Hunter

Hunter is different than my imagination was abut this fantastic perfume. I expected something sweet and resinous but this one is so well balanced that I cant recognize any individual compounds. IMHO Hunter is exactly on the opposite site of scale than strong, sharp and sparkling fragrances. When I’m wearing it I feel soft warm blanket toughing my skin. This is unbelievably well composed mix of the fir resin and vanilla. Tobacco is also present throughout whole life of the fragrance but it plays second role. I like the Hunter a lot. My perfect choice for the lazy and cold days.

Love it, and honoured my first outing in it to the farmers market by wearing a flannel shirt, even my 8 year old daughter "love it"!

First try of MCMC Fragrances is Hunter, recommended from Robes08’s YouTube video on it, a mix of fir, tobacco, and vanilla. It’s a good mix of green, dark, woody, sharp, and slightly sweet, and in my experience of it, vanilla is more in the background behind the fir and tobacco. Overall, it’s fairly subtle as dark conifer fragrances go, not terrible sharp or spicy or earthy, a far cry from Dasein Winter Nights or even Profumum Arso, but it has a raw, natural quality to it that nonetheless makes it quite striking, particularly in the opening, and I think that may people would welcome this is a more careful (yet still interesting) option that better serves them in close quarters while still having good cold weather longevity. I’m trying out the EDP spray but it’s also available in a perfume oil and candle. The EDP is priced at $98 for 50ml, very reasonable in the current market, and sold primarily through the house website, though it seems like there may be other parties that sell it as well. 7 out of 10

Warm, medical tobacco all way around followed by a creamy vanilla of extremely high quality. I have tried lots of perfumes with tobacco note, but it has never worked good enough for me, but here it's so alluring and likeable. I don't find this to be feminine perfume, but it's definetely unisex and I think every woman can pull this off. What I love here is the quality and image it's making in my head. At heart part resin really hits in and it smells like fir tree in a wet summer day, maybe after a storm or something, I can't actually explain I can just say it smells very natural and unique and I'm yet again amazed of how comforting and lovely this all is. If you like herbal/medical perfume you should give this a try.

This is amazing! I did not expect to like it based on my experience with other tobacco scents however this has all of what I'd hope to find in such a fragrance. It's warm and soft and like the wafts of trailing out of a cigar shop. If this were on a man's skin I would be totally drawn to him. For me this lovely tobacco is the dried leaf, unsmoked, tamped down in a pipe and on a walk through the misty woods of the northwest in woolens just pulled from storage with herbal sachets and a tiny bit of cedar (must be that fir resin). The vanilla peeks out after the initial drydown. This is handsome sophisticated and comfortable.

Hunter isn't predatory; it's for the lodge post-hunt, in slippers by the fire. It's simple and soothing, rustic and refined. Vanilla throws a creamy veil over the whole composition, rendering the scent cashmere-blanket-soft.. The tobacco adds a little bit of sweetness, and the fir is green but not sharp. It's natural and cozy. It's not boring, and I can't imagine anyone being offended by it, either. MCMC is hit-or-miss in my experience, but this is beautiful.

If it weren't for the fir I would like this. The fir adds a medicinal/herbal feel that is soft, but still too noticeable for me. You can't smell much vanilla, its mainly tobacco. A dry woody tobacco scent with the green/herbal fir.

I'm enjoying this scent, but I think I would only wear it on occasions where I would be alone. I don't feel at all feminine or sexy in it, but it's comfortable. I'd really like to try it on a man's skin.

Very mild scent, and very well blended (no particular notes stand out). Unfortunately, this really does fade to nothing very quickly, with about a 31⁄2 hour longevity on cloth (and even less on skin)! I am glad I only have a sample, because the short life of this disappoints me. I shall try it layered on top of a more vibrant scent (I am looking at you, Gentle Fluidity Silver!), in hopes that this will raise the performance of Hunter.

Tried this from a Birch Box sample. This reminded me of breakfast or a syrupy Indian dessert called a jalebi though sometimes the notes felt a little alcohol-heavy and harsh, contradicting the sweetness. I was surprised there were only three notes. Even with that little, this scent seemed a little out of control and, at times, unpleasant.

Part of the 4 Scent Sampler. Hunter was high on my must-try list, but alas, the gorgeous Balsam Fir dries down musty on me within a few minutes, fading into the barest hint of vanilla.

I was excited to finally try this, though when I did--in a roll on--it smelled like nothing. Absolutely nothing. Well, maybe not nothing--it smelled almost imperceptibly of a leaf rubbed in clear cooking oil, from very far away. How can such a non-thing be popular? Seriously, I'm interested in thoughts/feedback. Thanks!

I absolutely love how this smells like the deciduous forests near where I live on the east coast (USA). The tobacco isn't overly heavy or animalic, and the notes are well balanced and blended to just smell like the outdoors. It has a soft sillage which makes me want to continue to spray it.

Beautiful, beautiful fragrance. Unfortunately very weak longevity (minutes ?) Sillage weak as well. Hangs close to skin. Lots of spraying from big bottle didn't fix things Could do with synthetics to strengthen it to at least average staying power, please. My bottle made Jan 2014.
