Oud

This is a classic rose/oud fragrance that emphasizes the rose. It’s quite sheer and beautifully blended. I’m guessing a taif rose with one of the fruitier ouds. Of course, with rose and oud I always think “does the world really need another rose/oud fragrance?” In this case though, I think the answer is yes. I’ve never smelled anything like this. It’s like a light rose that’s been skillfully shaded at the base to give it a bit of weight. It reminds me a teensy bit of Dusita’s Oud Infini in the way the blending creates this third thing that is neither rose nor oud. But this one is much lighter, a satin slip to the Dusita’s velvet cape. The complete list of notes: Top: orange flower, herbs Mid: rose absolute, Jasmin absolute Base: oud, orris butter, laudanum The complete notes list gives you an idea that there’s a lot more going on here than just oud and rose, but this fragrance hangs together so smoothly and completely, it seemed like a really special rose soliflore with oud in the base. A must try for lovers of rose.

A definate good dose of oud here (meaning the price of this one is much more than the rest), and a little rose and jasmine that start to pop more as time goes on. It comes across as a bit of a leathery oud, certainly a bit of barnyard but not enough to go too far. Not bad this one but you need to like fermented ouds and tbh although a less sophisticated blend than the Meleg, if you get something from Ajmal you can get a fairly similar profile but stronger and cheaper.

It smells like the wrappers of old crayons. It isn't in my opinion, good.
