Bleu Satin

I’ve been in the niche fragrance game for years, like always,I blind bought a bunch of samples by going off notes and no reviews. Reviews, including mine should never be taken seriously, rather give you general direction or for me entertainment. I’ve missed out on so many gems and found so many by being my own.. ANYWAYS. this reminds me of Aventus, like a lot. But it’s not, it’s a well crafted and unique fragrance. This is definitely masculine, which as a 33 yr old male, I prefer. It’s so vibrant and young feeling , yet has a highly sophisticated and dollar value to it . IF you like Nishane havicat and Creeds Aventus, do yourself a favor and try this, gives you a different take on the genre I personally think Aventus isn’t what people make it out to be. I remember when it came out and all the hype it had, I couldn’t wait to get my nose on it ... then it came and I was like, hmmm yeah this smells good, but I wanted more. I am not a fan of clones, it’s not original. However, Nishane killed Aventus in my opinion and That makes me excited. This fragrance didn’t kill anything but it’s good. It will be a hit as well.

I've smelled and owned Aventus, Hacivat, Bond.com, SOP, Orion, Morning Chess and others and I think this is just as good as Aventus, and better than current batches on the drydown (where it's similar).But the opening and mid (first 45 minutes) are different imo. This opens with prominent black currant/cassis. Watermelon note comes in later and it smells better than I was expecting. Not synthetic smelling. This is also pretty strong and has decent longevity and projection. This is better than current batches of Aventus which have more bergamot and less musk. There's a high quality saffron and blackberry here too but I don't get leather or much woods on my skin. In the drydown you do get some Aventus feels. This might be may favorite take on this type of scent except vintage batches of Aventus, which are better. Over the years I've grown tired of the Aventus DNA, but this is different enough to get me excited about it again. Quality, blending, ingredients, uniqueness (somewhat), performance, it's all here. Scent 8.5/10 Performance 7/10

Well, it took me a few wearings, but I think I've found my favorite fragrance in the Aventus scent profile orbit. At first I thought "oh, just another Aventus clone". But I just enjoy this more. The "fruity" and "woody" accords on the Fragrantica page should be reversed. For both Bleu Satin and Aventus. "Fruity" should be listed high up on the accord stack for this, and "woody" should be lower. Bleu Satin, for me at least, is far more fruity than Aventus, in both prominence and persistence. I like Aventus and have a full bottle, but have always been a bit annoyed with the pencil-smelling smokey birch drydown. Aventus would be better with the fruitiness of Bleu Satin. MDCI comes through again. I have full bottles of Invasion Barbare and Chypré Palatin, and have already put Ambre Topkapi and Le Barbier de Tanger on my full bottle to-buy list. Bleu Satin will join them.

Oh wow – the Aventus feel is there, but this just feels better and just more elevated. This has a slight bubblegum element to it, which I do enjoy, as well as the fruity-citrus accord. I feel it works, as a unified scent, with a concept, a theme and the execution. I’m gonna need to try this out a few more times as I am quite taken by it. I usually give a scent a few wears before I make a decision on it, but as far as first impressions, it’s a big yes. ***EDIT*** Sampled this three or four more times, and to me it is too much like Aventus. That might not be the experience you have, but it is mine. Nothing at all wrong with Aventus, or even that this smells like that, but it just isn't amazing enough for me and my tastes. You might love it, though. I didn't love it enough...

Was super worried about the bad reviews below... I really like Aventus smells, but creed has lost it’s quality, I have 3 bottles from MDCI which I like it so much!! Ceclie is also one of my favorite perfumer, so i bought it yesterday. Sprayed 4 times today, the longevity and sillage is surprisingly good with my body chemistry! I sprayed at 7am I still can smell it at 6pm I’m so so so happy the dried down is way smoother than Aventus. A must try, try it on your skin! Don’t let the comments below disappoint you Edit: have been wearing this for 5 days performance is amazing it lasts on my skin for 10hours+

A better, more exquisite, dressier and, at the same time, weaker take on Aventus DNA. Really reminds me of a more advanced version of 2016 batches. It is expensive but cheaper than Aventus (retail price comparison). I say get a sample before re-purchasing Aventus or as an additional alternative to. To all Aventus haters: skip this one. Even if it's more likable to you, than the original thing, it will still remind you of it :)

Starts similar to Aventus then takes different direction. I agree with Aventus Elysium comparison. It’s fresh and people pleaser, I did get a few compliments from ladies, so I don’t think performance is that bad, longevity and sillage are good on my skin. One think I must mention I did spray a lot, it’s one of those scents that you can’t overspray even if you want to.

Fruity Pineapple Aventus Batch without the Birch, and a touch more Vanilla. I like this more than Aventus, because I always thought the Birch was too much and ruined the scent for me. Still a bit woody and just the right amount of what resembles oakmoss. I would buy this over Aventus everytime. Nothing synthetic smelling about this 1 either.

Wow!! Think a watermelon instead of pineapple based Aventus with a suede /soft leather dry down. This has been a real compliment getter from my wife and from my co workers. Performance on my skin is amazing a good 8-10 hrs with a decent projection.

It doesn’t list it in the notes, but this opens with sweet pineapple, candy like( but not cloying) florals and vanilla. No bitterness, this is where the satin comes in (in the form of rounded fruits, floral and woods).

Gorgeous, classy, smooth like all the MDCI fragrances. This one is in the Aventus family but with a twist. I actually prefer it over the current Aventus, by a large margin. It is so high quality and addictive!

To the comment below me - are you sure? I have a tester from the perfume house itself (they were generous to give me extra samples with another order I placed apart from the 10ml ones) and it really really smells like aventus. I sprayed it this morning and I was stunned at the resemblance, now I can't be sure if it is aventus or aventus absolu but it has the distinct sour fruit scent to it - I believe it may be the pineapple. It does last a long time (7+ hours) and after showering i could still smell it on me. It doesn't change a lot from the start to end, it is linear scent and throughout the entire time it doesn't lose how close it smells like aventus. Now I don't own aventus I smelled it few times and remember it very well, this one is definitely resembling it. Whether intentionally or not I don't care - I just know there is very good alternative from a niche house with better longevity than creed. It is a beautiful scent, strong contender for full bottle purchase. MDCI did a great job with this.

An intriguing perfume, with watermelon and citrus notes backed by leather. Lemon and leather go so beautifully together that to me they're one of the great pairings in perfumery (think of Versace L'Homme, Eau Sauvage Cuir Fraiche, Imaginary Authors The Cobra and the Canary, etc.), and bergamot of course goes with just about anything. The watermelon in here seems more dominant than either of these citrus notes, however, and it's surprising to me that the former goes fairly well with leather... (although maybe the lemon and bergamot help that along). This projects okay, but not as dramatically as other MDCI fragrances for men, and the longevity is also on the weaker side, so I'm not sure if this would be full bottle worthy for me given the price. But it's a very nice fresh fragrance.

Lovely scent profile... soft woody and leather notes, led by a fruity melon accord. I havent smelled Aventus in a while but this feels very familiar. Overall, its a beautiful scent, very airy and uplifting. However, my biggest gripe with MDCI so far is the performance. I'm generally okay with 3-4 hours longevity, but this lasts an hour top. Yes it lingers on your skin for 3-4 hours but you literally have to put your nose to the applied area to detect anything. Edit: just realized what the drydown reminds me of -- LV Symphony. It has that same candied citrus profile, but this one has a leather backbone. Cant believe im saying this but LV is actually more worth it considering the longevity.

Received my bottle today, after all the negativity it's received I was hoping to go against the grain. Alas it's all true, it opens nicely and comparisons to aventus are fair. As it dries down it reminded me of elysium. It's pleasant and smells balanced but it's nothing new and at it's price point it certainly doesn't justify it. Performance is woeful sitting close to the skin. I cannot understand how a respected company can release a fragrance with such bad performance and an uninspiring smell and essentially be proud??! Companies take note, your killing the game and not in a good way

The opening will undoubtedly remind you of Aventus as others have noted, but I much prefer the dry down in this one. I mostly get tropical fruits+musk, and it works really well. While it’s nothing groundbreaking, it’s an easy wear and very pleasurable experience. The price tag is definitely steep for this genre, but if you can afford it, it’s a nice high quality alternative to the aventus/elysium/cedrat Boise types

No 🍉. Just straight bergamot. Not gourmand/ smoky enough for Imperium (vanilla & guiac). This is a Lite modern day Aventus/ cologne + the tart current bud from Elysium. Suede is extremely faint. Opening hour has a synthetic twang similar to what’s found in Explorer & CDNM (guessing it’s the bergamont/ lemon combo). Dry down after 2hrs is very pleasant as the sharpness & tartness softens. More depth also

Aventus type vibes but with a watermelon opening. It's very smooth. The drydown goes to this slight powdery vaniilic musk but a very clean musk . I really enjoyed the sample and would purchase this over Aventus and it is actually cheaper than Aventus. Very Smooth and a fan of Cecile Zarokians work.

A slightly aventus-inspired fragrance, but definitely does its own thing...melon, suede, jasmine, and green notes is what I get...basically a funky melon suede leather...pretty nice, but doesn’t last very long

In my opinion, Bleu Satin doesn't last very long on my skin and smells close to Electimuss Imperium.

Easy on those blind buys, fellas--the next Aventus this is not. I got my bottle in two days ago and have been able to wear it twice so far. It is surprisingly weak, tepid juice; a fruity concoction lead by watermelon that opens with a brief, juicy flash and then all but disappears in a matter of 10 minutes. The fruity accord which drives Bleu Satin (it's not "Blue" Satin) feels thin and shallow. The fragrance itself basically just consists of this accord and something that's supposed to approximate soft leather in the base, so overall it's a very simple and thin/weak fragrance which has almost zero complexity or depth. It doesn't project at all. I need to put my nose an inch up to my skin to smell anything 10 minutes after applying 5 sprays to my arm. I'm not joking, not exaggerating or using hyperbole...it is THAT weak. Let's put it this way: I put on 10 sprays 10 minutes ago and my wife cannot smell it on me. I asked her how she liked it and she said, "What? I don't smell anything. I smell coffee." ( I had made a pot of coffee earlier.) Anyway, my only hope is that I'm experiencing a severe case of "new bottle syndrome." I've noticed that a lot of times a fragrance will smell very weak when I spray it out of a brand new sealed bottle for the first couple of weeks. Then after a few weeks the juice really opens up and becomes stronger. I sincerely hope that's the case here because I really wanted to like this fragrance. I was very excited about it when I saw the note pyramid and realized it was being produced by Parfums MDCI, a house which traditionally is very good. I would love to be proven wrong and have to come back and eat my words, but I'm pessimistic about the possibility. Bleu Satin is just so weak and unimpressive it's hard to believe my bottle is capable of making some kind of drastic improvement over the next several weeks. Side Note: The only way I'm sort of enjoying this is buy pulling my undershirt up to my nose and smelling the fabric which I doused heavily in the scent. When I do that, it smells nice, but it involves shoving my shirt into my nose, having sprayed it about 6 times...and it's still a very light smell. EDIT/FINAL NOTE: This was NOT a case of new bottle syndrome. It is a weak, poorly performing, FLAT, and uninteresting fragrance. My "new" bottle quickly became "no bottle" as I sold this one off immediately after my fourth full wearing of the fragrance and realizing that nothing at all had changed. The only satisfaction I'm gettin from Bleu Satin is watching its little Fragrantica score plummet as more real reviews come in from people who have actually tried it. *one other thing: it is not remotely comparable to Aventus, unless you think anything with fruit is automatically similar to Aventus. The two smell nothing at all alike.

چهارمین و آخرین دکنتی که از سری نقاشی های ام دی سی آی رو تست میکنم . بلو ساتین ثابت کرد کانسپت ساخت عطرهای این لاین بر مبنای نقاشی های دو قرن گذشته مزخرفی بیش نیست . نه این عطر بنظرم کانسپت ساخت همه عطرها ی دروغ عوام فریبانست . بعد از هربار تست این عطر با خودم گفتم چرا باید ی مارک معروف و محبوب و ی پرفیومر نامدار بیان عطری رو به بازار بدند که تماما کپیه . این موضوع کپی بودن روایح جدیدا خیلی داره تو مارکهای تاپ زیاد میشه جوری که حتی نمیشه گفت اقتباس شده واضحا الگو برداری و کپی رایحه داره ترویج پیدا می‌کنه . بلو ساتین صفرتا صدش اونتوس رو یاد آوری می‌کنه عطری تو کلاس بویایی اروماتیک سبز با کمی حس شیپغ . شروعی سیتروسی ( بن بن طور ) همراه با اوکموس . حسی خنک دوستداشتنی و بینهایت عامه پسند . تو قلب عطر حس گزنده و سبز گزنه و پوست مرکبات نمود بیشتری پیدا می‌کنه من راستش کمی ازش حالت دارویی مثل بوی شربت اکسپکتورانت هم میگیرم . هر چی به سمت درای داون پیش می‌ره کمی حس شیرین بودن پیدا می‌کنه . خبری از حس چوبی و چرمی هم نیست . حداقل با استانداردهای این برند نیست . بنظرم بلو ساتین بطور کلی چیزی رو ارائه میده که تمام عطرهای کپی و خطی اونتوس از خودشون نمایش میدند . ( شما فکر کن داری عطر ماین رو تست می‌کنی ) . نه خبری از فضای اسموکی اونتوس هست نه اون درای داون زیبای خزه ای موسکی تنها نکته ای که شاید بشه مثبت دونست در مورد این عطر حفظ فضای شاداب و پر طراوت استارت اونتوس هست که تو بلو ساتین تا اخر همینطور طی میشه . کیفییت عطر واقعا قابل قبوله پرفورمنس مطلوبی داره ماندگاریش از ۴-۵ ساعت روی پوست تجاوز نمیکنه . با همه این حرفا بنظرم بلو ساتین با این قیمت ابدا ارزش خرید نداره . مگر اینکه ... .

As another time of testing it today... This is another Aventus.. Another Dior Savage, & another Chanel Blue.. Metallic, citrucy, & aquatic. Nothing new rather than a repetitive blend. Edit (15 mins in) I can't deny that when it dried down it became kind of acceptable! i keep on sniffing something much better than the ones i mentioned above! i started to sniff cassis, some green notes (mild mint), and woody musk. The cassis, mint, cannabis, and some herbal note formed something quite interesting for such blend that has that top note! I know it's not a good thing to judge a blend from it's top note but still the top note wasn't promising as it is the cooldown. The only drawback is that the price is too high for such blend, it's fairly cute but still doesn't worth the price tag i'm sorry.

This smelt... not unpleasant. i adore watermelon as a fruit, a flavor, a scent, etc. - so it's nice to have something smell like it, but that's pretty much the only thing i liked about this fragrance. it feels too watery/airy, no statement, no presence etc. the leather is a fine base, but the citruses are so non-existent for me. the pink watermelon turns into a pink powdery in the dry-down... it's missing something - i wish i knew what. I didn't like Aventus either, so i guess it works out.

absurd release. I'm not against doing the Aventus theme but this is a poor effort and the quality of Aventus even in 2018 is far better than MDCI. Parfums Vintage Emperor Extrait is a better release than this as it's as good as the 2011 - 2013 batches of Aventus. MDCI must be relying on the fans of the house to sell this one. Very underwhelming release.

Is it beautiful? Yes. But let’s speak with complete honesty and transparency. It resembles Aventus, so how could it not be beautiful? When it comes from a refined brand like MDCI, and when a master perfumer such as Cécile Zarokian presents a twisted take on Aventus, the matter naturally raises questions. You might say: it doesn’t replicate Aventus exactly! Yes, that’s true—there are clones, and there are twists created by master perfumers. So the real questions are: Did this fragrance add anything new to the world of perfumery? No. Will it add anything new for me personally? I am sorry but No. Picasso would never present a twist on the Mona Lisa. So why does perfumery do that? Regards,

Hmmm, there could be a market for this. Aventus comparisons are VERY fair in the opening but then I get a very leather-heavy fruity scent. A lot more leather than Aventus. If you replace the pineapple for a weak watermelon/citrus note and amp up the leather accord from aventus then you get this. Performance is not great but not as bad as some people have made out. It’s like a weak EDT but at that price is very concerning. 5/10

Musky Watermelon Aventus. Smoother in the drydown than Aventus. Nothing really pops, but I'd say it's easier to wear than Aventus. The musk in the drydown is smooth. Projection is moderate. I do like this. It does have a refreshing, smooth citrus component that comes across very "suede" like. Hence Bleu Satin I suppose. My only issue is that it does come across quite muted. For me the scent fades down fairly intensely after about an hour. For the cost I just need more than that. Very fine fragrance though. Very elegant and airy for a warm weather scent.

I think this smells amazing but the performance is unacceptable. And this is coming from someone who generally enjoys lighter scents. It would probably be one of my favourite fragrances of all time otherwise, it's pretty much Aventus sans pineapple with a beautiful dark, fruity watermelon note. So good!

Lovely, light, crisp citrus aromatic. Nice sillage. Lasted several hours. I quite liked it. One hundred % Aventus's up and coming much more nimble protege. If you like that but feel it is a bit heavy handed this will fit your bill. Probably don't need both though.

There's been enough said about this fragrance, but I'll add that it's one of the best Aventus DNA's available. I would choose this over Aventus any day.

This is pretty much the same as elictimuss imperium which I own. Not very strong though compared to imperium

Strong nice masculine scent . Citrus with hint of leather and soft sweetness .

Electimus Imperium but not as strong. Smells nice but I’d go with Imperium
