Tramp

Tramp was in a different bottle by Lentheric when I came face to face with it in the early '90s. I first sniffed it when I was twelve and I fell in love with it immediately! It was, and still is, like no onther perfume. So different, warm and spicy at the same time, with a drop of orange in its heart. Not oriental at all, anyway. I want to buy it again after so many years and let all the forgotten memories come to my mind and to my soul!

I love this frag, it is much like tweed, but this is more suitable for evening wear, deeper and sexier. The headiness could be offensive, but I dislike safe frags anyway. Get the cologne for day time

The main reason I bought this was the name. That and the promise of a 70s scent recreated. I got the 100ml eau de cologne, dirt cheap. First time I sprayed it, straight out of the mailing box, I got a strong synthetic aldehydic-alcohol odor that immediately put me off -- the cheaper contemporary versions of 70s scents like Revlon Intimate and Yardley Pure Silk tend to have this imprint, across the board. I almost gave up, but decided to wait until the bottle had warmed up a bit. I got the beginnings of a migraine too, by the way. Following day, I sprayed it far from my face, next to an open door. This stuff is powerful, despite being an EDC and presumably a ghost of its 70s self. And then I waited. I get sensual yellow flowers, ylang-ylang mostly. And maybe a bit of carnation. I don't get much of the citrusy opening described in previous reviews. I get crisp, green powderiness as well, but beneath that an animalic trace. As a little kid in the 70s with a sensitive nose, I remember this style of perfuming as very typical of scented powders and lotions that my mom and aunts used to own. Beauty parlors had this scent, as the grand dames of the community sat down to gossip, fanning themselves and releasing scent into the warm air. I do like Tramp, the scent as well as the name, and it has an inexpensive, easy-going feel: a 70s-blue-jeans feel. Even in EDC formulation, I would recommend spraying with a light hand.

This was a big hit back in the day - which is to say, the late 70s and early 80s. I turned my nose up at it then because it was cheap. Lentheric, who made it originally, actually made very good fragrances but they were sold in down-market shops and I was, frankly, a bit of a perfume snob in those days. Well, I just got a bottle of the PdT from ebay. I should say it's early 80s. And guess what- it's absolutely delightful. A floral-oriental with a strong citrus element is how I'd describe it. Slightly vanillic, very slightly powdery but not at all "old-lady" - this was a fragrance for dynamic young women. Close up I get a hint of jasmine. As you can probably tell, this is very well-blended with no particular stand-out note, at least to my nose. Good sillage and longevity. What a little gem! I don't know what the Mayfair version is like, but would tend to be cautious of it. This is based on my experience of Pagan - I have both the Lentheric and the Mayfair versions of Pagan, and they are absolutely nothing alike. If you can find the original on ebay or elsewhere I'd strongly recommend it, not least because it's incredibly cheap. I got a large bottle, used but still 80% full, in its box and in great condition, for £7.50 delivered. That's about $10 I believe. You really can't go wrong.

It seems I am going through a nostalgia phase , I am looking up perfumes that were used by my Mother , Granny , cousins , sisters ..etc. Even ones used by my father & brother !..I found most of these perfumes coming back strongly , which tells you these were very well made scents , not all that blah of fashionable perfumes that steals both your wallet & taste ,leaving you smelling like cheap candy or bubblegum ..I found a bottle of Tramp at a local store in my town , I still vaguely remember its strong 80's oriental -rather mysterious smell .. I am really thinking of getting it , I bought Indra (which is a nostalgical perfume as well ) and it turned out a hit , even with my early teen daughter who wants her own Indra now :) Update: I got it today.. WOW as beautiful as it used to be . This is a cheap price but not a cheap smell at all , it has personality much more than 80% of fashion perfumes we have today which smell all the same or has rather "offensive " personality , Tramp is like a smart , hard working lady who will get to her goals but not a bully . It's an Eau de Toilette version but very good as a an EdP ..Still testing its Sillage & longevity ..Perfect for Autumn & Winter :)

I love this retro-fragrance - brought a vintage early ‘80s ‘splash’ bottle, but wanted the convenience of a spray so took a punt on the ‘modern’ scent. It’s the same. Phew! This scent isn’t an old lady sweet-talc smell (like so many of these retro-perfumes). Its musky but with a sharp clean edge and, for me, is as easily worn by a man as a woman. It’s long lasting on skin but does fade on clothes. And the bottle is HUGE! And cheap! Great. Plus, the name...Tramp! Honestly it’s inspired. I don’t know the history of the name - this scent was first released in the late ‘70s - but growing up in the ‘80s, the term ‘tramp’ was often thrown around in the power soaps of the era (Dallas & Dynasty) and was used to refer to a woman of questionable morals; was indiscreet in her sexual activity; or one who got what she wanted through sex...and I mean who doesn’t want to be that woman/ man! ...‘you’re a tramp S’wellin and always will be’. Well, if the scent fits...I’m a Tramp 😜

Nostalgia in a bottle for me. I smell this and i'm taken back to friends getting ready for a night out.

This is a review for the original vintage Tramp by Lentheric, whose ads I remember, growing up in the 70s. I picked up an old, boxed bottle of this on Ebay for a few quid and it's still fabulous. A classic oriental floral - I would say a chypre - with a massive cocktail of rich florals in the top notes and animalics at the base, with real staying power. I can still smell it faintly on my wrist after 10 hours. It's pretty heady - best applied with a light hand, like many vintage frags. I don't get citrus, so that may be age, or just a difference from the new formulation. In a 70s mood, I'd wear Tweed during the day and Tramp at night.

I want to have this perfume, it was one of my favorite one in the 80's. Unfortunately in my City, i cannot find it. this perfume has a very nice smell with my body. If any one know how I can buy it please tell me.

I just found a commercial on this by chance on YouTube. I came here hoping someone could describe this smell. It didn't last long & doesn't seem to be popular here either . :)

Would someone be able to list the ingredients please? Also, does anyone know if this new version is vegan/cruelty free?
