Almonds dripping w/honey set against a backdrop of soft powder. I'll take two please...... I've had a love affair w/this scent for a coupla years now. We're still madly in love w/no end to the passion in sight! Alessandro is one of the only scents that I've ever come across that I would consider signature scent worthy. She's heartbreakingly unique w/an ambery colored depth minus the actual amber. Sweet but not toothachingly so. The almonds provide a bit of a roasted bite w/out being bitter. The vanille is done brilliantly taking a backseat to the whole thing filling in only where really needed and not standing out in the least. Then there's the heliotrope.....soft, round, powdery, w/out weighing anything down. It fairly buzzes w/life and a frequency of it's very own. Alessandro resonates in the place of jazz for me. She smells like the sound of a late night saxaphone. I can see San Francisco at midnight perfectly. The scent of this beauty swirling around you keeping you warm,inviting those close to you to come in closer, needing to come in closer. Honestly~this perfume is the scent of a story. Your own very personal one of course! She's perfect day and night. She doesn't get too far away from you but she holds her own. Sillage 6/10, longevity at least 8 hours. If you love honey or almonds~she's an absolute must try!

Alessandro by Mazzolari is a pretty and delicate powdery almond/heliotrope with honey. Mazzolari reminds me of a honeyed version of Dans Paris and a close relation to Confetto which shares the same Nivea face cream style base. The honey here is heavenly but there’s a cherry Chapstick vibe to this, like an oily lip-gloss scent that reminds me of Tonka Sarrappia. For the first 3/4 hours the sillage is far reaching (and I received a compliment). Then it fades to the point that I’m not sure if I’m still wearing it. The price point is great for the quality, the scent itself is divine but it just falls short on longevity for me. You’d have to spray every 4 hours to last a full day at work. I love the honey in this though. I wore it again today and although I love the honey, I still get the cherry Chapstick vibe again. It’s pretty and I do like it, I just don’t want to smell like lip balm. A good (and much cheaper) alternative to this with a similar honeyed heliotrope, powdered icing-sugar feel is Esprit D’Oscar as it’s a softer version of Alessandro without the cherry chapstick. Update: I wore this again today as I was craving its golden honey but again the cherry-style heliotrope gave me Cherry Chapstick vibes. Oh well. I just need to find this but without the cherry.

Exquisite. Vintage. Pink swansdown powder puffs and blush colored silky face powder found in art deco satin depression era jars... Pre code era and black and white cinema reminds me of Jean Harlow in Dinner At Eight. Powdery, super refined foundation...that is what this fragrance is to me... Super soft blush pink face powder and everything 1920's that lives in my heart is what this perfume is. I am completely in love with this and everything it stands for...lovelovelove! The more it wears on the more beautiful and refined it becomes! I feel like I am in a bed lined in pink satin, taking a bubble bath in pink champagne, oh this drydown is heavenly...dreaming in pink, ultra feminine and beautiful! Alessandro is as delicate as freshly fallen snow untouched in the woods on a morning so quite all you can hear is the frozen crystal air and the gently falling snowflakes...

I love the first formulation of this perfume. An almond lover's dream scent - rich, full bodied, but not too sweet. However, the subsequent version is quite a bit different to my nose. It's much flatter, more synthetic and, although I might still appreciate it if I'd never smelled the original, it just doesn't do it for me. You can tell the difference by the color of the liquid - the first formulation is a rich caramel color, but the second (or there may even be a third) is a pale straw color, which is rather appropriate considering the loss of character in the scent. I will admit that I may be being too harsh in my evaluation of the reformulation - it's just that the comparison is jarring. And, as I said, I might actually enjoy it if I could try it under a different name, with no history attached...although, I still sort of doubt it.

I haven't reviewed this and have had it for quite some time now. Well, when I read there was heliotrope in there, it does not surprise me because I love love love heliotrope. Also love powder and vanilla. It's so feminine and perfect for drawing in attention from men, but not total sex attention (well not just yet). I feel it is very elegant, not sure I get the almonds, but many fragrances I do love have almond. Be that as it may, and my limited ability to convey all the notes like some is nil. I will just suffice to say that I will never be without this one. I get compliments galore when I wear this. And I'll say it's not a just for me fragrance. Something very captivating going on here with my chemistry and Alessandro. You would have to pry it out of my cold dead hands. Edit: I abused this, so now I am on a long hiatus from her.

Wow... powderpuff heaven. The almond and heliotrope smell so realistic; you can really sniff the quality of the ingredients in this. I get a hint of cherry- not sure if that’s the almond or heliotrope, but that aspect resembles SL’s Louve. Yes, this is extremely powdery. This is in the same realm as the Loukhoums, only drier. It is what I had hoped L’instant Magic would smell like, but felt that one needed a tiny bit more sweetness to check all my boxes. This is what I’ve been looking for. I already own Cara, which has a similar vibe, only much sweeter, so I’m not sure I can justify buying a bottle of Alessandro. It’s a bit pricey for such a linear scent but who am I kidding? If I had the cash I’d have bought it already. Almond and powder lovers must try this!

Powdery Honey Almond Deliciousness Alessandro is honeyed almond in liquid. It is very powdery. I don't like powdery fragrances but I like it here. The notes are of high character. They feel very natural. The almond is the star of this fragrance. It is very comforting and warm. Alessandro's longevity and silage are just great. The concentration and quality of the ingredients make Alessandro bottle-worthy. It is the high-scale version, in a way, of Givenchy Pi, but multiplied by 100. Elegance exudes in this composition. Alessandro is unisex, perhaps in a short lapse just a little feminine, but not much. I guy can wear this without issues. Great fragrance. 9/10

To me Alesandro is trully captivating. I love almonds, powder and I love black (sour, morello)cherries and although there are NO cherries in this luxurious potion, when I first applied it, all I could think of was black cherry liqueur. :-) This really is a dreamy, powdery scent, rather fascinating, very graceful and elegant, as well as somewhat cute. It is not complicated or intricate, to me it is straightforward, a little dry, but warm, light and breezy, bittersweet and charming. I would say that it doesn't seem to last very long on me, but maybe that has something to do with your individual nose/chemistry, as people around me say otherwise.

This is exactly as described by the notes....if you love almond you will be in heaven! Soft, powdery honey almond vanilla. Sweet but not sickening sweet by any means. It is lovely and very feminine. It is listed as unisex and while I feel that people should wear what they like despite the label I want people to know this has a very feminine feel to it. Alessandro is very warm, comforting and easy going without feeling generic. It is probably my very favorite almond dominant perfume so far. No surprises or weird notes later....just powdery almond loveliness from start to finish.

Alessandro is my elegant comfort scent. I just fall into the softness of it. It is a very feminine powdery almond scent. I love almond scents, and heliotrope, but I did not think I liked powder scents...until I tried this one. I do not find the almond bitter at all, and the honey is just the extra bonus of the fragrance. This is the only one of my fragrances that I esteem enough to keep in its box. It just feels gorgeously self-indulgent when I take it out to wear it.

Hi elliedarling, I'm italian and in particular I'm from Milan, which is the only town where Mazzolari's fragrances are sold. The price is not so high, about 73 euros for 100 ml. The price on luckyscent is enormous because they buy from the shop and sell to the sellers with two costs of forwarding charges. If you have a chance to come in Italy, visit Mazzolari shop in S.Babila square and you can touch the differences in price.

Baby powdery, talcum powdery, sweet almond. Think cozy fuzzy sweater. Great lasting power and moderate sillage. I remember when I wore it the first time and enjoying the scent bubble throughout the day asking myself "wow, what is that?" and then remembering I had put her on. A nice perfumey interpretation of almond. Soft, subtle, pretty, slightly vintage like your grandmother's makeup tray, which I happen to enjoy.

Utterly gorgeous. A completely authentic, refined, and elegantly restrained almond, without the usual overtly sweet or rose notes that so often accompany it. Not nearly as powdery as I expected it to be. A slightly raw, but natural honeyed and unsweetened vanillic overture exists, but moreover this is definitely almond dominant in the most unadulterated way. So beautiful!

I love Alessandro so much! A comforting powdery and sweet almond fragrance. There's a vanillic touch to it that rounds it out. It's not overly sweet imo. The almond note smells authentic as well. A vey beautiful, refined almond scent. And for an Eau de Toilette, performance is actually really great for me. I'll always have a bottle of this in my collection.

I always want Alessandro in the early spring for some reason! It's elegant and glamorous, the scent of a 60's Bond girl or Sophia Loren at that time. I get clean, powdery almond, can be a little plain but still wonderful :) It's costly, so I have yet to get a bottle but plan to when I finish school...

The most delicious roasted almonds in honey - I love wearing this in very hot weather – it just makes your sweat insanely sexy. I agree with the person who said this is the smell of Sophia Loren in summer. Allegedly an EDT but feels like an EDP.

This is truly the best powdery almond fragrance out there. It’s so nostalgic, yet also refined. I find it so comforting, but yet poised. Any almond lover needs this in their collection.

Enchantable in one word. Not too sweet because of the presence of bitter almond. Powdery and coccon! I tried all the fragrances with almond note but this one is the perfect balance!

Alessandro opens with a very prominent heliotrope note, gradually transitions to almond extract, and fades to suede and powdery notes. It's warm, sweet and powdery, but a sort of pinkish-beige powdery rather than crystalline white. I like the fragrance, and the longevity is phenomimal, but I wish the gorgeous opening heliotrope note lasted longer, and I wish the base of the fragrance didn't remind me at all of Jean Charles Brousseau - Ombré Rose.

At first it smelled just like sugared almonds but immediately the honey notes come out and the almonds morph from straightforward wedding almonds to lightly roasted ones, making this slightly more interesting. It is still a powdery scent but not overpowering with the powder, just enough to give a soft cloud like feel. The almonds aren't really bitter but there is a hint of sharpness, just like almond extract. Nice comfort scent.

This is powder on steroids. Straight almond powder. It's nice as it becomes more subtle. But the first hour or so is too powdery for me. When it mellows out, the almond lingers in and out and the scent becomes smooth and mellow. But you have to sit through screeching powder to get to that point. Medium sillage, medium longevity

This is rather pretty. Soft sugared almond wrapped in vanilla and sprinkled with powder. After half an hour or so, the honey starts to show, followed by the heliotrope. I don’t think it smells soapy in the slightest. Now that it’s been on for an hour or so, the almond has become a bit more toasty, but still yummy.

Extremely powdery almond. In comparison to Keiko Mecheri Loukhoum, Alessandro is definitely heavier and is less of baby powdery powder scent. However, while Loukhoum smells honey-sweetened, Alessandro is sugar-sweetened. The reference point for me is one of those long, rainbow-colored unicorn lollipops. There's a bit of an artificial cherry scent in Alessandro and it smells like one of those lollipops tastes.

this opens with a powdery almond and a hint of honey. this seems like one of those soft and cozy type of scents. then i get heliotrope and vanilla. it's quite dry and quite subtle. something in here is almost bready and therefore not really working on my skin. i like these types of scents a lot but this one doesn't work.

Smells exactly like baby powder to me.

I am so stumped by this fragrance. The Mazzolari website describes Alessandro with three simple notes: almond, honey, and vanilla. My three favorite notes in all of fragrance! Surely this would be my holy grail? Unfortunately, the composition of those notes just did not translate well to my nose. I had hoped for an amaretto or marzipan type of almond fragrance, but all I got was... vintage talcum powder? I normally love a powder scent, but this just felt like snorting Airspun face powder. I'm not normally one to call any fragrance an "grandma" scent (I think people usually just use that term for florals they don't like,) but there is something distinctly old about this fragrance - less like Grandma's vintage Chanel and more like a dusty scarf you would pull from the depths of her closet. I thought my skin chemistry may be this issue, but it smelled the same way on paper. Overall, I read Alessandro as a mature, unisex, expensive smelling powder bomb. It performed well, it just isn't for me. To all other almond enthusiasts, I would recommend against a blind buy as there is so much variance in almond notes.

Ok...first time diving into "The Mazz". I read all the comparisons ranging from public bathroom soap to sugary almonds. Who's right and who's wrong? From the looks of things, everyone is right. Hey, did anyone notice the unisex tag and the lack of male reviewers? The reason is simple: This isn't for men...at all. Let's pretend that you don't agree with my opinion. Ask yourself this: As a man, do you wanna smell gorgeous? Personally, i was hoping for gourmand greatness drenched in vanilla with my powdery accords more towards the background. Instead, i get a middle-aged duchess vibe. It all comes down to style, preference and your tolerance of powder because this one is turned up to the maxxxxxxx!

This fragrance changes from moment to moment on my skin, yet I love every stage of it. After about two hours of wearing it, I feel like I am in heaven. Such a lovely powdery, almondy fragrance. Surprisingly it lasts about 6-8 hours on me. In the evenings when I get in the shower I can still smell it a tiny bit. The only thing I don't enjoy about this perfume is the price and the fact that it's hard to find. It's currently sold out on luckyscent and that's the only place I know of that sells it.

I am glad so many people like this scent. More for all of you since it is not my cup of tea. I like some honey based scents. Chanel Beige is a favorite of mine. But this one just seems to have missed the mark somewhere. I get all the notes, but there is so much honey and powder mixed with the already overly sweet heliotrope it becomes almond nougat with powder all over it and a heliotrope blossom on top that is just ready to start decaying. That may appeal to some but not to me.

Wow. I am sooooooooooooooo glad I sent for a sample (an expensive sample) before purchasing this fragrance. All it smells like is baby powder. That's it. There's MAYBE a tiny hint of something floral, but there is certainly zero almond fragrance and I do not detect anything to do with honey. This is one of the most expensive perfumes out there and I urge anyone to please, please order a sample before purchasing this fragrance.

Mature vanilla, super rich almond powder, and raw honey that seems so thick that it masks an un listed gamey exotic musk. Makes me think of the extremely gorgeous Elizabeth Taylor on the beach in 1957, ecstatic about the brilliant jewels she’s just received, but her skin glistens far more than the diamonds ever could in the sunny French Riviera sun. I imagine her smelling like this.

This scent reminds me of a lighter and less spicy obsession which I always found to be too loud for me. I can easily see wearing Alessandro however. The notes are really well blended including the honey which seems to be one of those that you either get right or horribly wrong. I love how the powder settles in and just anchors everything on my skin. Lovely!

hi Alchimia72, I read your profile and our taste in fragrances seems so similar. I am going to order Joop and try it based on your review. About Alessandro, I would love to visit the shop in Milan. Maybe one day! In the meantime, Santa brought me a bottle for Christmas and I wear it constantly!

Very delicate, sweet, soft, sexy. It would be perfect for someone who loves tonka, because thats all I smell is tonka and some resin. I do not like tonka so this was a disappointment, but it almost made me change my mind as it dried down. It really is lovely but I can still smell that tonka.

Perhaps this needs to sit for a while for the juice to darken and deepen, I don't know, but Alessandro is a bland powdery amaretto almond blend. Once again, my beloved Infusion d'Amandes from Prada knocks this out of the park.

Delicious cherry lollipop alternating with that sharp milky-pink public bathroom handsoap. Not sure what to think.

Soapy and powdery, almondy, sweet. Ultimately too similar to baby wipes for me. Very vintage vibes
