled out of the car wash, with really high quality leather seats. Very soft and masculine, and terrific scent for the workplace.

Immediate impression - lots of bitter earth, vetiver, like the essential oil alone. Came here to see if it was in the notes, which it's not. But leather makes a lot of sense. I've smelled a frankincense oil that was a bit similar. Agree with rubber too, even industrial glue notes if I'm being negative. Getting a bit powdery-floral too after a few minutes (making it somewhat less weird that the sample is part of my mothers "feminine classics" subscription). It's not "green" at all to me - green for me is cut grass - but it's a bit similar to some perfumes said to be very green that to me are all powder (Mate, by whatsisface, expensive niche thing). Interesting.

smooth, black leather with an herbal touch. It oscillates between pungent rubber and the freshness of fennel. It's unique, but I find it a little overwhelming. It projects well and parts of it come across like industrial glue. I can't really pick out the other notes listed besides maybe cypress and olibanum. I was really enthralled at first, but I eventually lost the freshness that interested me and now all I smell is a strong, herbal leather. Maybe it's just not for me, idk. I could be off here but I get the sense that this is falling short similar to how Nordic Cedar fell short for me- the materials feel nice enough but the composition feels simple to a fault. Like there needs to be more than a dry-down of two-notes. This may be more complex than I give it credit for, but it feels a little heavy handed in whatever chemical is used for the leather accord.

A classic car with a clean leather interior — at one point freshly stitched and glossy, and creaking under the weight of two nervous lovers driving up to the glittering summit of Makeout Point (the air as balmy and dense as a wild jungle with tension and possibility) — now sits in its final resting place in a field somewhere, a ruined skeleton eaten away by thickets of brush and crawling vines and rust. Its sun-warmed insides a time capsule of what once was.

Definitely agree with previous speakers. This is a rare bird of a perfume, and very intriguing. Since I love all things green, this is the facet I enjoy the most. Paired up with the leather makes for an interesting combination. Full of character. This is not for everyone. I think it's the fennel that makes it stand out. This is unfortunately not a favourite note of mine. Still, very interesting. Beyond any classification of gender. Truly unisex.

Anonymity is a beautiful thing. A mist from your boyfriend’s perfume collection, his haze, tickling your neck. Iris lapping in your ear, sweet musings. He leaves his leather jacket on the outdoor patio furniture. I light a cigarette while the morning dew shines a metallic wink. I throw the jacket over my shoulders, inhale, exhale. Crystalline glasses shatter, the animals go to sleep. I wait for your return.

This is a masculine leaning freshly aromatic woody scent with aged leather and rosy undertones. It opens with bright and punchy citrus, then develops into a green and slightly spiced fennel with resinous notes. The dry down has a heavy hand of worn in leather with dry rosy woods, and dusty patchouli. Not my favorite scent but this may work for someone who really enjoys masculine aromatics

I would recco this to a couple of my guy friends. All perfume is technically unisex, but there is a masculine edge to Voyeur Verde (due to the deep leathery and woodsy qualities) that isn't my cup of tea. To me, it's sort of like spraying a men's cologne inside of an old car. The dry down is extremely similar to Maya Njie's Nordic Cedar, which I like.

Smells like leather seats and leather conditioner. This is a very straightforward scent where leather is the star. It you're into that, you'll probably like it! There's something a tiny bit herbal to it, but that's fleeting.

Tropica is a fresh and tropical fragarence with green fruity notes and a smooth and elegant feeling. Bright and uplifting, it offers a sophisticated take on a tropical scent.
