Zaref Atool by Méjana Fragrances After a long day spent out on the beach all I wanted was something clean fresh and light to slip on straight after my shower. A silly little mix up where descriptions sat next to the wrong bottles in my discovery set led me to pick this one by accident and honestly it turns out this is easily the best mistake I have ever made and quite possibly my finest fragrance find yet. It certainly caught me off guard at first but once that initial surprise faded I was left absolutely blown away standing there in total awe. This is without doubt the most stunningly crafted masculine scent I have ever encountered. If you want it put simply imagine Sauvage Elixir but reimagined far smoother richer and steeped in genuine authentic Middle Eastern soul. It is softer around the edges yet every single layer feels amplified deeper sweeter spiced up perfectly and just altogether superior in every way imaginable. It goes the distance too performing with serious power and staying put beautifully for hours on end though it is the glorious dry down that completely stole my heart and knocked me sideways. It wraps you in an indescribable gentle sweetness that floats and flutters beautifully right alongside bold timeless character and pure magic this is masculine DNA refined elevated and perfected in liquid form. Created by perfumer Qassem Abu Khalaf and launched in 2023 this extrait de parfum stands as a powerful tribute to freedom dignity and deep Palestinian heritage drawing inspiration from the beloved folkloric hero it is named after. It opens bright and lively with bergamot sharp ginger and warm cloves before settling into a luxurious heart of golden saffron soothing lavender and soft rose. Finally it settles deep into rich agarwood oud textured cashmeran sturdy oak and sweet vanilla delivering that signature dry woody richness softened by just enough honeyed warmth. Méjana Fragrances has crafted something truly meaningful here a masterpiece that honours its roots while delivering absolute world class quality. Have not smelled anything like this before.. Dry sharp spicy woody perfume with a soft metallic nature - no sweetness here. Ginger and saffron take center stage, rose and clove in a supporting act. The idea behind this creation is to encapsulate the smell of historic old town of Jerusalem’s streets with all its vibe and culture. I can’t comment on the accuracy of this reference since I have never been there, but I can say that this perfume has a pure oriental soul. It does somehow smell ancient. It takes me through a passage of time - to a magical bygone time that I can’t pinpoint. Perhaps the marketing behind it lured me into this way of thinking but nevertheless it is spot on in being a nostalgic scent. Something smells familiar, it tickles your senses, can’t stop imagining myself walking in an Arabic spice market from 1000 years ago. That does not mean it is outdated; it is a beautiful scent for a young guy especially in springtime – there is a slightly aromatic lavendery side to it. Expected the perfume to be darker and deeper especially with the oud note in the composition, but I do not get any oud in it myself. All in all, I am very happy with my purchase, it is a unique scent for sure.

Zaref Atool is a powerhouse. My personal favourite from the brand and I own all of their fragrances. As a Woody Spicy fragrance, it captures a level of strength and elegance that is rare to find. Qassem Abu Khalaf has truly outdone himself with this 2023 release—it is a staple of the collection. Once again, I have to say: don't listen to the negative, fake reviews. It’s pathetic how these envious "izzis" spend their time trying to pull down a brand as authentic as Méjana. They just vite trash they don't comment because giving your name and face needs courage which they definitely don't have. The scent itself is a masterpiece. The opening of Ginger and Cloves gives it a defiant, spicy kick, which transitions beautifully into a heart of Saffron and Rose. But it’s the base of Agarwood (Oud) and Oak that really anchors it. It feels ancient yet modern. I'll always repurchase this one ❤️

A beautiful and intriguing masculine scent, without being loud or metallic. Oak, oud and cashmeran together remind me a bit of an excellent cedar (the oud they use is not at all barnyardy); ginger and saffron are used to add to the whole, softly, not sharply; I also pick up cardamom and even a bit of dry cacao. Definitely not floral at all (which I wouldn’t mind, but it’s not a theme here), nor sweet nor gourmand. It creates a unique trail (kind of sensuous, clean, and different from French perfumery); long-lasting in the sense of a skin scent that brings out the best in my own scent. I am happy to have discovered these Palestinian perfumers. Some of the ‘reminds me of’ doesn't make sense at all - completely random.

A real compliment magnet. It works well year-round, but it shines the most during winter. The longevity is impressive. it lasts all day. Easily my favorite scent from this brand.

Looks like multiple people gave all of this brand's fragrances the lowest votes possible. I'd say they are voting with their political feelings and not their nose.

I love it. A bold ''boss-mode'' woody-spicy scent that commands respect.
