Luxor Oud

I am looking for the perfect oud to add to my budding collection. I was hoping this would be it (after trying dozens). This fragrance isn't one I would ormally spring for--it's not woody or deep enough, too flowery. And yet I find it oddly compelling, and it's now fourth on my wishlist. Most prominently, it smells to me of raspberries. And roses, but not powdery ones. I subtly smell the oud. I feel like they were stingy with it, almost like.... it cost too much to add in a more appreciable amount? Come on! It's a TAD too sparkling and fruity to be an 'oud scent,' and yet I could see myself wearing it on sparkly evening occasions (so, once every six years) nonetheless. I keep wanting to smell it, and its longevity on clothes is.... enormous. Which isn't to say it is strong or its sillage is obnoxious. But the longevity is truly strartling, and a little went a long way on the cuff of a wool sweater--not nearly so much on my skin, but I err on the side of pouring half a bottle of anything on it, not smelling it within an hour, wanting more sillage, more longevity, more strong musky notes, etc. I am not light or airy. Still, many fragrances last bette and longer on clothes, eve if their evolution isn't quite as exciting or multifaceted. My single disappointment with this scent--other than there not being enough uud to begin with--is that what lingers most are the fruity and flowery notes (sophisticated and quality though they be--no drugstore spritzy flirty scent here, nor grand-dame powdery senior citizen, either) are the longest lasting. I had hoped that what little oud there was in in this would come to the fore or at least outlast and intermingle more with the other notes. It really is a background player: but, aif you are not looking explictly for an oud, it uses oud in perhaps the way oud has best been used before it become the trendy It-Fragrance that so many scents are solely centered arund these days: as a mysterious come-hither in the back, grouding the actual harmony of the fragrance. Despite not really loving these specific things about it, I find myself returning to smell it out of my now 40+ sample collection of fragrances contaiing ouds. It is not like one of the three scents that are now becoming my signatures (tom ford shanghai lilly; Miyako; and Ma Bete by, I think, Erin--I have yet to purchase large bottles of the latter, they are backordered at the niche perfumery I favor)--those are not only more than the sum of their parts, but addictive and obsessive like cigarette breaks used to be back in the smoking era: I go back to sniff the bottle and for that moment, everything stops as I inhale it agani and again, even if I'm late for the bus, or the shower is already running and losing heat, or I'm in the middle of something else. I'm transfixed by smelling them, by the simultaneous effort to capture and lock them into my mimd for a moment that lasts an eternity, and yet complicity with the very essence of what we love about perfumes: their constant reminder of ceaseless change, mortality, evaporation, decay, sometehing becoming nothing. [If it sounds philosophical, it is: getting into perfumes has reopened theoretical, philosophical musings I had not had since a college student]. Luxor oud is not obsessively addictive. And yet when I get confused between samples about whether I love a certain one or not, or what smells or sweet or doesn't, or what is too much to expect from a fragrance, or just need a break the way coffee beans are supposed to provide one, Luxor Oud is the one I go to. I'm scared of wearing my above-named signatures too often, especially on bad or depressed days, lest their magic wear out on me or I come to associate them with a period in my life that ultimately isn't one I want to harken back to [a pointless fear, I know: as I move on in life I will find new scents I adore, and move on to those. but that's like signing a pre-nup: I'm not cynical enough to do that, nor to think that I will want to dump my signatures in disgust and resignation, ever]. Luxor oud brings no such fears. It is a scent I love now. I want it. If it is discontinued in the future, I will be able to live with that without missing a beat. If it gets ruined by being worn on the occasion of a terrible, traumatic day that it forever reminds me of, so be it. It is not THAT special--nor is the oud in it so prominent that were Luxor Oud ruined for me, all ouds would be ruined. it is, in that sense, unique. Yet it isn't complex; while not one-note, it does feel a little two-note: the raspberry (to me)-rose treble, the tamped down oud bass. I can tell there is more to it than that, but that's all it smells of, which makes it SLIGHTLY sephora-crowd-ish, but I think this might differ on one's skin and how the fragrance reacted to it: it could go either more cheap/currently-pop-fruity, or more unique-complex. It's a perfect once-in-a-while addition, rather than key player, in my ideal library. I would't use it as a combination fragrance unless I really knew what I was doing. I might layer it over a more pure oud, but beyond that, it stands well on its own. Try comparing it on clothing vs on skin: more than other fragrances, the longevity and sillage were very different between the two with this one. If you're looking for an oud pure, this isn't it. If you want to dabble in oud but like fruity and floral, try it. No skin or musk elements. No rank elements. No alarmingly aimalic dry-down. An asexual yet HIGHLY 'feminine' [what does that really mean? isn't it just a social construct?] rose oud. I'm not sure this has been a helpful review of the fragrance itself at all. I apologize and will make future reviews more fragrance-, and less self-centered

(time stands still at the gateway of luxor humanity's oldest prayer site.on the banks of the Nile,the stifling heat makes me feel indolent.crocodiles slide silently over the sand under the penetrating gaze of the sphinx.i walk towards the age-old shade of "the giaant ramesses2nd". the temple stones seem to vibrate in splendor and the roses sigh in the torpor/heat.Luxor OUD:an oasis of roses and fruit overflowing with freshness and sensuality in the country of greatness and majesty.the marriage of wood and rose under Pharaoh's whip and sceptre...)..the above paragraph was written on the perfume description by memeo... luxour oud is a tame oud rose accord..its balsamic resinous fruty with hints of clean lighter patchouli and styrax with top notes of mandarin orange and heart notes of rose absolute and desert rose and and styrax resin with oil of cypriol heart...the entire composition sings with majesty with opulancy and dignity.. when you first apply it you are transported to a faraway 1001 nights scene..to a temples sand and setting blazing sun filled with mysterious resins..its not so heavy not so strong not so overwhelming all the notes are blended together in a manner that makes them hide each other hold each other give way to one another in discrete ways in subtle ways in harmonious ways..in sensual ways not so repulsive or on your face types of oud its not even frank oud its an oud accord for i believe that pharos didnt use oud they were more in to the ambers reins and jasmines so the oud here plays a faint role just to acinuate the reins and the rose..that s if you want to conotate the name of luxor oud to it which comes from north the continent of Africa Egypt in particular..honestly i don't see the resemblance only if its to be found in the perfumers heart or olfactory memory or some emotional connotation.. luxor oud reminds me of hard core oriental oud rose connotations that are smelled in the Arabian peninsula in ceremonies of happiness and prayer it reminds me of juliet has a gun the golden one and thierry mugler vouluptous and estee lauder mystique woods and clinique beyound rose and even aramis calligraphy the golden black one the first one that came out befor the rose and safron versions if you mix the 3 you will get luxor oud the perfume is a warm deep floriental oudy resniousy patchouli balsamic mellow soft sensuale almost sweet very beautiful soothing almost incensy almost translucent not as velvety deep as the other ones mentioned yet memerising and very bright and clean in its own way..a true orientalist dream with a twist of modernity..a sophisticated more linear approach to the opulancy and heaviness of oud rose accords its almost translucent,more like the byredo immortal oud what can i say i do like the memeo line they make some heart throbbing perfumes that literally transport you to different parts of the world with emotions and dreams and hidden stories and myth and magic.. the last paragraph is also by memo "les Echappees" is a collection of fragrances for men and women ,forming a map of the world that both delights and stirs the imagination. each fragrance is like a treasure hunt-an olfactory trail that leads to a modern world of perfumery,using the rarest essences.the memo fragrances share three values:the talent for partying,which gives them spontaneous cheerfulness,an undeniable thirst for travelling,which is a sing of interior adventure,and an ability for dreaming,like an extension of childhood. accords oil of mandarin red berries rose oil of cypriol heart rose absolute oil of patchulie styrax resin tonka bean oud accord

One thing that came to my mind before seeing the perfume notes and as soon as I smelled the perfume; It was a very beautiful and pleasant balance between floral and fruity notes is in the Luxor. After I saw the notes of the perfume, I realized that my guess was right and this perfume contains floral, fruity and oudy notes. (About the fruity notes I can say that the bold smell of peach is in there). Of course, the oud in this perfume is very, very light, and it can encourage those who are afraid of smelling a perfume that contains oudy notes, that use this perfume to develop their sense of smell for the oudy note. All in all, you are faced with a very mild, soft, silky, non-angular, graceful fragrance that will make you feel relaxed and happy at the same time. You can buy luxor by blind buy, and it is a perfume that does not have strong oud or floral scents that many people cannot adapt with. Many men (including myself) don't like floral scents at all and consider it feminine; But this perfume will be a good reconciliation for men who do not like floral notes and by smelling this perfume; They reconcile with floral notes. If you don't like sweetness or bitterness in perfume, You can buy this one, Because there is no overdose of sweetness or bitterness in Luxor. Memo Paris - Luxor Oud "the Pharaoh's Oud" This scent is supposed to be a call back to ancient Egypt. The Pharaoh sitting atop his empire surrounded by precious woods, fresh Fruits & Flowers from the fertile Nile river. Luxor is a Place along the lush river, which served as the Ancient Egyptian capital. I like the inspiration - i see & smell what they where going for, anyways enough with the stories & onto the Juice. In the Opening i get 4 prominent notes, Florals, Mandarin citrus, fruits & Oud. shortly after and the citrus disappears for the better. very faintly the mandarin blends in to the fruity smell. A Rosey floral Jam stays with you along side the light woody resinous oud accord. The dry down gets more Oud but still fruity floral - its rich, warm and inviting, almost gourmand. not like your typical Arabian oud. This scent was a compliment magnet for me. Everyone seem'd to just love how good it smelt. Not overwhelming, not harsh or sharp to the nose. i got 12-Hours Longevity with the first 2-Hours being a projection monster. Hours 3-5 projected well and slowly tapered off to a skin scent after 8 Hours. its All season, ALL occasion safe. It's properly Unisex. Allot of Users seemed to vote against warm weather wear - I disagree. Few sprays of this... Me, a Male wearing this on a warm summer day. It worked wonderfully.

I really love this scent, which is why I am so disappointed. It became skin scent after one hour! Does not last at all - what a shame for such a great smelling fragrance. On initial spray, the citrus and floral notes come straight out, with their pleasant and spring/summer feel. Yet, the Oud undertones are right there too, which gives it the perfect balance of light and heavy. This makes it a year round scent for me. I guess the only way to keep it going all day is to re-apply every couple of hours. Not ideal, but that might help. For this reason alone it won’t score highly with me. Rating: 6/10

The opening is orgasmic. I found myself having uncontrollable "physical reactions". After leaving the ER I returned to my wrist and got whiffs of Tabac Tabou which I love dearly. AMAZING fragrance! I can't even put it in words. I've sampled 8 fragrances from this house and bought two full bottles. I'm really starting to feel you can't go wrong no matter what you blind buy from Memo. I hate to say this but even though they are super expensive it's worth the price. This is a fragrance without sin. Pure quality.

Received a tester of this and bought a full size bottle the same day! This is an oud fragrance for people who don’t do oud. It’s light, but definitely still there. The dry down for me is the best part, very well blended and no synthetic notes. I don’t get a huge projection from it, but I couldn’t stop smelling my hand all afternoon. Bargain price just now on AB too ☺️

Personally my favorite Memo fragrance that I've tried, but I am a fan of rose/oud combos. Only issue I see is that the performance overall isn't necessarily on par with other rose/oud fragrances that I've tried. That being said, the quality in this is top notch.

Elegant oud for summer. Fresh fruity oud. Today I has layered it with Paris by YSL, and felt excellent.

The least oudy fragrance I've tried that has "oud" in the name. Luxor Oud is a really nice fragrance but the name is hardly apt for it, this is a slightly woody fruity-floral fragrance. The opening reminds me of Oud from Aaron Terence Hughes (ironically, although I'd also hardly call that an oud fragrance), the main difference being that the ATH is very ambery and has a smooth texture compared to this. The early opening also has a distinct berry tartness up close on skin so I can totally see the raspberry note, even though it doesn't smell clearly like raspberry, this is a really well blended fragrance much like most Memos. I also get a very noticeable rose note here too and it's supported really well by this berry fruitiness. If this had a strong oud accord I could almost see this as a softer Ombre Nomade, but like I said this is just slightly woody to my nose. I could see the argument that this leans feminine but I think it's barely unisex. Performance was really good overall, I wish Shams Oud performed as well as this did. Projection was barely moderate but sillage was on the dense side and I could smell myself for several hours, which is a huge plus considering projection isn't that outward. Longevity is great too, this lasted a good 9 hours but it was already a bit faint by then.

This is a great one if you are intimidated by oud fragrances, or are just starting to get into fragrances with Oud. This is a fruity Oud, with a jammy rose component. So it’s not the popular rose-Oud combo, the fruitiness of this is not like others I’ve tried. This fragrance has an oud accord, so I’m guessing that means synthetic Oud. On my skin, this starts out with fruits and a bit of Oud. A jammy Rose starts to come in—and at that point I thought that this was going in a feminine direction, but this is completely unisex. As it wears it becomes more unisex, and the wood notes come out more. It has a bit of a chypre vibe to it, even though I don’t see oakmoss as a note. I think the dry down even leans slightly masculine in my opinion- very sexy fragrance. It has decent projection, and lasts all day. Also, I think that this is one that can be worn any time of year.

First, the oud is exquisite. It's not fake or manufactured. It's deep, rich, pure, and genuinely transcending almost like a song. I catch myself smelling my wrists because the oud reminds me of a very soft piñon wood. My granny used to go to Mexico and bring back piñon incense and although they are infinitely more pungent than this oud, there is still the harkening back to that time for me. I don't love that at times I catch a whiff of what could only be bug spray. I am not sure if it is the mandarin or the other syrupy fruits but mixed with the oud and the rose it comes off buggy at times. I am not a fan of rose as I feel it garners an "old" lady vibe so maybe I am jaded with the rose notes. I would give this a 6-7 on a scale of 1-10. At times it soars but when you smell Off there is no mistaking it.

A gorgeous Oriental gourmand, this lovely offering from MEMO is not about Oud. It is an evocation of Egypt and the smells along the fertile Nile valley with fruit and flower laden trees. The perfume begins with notes of Mandarin oranges and patchouli. It transitions to a heart consisting of desert rose and candied fruits. It finally settles into a woody base that reveals the Oud and labdanum. The perfume is beautifully blended with very strong sillage and very good longevity. It can be easily classified as a unisex perfume. This is not a perfume for Oud purists, but for lovers of gourmands and Orientals. Those of you like me who have traveled to Egypt and been to the Nile valley will be transported back to that beautiful land immediately. Haunting and beautiful!

Honestly? It's "just" a nice rose scent. It's a bit sweet, woody and has some darkness to it, but it's very approachable. Not a gourmand but not an oud either. Argument for saying it's well blended maybe? It doesn't focus on the florals, reminds me of wine or toothpaste for a second, then it goes back to being this blend. The word oud here is rather lost. I can imagine it being there but only if I force myself. It's the kind of oud label you see on stuff like Tom Ford. Hard to hate and hard to love. It's good but does not stand out. A dumb reach for most occasions. I never thought I needed a scent like this, but I don't see a need to get rid of it either. It reminds me of a private library at evening with a garden outside the window.

The lightest scent of Memo I currently own. It’s a sourish sweet floral scent with a hint of oud, which is quite contrary to my expectation from its name Luxor Oud. Not fruity enough and definitely not ouddy enough. But it does give the vibe of many other rose-oud perfumes without being too strong. People who think those rose-oud perfumes too harsh should give this a try.

this smells just like the candy fruit pebbles, and its so soft and sweet just like candied fruits. At the same time it has woody notes with resin in its base, but together its a symphony of a candy bag. I bet layering this with a champagne note would be heavenly! omnomnomn

Juicy, fruity, floral. Well balanced and the non-natural oud brings it all together. Does it last long? Longevity isn’t as bad as people say or maybe I don’t have any nose blindness for now but it lasted a good 7-8 hours on me.. Quite pleasant as a daily.

This is realy nice, a gentle sweet fruity oud with high quality ingredienses. I would not wear it my self, but still a good fragrance leaning abit more feminine.

Good quality fragrance, like all that come from Memo Paris. Reminds me of Oud Fleur from Tom Ford, although not as dark and decadent.

A nice, polite, toned-down rose oud combo. Redundant if you have any other in this style.

I should have read these reviews before I bought my decant bottle. (Thank God I didn't pay full retail.) I just put Luxor Oud on again after maybe months away. There's nothing inherently wrong with the scent itself, but it needs a new name and a new description from the perfumer. It does not have enough oud in it to have oud in the name. And it doesn't evoke Luxor at all, unless it suggests tour buses full of rich American tourists wearing fruity perfumes. There is waaaay too much fruit in this fragrance, and it keeps going on hours later. I guess most of us don't know what the desert rose really smells like, but I don't smell anything floral in this at all. And not much really woody either. Just enough citrus to almost enter into eau de cologne territory. A good adult eau de cologne, with some depth, but not a woodsy oudy fragrance. At about 6 hours the citrus finally wears off, probably from sheer exhaustion, and a bit of woody base notes appear. But I smelled nothing exciting. The glowing text from the perfumer needs to go. "....temples and alleys of sphinxes that have been resisting time for thousands of years. Remains of prayer and memorial temples...." This scent evokes none of these. It does evoke modern Egypt, maybe what the rich might wear at one of those beaches along the Mediterranean coast. But I don't suppose that sells as well.

Luxor Oud would smell excellent on a man, but on me, it smells like bathroom freshener in a port-a-potty. The oud is ever-present and is done nicely. It does get better as it dries down...all the way down. But who has time to wait that long considering the cost? I'll pass on this one, but Memo Paris is in my top 3 favorite fragrance houses, so all is not lost. BTW..Longevity and projection is amazing on this one so spray lightly.

Smells like grandma incense, if that makes any sense. Like when you walk into a santeria, and in the air there's that very familiar cheap generic incense smell. How could that exact smell be labeled as a luxury perfume, and be sold as one, beats me. Very potent, very offensive. Sample before buying

It’s nice, but I’m a man, and I think this would be MUCH BETTER on a woman.

The only thing I like about this one is the sweet desert rose accord.

Luxor Oud is a plush modern chypre-oriental whose heart is a rose/berries/green patchouli accord that is simultaneously unisex bordering on sporty and lush with oriental amber and sandalwood. Luxor Oud is not like any oud I've smelled, although the woods remind me of the dry down of some smooth natural oud oils I've tried from Ensar Oud. Its opening is a very luxurious and fresh citrus and pale rose on a bed of a softly animalic leather and pale, smooth woods that smells complex and inviting. As it develops over the first hour a fruit accord like red berries and I guess the labdanum accord which smells like a pale green patchouli rise up to greet the rose and dominate the rest of the wear time. It's a sporty, unisex, fruity patchouli embellished with a high quality rose. This is what you are buying and if you are looking for a super high quality fruity rose patchouli you will be very pleased with this perfume. This combo projects powerfully for hours, eliciting compliments, while the woods remain musky and warm, initially enveloping the patchouli rose accord in a cloud of luxury and later projecting softly on the skin if you smell the perfume up close. Its this power and projection you pay for with Memo. Luxor Oud ends with a whisper of softly musky woods tempered with the vestiges of this accord, about seven to eight hours in. I am, I guess, a fan of these modern rose patchoulis when they are done in luxurious materials. This is an uplifting and unisex scent, and there is something addictive about it. It's weird but it does remind me of sunshine and warmth and a place where civilization meets nature in a cooperative way, where civilization is the appropriate and friendly human outpost in an ancient, beautiful and mysterious wild world. I can see classy dudes in white shirts with open necks wearing this comfortably, and also classy women. You can probably get nice fruity rose patchouli from many brands, but this one really does evoke a feeling and a picture of a place, maybe because of the nuances of what must truly be very expensive materials. I agree with a reviewer below, it's not the memory and majesty of pyramids, its more evokes a feeling of hanging out in a five star hotel in Luxor waiting for your cool international Egyptian friend to take you on a private local tour in his Mercedes.

in the MEMO site one can clearly track the ingredients of this marvelous perfume of MEMO 'Luxor Oud'. "KEY NOTES Oil of mandarine, Rose absolute, Oud INGREDIENTS Oil of mandarin, red berries, rose, oil of cypriol heart, rockrose absolute, oil of patchouli, styrax resin, tonka bean, oud accord" 'oud accord' so this usually means either a little amount of the real stuff was used or it is synthetically imitated. the Fragrantica team has erred with its 'desert rose'.and omits to name the 'rose absolute' which so many reviewers do detect well. there is both 'rose absolute' and 'rock rose' in 'Luxor Oud" and the latter, 'Cistus', provides the following characteristics according to the Fragrantica 'notes index': "Labdanum lat. Cistus ladanifer, Cistus creticus Other names: ladanum, ladan, ambreine, European rock rose Group: MUSK, AMBER, ANIMALIC SMELLS. Odor profile: deep, powerful, leathery and ambery note derived from the rock rose and one of the default ingredients in chypre fragrances as well as the amber "accord" in oriental fragrances." the 'desert rose' is another plant alltogether. (adenium obesum) this all to sort of elucidate erratic information about yet such fabulous perfume which is quite insistent in a demure way. the 'oud accord' is working here to enhance the lovely deep rose smell. the perfume overall has this oriental cachet and luckily the fruit accords do not dominate on me. (but they are also considerally less prevalent as the reviews and scent pyramid of Fragrantica suggest.) 'red berries and mandarin' we see in MEMO's memo. LUXOR OUD is another memorable voyage to places all over the world and may it contribute to a greater sense of cosmopolitanism enhancing intercultural appraisal....

apparently Alienor Massenet likes her perfumes Massive and Impacting. Imposing and Superimposing. this perfume, launched in 2012, I must have also bought around that time. so the Bottle here in my house is 24 years old, and let's say 20 years. thus it is not only the fact that it is another Alienor Massenet perfume, but also its very age, in which it seems to have become more concentrated. and again immediately I remember the whole perfume with the olphactory blueprint it also made then. I also remember an early comment here that a man asked himself: 'what does Luxor has to do with Oud ?' I had to laugh loud. yet the perfume makes a cohesive impression and with the first [stagnated] whiff, free again, at first I got a WHAPP of the Oud, woody, dry and oud-y. then I got a beautiful fragrance of Rose, although the material used is that from the 'Desert Rose'. I must be sensitive to damascenones... these are the building blocks of this perfume which is also imagined around the theme of 'traveling'. Oud, Rose, Patchouli and Labdanum. they make a Whole, a wholesome rounded perfume. I guess all the fruits and even a dosage of Fruit Notes fly away from my intra nasal aromatic neuroreceptors bc I don't smell any fruits. I have learned that these notes stealthily can enfreshen, enlighten, juicifying the perfume also for me, not smelling any particular fruit. I have worn the perfume for some days now and I clearly remember not only the Scent, but also my appreciation for it. MEMO has a weak spot in my being because the first one, Lalibela, was a gift to me by my straight twinbrother in Paris when we were vacationing there, with his then 12 year old daughter, my niece, who is expecting her child now....

What a remarkably beautiful rose ! For an oriental scent LO is rather quiet. This great concoction includes a smokey aroma which accompanies the rose and the oud (I do not care if it is the "real" stuff or synthetically made) remains very much in the background. No medicinical start, no terpentine, no cow dung whatsoever. There is a juicy mandarine/tangerine playing back and forth but only medium sweet. The same fruity note that greatly annoyed me in Emir (paired with sickly sweet sugar) is very balanced here. Nothing is too much, nothing is out of the frame given for a round composition, no off notes. This is probably the most beautiful fruity floral perfume I have come across in a long time. I am usually into very heavy and heady scents, choking and cloying, narcotic and obnoxious :-) This one is so different but still an oriental. Do not forget the hint of smoke floating through the roses and the fruits. Delicious ! I am going to get myself a full bottle today, luckily I know a store that sells Memo. As this brand was totally new to me so far I must say : big surprise (in a really good way) and a recommendable perfume for oud starters not willing to jump into icecold water.

This doesn't smell of raspberry, to me its very citric yet sweet - like orange marmalade or marzipan covered in white sugar. but there is a light fruitiness to it, so could be the berry. the oud is synthetic and very light, although immediately recognisable. it also has a strange mint freshness to it, i've no idea where its coming from, but it keeps a perfect balance to the initial sweetness. maybe its the synthetics used to recreate the lily-of-the-valley smell, that give such an illusion? could be. anyways, love this Memo offering, I find the particular sweetness extremely addictive and pleasant. I used to wear it both in summer and winter; in summer had a few comments saying its too sweet. I would say if you enjoy amouage portrayal, renier 2021 nights - this could be a more budget-friendly alternative.

This is not what the descriptions here prepared me for. I guess there’s something positive about it that others find in the opening. It’s not there for me. To me it smells like ethyl alcohol gone bad/sour and with some deteriorating patchouli oil in it. Nothing really fruity or balsamic or oudy or woody or floral or powdery. Just a “sour” patchouli on a screechy violin. Labdanum attempted some rescue, from afar, ever so faint, but to no avail. Nothing I’d want to smell on myself or on others. EDIT: building up tolerance is helping me develop slight appreciation and hopefully it might grow on me, so if you are stuck with a bottle - maybe giving it some time and patience may help

A sweet, floral oud that is a wonderfully bright, uplifting scent. I get a few connections to Blackmail by Kerosene (without the smoke) as it's sweet muted by loud basey funk. I have a few scents like this already, and I really do like this one, it's just not 100% different and original enough for me. It is totally worth hunting out and trying, though, especially if you're a fan of non-bombastic oud scents...

My nose smells a very well done oud fragrance. Different than most others and it does have a fruity accord but the oud dominates. Stuff lasts for more than 6 hours and it's more than a skin scent for the whole time. This is different and very well done and not all all harsh. Yes, a bit pricey but certainly no more pretentious than others charging significantly more for about the same return. Good stuff.

Very sweet but only slightly juicy rose, effervescent regal wood (not a resinous or dark "oud") becomes more prominent in the drydown. Lovely reliable and safe sweet rose, reminded me of Nishane's Favonius but fixed its problem of being too dry. Fits all occasions but can come off as repetitive or linear. It's quite nice, fruity, jammy, rosy... I don't get much Oud tho. It reminds me a lot of the beautiful Majalis by Spirit of Dubai (which has probably 5 times as many notes and also costs 2 times or more than Luxor Oud).

Yeah, I mean, basically fruity oud. Smells good. For some reason it gave me a hit of nostalgia - don't know why; something from the 90's?

I can smell the rose, fruits, slightly oud notes which makes this a very pleasant fragrance for a woman and all year round day.

Mmmmm i just tried it on a paper strip .. very middle eastern fruity woody ,, i like it alot :)

This is absolutely nothing like Majestic Aoud.
