Vétyver Messager

Unique! However, because I’ve smelled a lot of fragrances.... It does smell like Lost in Paris by Roja. Which is also a unique fragrance. Lost in Paris leans more gourmand. Where as vetyver Messager leans more everyday.

This is a stunna 🔥 Not the loudest but smells fantastic. Pleasant surprise.

This is interesting and not what I expected. The opening there is a nutty vetiver with a sweet, creamy backbone. As the vetiver, the sweetness becomes more pronounced in the first 20 minutes and over takes the scent. That creamy sweetness is reminiscent of Zoologist Rabbit. The carrot and iris give it a powdery cleanliness mixing with the fluffy sweet base. The vetiver at this point is just a whisper of what it was in the opening. It’s unisex and not the strongest offering from the house (which I love).

Vétyver Messager is a decent fragrance in its own right, but completely useless in terms of vetiver. There’s hardly any of it here. The scent smells like berry cookies - light, sweetened, and cozy. From the opening, you catch a berry note that gradually warms up thanks to the fragrant, resinous, ambery benzoin. The vetiver is technically present, but only to provide a touch of freshness. None of its other facets - smokiness, nuttiness, earthiness, or that forest-like character are noticeable. It’s a pleasant fragrance: the ambroxan doesn’t stick out with synthetic harshness. The fragrance smells natural, airy, soft, with a sweet berry-woody profile and a rounded biscuit note in the base. It’s very far from true vetiver fragrances like Vétiver by Guerlain, Encre Noire by Lalique, Grey Vetiver by Tom Ford, and many others. It doesn’t resemble any of them. Not bad, but not what you expect from a fragrance with vetiver in its name.

This smells like a sweet gourmand. I get no vetiver. Maybe just me but this smells like the cotton candy sweet aroma chemicals used in BR540 or similar generic scents marketed to young females. Not my thing.

Vétyver Messager MDCI Parfums (Sniff test, SKONX) I wanna scream "ELEMENTS!" when I sniff this. Damn, this is most top list Vetyver I have sniff so far. It ain't really Vetyver either, but very Vetyver. let me explain. Key of Vetyver Messager, is how to show all the most prominent legs. Vetyver naturally have many aspects from Green, Nutty, Smoky, Woody, Earthy. From Ancient time, Interpretation is always being one way or another, never all. So mostly Vetyver fragrance are being made in a specific execution. Vetyver also a "base" style note - it hug anything as good as patchouli. So it has tendency to be buried under a lot of materials, easily. Vetyver Messager - shows the all aspect vetiver. Prominently, show the legs connected to each other simultaneously. Almost like how Vetyver root behave. It's fruity yet fougere yet woody yet smoky Yet sweet and yet Green. Damn! How she do it?!? So Good. How can she do "Everything, anything at one"? and with that level of Mastering "impact!" ==== There's a sub-culture in LGBT community. It calls "Ballroom Culture". And one part of it is call "Vogue Femme". The performer, must include 5 elements of move. (Floor, Hand, Duck Walk, Cat Walk, Spin and Dip). The performance is judged on completing a set of essential elements within 1 -2 minutes. Miss one, and you're cut—no matter how strong the rest of the performance is. ==== Oh god. well, This SERVE all elements. I think if Imma grab a modern vetiver. I would grab this. So good, very well done perfume.

If you're looking for vetiver you're not going to find too much here. In an interview Claude mentions that he actually hates vetiver, so this was his interpretation of a vetiver fragrance. It's more of a clean powdery sweet and slightly spicy scent. I share Claude's distaste for vetiver so I thoroughly enjoyed this take on it.
