Hot Girl Summer

Wow! I tried this on in an Ulta not expecting anything, having heard a lot about poor projection. I was extremely pleasantly surprised: to my untrained nose, the opening orchid note is very strong and almost fruity, in a wonderful, sweet-yet-adult way. It feels fun and sexy and poppy, but not in the way a Sabrina Carpenter or Britney Spears perfume might smell—more "hot girl at the pool" than "sweet girl lounging in her bedroom." I might be in the minority here, but I didn't mind when it dried down to a more intimate scent, either. It became *very* sugary, but only in the most pleasant way, and again it felt unique and distinct from my cabinetful of sweet gourmands. I love how it transforms over time, and a full four hours after that initial spray (on the wrists, then touched to the neck) I was still getting reminded of it when breezes passed by. Maybe I'm just sensitive, but it definitely satisfied me all four hours I had it on, and I think four hours for a daytime perfume you're wearing in the summer—when you will be sweating and swimming anyway—is more than reasonable. I will absolutely be at the very least testing this again, and hopefully getting myself a bottle! I hope this is just the beginning of Meg's perfume career. P.S. Mind you I fell asleep without showering, woke up the next day, walked in front of a fan, and got another whiff after I'd totally forgotten everything about this beautiful perfume. Magic!

For me this starts as a sweetened floral with a touch of powder to soften the edges. In that way it reminds a lot of Ginza by Shiseido. However it also has some tropical touches. Not fully the coconut listed but definitely tropical and also a bit solar. At this point it's a lighter fragrance overall. Not a skin scent but not a beast by any means (which I enjoy). A few hours into the wear it really starts to change. Which I love as so many modern fragrances are often linear. Here the coconut really starts to come out but its rooted in the florals. So it's not gourmand or suntan lotion. Just a creamy coconut mixing with sweet flowers. I find by this point the projection has actually increased. Still not overpowered but definitely more noticeable to my nose. Something about this point also reminds me of the finish of Kayali’s Fleur Majesty Rose Royale. Something in that creamy sweetness. Overall this is a really nice fragrance. Never too strong nor too subdued. Never too sweet. But also not necessarily mind blowing. Yet for the price compared go things that smell similarly it's a great steal and is happily not another gourmand bomb. It's got enough familiarity to be easily wearable but you won't smell exactly like every person either.

First Impression: This is like Milk Orchid’s hotter sister. Definitely not complex or challenging, it almost reminds me of a body spray you could have bought in Victoria’s Secret in 2008. I am personally nostalgic for those kinds of scents, so I like it. I really enjoy the creamy coconut, but you don’t get much vetiver at all. EDIT: My only complaint is the longevity. With no skin prep this lasted around 3 hours. Personally I don’t mind reapplying because I can just keep the travel size in my purse, but if you’re the kind of person who needs a one and done it doesn’t take long to fade into an intimate sillage. Since it’s affordable to begin with I’m more lenient on it than designer or niche wear times .

This is gorgeous! After hearing mixed reviews, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I love this. It’s not a sunscreen summer scent, but a warm, musky, very slightly spicy and sweet scent. I can’t stop smelling my wrist after spraying this. It’s definitely light which makes it perfect for summer, but it does last longer and smell stronger on clothing. I can see this being an easy reach any day or any time fragrance for a lot of people.

I actually love this scent, it’s a beautiful scent however I already own this scent. This is similar if not identical to 💍 Vera Wangs “Love”... I kid you not, I sprayed them both on my wrists and can’t tell which one is which. So as much as I do love this bottle, I do love the Vera Wang 💍 ever more and the Vera has more depth in her dry down. No need keeping two of the same fragrances.

How scary that this is being compared to milk orchid, that's one on the worst fragrances I ever smelled, and I just bought this last night too.I hope it doesn't smell like it Edit after shipment: crisis averted ,I love this it smells nothing like the awful milk orchid 😂 I'm getting Barbie vibes from it 🩷

Oh she’s a baddie for sure 🔥.. as soon as you spray it’s juicy then dries down to this soft coconut tropical orchid... Makes me think of Hawaii 🌺... I love the bottle and the fragrance! I’m happy with this blind buy✨

It’s a super pretty creamy woody scent however it is super light and after about 10 minutes I can’t really smell it. 7.5/10. If it lasted longer I would probably give it a 9/10.

Sweet coconut milk wrapped in summer heat and a papery orchid. It was love at first sniff for me. It's pretty straightforward but that's what I really like about it.

i usually prefer more "male" leaning scents but i really like this one. love the coconut milk note

One thing about me is that I am addicted to celebrity fragrances, and I love Meg, so I got this on a whim as a blind buy. First I’ll agree with what everyone says: the bottle is beautiful and unique. I expected it to be difficult to spray but it fits nice in the hand. I love how it looks displayed with my other scents. As to the smell. I was hoping for a summery, super coconut fragrance. Not sunscreen-y but sweet. I was ready for the gourmand/floral combo. at first spray you definitely get the coconut and the creaminess, but as soon as it dries down it’s just a really sweet floral. I’m not mad at it by any means, it’s just not as punchy and tropical as I hoped it would be, especially because it’s THEE summer girl’s fragrance! With that being said I still really like it and I’ll incorporate it into my rotation.

I like it but as someone mentioned earlier, this is reminiscent of something I already have in my collection, as someone who has a vast collection. I definitely get the Milk Orchid comparison, it’s a bit more verdant in the dry down. . It definitely has mass appeal, but that’s good for every day consumers where perfume collecting isn’t a niche interest. I wasn’t expecting some mind blowing never explored dna because it’s a Coty fragrance , and I was expecting it to be what it is: something pleasing to the nose, safe, and adjacent to what you can usually find in Sephora or Ulta. I really like the creaminess of the coconut without it being gourmand or really heavy. All in all, I’d say this is a really nice fragrance for Megan’s first foray into this market.

honestly i was surprised by this. i totally expected it to be like a super fruity coconut scent (maybe it was just the summer vibe that made me think that lol) but it’s very soft. upon first spray it’s an earthy floral that’s a little juicy but then dries down to a soft powdery coconut milk. very fem, very creamy. it’s really good if you love coconut but don’t want anything too overpowering, sweet or synthetic. i really like it but i do agree that it kind of reminds me of a few fragrances that already exist

Inoffensive but unremarkable. Layers well with vanilla based scents, and I’m enjoying the kick of vetiver during the dry down. I expected a fruity+spicy moment for Meg’s first signature scent; unfortunately, HGS was a let down. This is Cute Girl Spring...there’s a miscommunication between the implication of the bottle, the scent’s name, and the actual final product. Enjoyable, nonetheless! Not a safe blind buy.

It reminds me of the fragrances I liked from Bath and Body Works when I was a teenager. The ones with twilight, dark, amethyst, or like orchid in the name and purpley bottles. For girls in me and Meg’s age group those were the sexy and grown scents so I see why they’ve gone with that kind of DNA for HGS. Ultimately it’s fruity-floral and sweet, I kind of want it for nostalgia and easy wear purposes.

i really like this scent! it doesn't give childish at all to me, which alot of celebrity fragrances do. this fragrance lasts about two hours on my skin, and longer on clothes and projects about the same as the rest of mine. it doesn't really give me summer though, the coconut is way less pronounces than everyone else is saying. i love megan and i like this scent!

Lovely! The first orchid-heavy scent I've ever liked. A soft and warm, fruity floral that's just, like. Pretty. A crowd pleaser (in a positive way)! It's more orchid than any else, but vetiver makes a soft bed for it to lie on, on the dry down. The coconut milk isn't overwhelming, either, more of a creamy-sweet support to the orchid.

Not bad, but kinda boring. Getting slight Alien Goddess vibes from this maybe? Will probably be a good layering scent but very boring by itself. Love Meg but there are so many fragrances with this DNA that do it much better and you probably already have them in your collection.

This smells nice. It's reminiscent of that Hawaiian Silky oil sheen from back in the 90s (IYKYK), but without the unpleasant alcohol after-smell.

Nothing to write home about. I’m not getting notes of vanilla but it does open with a lovely coconut. it’s more fruity and plasticy than anything and smells like a younger, more lively version of La Vie Est Belle. It’s a teenie bopper scent for sure. Edited: figured out why it was plasticky and it’s the “accords”. They weren’t well engineered so it gives celebrity fragrance and I’m growing to like that aspect. I thought with my mature nose there’s no way that a celebrity fragrance would even catch my attention but it does. It also brings back memories of the early 2010s and every house was dropping floral gourmands like the new Black Opium, Flowerbomb, La Vie Est Belle.

Sadly returned her. Its not bad , it smells nice in a general way but not nice enough for me to be impressed or obsessed or Wowed. I returned this for the New ARI Cloud A ..which is yummy. This gives tropical but on the skin it morphs into a mature floral in the coconutty white flower spiced category but gives a cute lil lady that's age 82 at Sunday church , that gives the youth at choir candy. And it doesn't last ...maybe 1 hour. I feel she should of created A summery hot girl version and a Dark hot girl summer night version, that you can MIX together....especially coming out for the first time with a fragrance ...come out with 2 bangs! Its missing something.

I don't know what I was expecting but this isn't it. Maybe something a little spicier from Megan, especially looking at the bottle and the name being "Hot Girl Summer". I love a nice dry coconut scent, not sunscreen-y, and there is a coconut scent but it is faint. I don't think it is sunscreen-y and after about 4 hours the coconut is close to the skin. But the journey to get to the drydown is painful. After the initial spray there is a sharp astringent smell that stays for a while. The floral is nice but unremarkable, nothing you can particularly pick out. The overall fragrance journey isn't smooth but waivers between creamy, floral and screechy.

This is when you know that influencers really do influence people. I truly was so excited to get this fragrance given the predominant reaction online I think I was actually in shock because I don’t get anything in the opening and I sprayed quite a bit before I could even get a whiff of coconut the only saving Grace is that this is a beautiful bottle.

I was expecting something warm and spicy but this is a very common DNA where nothing stands out about it other than the bottle design. To me it smells like an in between of Alien Goddess and Angham by Lattafa. Mature sweet floral vanilla with woody aspects, okay for summer but better for early fall.

There are 100 perfumes with this DNA that preform so much better. Love the bottle!

I’m so sorry and don’t yell at me, but what is this? The bottle (while REALLY COOL) is so awkward to store because you’re essentially storing the thing upside down, and it smells just so....whatever. I got some sweet, white floral notes with a poorly blended wood musk scent. It’s like someone described several more successful fragrances and had a perfumer do their best to replicate it- it’s just....I’m trying to think of a word other than boring. I was expecting a much bigger, louder scent based on Megan Thee Stallion’s name and the crazy bottle. But it’s not. It’s oddly polite and mindful.

I am so sad to say I didn’t like this. The notes had such promise but like someone else here said, all I smell is GARDENIA. It is so overwhelming. I am bummed because Meg is one of my favorite artists.

Weak performance. I was expecting a summery scent, but this has a dirty tone I can't quite place that is definitely not summer reminiscent at all. Bottle is beautiful and I like the popculture play there, only good thing going for this stinker.

I’ve had this for about a week and at first I was a little confused but now I’ve actually grown to like this fragrance a lot. It’s a FLORAL fragrance. It’s not a coconut or much of a tropical fragrance. The coconut milk is there to enhance the orchids or maybe give the allure of sweetness. I know people were probably expecting a loud, sweet, center of attention, strip club type of scent. But It’s more of an intimate, refined, and classy fragrance. Every time I get a sudden whiff of this fragrance out of nowhere it smells so delicious! Lightly sweet and charming in a way a shortbread cookie is. I could imagine meeting Megan up close and she smelled like this. I don’t think everyone is going to love this but I think it will find its own cult following of people who swear by it.

Oooh boy, I feel like I'm coming in with a conspiracy theory here. Sprayed in store and was like, I definitely know this. Also was very surprised by the DNA because it does not remotely match the marketing/bottle. BUT. It gives DKNY Pure vibes. I only have Pure Drop of Vanilla at home, so I have them both on skin right now and my version is a liiiiittle different, for obvious reasons. But I also would have bet sandalwood was in this one from first sniff, as that's a note that my skin/nose highlights immediately most of the time. Powdery, skin-scent feeling, soft. Definitely the same vibe as the Pure line, which is really hard to find nowadays so if you love it, maybe this is your chance to get it.

Effortless creamy sensual coconut scent that’s well blended! It does smell familiar to something else I’ve smelled so I can’t say this is a completely unique scent profile but I’m not mad at it. I hate the bottle though, what in the plug in nightlight astroglide bottle is going on? Edit: why do I feel like the familiar scent profile I’m thinking of is Libre by YSL. This is not a dupe but there’s something about this that gives Libre lowkey. Like if Libre had a fun not so serious sister, where Libre is the more serious uptight sister.

Megan should have insisted on having a named nose for her perfume, instead of selling her name to Coty. If I were Meg, I'd have a meeting with Nathalie Gracia-Cetto or Rodrigo Flores-Roux and asked them to create a powerhouse hybrid of Soleil Blanc and Champaca Absolute, then she'd have one of the most sort after and wanted perfumes IN THE WORLD. Instead, Coty have given her a bottle that Le Feu d'Issey would be proud of... and a juice that falls short from amazing.... just generic.

This smells like Mugler Alien on my skin, but specifically how Alien smelled on my first manager. OG Alien smells a little sparkling on my skin, but this is that same full bodied jasmine with a lot of creaminess from a cashmeran note. Slightly indolic, but still lovely. I’ve never owned Alien Goddess Intense, but the coconut note in this is present so I will agree with the Alien Goddess Intense comparisons.

This god awful sorry excuse for a perfume is repugnant. It smells like the leftover semen from Tory lanez, Pardi, DaBaby, Moneybagg Yo, and others who have been inside her. This is the poor man version of Minajesty. Everything Megan touches becomes a complete flop. Her true destiny is to be a stripper because her only talent is twerking and being half naked.

I love this, but to me this ain’t giving coconut. It does have a slight creamy aspect in the dry down that could be coconut, but to me this is a GARDENIA bomb! I’m surprised nobody has mentioned the gardenia note that I’m sure is hidden in here. To me this is a slightly sweeter/creamier version of Chanel’s gardeina or Elizabeth Taylor’s gardenia

This is a sweeter version of Kayali Musk Santal | 34. The vetiver is strong in this (to my nose and I love it). I get a “koolaid” smell in the very beginning, so I get the Beyoncé Heat comparison. It’s nice but not what I expected a Hot Girl Summer fragrance to be.

An hour after spraying, I have to dig my nose into my arm to smell it. Reminds me of pink lemonade and sunshine, very simple. Was really surprised to see what the actual notes are. Would not spend money on a perfume that's so weak, unfortunately.

this one was the biggest fragrance letdown in a while for me. Meg is so cool, the bottle design is so eye-catching and unique, the campaign is fiery and fun, and yet the juice smells like... white floral boredom. it’s such an odd mismatch to me.

I grabbed this today on a whim, and I actually really like it. Its nothing revolutionary or niche, but it's a fun basic summer perfume. The bottle is quite lovely and even though there's nothing ground breaking here, it a fun summer spritz.

I love meg with my whole heart but this is such an underwhelming perfume. I was so excited for the coconut milk note, but it just ended up smelling like wig spray.

This is an obvious cash grab. The scent has no character, low sillage, zero projection in the heat and lasts for about 30 mins-2 hours.
