Vaniglia

So, I've been sampling (and blind buying) many different vanilla-centric fragrances. I want to alternate fragrances and be able to afford some of my favorite vanilla fragrances with less pricey options. I like to liberally apply fragrance at bedtime, as well as when I go out, or course. I find certain fragrances aid my ability to fall off to sleep and remain asleep throughout the night. OMG...so this beautiful fragrance is EXTREMELY different from many of the other vanilla fragrances I've sampled and/or purchased. I won't bother listing all the fragrances because there are so many. But Vaniglia reminds me of one of my favorites, Jovoy "Fire At Will." I think the genius addition of orchid to Vaniglia reminds me of the mimosa in Fire At Will. There is something about the simple addition of a gentle flower in vanilla fragrances that takes the fragrance in a very unique, non-gourmand direction. I find that "direction" irresistible. I do love my straight-up, delicious, bakery-vanilla fragrances. However, I do not detect much caramel in Vaniglia. With that said, I also I love the more ethereal, vegetal, earthy smelling vanilla fragrances-the ones like Vaniglia. At this price point, I just wish Vaniglia performed a bit better. This fragrance plays close to the skin and longevity is minimal (2-3 hours). All-in-all, Vaniglia is a very beautiful, feminine, floral-vanilla fragrance. Love it! EDITED TO ADD: Before purchasing a very expensive full-bottle, I wish I knew how OILY this EdP feels when applied. I understand the extremely high essential-oil content in Mazzolari Perfumes. But this fragrance's oiliness makes it nearly impossible to wear the perfume. It's uncomfortable. Sad. EDITED TO ADD: It's nearly March 2025 and I received my full-bottle today. Must say I do LOVE this fragrance. To my nose, Vaniglia is almost identical to Ligne St Barth "Vanille West Indies," which I also own a full-bottle of and love. I'd say Vaniglia is a bit "drier," almost a tad-bit smoky and a wee-bit less sweet than Vanille West Indies. However, with the lovely addition of orchid flower to both, the two are nearly identical. Love love love this fragrance.

What can I say? Like so many, I was on a vanilla quest. I sampled many but this one stuck. Yes, it helped that I could get 100mls for the same price as others that would give me half that, but it was more than that that brought me to my purchase of this. I love caramel as a note. It's not strongly caramel-y here but it adds weight to the vanilla, just a little bit. And the orchid does add a floral vibe to the otherwise pure gourmand juice. Of course this is sweet and of course it is fluffy vanilla about to be made into a cake but the three notes together make it its own and just slightly different than others I smelled. I do mostly wear it at home when I'm with my family cuddled up and home for the night. Or I layer it with a floral scent that needs something sweet to add interest and femininity to it. This perfume last around six hours on me and radiates to arms length. When I spray one last time before getting into bed, I can still smell it in the morning and it stays on my bathrobe for days, which I enjoy. The real success for me, out of all the factors though, has to be that my kids adore this smell on me. Each and every time I wear it they exclaim "oh mom you smell amazing!" and I'm sure to get a few more hugs than usual too! That in and of itself makes this a winner for me and puts this into the priceless category meaning I will replace my bottle whenever it runs dry. I'm happy to know there are already memories in the making!

This smells like real vanilla, indulgent, sugary sweet and so soft. Like a summer breeze transporting with her the scent of happiness and carefree youth. Not that people my age can’t wear this but it literally smells like cupcakes so it does have a certain youthful quality to it. Each time I wear it, my husband says I smell like cupcakes that were just pulled out of the oven >___< I have gotten many compliments from family, friends and even strangers chasing me to ask what I am wearing!! I think this can be worn year round and that it can be layered with many other scents. I have layered this with Manakara from Indult and it smells amazing. I also layer it with Atelier des Ors Chœur des Anges for an added Summertime dimension... I’ll have to try it with other perfumes for the Fall/Winter but for now, I am just super happy to have finally acquired this little gem! It’s absolutely wonderful and Full Bottle Worthy!! Even worth getting backup bottles, honestly. If you love Vanilla, this one is an absolute must, worthy of all the praise and compliments!

Yes!! This is so GOOD!! I have been on a vanilla kick lately (I have been missing out all these years because I have discovered some good vanillas!) and have been looking for a longer lasting, sweet sugar cookie vanilla and this is it! There is something about the way the orchid, vanilla, and caramel harmonize that makes this fragrance absolutely stunning. I already own St Barth Vanille West Indies, which Vaniglia is super close in scent to (same notes, and they are both very oily too), and I like it, but for some reason Vanille West Indies doesn't seem to last longer than a few hours on me to where I can smell it without trying because it sits super close to the skin on me. I read reviews that Vaniglia has more of a scent bubble and it does! And it's a better value than VWI too because you get more for a lesser price. I will keep using VWI but will not repurchase since I have Vaniglia and it has better performance on me and smells almost identical to me. I also love the simplicity of the bottle, it looks so good on my vanity!

This is pure bliss in a bottle. I love this and it's my current signature. It's not a thick, heavy vanilla, but rather a light and airy one. The caramel gives it sweetness, but it's not cloying (to me) even in higher (+30°C) temperatures. I get more caramel than vanilla with this one. Sillage is moderate and this has a lasting power of about 5-6 hours on me. Vaniglia is very similar to Vanille West Indies, which is a bit more floral and tiiiny bit sharper than this one in my opinion. Sucre Noir, while being also in the same ballpark, is a tad more sugary and has less caramel making it slightly brighter than this. If Vaniglia was a color it'd be light yellow. I also have Dua's dupe for this (simply called Dua Vaniglia) and I find it having more of a burnt aspect to it compared to Mazzolari, which makes it a little darker. The difference is not too noticeable though, and it's a very good dupe for this if you're on a budget. I still prefer the original to the Dua version, but don't regret having that one too.

This is my most complimented fragrance of all time. At first you get a blast of a sweet and waxy floral facet - like the scent of an orchid petal and then the sparkly vanilla comes through. It’s not a dense or heavy vanilla though - think of a fluffy vanilla cloud. Around 5 minutes later you get this warm caramel that supports the floral and vanilla. As it dries down it’s caramel and vanilla dominant. I would say this is unisex but more fem leaning. It’s super long lasting and let’s just say the sillage and projection is strong. I went over my friends house and his exact words were “is that you that smells like vanilla extract? I can smell you from upstairs. You smell like a cupcake”🤭. The only downfall for me is that it’s oily and leaves a residue so if you self tan or wear body makeup just beware that it will leave oil marks. When I don’t know what to wear this is my easy reach fragrance and I always feel sexy and cute when I wear it! Backup bottle approved!

Mazzolari Vaniglia is the ultimate "final boss" of gourmands, widely considered the truest and most mouthwatering vanilla fragrance ever created. It captures the scent of a fluffy, toasted marshmallow dipped in warm cake batter and gooey caramel, yet it avoids smelling synthetic or candle-like thanks to a subtle whisper of exotic orchid. This is a dense, high-quality "oily" vanilla that feels like a luxury dessert from a five-star hotel, developing a cozy, balsamic, marshmallow-fluff texture as it warms on the skin. While it isn't a loud or aggressive scent, it creates a delicious, intimate bubble that lasts for over eight hours, leaving a heavenly trail of vanilla custard on clothes for days. For the vanilla purist who wants to smell like an expensive, sophisticated treat rather than a grocery store cupcake, this fragrance is the absolute holy grail.

Simple, linear vanilla with no musk, oud, fruit, etc. to compete. I find it quite similar smelling to Outremer Vanille, but Vaniglia has an oil base that makes it a little more concentrated and lasting. It’s a pretty, pleasant and sweet, long lasting vanilla but sits close to the skin. It doesn’t project loudly but you’ll have a small scent bubble and other vanilla lovers will smell it and compliment you when you’re in close quarters. This is nice on its own or layered with other scents. I think it’s too expensive for what it is; you can get a similar scent profile from Outremer, Nemat Vanilla oil or Kuumba Made Vanilla Bean. I don’t know whether I will replace when finished unless I can get it discounted again. However, I’m enjoying it, and happy to have in my collection.

I am thoroughly obsessed with this! Perfect vanilla scent to my nose. This is what I was hoping Escapade gourmande would be. I tried that thinking it would be my perfect vanilla, but was so disappointed. It smelled like playdoh to me. Vaniglia is warm, sweet but not cloying, and has great projection and lasting power! I seriously cannot stop sniffing my wrist. The caramel note in this is heaven. I have a sample from lucky scent, dabbed it on 6 hours ago and can still smell it. I have a feeling it will last days on clothes. I’m resisting the urge to buy a full bottle immediately..... going to try to use up my sample first, we’ll see how that goes lol. Highly recommend sampling this if you’re on the hunt for THE perfect vanilla!

This scent is a dense vanilla with light hints of caramelly vanilla. It literally goes on thick too- you can feel it on the skin. It starts off very sweet vanilla and as it wears, while vanilla dominates the scent, the hints of a vanilla caramel come through. It is definitely yummy. The caramel notes in it are NOT overpowering...they are not salty or buttery, but they are there lightly. It is like a thick sweet vanilla batter being blended and someone down the hall is making smooth caramels and just the lightest scent wafts into the room with it. Overall - a very nice thick sweet gourmand vanilla scent. It doesn't change too much either. It almost reminds me of Tihota. The longevity is incredible too - like 12 + hours easy.

I'm a sucker for vanilla fragrances and I will even try vanilla fragrances that the Fragrantica majority deem "more female", thus here I am trying Mazzolari Vaniglia, which to me is absolutely unisex. As expected from the note breakdown this is pretty one dimensionally a sweet vanilla fragrance. As some has stated, it's a little bit synthetic but it doesn't smell cheap to me. Oddly enough there's a scent that reminds me of marshmallows, but not just any marshmallows, the marshmallows in Lucky Charms cereal! And I kinda like it! My biggest problem with MV is the poor performance on my skin. It has longevity, but very little sillage and that's not acceptable for the price of a bottle.

Nice basic and creamy vanilla, with hardened warm and deep caramel. The caramel shines more as it dries down and warms on the skin. Mazzolari Vaniglia is not too powdery, which is great for this profile. I don’t get musk either, which is neither good or bad but just a note. Starts of soft and then intensifies with projection also as it warms and is long lasting. You can just tell there is a high oil content in this because it is so smooth and blended. Identical twins to St. Barts Vanille West Indies smell-wise but this projects more, even though they both last. It’s a better vanilla than Tihota imo, different in some ways. This is truly the best caramel vanilla fragrance.

This is one of my favorite vanilla fragrances. It’s a cozy blanket of caramel and marshmallow with the slightest floral whisper. It’s definitely a crowd pleaser. On my skin, it lasts 5-6 hours and radiates about arm’s length. Careful to not spray on clothing as this is a very oily juice. I noticed a number of reviews mentioning they couldn’t smell the scent. I wonder if this is one of those fragrances that cause one to become anosmic. I say this because there have been several occasions where I have no longer smelled the scent on me, but people stop me to ask what scent I’m wearing. Curious if others have had similar experiences.

Tested on a cotton pad and at first, I was uncertain of it because it smells exactly like vanilla extract, right down to the booziness that I don't like. However, the dry down is MAGICAL! Places this firmly as an attendant to the vanilla queen Tihota. Along with the sugary crunchiness of Sucre Noir by Arte Profumi, I have found my vanilla trifecta. Will I continue searching out vanilla scents? Of course lol! Queen Tihota has attendants, but I am highly curious if there is a masculine marketed vanilla scent out there that could be her consort (maybe Ultra Male but it's more root beer float than pure vanilla, although I love it).

If you love vanilla, you will be left speechless. I still can't figure out how they did it, linear yet sophisticated, a masterpiece. The vanilla is sweet but NOT cloying at all (maybe it's the caramel that keeps the vanilla tamed), quite powdery but not a sneezer, and the orchid in there, PERFECTION! it lasts a hilarious amount of time (I can say it is the most long lasting perfume in my collection, beating Alien and Angel) and the silage is more than average. It is SURREAL! and the price makes you smile:) ahhhhh, that moment when you find the holy grail of vanillas!

I disagree with the previous reviewer that Vaniglia resembles Outremer Paris’ Vanille EDT. I had a friend purchase the Outremer version for me and was very disappointed. It smelt like popcorn on me. I wore it for a few hours hoping the popcorn opening would go away but it remained. Although Vaniglia has a similar opening, that’s where the similarities end. It quickly morphs into a rich creamy caramel vanilla. Imagine eating expensive vanilla ice cream and dripping it down the front of your shirt. That’s how it smells like. Sweet, creamy and delicious.

Perfect vanilla cotton candy. I'm getting all the promises of marshmallow and sugar, actually delivered! There is nothing in here taking away from the beautiful simplicity of airy vanilla sugar --no smoke, musk, or chemical. Woohoo! My daughter exclaimed how good it smelled and that it was "filling up the whole house". Unfortunately my husband thinks it smells like a black and mild, "good compared to cigarettes but still not good" 😭😭😭 Happy to be getting a Tihota sample in the mail soon, as I am still on the hunt for my perfect vanilla!

Similar to st. Barth Vanille west indies but has a little bit more oomph to it . I’m happy to have this in my collection . It also smells similar to indult - tahota but this is more longer lasting on my skin . The orchid is there but it’s a realistic creamy orchid .. and it has a touch of greenness to it from the imagery of a creamy white orchid flower attached to the stem. Its gorgeous and mostly gourmand but elevated The only thing is the price even though it lasts well it’s still a bit too steep. Will see if it’s a repurchase

This is a gorgeous vanilla fragrance. It starts really sweet, really sugary and thick much like vanilla buttercream frosting. On my skin it doesn't really change a lot but the vanilla shines through out. Every whiff I get is different but always delicious. Sometimes I get a deep, warm vanilla similar to tihota, sometimes I get a really buttery caramelly vanilla. Very cosy and enjoyable. The longevity and sillage of this fragrance is very impressive, more than 12 hours on skin, several days on fabric. Love it.

I have a sample of Montale's Vanille Absolu and while it is similar, Vanigilia is ALOT smoother.... You have to wait for Vanille Absolu to dry down for it to become more wearable and pleasant. A dupe for this is Dua's Vaniglia. I own both... wish I didn't fork out the money for Mazzolari as it's very oily. Both last a very long time, 6-8 hours of smelling like yummy cotton candy and vanilla. Obviously a winner in my book. :-)

Add me to the choir of people who love Vaniglia! To me it smells like a perfectly-baked American sugar cookie (the kind that doesn't need frosting or, ugh, sprinkles). It has a fresh-baked airiness, with the distinct smell of caramelization where the cookie made contact with the baking sheet. That recreation of Maillard reaction in a cookie is where Vaniglia's beauty lies. No candle vibes, definite please-eat-me vibes.

At first, I thought that this had poor performance, but I was wrong. I was smelling this perfume on me all day. My son said that I smelled like delicious cookies. My boyfriend was snuggling in on me more with this on. I personally think it smells like cinnamon toast crunch. And I do overspray my perfumes, so I was able to smell this on my jacket for days. Love this one

One of the best vanillas I've tried. This does remind me of Tihota but Tihota is richer and heavier. This is lighter, and sweeter. Like a fluffy vanilla cloud. It's not too sweet for me, but I can see it being too sweet for some. This is like the daytime vanilla and Tihota is the nighttime vanilla. Even though it feels very light, it actually projects quite well.

YUM! This smells like a perfectly baked Betty Crocker Yellow Cake: vanillic, buttery, sugary and caramelly. Vaniglia is a linear composition that doesn't change at all on my skin from beginning to end, but it does smell absolutely delicious the entire time. A luscious gourmand. Thanks butterbean for the generous sample! <3 Sillage and longevity are impressive.

Out of all of the perfumes with this particular DNA, Mazzolari is my absolute favorite because it's the most elegant and rich out of the bunch. I don't get a 'simple vanilla' while wearing this. This is stunning and perfectly decadent. If you're deciding between this and some others, (such as St Barth's), trust me and go with this.

My favorite vanilla since Crabtree and Evelyn’s 1996 Vanilla EDT. And I have been looking all over. Everything nowadays (in the mainstream) has a butter or coffee or cocoa note. I just wanted a honeyed sweet sugary kitchen cabinet vanilla. Simple. And since they don’t make em like that anymore, to me the price is justified.

This is hands down my FAVORITE vanilla. It's all season, sweet but natural vanilla, moderate sillage (arm's length for first 3-4 hours, then more of a skin scent). I wear it alone or layer it with another vanillas, spices or rose scents. This one always get compliments.

There are only two fragrances in the whole world that I’m lusting after, and this is one of them. This is so unbelievably BEAUTIFUL. It smells a lot like Outremer Vanilla, but it has more staying power and it’s richer. It’s my absolute favorite vanilla fragrance!

Vaniglia Mazzolari is one of the best gourmand fragrances out there. The smell is heaven scent. I wore this to work and everyone that past my desk kept giving me compliments all day long. One of my best Vanilla Perfumes. 10 out of 10. Full bottle worthy for sure.

Smell delicious at some points,other time is too sweet, like vanilla and burnt sugar. Literally! I got a sample but not sure if I will get a full bottle. Maybe I’ll try again when the weather is very cold. Too sweet for my nose

I absolutely love this vanilla. The scent profile are a simple three notes, but they come together so beautifully. It's the right amount of sweetness without being cloying. It projects, has longevity and great silage.

This reminds me of my favorite discontinued L'Occitane's Vanille (the one in rectangular bottle) which I bought back in the 90s, it also had a caramel note. If you like caramelly vanillas, this one is really good.

This is a light vanilla sweet marshmallow perfume. Nothing mind blowing but it is addictive. I get whiffs of the scent for about 3-4 hrs on my skin. I love it so much I bought a back up bottle immediately.

@cunt.dracula: your bottle may need some time to macerate. Once that vanilla has time to mature, that sweetens will definitely show up and show out.

This is a beautiful, delicious-smelling pure vanilla. I can't get enough! Very similar to Tihota (and even maybe -- sacrilege!-- Outremer Vanille).

Delicious, when paired with my vanilla lotion from VS smells like a vanilla buttery cake! Yum! Teenager approved for me! Last a long time!

Smells like delizia Di Marshmallow, or maybe vice versa idk. Sweet and kind of powdery. Caramel + vanilla. This is candy sweet.

Sweet, straightforward vanilla with a hint of marshmallow. Absolutely love. Definitely too oily to spray on close but she LASTS

More of a spun or toasted sugar than caramel. I do love this vanilla if you want a very sugary cotton candy kind.

this is a lovely vanilla skin scent. its quiet and close to the skin and isn't complex or complicated at all. I compared it alongside profumum gioiosa and it was very plain and linear compared to that. It goes on very oily, and was still faintly apparent on my skin 10 hours later. I wouldn't want to get this on my clothes as its super oily. Its nice, but not for me as its just too simple and quiet. EDIT: 3/28/25 - I bought a 5ml decant to try it out again. I couldn't stop thinking about it after the 0.7ml dabber ran out. I thought it would be nice to have on hand for spring and summer, and its comforting and straightforward and rich feeling and creamy and high quality. Its sweet but not too sweet, its warm but there are no spices. It will "go with" everything.. (I like it a lot now, in case you were wondering.) Also, I ask my coworkers to tell me if they can smell me, so that I know how things project past my body and my coworker said as soon as I walked in "I can smell you today... is that vanilla?" I had two vanillas on: I had Cuir Beluga on a scarf and Mazzolari Vaniglia on my arms. I had her smell both, and she said that it was the Cuir Beluga she was smelling off of my scarf. We both agreed that the Cuir Beluga was the slightly masculine leaning of the two, and the more projecting of the two. neither were offensive to her (and she would tell me if it was!!) and if anything she preferred the Mazzolari Vaniglia for her picky nose but thought they were both nice. In the final stages of the dry-down I am left with only a trace of caramel on my skin. my skin smells sweet, and faintly vanilic. Not a bad fragrance for skin, but it is very very sweet - maybe sweeter at the end than when it started out!

I bought a sample from Luckyscent of this Mazzolari vanilla perfume to compare to Vanille West Indies by Ligne St. Barth because it’s voted as a similar fragrance. I fell in love with the Ligne St. Barth vanilla after one wearing, but my bank account didn’t. Checking prices, Vaniglia a much better deal ....though still on the high end of my fragrance budget. How does Vaniglia compare. What’s that old saying about pizza... even a mediocre pizza is still pretty good pizza? And that’s how I feel about this vanilla. Vaniglia isn’t bad at all. Still comforting though very sweet, with very good stamina. I don’t have a sample of the St. Barth to do a side by side comparison, but my best guess is that the Vaniglia composition incorporates an inferior vanilla. Then the caramel, sweet note drowns out the orchid note making the overall blend feel less sophisticated. I know my review is not going to change people’s love for this perfume, it’s the brands top seller. But I think it’s important to be honest and my sniffer thinks this one is a notch or two below Vanille West Indies.

I bought a sample off Luckyscent because I was curious how this compares to my favourite pure vanilla scent, Tihota. Upon applying, I smelt nothing. I was quite disappointed. Yes, this fragrance is SO oily. About ten minutes after it started to dry, the sugar and sweetness of this scent was projecting everywhere. It was almost too much. It did not take too long until this turned into a skin scent of sugar, cupcakes and vanilla. This fragrance was described from my boyfriend as cotton candy. Vaniglia is quite light and airy compared to the musk and depth (which I enjoy) in Tihota. They smell quite similar. Tihota is more musk heavy, which adds complexity to that fragrance. This one smells just like cupcakes and sugar. Vanilla 28 also is in this vein. 28 being smokey, more complex, a little musky and floral. Edit: St. Barth’s West Indies is actually a closer comparison. The latter is just a little bit more musky and has this note of vanilla extract. Overall, they smell identical

I was looking for caramel and some members on the forum recommended me to try Vaniglia. It’s a beautiful scent and definitely has a caramel note, but it wasn’t caramelly enough for me at that moment. Mind you, I wanted something really gooey and buttery, so it was not easy to satisfy my cravings. Like the name says, this is mainly a vanilla fragrance. And a good one! It’s super sweet and intense, but not cloying or sticky. This vanilla is bright and uplifting. The caramel is a nice addition and the orchid note makes it a bit more airy and powdery than many other similar vanillas. It’s very well-rounded and lasts over night, and it has that air of quality, that it quite frankly needs to have at that price. This is realitively linear, it’s just a HQ warm and sweet gourmand vanilla scent, nothing more, nothing less, no surprises here. I wouldn’t buy it for that reason, I like my vanillas more complex, but if you’re looking for a pure sweet vanilla, definitely try it.

This is a lightweight, plain vanilla with sugar. It's fluffy and sugary, like vanilla cake. Likable, but very simple. I need more richness and complexity. In the realm of edible vanillas, Arte Profumi's Sucre Noir is 99% the same but seems a smidge weaker. Jousset's Accident a la Vanille is similar but with a silky, buttery popcorn note. My favorite remains Maison Mataha's Escapade Gourmande, which has a deeper bourbon vanilla, caramelized sugar and smells like flan. In the realm of non edible vanillas, M.Micallef's Note Vanillee is a deep bourbon vanilla but has a slightly piercing white floral note. Indult's Tihota is a nice and simple creamy musky white vanilla that's easy to wear. Guerlain's Spiritueuse Double Vanille is more complex, floral and incensy. But my favorite would be Tiziana Terenzi's Dionisio, which is a more seductive, musky, animalic white chocolate vanilla. Smell: 8 out of 10 Longevity: 7 out of 10 Feminine For reference, I'm female.
