L'Elegant

I immediately think of syrup -- not of the sweetness, but the *consistency* of syrup. Spooning and squeezing it. Natural, photorealistic honey with nutmeg and black pepper = unsweet maple syrup. Really elegant. You won't smell this one on yourself so much, but others will (based on compliments I've received after forgetting I sprayed it). More youthful than the rest of MDCI's masculine catalogue. Young, arrogant dandy... light on his feet.

Update a few months in: what a perfect scent for the Fall! Such smooth cardamom, sandalwood, cinnamon melange. what a beauty! another masterpiece from MDCI! I tried one sample, then two and then realized i couldn t help smelling it so i got a bottle and been wearing it nonstop for a few days. Rich, high quality, smooth, a tad sweet. Probably better for the Fall and Winter.

Warm, spicy incense and oud, with a little sweetness coming from the honey. I'm smitten. This is completely unisex. Longevity is only moderate on me, which is not what I expected given the notes.

Greatfruit described it well. syrupy honey, but barely sweet at all, all the sweet notes are replaced with dry spicy, powdery incense -- very memorable. performance is better on fabric.

Extremely underrated complex and relaxing fragrance with mild oud. Reminds me of Nawab of Oudh Intensivo without the sharp acidic dry down. Grows more beautiful as it dries down.

Twenty years ago, I smelled a primitive version of this amber/oud/vetiver/musk accord in a tall brown bottle advertised by a rather hairy man. The MDCI is made of nicer materials, has good fine detail in between the warm and cool spices (spray on fabric to appreciate best), and is actually cheaper than buying that vintage perfume. Quelle surprise!

I am a big fan of MDCI but I can see why this one is sort of the redheaded step child of the house. It's sort of discombobulated. The notes are many and I get most of them. Some work together and others not so much. I think maybe the davana which here smells a little like licorice, clashes with the honey and maybe the incense. It's hard to explain, but it is unique at least. The drydown calms things a bit a bit as certain notes burn out and it becomes more tranquil. Doesn't remind me of prada l'homme l'eau much, and not really of HDP 1828 which I've worn for years. Strange cacophony fragrance that has some bright spots, but ultimately leaves me scratching my head. It's not bad per se, and I'll keep testing my decant, but it feels like it lacks direction and identity. This is only my second impression, so take it with a pinch of salt. -----------‐----------------------‐-------------- Scent 50/100

Nice, incense and oud heavy scent with a dusty sandalwood undertone. I don't pick up on the orris unfortunately, I was hoping to see it shine more - but it is a very subtle note so I can see how it was crowded out. I would say this is definitely unisex. I tried it and was surprised to find it is marketed to men. The dry down is quite fruity which is a bit disappointing for me.

This is classy and all that, but for the notes that are in this, it seems to me it should be much more interesting than it is... It is fine, pleasant. But, for a scent with lots of nice cardomom, wood and other spices, my money is ALWAYS on Costume National Homme.

الگانت آخرین عطر لانچ شده توسط ام دی سی آی . در قالبی پر رنگ از آکورد چوبی و اسپایسی ارینتال هست . در وحله اول چیزی که با تست عطر القا میشه . کیفییت فوق العاده بالاست . شروعی زیبا و پرمایه از آکورد اسپایسی با غلبه نت هل و صندل وود . شروع عطر جذابه . مردونه و محکم . و بشدت بوزی . تو قلب عطر چیزی که قدرت مطلق رایحه رو بدست میگیره سندل ووده . اونچه که من دستم اومد بعد از چند بار تست . اینه که الگانت تغییر مود رایحه نداره یعنی همین فضای اسپایسی بخوری و شرقی از شروع تا پایان هست . سرتاسر عمر بوی عطر واضحا بوزی زیبایی هست . تو درای داون حس بخوری بیشتر میشه ولی همچنان آکورد اسپایسی و حس بوزی سرجاشه من احساس میکنم تو ترکیبات این عطر پچولی هم هست که عنوان نشده . کیفییت عطر واقعا بالاست . رایحه بسیار زیبا و مردونه بدون افت و تغییر از شروع تا پایان پیش می‌ره. ی چیزی که تو این عطر خیلی دل انگیزه حس بوزی تر و تمیز و مداوم هست تقریبا یونیکه با اینکه خیلی واووو نیست فضای کلی ولی از نظر شباهت کلی بسیار بسیار به کاستوم نشنال اوم نزدیکه بخاطر آکورد اسپایسی و سندل وود . پخش بوی عالی و ماندگاری بالای ۱۲ ساعت

Sandalwood, warm spices and orris blended perfectly into a wonderful scent. For me, there’s just not enough funk in the mix – it’s entirely pleasant and enjoyable. A little TOO pleasant, if you know what I mean, It needed a bit more base in the mix, amp up the labdanum, maybe dial up the resins, make this a little more funky than it is. It’s safe, but wonderful. Don’t take what I believe for granted; my nose is weird and I am even moreso. This is good stuff, I can’t deny, but just not what I was looking for...

Despite the wonderful selection of notes listed I don't get a lot out of this one. There's a nice saffron incense quality but then the oud comes through on me and it's not far removed from other cheaper barnyardy ouds I've come across. If you're looking for an incense oud then give this a try as it could be wonderful but I can't tell.

V.nice . Smooth blend of Spices and oud ,, not sure if im getting any honey , but there's a definite sweetness to it .
