Wow. As soon as I smelled this, it awakened something in my memory, but I couldn’t pinpoint what, at first. I felt it had something to do with my late grandmother, and I finally pinned it down to these expensive Japanese glycerine soaps that she kept in a box. They had these magenta plastic cases that, to my child’s mind, looked like giant jewels. After some googling, it looks like what I’m remembering is Shiseido Honey Cake?! Unfortunately, the product is discontinued so I can’t buy some to confirm, but I don’t think it’s a coincidence that my specific visual memory matches a product called Honey Cake. Keeping in mind that nostalgia is a powerful force, I find this fragrance to be just gorgeous. It’s an opulent, elegant, sweet honey floral. Several reviewers have mentioned this smelling like “old lady,” and/or like soap, and I have to agree. It literally smells like my grandmother’s soap. It’s feminine and mature. I’m not sure if I want to wear this myself (I’m 43 and it still smells like an “older” woman’s fragrance), but I really really love smelling this.

So, BIG HUGE SURPRISE! I was looking forward to trying this fragrance, given all the hype it receives. I purchased sizable decants of Ilha Do Mel, along with six other Memo-Paris fragrances. To my surprise and from the florals I sampled, Ilha Do Mel turned out to be my favorite fragrance. To my nose, Ilha do Mel shares similarities with Flam and Granada in that the opening is heady and very very floral. However within minutes, Ilha do Mel departs in its own way with the emergence of a sweet, perfectly balanced, expertly blended honey note. The honey note, coupled with juniper and broom notes makes the fragrance smell like wildflowers basking in a sun-soaked field versus a freshly picked bouquet of heady white flowers. Honey is usually NOT one of my favorite perfume notes 'cause it can smell (kinda) urinal, or body-odorish to my nose. But Ilha Do Mel is so well blended, the honey note grounds the florals and pulls the fragrance in a lovely, wearable direction. Longevity is fair at 2-3 hours and silage is minimal. Ilha Do Mel is beautiful, it really is!

I received a tester of this when I purchased the Irish Leather from the Memo boutique. All I can say is, beautiful... This is definitely on my have-to purchase list. After wearing the tester for the past couple of days I can safely confirm that it is the most beautiful floral I have ever came across. To me this perfume is very simple, a beautiful blend between jasmine, rich honey and a hint of orange blossom. That is literally all I smell. It is incredibly feminine, pretty, sweet and flirty. I would say its the perfect spring and summer fragrance. It reminds me of a jasmine honey luxury soap that you would get in expensive hotels. The sillage is so powerful and it stays on me for hours and hours. The whole Memo line has the best lasting power, which is why they are so worth the price. Cannot wait to treat myself to a full sized bottle next spring !

If you have ever driven up to Pico de las Nieves, (one of) the highest point in Gran Canaria, you will know this smell. To me, this perfume comes remarkably close. I have been longing to find something like this for ages, because Spanish broom has such a unique scent, and I love it deeply. And this is it! As you drive up the mountain, the air becomes colder, the broom grows heavier and more honeyed, the road turns dustier, and the Canarian pine trees seem to melt into the air. Somewhere in the distance, there is always the faintest suggestion of sea breeze. This perfume captures so much of that memory. It does not quite have the dusty road, the faint tar melting in the summer sun, or the full presence of those Canarian pine trees, but it comes very close. I absolutely LOVE it. Best blind buy of the year. Last for 8 hrs at least.

Another breath of fresh air from the "let's pour some ungodly amount of synthetic vanilla to this perfume and call it a day" scene. As a normal person in the fragrance community (but a weirdo to normal people) who stops abruptly on the sidewalk to smell jasmines, honeysuckles, orange flowers and -you guessed it right- hyacinthes, Ilha do Mel is all of my evening walks in Granada, Sevilla and Antalya. This is unique but not in-your-face-unique, this is that situational-introvert woman / man standing in the corner at the party, you're not going to notice them at first glance, but once you somehow start talking to each other, they're either gonna be your spouse or your friend who will be invited to all of your family events.

To/on me this is somewhere between Amouage Honour and Chanel Beige. It also has something in it that reminds me of Noeme's Atitlan, I thought it was mimosa but this doesn’t have that listed; however, mimosa can a distinctly honey-like smell so maybe that’s all I’m smelling. Either way, this is absolutely gorgeous! I could bathe in it, it’s intoxicating. A wonderful introduction to Memo Paris, I already bought another one from them that I have coming on the way and plan to buy many more. The presentation-bottle and box alike-is absolutely gorgeous as well and very high quality just like the juice. Projection and sillage is also excellent, especially for a “lighter” scent like this.

I simply love this fragrance. It reminds me of a warm spring day. Upon spraying you are first greeted by hyacinth that has been kissed by honey. As it dries down the honey warms up and jasmine and orange blossom join the party. The fragrance takes me back to when I was a child on the playground at school. Our schoolyard was surrounded by honeysuckle bushes that would waft its sweet fragrance through the air with every breeze. However, the addition of iris to this perfume takes that little girl memory and makes her all grown up. This perfume is sweet while still being sophisticated and elegant. It is an awesome addition to have in your collection.

The scent is beautiful. From the beginning you can sense how the honey interacts with the white flowers, a beautiful synergy. After it settles down, you can definitely feel freshness. More of a soapy-clean kind in my opinion, maybe even aquatic. This gives the ability to wear it throughout the day and when it’s hot, even though it has honey. In my opinion, it leans feminine but a guy could pull this off, with the right attitude and outfit on a vacation to a beach venue. The only thing I find disappointing is the sillage, it does not seem to project that much. Also, becomes a skin scent after 3 hours tops.

Upon first sniff and with no expectation, the fragrance evoked visions of evenings in early spring as the sun is setting amongst brown golden field of flowers. A truly bright and uplifting scent that is calming, where the florals and sweetness are very well balanced. Drydown is this delicate sweet nectar, I wished my skin smelt like this always. This is undoubtedly the best floral I've ever smelt. Longevity is long lasting but stays very close to the skin. I would purchase a FB if I see it greatly discounted but until then. I will hold onto my sample. Update: Found a good sale and bought a FB. :D

For me, the honey note in Ilha Do Mel is as close to the intimate, lightly sticky, breathless honey of Guerlain Mon Precieux Nectar, and because of this, I adore it. The opening does have a lovely green freshness from the hyacinth and orange blossom. And the honey is not alone, but it gives me that joy, and I will wear it any time. Rather than a sweetness in the darkness, which is the Guerlain, this honey is full of sunlight and gentle breezes, bees buzzing around blossoms on the trees behind you. Doesn’t last as long as I’d like, but it’s also subtle enough to wear in most scenes.

یک عطر شیک و مدرن برای دوستداران رایحه عسل. به شخصه عطرهای عسلی زیادی رو تست کردم و تعداد کمی از اونها مورد توجهم قرار گرفته. این عطر از جمله مواردی بود که منو تحت تأثیر قرار داد. رایحه عسل خیلی طببعی و خوش‌ساخت که یاس و سنبل هم اونو همراهی میکنن و بقیه نوتها. به هیچ عنوان در فضای بسته ازش استفاده نکنید، چون میتونه دل رو بزنه. اما در هوای پاییز، بهار و زمستان که چند بار خارج از منزل این عطر رو تست کردم،تا ساعتها بوش همراهم بود و حس خوب بهم میداد. در مورد شباهت این عطر با آمواژ آنِر، بله به نظرم شبیه هم هستن، ولی عطر ممو خیلی مدرن‌تر و زیباتر از آمواژ آنر هست.

I really wasn't very sure as to what to expect from this. It's won me over at first sniff. Who knew hyacinths, mock orange blossom and honey would compliment each other so well. I wish the hyacinth hung around a lot longer. The neroli comes to the fore quite quickly. The broom adds a curious coconutty twist. If it wasn't so darned pricey I would go fb. It's a perfectly unisex floral. Now that's unusual in itself. Test it for yourself. It's a honeyed spring bouquet.

Ilha do Mel is a beautiful sweet delicate fragrance that evokes the clear summer sky,purity, and everything is clear. The color that I perceive from this fragrance is white... a solar white, white and quiet. Merger with orange blossom and jasmine give the very noticeable smell a joyful and positive character.! I like it. ღ Sillage: 7/10 Longevity: 7.5/10 Scent: 8.5/10 Overall: 8.5/10

This is love at first smell. Honey - jasmine - orange blossom come forward first for me. A few hours after application it dries down to something that smells slightly reminiscent of an old lady scent...but didnt give up on it and its lastability is impressive. I reapplied before bed and in the morning I could still faintly smell it. A very soft and sweet white flower

sweet blooming jasmines, just like blooming in my garden right now. not indolic at all. ilha do mel, as the name suggests, also presents the jasmines dripping in honey. making it less sticky/too sweet, is a hint of floral green-ness and a drop of sweet orange. golden and beautiful. wearing this makes me feel relaxed. perfect for anytime!

Blind buy, not totally disappointed but was expecting something more fresh... for my nose vibes are same direction with Soleil Blanc TF - with more sweetness in this one... probably jasmine plus citruses in both give this feeling. For me it’s very spring fragrance, but wearing also now when the weather is grey and rainy here in Europe..

I just love this fragrance, it's so soft and feels so safe. I get nostalgia when i smell it. Reminds me of early school. When life was simple, safe and no stress. It's my peace in this chaos we call life. My hubs thinks it smells like a old lady but I love ilha with all my heart. 10/10 performance i feel like the prettiest girl alive.

Sharp sweet jasmine-hyacinth blend that’s almost natural with the slight green note. Can’t seem to smell honey as the one in Gold Knight or Back to Black by By Kilian. Neither can I smell vanilla. Very lovely perfume, still it doesn’t warrant the price tag. Okay, maybe the beautiful bottle does make it more justifiable. Lol

I dont get everyone here or the notes. On my skin for the first few hours its very aquatic and salty, fresh and floral and only a few hours later i get more florals and honey. But anyway i love it so much and bought it, its beautiful Edit: just got my bottle, ot is actually much more floral but still salty

This is a perfume that needs to be felt, it is incredibly nerve-soothing. It feels like lying on a peaceful hill, covered by a blanket of warm air. It definitely leans more feminine in my opinion but it is pure tranquility in a bottle.

For me this fragrance is not very durable, though this is truly beautifully arranged honey with white and yellow flowers, not too sweet, just enough to wrap up in its cozy sweetness.

Great beautiful beast, very similar to Givenchy "Eaudemoiselle", but more serious and without shining rose, or is it just an illusion of my nose?

Beautiful soapy/floral-honey scent, lasts for a good 8-10 hours, the more it dries down the more beautiful it becomes.

I don't usually like fruity perfumes, but this is a unique scent. The perfect exception for me

Very beautiful heavy floral honey scent!

A honeyed floral bomb of orange blossom with a touch of green courtesy of the hyacinth accord in the ultra modern and very loud style of Memo's florals, Ilha do Mel was a fun seasonal indulgence--I wore it for a whole entire spring--that I really liked but never could quite fall for, heart and soul. The opening is the best part, when all the florals seem to burst into bloom at once, with their delicious shared honey accord weaving through the air. Yummy. Addictive. Wonderful as the opening is, I hoped that the rest of the perfume would eventually reveal something else, as it settled in. I'm not saying that it needs anything else; if all you want is a big, brassy, spring-tinged orange blossom. I really like a second act, and the only aspect of this perfume I would call evolution is fading of the hyacinth accord, a sort of spring-turns-to-summer effect. The drydown is confectionary, a softened orange blossom with more honey, powdered with vanilla--that Orangesicle accord that lots of us know and like, done on a very large scale. For my own taste, I think a little stink, some indoles or something else animalic--even some skanky cumin--would make the composition feel more squared-off and complete. Some people might find those additions would make the perfume smell (dreads!) mature, while others would find it a little functional-fragrance. I also noticed that Fragrantica's notes suggest that this could be "perfectly unisex," but I'm not sure if I agree; it's no more or less unisex than Poison Girl. Anyone can wear anything, so I don't really want to put this (or Poison Girl) in a gendered box. But on a stereotypical male (woodsy/dry) to female (floral/sweet) scale, I think it's a Quincenera dress in a bottle. I enjoyed my flirtation with Ilha do Mel, but it was a spring fling.

The opening has a green facet thanks to the hyacinth and juniper berries, but the fragrance soon develops into a nice, sweet, honeyed white floral on my skin. Because of its sweetness (not cloying at all to me) and its warmth, I believe it would be appropriate also in autumn and winter, but I don't know how it would perform in very hot weather, could it be a bit too much? I will find out. I have just a small decant and I will definitely use it, but I do know if I will buy a full bottle. It is quite expensive and I already have Soleil by Fragonard which is very similar, although less sweet. In general, I find it very beautiful and definitely something worth trying if you like warm, sweet white floral fragrances. Despite the presence of honey and jasmine, on my skin this fragrance it is absolutely not indolic / animalic.

I wanted more honey but this is way more green and floral, so much so, that it reminds me of Cabotine. Ilha do Mel is a modern classic of watery green, freshly cut flower stems and crushed chlorophyll. The aldehydes’ lift the fragrance higher with an airy and sparkling water bubbly fizz. The hyacinth soars even higher with its powdery-purple-pollen-punch. And the honey, well, it’s shy amidst the mass of green watery foliage. So there is very little warmth in this base, especially as the apparent vanilla is non-existent. Very feminine, very French perfumy - a green-floral, timeless classic.

Agree with 1234 below, this has a sea breeze quality that arrives before anything else. Windswept Azores late spring, wildflowers and wildflower honey. Atlantic Ocean sea spray, cool but not cold. It’s a deep yellow fisherman’s sweater, knitted lovingly by hand. The broom outshines all the other flowers to my nose - a pollen rich golden floral hinting at the honey the bees will turn it into. Easily my fave from the house. Entirely unique and like a story that hasn’t yet been told.

This is elegant and calming. I love orange blossom and I get this along with honey and jasmine. I’m still testing this, but thus far a bit disappointed that sillage isn’t stronger. I get gardenia as well, but I just wish everything was turned up. Sillage and longevity are both poor on me. After testing this for a while I have decided I like it but sillage and longevity remain very poor. If you want something similar to this I recommend Marfa.

This, to my nose, is a well done honeyed pale purple floral. It carries a strong scent memory to my favorite grandmother. Ilha do mel is all Spring to me. I perceive no sensuality in the composition, ergo would be great to wear with the entire family to brunch. If Ilha were an outfit, it would be a classic design demure pastel or floral dress. I get hyacinth first and foremost, but altogether there’s a seamless hyacinth/honey/jasmine accord.

hmmmm....i thought this smelled similar to marfa but now, not so much. it’s closer to diptyque’s do son. it’s pretty but i definitely loved it more in the store than at home. i tried this on in store with initio’s high frequency and i thought that was just just crazy bananas good so that’s why i purchased it. i will have to give it a whirl on its own to see if my “like” can grow into a “love”. for now, this is just something for layering.

I sampled three memo fragrances and this beauty was one of them. I expected this perfume to be about the jasmine note, but no, it is a honey fragrance as its name suggests. Syrupy, sweet but light honey, orange blossom, jasmine, hyacinth and patchouli (although the notes don't suggest so)- it's an interesting fragrance, tad headache inducing, but it's all about the honey. That's all.

A well-balanced white floral fragrance where nothing is overpowering—safe, effortless, and even suitable for a blind buy. The honey note is clearly noticeable, yet it never leans into excessive sweetness. Projection and longevity are moderate. It’s not particularly assertive, but it is elegant and pleasant.

I can smell the honey, vacation close to a beach, floral notes. I'm in the carribbean at night, there's a dance show in a building made of stone, you can smell the humidity and freshness, but the dance give you a warm feeling. Flowers are everywhere, they are serving honey tapas.

Mostly I smell a combination of jasmine and orange blossom, a gentle and balanced scent. I could also pick hyacinth, but it's in the background. A simple but pleasant spring/summer scent. Never sweet. It falls under the category of "Bridal white flowers".

I am honestly confused by the negative reviews. This is a medium weight, inoffensive, slightly sweet floral. Lots of jasmine (especially in warm weather) with a somewhat soapy finish (more noticeable when it's cold outside).

Reminds me of Santorini, strangers sitting side by side on pebbled beaches. The sun is setting but nobody is leaving. A spotted wiry dog pounces on a beach ball, its owner smiling behind the brim of a large sun hat.

Smells like a realistic green apple on my skin. Definitely not for me. Lovely on paper though!

I bought this nearly two years ago when I was on my initial journey in finding the best white floral fragrances . Not sure why I didn’t review it since I bought a bottle 🤷♀️But here goes . It’s true that it smells a lot like Amouage Honour and I bought it for that reason . Honour is a beautiful scent but a bit too woody for me ( even though I bought a bottle ) so when Ilha Do Mel came up with similarities I had to try it . It’s minus the wood notes but huge on the honey. I’m not into sweet scents as they can easily smell sickly and young . But this was an exception . I look back now and can see why I bought so many of my fragrances when I first started . I was just trying to find the best smelling linear white florals and purchased potentials . I rarely use this as I find it is very sweet and it’s potency and longevity is quite loud on my skin . I prefer more understated beauties such as Van Cleef California Reverie . This too has honey but it’s not cloying.

A sweet, pollen-heavy floral, with a bit of a green and slightly rooty undertone. Smells like a warm, late-spring day in a fresh, grassy field. Bees are clambering industriously from flower to flower. It rained heavily the day before, but now it's sunny and warm. Down close to the earth there's a faint, sweet mist of humidity; the residual moisture from yesterday's rain evaporating in the sun. A happy, naturalistic, feminine, springtime scent.

My wife ordered a sample but she did not like it. She handed this over to me. Just sprayed to go the gym. My plan is to deliberately annoy the people around me. I still have juice for 2-3 more sessions. This was my 2nd attempt on this frag. Definitely for warmer temperatures. It works better in high humidity too. I had a different first impression back in the cold dry winter. Not my cup of tea though.

I smell honey and flowers ... no vanilla . Not for me but I will say it has elegance

This is the fourth Memo I have tried and the first I don't love. Despite the name I don't perceive this as a honeyed or even just notably sweet scent. Ilha do Mel is a sharp, soapy floral. To me it smells like honeysuckle, jasmine and mimosa, but in a very perfumey, artificial smelling way, not like real flowers. These florals are cold and clean without any warmth and I can feel them in the back of my throat. I know the notes contain different flowers, but this is what I sense here. To be honest I'm not sure what broom smells like, so maybe that's the culprit. When I first tried this it was still fairly cold outside and I thought maybe the perfume needed warm skin to shine. Today is a pleasant late spring day with over 20°C and I was outside on my bike before I sprayed this, but unfortunately, it makes no difference to my nose. This is just scratchy on me. Oh, and I don't get any similarities to Amouage Honour at all, that one is much creamier without all the sharpness.

Listen, I had to find out what all the notes in this fragrance smelled like together, right? Because who would say that this smells awful when beautiful notes such as honey, jasmine, orange blossoms, vanilla, and iris are in there together?? Well...it smells exactly like a bathroom air freshener 😞😞😞 and I am crushed... I so wanted this to transport me to the coast of Portugal were summers are breezy and vibrant with the sunshine and the sea...unfortunately, I am taken straight into the public restroom at any store you can think of where the lights are harsh and the people are frazzled and in a hurry to get out of there. Oh Memo Paris! The house of my eternal loves Sintra, Siwa and French Leather! Why?? But then again, that’s ok, I forgive you because you gave me Sintra and Siwa and French Leather and many many more that I will get my nose on!

Judging by the notes, I thought this was going to be a real winner. Unfortunately, it is not. This made me smell like an old lady--nothing wrong with old ladies as I love them. I just don't want to smell like one. I could not get this off of me fast enough. On a brighter note, (see what I did there?) my wallet is probably happy.

Got to sample Ilha do Mel a few times. The first time I got a muddled gardenia. Second time I smell a chemical, bitter lemon-peel (Pledge). It almost translates into cumins if I stick my nose to my skin. I’m absolutely shocked at the notes. Not a fan.

This just smells like a very strong and pungent, citrusy scent with a hint of white floral, yellow floral and honey. It makes me think of toilet cleaner! I had to throw this one out, since the scent just nauseated me. It isn't good at all and I don't recommend it. On the plus side, it does last very long though. I'm not sure if that is a good or a bad thing in this case, though...
