Moroccan Leather

This is nothing like Irish Leather, this is much more on the dirtier realm, but yet it has this aldehydic, clean profile that I would even say leaned more gasoliney (this is what I thought when I smelled it the first time). Again, it is not as clearly clean-smelling as the Irish Leather is, but it's more of a kind of "soapy solvent cleaner" (I suspect it's the galbanum and the styrax coexisting) kind of clean (maybe something used to treat jackets or something) but it isn't off-putting, but it does eventually blend into a more dominantly dirt-earthy scent. Normally I'm not super thrilled about clean fragrances (probably because a lot of them smell about the same), but this one is just so unique, that I'm contemplating a full bottle of it. You can still tell the leather note in it, but it isn't some carnal note that you would find in Leatherize DS&D's perfume. You might get away with this as a night fragrance, but it's scent bias leans towards more for daytime use, you could say it's bordering on the edge of office use, unless you're already avant garde in the office, this is pretty safe to try. Overall captivating fragrance.

I got a 10ml of this and a couple other for free because i bought some fragrances in a shop. Realistic suede, for me it weirdly smells like some sort of green tea with a hint of honey along side the suede. I dont mind it at all. It is a thick scent and they didnt bother making it powdery which i can appreciate, most perfumes nowadays are to scared to do that and imo it gives this perfume depth and personality. It is smooth but somewhat heavy. And at some point i feel like it gets too close to lavender, a bit spicy and citrussy, even though that isnt mentioned anywhere on the notes. Which again isnt a problem because i love lavender. Overall its an 8/10. Its deep, even though somewhat linear, it still takes a few whiffs to get to feel all what the fragrance has to offer. Sillage is okay, but that might just be because of the tester also doesnt last a lot. Bigger bottles might have better longevity. I feel like there is people in the market for this and they will love it and carry it as an everyday scent. And that might justify the price.

This is my go to for fall. To start off, I was actually looking for something with a galbanum mote in it ever since trying that one Gucci bloom flanker with the strong galbanum and petrichor notes. Moroccan Leather definitely presents it in a way that's easier to wear than something like Channel 19, which I've been told makes me smell like a grandma. Second, the leather is definitely there in my opinion. You have to wait for the dry down a bit, but you end up with a warm inviting leather smell that's like wrapping yourself up with a nice suede jacket. The most prominent note for me is the citrus, and after having visiting Chefchaouen for real, is the main *artistic* draw of this fragrance. I think the artist nailed the scent of the mandarin trees dotted along the river of the city. One of my favorites and although it's a little pricy, I'm glad I forked over the dough. Do make sure that you give it a test run, first, but if you're already here looking for a leathery galbanum based fragrance you probably already know what you like.

Memo's Morrocan Leather has been on my want list for a while. It smells like leather mingled with lime, and the longevity is decent. I get whiffs of it throughout my day, and it's a pleasant surprise the way it creeps up on me. I deeply enjoy this. If anyone knows of something similar, please let me know or post it in your review. Because it would help to know of a similar scent at a better price point. Leather and Lime, Iris. Makes me think of a Grecian vacation and a well tailored suit on an important day. Manicured hands, soft feet, moisturized skin. Someone clean who takes pride in his/her appearance. This is a grownup, rich scent made of vacations and expensive sheets.

I really like this fragrance. It is dark, leathery, leathery and leathery. And oh, yes, did I mention leathery? Based on other reviews I was hoping for more citrus and ginger notes but those are very subtle. Leans masculine with aromatic tones. The person who wears this is confident, stylish and distinguished. Use sparingly though. The fragrance is strong and lasts long. Definitely a head turner. Rating: 9/10

The low rating for this is bizarre really. After Italian Leather my favorite of the Leather series of Memo Paris. Constantly changing, sometimes reminds me of African Leather, Irish Leather or Italian Leather.

Super manly spicy suede fresh leather! that has a soapy green core, a hint off cannabis and Iris makes this a original creation, last a long time and projekts normal (thank god)

Dont get the low reviews on this fragrance at all! Best blind buy Ive ever bought. Smells dark, unique in different ways and is not a hardcore leather fragrance 11/10!

Green leather done right, I do get the Moroccan idea behind it, do get the citrusy side, although it seems more from the ginger than from the mandarin, also get the leather, very nice and smooth leather accord with some ver interesting musk, and a great green aura from the vetiver, cypress and galbanum... however, the Iris and amber I don’t really get, it would have been amazing if they were noticeable. Very decent everyday smell if you like fresh orientals, not particularly useful for a night out or special occasion, most people say it smells like fresh cut grass, and that is not the scent you look for in a night out/special occasion perfume. Moderate longevity but completely lacks projection. From reading other reviews I see this scent is quite polarizing, not Interlude false polarizing, Interlude is a perfume that nobody likes, however, most people falsely say they do to feel a sense of absurd belonging to “expert” perfume community, on the opposite side, Moroccan Leather is a true polarizing scent... there are three accords playing in this perfume, the first one is a very nice citrusy accord which everybody will like... but the other two are very difficult... on one side we have a very strong and opinionated fougere scent, fougere is a perfume group that not everybody likes, starting with me... and on the other side we have a very smoky leathery oriental, that as creamy as this one is, it’s still a very heavy accord that won’t be everyone’s cup of tea. Still, a very good, very unexpected, and quite polarizing (not always a bad thing), green leathery niche fragrance. ***UPDATE*** After a few hours the smell keeps going strong, the leather is still there, subtle but still there, however, the fougere side is quite present and not so enjoyable anymore, at least for me... it reminds me of Erawan from Parfums Dusita which I kind of regret buying.

Unmistakable Daniela Andrier deluxe soapy signature. One of the few Memo Paris fragrances not signed by Alienor Massenet. If you like her other green fragrances like Prada Infusion d’Iris and Maison Margiela (Untiteled) you will certainly also enjoy this one. The iris and the galbanum -green peas note- are dominating in the beginning. It’s not overly leathery, no tar or birch heaviness here. Instead a somewhat retro soapy leather along the lines of barbershop creations like Geo F. Trumpers Spanish Leather. Plus lots of white musk. So what is Moroccan about this fragrance as it doesn’t step into the cliché spicy territory one might have expected? Was the inspiration one of those beautiful artisanal olive oil bay/laurier scented soaps? I would say ML is rather discrete. For understated elegance.

I have worn Moroccan Leather (from some samples) a few times now... And both my wife and teen daughter have asked me not to wear it around them anymore. When my daughter first smelled the opening she said, “It smells like grass & cigarettes... in the worst way possible”. Personally... I actually like it. Although, I don’t get much leather from this. Just freshly cut grass, and an ashtray overfull with cigarette butts. Still... It smells expensive. This is the kind of fragrance I prefer to wear to non-office business meetings with people I don't necessarily like. The issue for me is that it projects pretty well for about 45 minutes... then quickly sits closer to the skin. Defeating the purpose of why I would wear it. Longevity is good though... about 9 hours on my skin.

My decant just came, and it's a lot more masculine than I was expecting. I wear a lot of men's scents but I was expecting more of a leathery dark iris scent and got a huge blast of orange blossom instead. 5+ hours into it and it was still the same. I'd read the other reviews and I saw that there was both orange oil and orange blossom, but I guess I thought they wouldn't take over. Oh well. It isn't horrible; most people will probably love it. It's a sunny Mediterranean scent, whereas I was looking for something dark and leathery....

Already available in Moscow, I tested it a week ago. Very nice fragrance for those who like orientals with leathery and smokey-spicy notes, quite easy to wear and versatile. I would love to receive it as a gift! I just think it adds nothing new to the olfactive palette, especially for it's price. Similar scents can be found at many brands. Longevity and sillage are moderate, so it's rather safe for the impressive list of hardcore ingredients mentioned above. Worth trying!

Very earthy, muddy and bitter initially, once it dries down a bit. After it dries down it settles into more of a fresh green fragrance but still bitter and it smells very pleasant, it definitely does smell very much like leather. Honestly this one feels it smells the most like the inside of a leather bag to me out of all the memo fragrances, it’s just bit too bitter for me and I would’ve liked a tad bit more sweetness, but maybe I’ll grow to like it the more I wear it.

There comes a time in life where you stop caring about people's opinions/feelings about you. Not in a bad vibe way, but in a freeing way, you start looking within you and you find peace and confidence in yourself, not allowing people to say what you should or shouldn't wear. Do you let people tell you how to dress? Do you let people tell you what to eat? Do you let people tell you where to go? Then why would you let people tell you how to smell? Morrocan Leather baby!

Less harsh version of Irish Leather. I love this gentle opening and settling. I dislike this sweetness coming out at the end. Very refined, dark, masculine. Flowers, orange and tonka are almost not there. They are somewhere in the background making softer this hard core of spices, woods and leather. For experienced and advanced scent lovers. Not a mainstream of mass pleasers.

This smells so much like French Leather by the same house. Doing a side by side comparison as i write this & oh man their almost identical.

It's like a lighter (fresh-spicy), sweeter (amber-floral), and less masculine version of Irish leather

Unfortunately the extremely strong Galbanum note ruins this one for me, When it comes to green notes in fragrances, I like some but not others. This one has a strong green bell pepper smell in the open that I struggle with. It's more tolerable past the first 30 minutes or so, but what kills me is that this smells really rather good on the dry down once that Galbanum has mostly disappeared. I get what they were going for, and in all honesty, it works to create that fresh suede leather accord. I just don't much care for it. I do however, think this fragrance would work really well on a rainy spring or fall day--it totally captures that vibe. Out of the 6 Memo Paris fragrances I own, this is the only one to miss the mark for me. Had I known I disliked the note of Galbanum, I would have skipped this one. So that's my advice to the rest of you: if you know you have a hard time with green notes, skip this.

This really caught me by surprise. It begins with an herbaceous, aromatic, bracing grassy texture. It's heavy on the galbanum and vetiver. As it dries, that green bite rounds out with leather, a hint of iris, and something almost clean and soapy. It's a conundrum in a fragrance, fresh and soapy but dirty, round and warm with the leather and a bit bitter with the green notes. I think of a rogue in their comfiest leathers having a cup of herbal tea outside on a day where they can relax and work the earth in their little herb garden. For me this is an all weather fragrance, but I think it sings in the spring.

Irish Leather's unisex cousin. Definitely much softer and sweeter from the added florals, but the main focus of the fragrance is the exact same as Irish Leather's. No leather note to be found here either.

Nice and pretty heavy leather with some fresh and powdery/smokey undertones. In the drydown gets funkier and lighter, also a little powdery or sunscreen like. It also evolves throughout the wear.

Very leathery, very masculine. Can’t say I detect much of other notes, they’re very in the background of the leather.

For me after a while I just can’t stand it anymore.. Something about the leather gets a bit boring.

In one way or the other, this perfume reminds me of a “Jardin” perfume of Hermes, I think Un Jardin en Mediterranée – I like this sort of perfumes, a bit green – a good fragrance for the office or a walk in the forest but not something you’re going to impress people with or the wear on a romantic evening - in the series Memo Paris Leather range I like African Leather the best

They arent similar with Irish Leather IL was a classic green fragrance as fresher and cleane. Its like the more aromatic dirtier and spicier version of it I didnt like that

Scrolling through the comments here, I suspect there might be a certain compound in this fragrance which some people are sensitive to and others are not. I am, unfortunately, VERY sensitive to it. Thusly, Morrocan Leather is without exaggeration one of the worst things I have ever smelled. I'm not certain if this has anything to do with it, but it's the only explanation I have: To my chagrin, I am a coriander(leaf, not seed)-hater and a supertaster of 6-n-propylthiouracil (bitter greens) and very probably other molecules--certain botanical aromas are out for my blood, and there is something in this fragrance which wants to kill me. Similar to coriander (or cilantro as you in the states may know it), there is an absurdly offensive stinkbug-like odour which completely overwhelms absolutely everything else in this fragrance... and my universe at large. Unless you're a supertaster or coriander-hater I don't know how I can possibly describe this to you--it's all the offense of coriander leaf ramped up by another two orders of magnitude. Apocalyptic. Nothing like purification, at least, though every bit as repulsive. This is absurdly, unbelievably, unbearably bad. I need this sample vial to go wherever nuclear waste is stored. Get it awayyyyy! (jokes aside I am going to keep it just to test on other people. This stuff is so incredibly terrible I feel it is my scientific--nay, humanitarian--duty to figure out who it effects and why.) I can't tell you what this fragrance smells like, I can only tell you to be careful with how much of this you apply if you are to be in crowded spaces--please have mercy on my sensetive-to-whatever-the-hell-this-is kin. I think we must be rare, judging by the favourable rating of this fragrance, but we exist. Actually, (and this is pure conjecture... though if you can find any papers on this please point them my way, I'm fascinated by the science of this) if you're hypersensetive to vegetal bitterness, I suspect there is a risk that you could be among them. Do NOT buy this blind. All this said, my other family members seem to enjoy this one... I am the sad mutant.

I imagine they came up with this after wearing a leather jacket on a hot Moroccan day. Sweaty, sticky and stinky. This fragrance is thick and resinous, with the green smelling like damp discarded leaves and the leather smelling more like cheap boot polish. You do get some lighter Ylang Ylang, which is pleasant but it is clumsily squashed by the heavy handed green and synthetic aromatic notes. Sharp and grating, enough to make anyone feel nauseous.

You’d have to pay me to wear this. What the hell is this? I usually like bold, edgy scents, but this is horrible. Save your money—just go smell random homeless people on the streets of Mumbai. You’ll get the same mix of body odor and spicy curry for free. And please, if you’re brown, don’t even think of wearing this. Trust me, you’ll thank me later.

this smells just like Vetiver 46 Le Labo plus a heavily obnoxious unbearable synthetic opening, tacky bottle design, way overpriced, sadly a hard pass

The worst perfume I have smelt in 10 years. Smells like a sweaty unwashed man who used a cheap grandpa's cologne. Downright disgusting.

What is this? An utterly disappointing release, that is the result of a lazy reckless marketing strategy aimed by greed and nothing else but greed to win over stupid consumers-they who think that there are "subtle" differences between this release and irish leather. We all have witnessed the proliferation of brands that label themselves as "Niche" putting forward "reimaginings"- to put it lightly- of Tom Ford private label fragrances and the sort, but to bring to the world another fragrance that is identical to an earlier hit within the same brand list....that's one creative crappiness I-and hopefully you dear reader- will not tolerate. Maybe it is not the first time that a brand has done it; Nasomatto owner Alessandro Gualtieri has redressed Black Afgano in two releases from orto Parisi but at least they were not lame copycats. This is a new LOW for Memo Paris, whom I have cherished since day one and would not have written this harshly if it were not for my love for in the first place.

Stark opening, that's dark, and screechy, very unique, and could be challenging. A very mature scent. Aromatics used in this are so sharp, herbs like galbanum, the Cypress, and vetiver create a very rustic, cigarette ashtray-like, inky, smoky type of accord. A bearded pirate, comes to mind wearing this scent, sailing in the thunderous storm. Photorealistic iris and leather blend. In the far dry down this does smell similar to Russian Leather from the same line. A true standout from this line of Leathers from Memo. Powerful, authoritative, rugged scent, that slowly feels more sophisticated as it dries down. The interpretation, the story and the marketing of this brand are very fitting. To me this is one of the best herbal aromatic leather scents out there. Done well.

I've had this 5ml sample for 6 years now but never bothered to really used it. Moroccan leather smells like the typical Middle Eastern leather fragrances, such as Swiss Arabian Al Ghutra trios minus the oud (Shumoukh, Attar and Oud). Very prominent leather, deep green and woody, ultra masculine and spunkiness. It'll stick to your nostrils when you sniff it. Many, specially younger generations, won't appreciate or understand this beauty. Often mistaken as stinky Arab scents without totally understanding the reasoning behind it - “Omg this smells like... idk... old spices and responsibility?? Where’s the vanilla sugar cookie note?? 0/10 not edible enough.” Oh no not again, those young caramel-vanilla generations are offering their juvenile opinions again LOL.

Few years back, I got a sample sufficient for a week. I have no idea what stopped me from purchasing it. But what I recall in my memories is a very warm, rich, sweet even, deep and almost making you drown in a magic or illusion scent. Perfect name indeed! It’s one of those perfumes I need to be in a very seductive mood, that’s how I feel about it. I tested it in the winter, so... I guess I’ll give it a second chance or at least a second sniff for beginning. And let’s see!

Iris. Not so much leather. But if you look for an Iris deeper than Prada Infusion d’Iris this can be a nice choice. It is an iris on the flowery side though, not the green one of Chanel 19 nor the ultimate and magnificent rotten earth iris of Iris Silver Mist. But I did not find the leather to the same extent I was expecting like in the rest of the Memo’s Leather series where the leather is more pronounced.

This is a pleasant fragrance. Not quite what I expected, but enjoyable in it's own right. It opens up with a grey flannel vibe to me, I'm assuming it's from the galbanum, iris, and vetiver. It smells very green and flowery in the opening. As it settles on the skin it lays down very nicely. It has a warmth to it from the amber. I honestly don't smell much leather here. It's more about the Iris and vetiver.

in the rural area I grew up in we used to have fields of datura plants by the river, but not the ones with pretty flowers romanticised by mr Lutens, the wild ones - with thick juicy stems full of water and huge parsley-like leaves. this is the smell, no matter how carefully I try to listen to the notes - its just those green datura stems to me. herbaceous, bright green, grassy and wet.

Galbanum has remarkable rich green effect beside cypress in start, follow through its magic blend to vetiver & some soapiness vibe which particularly reminds me of Chanel N19 & then it shifts between hot and cold, between the dryness of musky wood and the fattiness of a leather swathed in flowers with honeyed tonka in base. Undoubtedly one of the most interesting in the collection.

If leather grew on trees, with patent leaves on suede stems– This is the finest full grain, sultry green, almost pulpy, tanned by smoke bark plants and orange blossom, with smooth iris and ginger underneath. Both animalic and verdant, yet also clean and polished. I really like it. Lasts half the day a few inches off the skin, and turns all clothing to mossy nubuck hide for a week.

A lot like their Russian Leather, with the forest green theme. Cedar, pine, charred oak, black pepper. This is less smokey and goes more into dark chocolatey territory in comparison. Ruh khus, cannabis and non-sweet cardamom is also present here. Pleasant, masculine-forward scent. No apparent changes or developments in its scent profile but this is fine as is.

Short Review Memo naming convention is very strange as name takes you in certain direction and testing of the fragrance is totally different than what name was suggesting - Leather in it very minimal - its mostly vetiver dominant fragrance supported by iris and Ginger - Its decent fragrance however not what i expected or wanted ! 7/10

عطر جالبی بود ولی فضای خیلی خفه و کدری داشت که من باهاش ارتباط نگرفتم. ادیت: جزو بهترین عطرهای این برنده و خیلی رایحه‌ی خلاقانه‌ای داره، صرفا به شخصیت من نمی‌خوره و مناسب بالای 30 ساله و عطر جدی‌ایه.

There's slight differences between this and French Leather. FL had some dusty tender rose note. ML is similar,but different. This maybe more masculine. I quite like it.

Leather is very subtle, just get a ton of the green aromatics...way too sharp and unpleasant. Smells like if you made Italian Leather curry

Not a hardcore leather fragrance It also has a scent of cleanliness, iris, leather, and vetiver (it smells dry and earthy). loved it

Spring Fall Scent: 4,5/10 It's a green, bitter scent. Not really my cup of tea. Longevity: 4,5/10 Silage 4,5/10

Would be great for cigarette smokers, on the same level as Chanel No. 19 edt. Iris, leather, slightly dirty.

Almost the same as La Yuqawam Ambergris Showers, but much weaker
