Roll-On Perfume No. 13

I was looking for something similar to Vera Wang Princess, and No. 13 is the perfect, arguably better, dupe. I smell a delicious ambery-chocolate with a touch of fruity guava. I don't smell gardenia, but that's ok. There is darker, more obvious chocolate in No. 13 than there is in Princess, and I don't get the powder that I love in Princess. But I love both perfumes.

If you give someone a chocolate chip cookie they will probably ask for a glass of milk. If you give them a glass of milk, they'll ask for come vanilla ice cream to go in it. If they ask for vanilla ice cream, they'll want a little flower in a vase nearby. If that flower opens they'll want a chocolate chip cookie to celebrate it's beauty...etc.,etc....There's my first impressions of this well shaped, natural scent. Strong, delicious, dark chocolate which morphs into warm vanilla pudding with a hint of undecipherable soft floral. Pretty linear after the first chunk of chocolate but not in a boring way. Comforting skin scent. I can't wait for my hubby to come home to get a taste, (gulp,!) I mean smell. Yummy!

Sometimes I jump in without living with the scent. I need to modify my plunge/1st review. The chocolate in this one is noticeable initially, but then really takes a back-step to the vanilla. I still think it's a lovely, sexy but comforting scent. I can see it being appropriate at any event.

I too was looking for a grown-up version of my bottle of Princess from high school, wherein I adored the olfactory image of juicy, powdery chocolate in a tropical marshmallow garden, but the late-00s patchouli drydown being... so-so. I tried a body spray recently, and of course, it does not have the same luster. After years of eyeing this brand and this blend, I finally took the plunge. First off, an incredible product all around, hefty in sillage, big and beautiful on the nose, and true to the 4 notes of its name. I was greeted with a gorgeous sweet brightness from guava on a rounded base of amber and chocolate, the callback to Princess I had long searched for, and the "powder" note reined in and tidied up. But then the gardenia reveals itself ever so sultrily, until it takes center stage and owns it all the way through. At the behest of a more persistent chocolate that could have shared the stage; on me, it is unfortunately not that strong. Somehow that becomes a tiny gripe when considering the meticulousness of this blend, among others by Mélange that I am now confident of their quality. (Denise was lovely to include a sample; No. 8 is her own island goddess, seriously). It's as if I've buried myself in my old gardenia plant with how true the oils are. Lush, classy, and modern. Just works of art! I'm dying to explore more scents.

chocolate and fruity, with a salt note. The chocolate isn't too bitter or heavy and it's not cloying. chocolate sometimes feels cloying or sticky or oppressive to me, and it isn't here. the fruitiness uplifts it but isn't overly juicy. I smell the chocolate more than the fruit, it feels like the fruit is there to round it out. The salt note is really nice and also lightens up the perfume. everything feels like it's in just the right amount. the salt isn't marine like, but it feels like a salty breeze passing by. maybe there is a bit of an atmospheric vibe from some floral notes but I'm not really sure (like a kind of ethereal airiness). I could see myself getting a roller in the future.

I'm dying to try. I love princess by Vera Wang, I want a chocolate similar. Please let me know where I can get this or if anyone has a sample, please!
