MCM Twenty Four Evening

I have been carefully watching this brand from the 90's and was then available in asia, somewhat missing in the midst 2000 and appear again. It was handmade in Germany for the leather accessories and clothing were italian made. I still kept a vintage wallet and the embossed logo in inner wallet says "michael cromer" so i guess it's the name of the designer? Now the leather products are licensed and made in korea. I guess, bears the name of MCM the quality still that good.

Saw this in a perfume store, new old stock. Got so enthusiast to buy, but when i had first spray got horribly dissapointed. The content destroyed, the liquid got so yellow it isn't the same as I had and the smell?? Bad contents...so after years the ingredients expired, leaving with bad after taste. I wish this would re-produced and so are the morning.

Spicy fragrance, very different to the morning ones. It's of course a complement to wear for the evening and long lasting While the morning cheers the day, very pleasant fragrance As I said, I will never forget the twenty four collection and Very MC Those three were the BEST If I'm not wrong isn't MCM stands for Michael Cromer Munich?

A masterpiece. In fact, I really don't understand why so few people have heard of it, let alone try it. Pungent. Erotic. Think of sex in a damp cellar.

I have this bottle, i sprayed it twice and never again. The smell repulses me. I saw the notes and bought it, worst move ever. Willing to trade it's a 3.3 or 3.4 bottle i spent too much on. smh Willing to trade if anyone wants it. All it does is, collect dust on my dresser. But now back to the topic...the scent lasted for about 6 hours on me... It would've been longer but i wash my waist.

05. november 2012 I have found a review about this fragrance in one blog and wanted to share it with the rest of you, hope the owner doesn ́t mind: "This 1993 counterpart to Twenty Four Morning is as substantial as the accords would lead you to believe. I assure you that this particular masculine, while extremely rich and dense, is not for everyone. That goes double for the fragrant faint-of-heart. Only those who gravitate toward edgy and substantial need apply here. The triple threat of Cumin, Cinnamon and Civet is alive, well and very interactive in Twenty Four Evening. Twenty Four Evening opens with a blast of citric spice. Bergamot, Lavender and Lemon intermingled with cumin and pepper is nothing to sneeze at. It's not so much overpowering as it is full bodied. I love the gravity and edginess of this accord. The cumin note is fascinating in this fragrance and I have yet to find one implemented in a more superior fashion. Cumin is a tough sell, yet it works wonders here. I have to reiterate that this masculine possesses all the aspects of a love-it or hate-it scent. Once the top settles down after 5 minutes, a densely blurred floral array appears and is accented with even more spice. The volume has always been perfect on my skin and this facet is commendable for such a heady brew. No one note here takes precedence and the heart acts as a crew completing a task. As challenging as this is, I imagine this would smell extremely sensual and alluring on a very confident woman as well. It calls to mind clean but sweaty sex after a night on the town. Twenty Four Evening amps up on me from the onset of exertion and becomes slightly feral. Once the opening and heart have combined and played their part, the base and drydown aren't far removed from what you've already experienced. It's smoother with less presence, yet still substantial enough from the carry-over of spices and heart notes. Civet stands above its peers in the base and the extended drydown affords bits of resin, leathery wood and musk. Sillage is perfect and longevity is approximately 6 hours plus on me. I got a mini of this one (along with MCM Twenty Four Morning) about a year ago when I ordered some fragrances from the very generous Basenotes user xmen. Kudos to passionata20 for posting Aromi's concise and on-point review below. I think he deciphers the fragrance quite well. However, it is a bit different to my nose. MCM Twenty Four Evening is a complex fragrance that's hard to classify, but if anything, I'd call it a floral fougère, primarily. I don't really get any cumin, but it opens up sweet and spicy with some lavender/fern elements as well as a good dollop of cinnamon. I smell a lot of honey, which sort of brings it close to a lot of mid/late-80's aromatic fougères, but at the same time, I also get some subtle spicy/fruity elements, ala Xeryus Rouge by Givenchy. I actually don't get anything animalic out of this; no civet, no cumin, nothing "stinky" at all - just a very complex oriental. I should also note that, on my skin, it opens up with what smells like a subtle blast of aldehydes. Overall, the total life of the fragrance is about 8 hours on my skin. I'll have to revisit this one, especially in order to spray it on, but maybe if I like it enough I'll consider searching for a bottle. For now, I'm simply glad to have a mini on hand.

MCM Evening is a truly wonderful fragrance --- as sophisticated and subtle as the best offerings from Patou, Caron or Guerlain. And as Foetidus points out, it was all the more distinctive for its appearance in the midst of the glut of aquatics. So it baffles me why its creators made it so damn WEAK! No projection at all --- within an hour, I have to put my nose right on my hand to detect that I'm wearing anything. I can still get traces of it several hours later, but this is a fragrance that deserves more than traces. If it were a decent strength ---- it doesn't need to be a powerhouse, but this is really wimpy ---- I'd give it four stars, but three is all I can give it, because it's frustrating to have such a nice scent go so unnoticed.
