Charming Pup

Light, clean powdery scent with fresh laundry-like undertones. It's a good inoffensive scent, similar to baby powder but there's almost like a light carrot cake accord in there too. I'd say this is feminine leaning unisex scent. So tender and soft I just wanna cuddle up in this scent.

A stunning, smooth composition — creamy, powdery, and lightly soapy. Subtle florals and an enveloping charm that lasts all day. Elegant, definately perceptible yet understated.

I’m not going to lie—I didn’t buy this perfume because of the scent, I bought it because of the bottle. I was determined to get at least one perfume from this collection because the bottles are so freaking cute. My favorite bottle was the dragon, but I didn’t like the scent. I took my time smelling all of them, and by far my favorite scent was Charming pup. It smells pleasantly nice—very clean, fresh, and easy to wear. It honestly gives “clean girl” vibes. I’ll admit, I probably wouldn’t have bought it if the bottle wasn’t this cute, but the scent is actually really, really nice. The more I wear it, the more I like it. It’s very enjoyable and has pretty decent longevity. Overall, I like it a lot.

I like this one best out of the series. Iris and carrot are always top of my list for notes and they play so nice here! Powder, warm - a little bit like when your cat smells nice, honestly. Definitely charming like the name says! The tonka is thankfully not sweet at all, it just gives it a foundation for the other scents to work. Reminds me of lovely little old people.

I’m not made of stone and that cap is just so so so—too!—cute. Fingers crossed. I'mmm gonna love this. So yes, I approached it already half-sold, already charmed by the pup's wagging tail. And at first sniff you do get this orris crunch, somewhat like a lemon-and-earl-grey flavoured cracker, zesty, slightly floral and carby with its delightful hint of fragrant starch. None of that boiled carrots nonsense but an adorable touch of edible, earthy carrot seed. A fuzzy rose and vetiver sneak in with that soft, rooty floral polish, giving this scent a crowd-pleasing spring parsnip vibe. But that fun little trick fades fast. Not even 5 minutes later, everything sort of blurs. This orris fades into whisper than texture, tonka softens the background into this generic feminine mess, and cedarwood is practically non-existent. No longer watercolour, this scent is now murky water coloured by a thousand insignificant pastels, vaguely sweet and a little pale. Just smells like... your everyday tester strip. Gaaah, this pup... It's cute but forgettable, and while writing this, I find that I can conveniently, too, simply sum up the whole line.. A sniff once, a half-smile, and you're done with the line. I don’t regret giving it a test (I mean, did I mention the bottle??) but it doesn’t stay. Not on the skin, not in the memory. Just okay.

After a rather aggressive opening, the striking rose and tonka take the lead and continue the warming etude. In summer, this Pup feels suffocatingly overwhelming, but overall I can see how it can be likable. Vetiver and cedar are barely present, or at least to my nose, which is a pity, they could’ve neutralized the sweetness a bit. Longevity of wear is tremendous—it stayed on my skin for 6-8 hours.

Picked up a sample of this recently. I smealled all of the 6 new realeases on paper and this was my favorite. Second fave on paper was the Elephant one. On skin it smells a bit musky to me. I'm sure it's just suggestion bc of the name, but I do get some wet fur kind of smell with this. That's not necessarily a bad thing but I'm just now sure how I feel about it. It needs some further testing.

Smells a bit retrospective. Like an elegant man in his 70ies reading a book on the bench on a nice warm autumn day.
