Indian Leather

I was hesitant to blind buy Indian Leather, as it is a daring composition. With Memo, you never know what type of adventure awaits. Which is to be expected from brands still using raw materials. Which notes will be more prominent? Will there be animalic components? One thing is for certain when it comes to this house. They will deliver! Indian Leather is a masterpiece, a term I don't use loosely. Indian Leather is one of Memo's most refined and sophisticated choices. Formal to business casual, but more business than casual. Surprisingly sexy, warm and very inviting. Cypriol or Nagarmotha is a wonderful note used in perfumery, but has the potential to be overwhelmingly smoky or spicy. It's blended really well here however. Rose and jasmine absolute are typically detected effortlessly in fragrances, but Indian Leather does not come off rosy or particularly floral in any way. I find it to be very oud and leather focused, with a deep presence of patchouli that is almost chocolatey. Never fecal nor animalic, but quite resinous and dancing on the cusp of being gourmand. Frankincense gradually surfaces, but didn't emerge until 6-7 hours after application. Vanilla creates a beautiful harmony between all of the aggressive notes, so the composition never roars. As it settles and all the elements fuse, a mystery note manifests; a phantom rosewood. While Indian Leather is a smooth blend, it has body and the performance is outstanding. You'll find that Indian Leather does get a little sweeter over the course of several hours as the vanilla warms to your skin, but that's part of what makes this such an exhilarating olfactory experience!

I suppose the folks at memo were obligated to use the word leather in the name simply to keep with the traditional nomenclature. The fragrance opens with a very nice kick of oud, although it's not the overpowering kind that most will associate with Middle Eastern frags. The spices are definitely noticeable from there on. Sadly for me I go nose deaf fter a very short while. Fortunately this is a fragrance that lasts on my skin a very long time and simply touching my neck where I sprayed it I can smell it on my fingers. Mind you, I tend to spray a lot because I know my skin is not kind to most fragrances. On that note very recently I received one of the best compliments on it. I thought it was gone and yet someone told me how incredible I smelled. Despite the outrageous price, I have no regrets about buying this one. Stays on my clothes for what feels like eternity. I will definitely recommend sampling. For the price it might be a little bit too much or not enough for some folks out there. Just don't expect any leather...cheers and happy 2025.

VERY SAFE BLIND BUY FOR WINTER! WOW Im disappointed HOW GOOD THIS IS. I just got this in the mail and I was hoping to return it and get my money back since it’s a blind buy. They sent me the works. The fragrance is very very carefully packaged with love in a unique artisanal style bandana just like in the boutique. It also came with a mini trial vile so you don’t have to open the box just in case you still want to return the frag. Also they gave me a 5ml of Abu Dhabi! Wow so kind! Thank you Memo!!!!!! I love it. Well. There goes my money. I got recommended this from Henry J Wade on Instagram. This perfumer does it again! I love her!! If you like halfeti leather you’ll love this , the dry down is very similar to halefti leather but the opening is very boozy and green , I do not enjoy the opening but the dry down is very good and this does better on cloths then on skin it’s 2 diff scents , for price it’s actually pretty good because discounters has them for $120 and performance is great I got a good 7-9 hours from this Fragrance and it projected for the first 2-3 strong , it’s more of an outdoor wear in the cold for fall / winter , indoors this would be to powerful

Hello Memo, it finally arrived... I do agree with everyone that this fragrance is quite different and unique for all the other lines of Memo.. Oud strikes from the first sniff and its perfectly blinded with spices giving it that original middles eastern-south asian identity it settles perfectly on both skin and fabric, classy and rich. I don't sense leather in it which makes it a bit ODD. yet I do feel good wearing it over all 8/10

It's like India in a bottle, makes me feel like I'm a monk in India in their traditional clothing, walking barefoot running with elephants and racing bugs and tigers in the mud, and the oudy earthy beautiful notes is just being in nature with nature's beautiful yet sometimes stinky yet carries these beautiful childhood facets to it. SUPER BOOTYFUL!! 10/10

the most oud-ish of all Memo, this is a representative of the new wave of "blue" ouds. yes, there is a dirty part of the oud, but it is woven into a fresh, ringing, airy structure. to cut the story short, the fragrance is closest to Amouage King Blue, with Silver Oud also having similarities.

Deep, resinous, warm, inviting, sophisticated, and above all, addictive. Well done Memo, I typically judge you harshly, but not even my intense and generally unkind and impatient scrutiny could overcome what you've done here, it is absolutely beautiful. Love it.

Im really surprised by the low rating this perfume has, it doesnt make sense for me It smells ambery resinous vanillic a bit of oud, not stinky oud, really smells complex refined addicting and inviting, I only have a decant of it but I really enjoy this smell

Love this fragrance. Many Memo fragrances are great but this one just hits the spot with a nice, spicey, mature, classy scent. No too overpowering and not cloying, but it is nice to smell the pleasant scent all day.

You can immediately smell the high-quality oud used in this fragrance. For some, it might evoke memories of an Indian wedding. It's nice but definitely not a blind buy.

I was warned about this fragrance before I even got near it. The saleswoman cracked open the cap, took one cautious sniff, recoiled like she'd just smelled a war crime, and declared, "I hate this fragrance. I wouldn't even spray it on my skin." Then she slid a tester strip towards me the way a bouncer hands back confiscated ID. I declined the strip and asked for a spray on my wrist. She sighed and muttered something about me regretting it, then hit my skin with a blast of the juice which came out noticeably oily. And then it happened. As the juice woke up on my skin, the oily roughness smoothed out. Magic. Rich oud, creamy vanilla, earthy patchouli. A deep, inviting swirl that made her reaction look genuinely confusing. I detect rose in this, but it's hiding somewhere between the notes. Amost like that scene in Ant-Man Quantumania, where Scott gets thrown into that probability field and suddenly there are hundreds of versions of him scrambling around. The rose is in there, I swear, but it's just one tiny "me" in a whole swarm of oud, vanilla, patchouli, and smoky sweetness. You catch flashes of it when everything aligns, and then it sinks back into the crowd again. On a strip, this feels awkward. Dry, weird, like cardboard steeped in sandalwood tea. On skin? It transforms. Heavy, yes. Not shy. Definitely leaning oriental, moody, evening weather vibes. The "leather" tag barely flickers; what you get instead is oud, resin, spice, and a cosy, smoky sweetness. But here's the kicker. Once it settles, it's addictive. Dense yet smooth, sensual yet grounded. It's no flirty daytime scent. It's the perfume equivalent of sipping strong black tea by firelight in an old palace. Many reviewers online say the leather is a misnomer; I'm inclined to agree. Yet for those drawn to oud, resins, vanilla and depth, this is one to chase. I don't know if I'll smell like an elephant parade in a spice bazaar, but I will smell like a memory someone wants to lean in closer to.

I got to experience a sample of Memo’s new leather fragrance and what can I say, it’s right in time for fall because I don’t think that this is a warm weather fragrance. Indian Leather is all oud and resins. Although I don’t see leather as a not here, I do feel that the oud used here is of a very leathery type and it gives a hint of soft, vintage, smooth leather. The opening of Indian Leather is strong and masculine leaning to my nose, but as it starts to settle oud and resins come down and more of ambery sweetness comes forward making the scent less aggressive and more unisex. The flowers are not dominant here (at least not on my skin), but they do provide certain refinement and balance to the whole composition. I find Indian Leather to be a great cooler weather fragrance and a must try option for the lovers of leather oud and resin-forward fragrances. Very appropriate for fall evenings and cooler days, I find this a great addition to the leather line. I will for sure be getting a full bottle.

Don't judge this perfume by the opening because the opening is HORRIBLE! I don't even know what it reminds me of, but when I sprayed this on my arm to test it I was like wtf, I'm gonna be stuck with this nasty smell for the rest of the day :/ So heavy, oily, dank and damp... like a gasoline that went bad lol After about 5 minutes though that stink completely went away and left me with beautiful rich, warm, smoky and earthy spicy leather. It's definitely more on the masculine side. I just wish it was a bit stronger and longevity was better, otherwise this is a really unique oriental perfume once you get past that shockingly bad opening.

Indian leather To be honest, it’s pretty good. It’s not overwhelming or over the top at all, the first whiff of the scent I directly smelled the oud note that is not overwhelming the scent. A soft inviting oud note that blends and compliments the rest of the notes you can pick up directly. The leather, rose, wood, the vanilla and ofcourse the spices. It dries down to a oud wood vanilla kind of sweet fragrance. I expected something else, but I really so like this combination. Test it on your skin or a blotter and find out! It is sample worthy

It’s a powerhouse. Very abrasive and sharp, yet warm once you get to spend time with it. It’s quite enchanting, like a fireplace in a wooden cabin, with cinnamon and spices lingering in the air, or like an ancient temple. It’s very cozy to put on when the weather is cold.

Garbage opening, the dry down is nice, but not something I’m overly impressed by. There are many other fragrances just done better. The $130 price tag does help this out a bit.

Too masculine for my taste. Season: autumn/winter. I don't detect the leather, perhaps this is just to keep up with the Oriental Leather collection. but this is traight up oud/capriol oil. Almost castoreum-oud, a good bit animalic. Capriol oil makes it also to feel like the gasoline patches in a car mechanics shop. It does have some vanilla base, I would say, but no rose or jasmine detected by my nose. I think it would be a good scent for a man, but please try it for yourself since s ́this is less mainstream and may not be for everyone.

Very potent and nose-blinding, heavy patchouli or mosquito spray, reminded me of Patchouli intense by Molinard but has depth and character development.. just harsh and not so nice on the first 30 minutes.. I'd not buy it regardless. Initial spray its like food-waste bin stinky decomposing food with harsh patchouli

Got a sample of this at the store. it's nice, but too sweet for me (like most of Memo's fragrances). reminds me of "rose fatale" by edenist, which i think is much better and more refined. to me this feels very feminine, not sure why people marked it as masculine.
