Retba

i love the MOON from Frederic Malle, but was looking for something more merciful for my family members. Retba was unaccepted find. i spent couple hours in Paris MEMO store to test all the line of this amazing perfume house. a lot to choose from, very friendly&patient sales person. When i had to stop on two perfumes to buy, Retba was the n1. The Moon opens very bright and juicy and stays very present through the day, Retba opens peppery and cinnamonish ( but not in "bakery" way), with soft note of raspberry and saffron. Oud, amber, vanilla is providing syrupy/liquid gold base. Nothing is overpowering, perfect blend, easy to wear and not offensive as some oud perfumes can be. it is definitely unisex, office friendly, but still mysterious and extremely pleasant to wear. Sillage and longevity is medium high. can be blind buy or great present, but i advise to test it first though

Every once in a while someone will drop a bottle on Ebay. I got one recently for about 130, which I think is decent. This definately is a slightly sweet amber fragrance. If the dry dusty ambers turn you off, but you like amber and many ambers are just too sweet, this is a great middle ground. It actually reminds me a little of Triumph Of Bacchus by Argos, or La Capitale by Xerjoff. La Capitale is more fresh and Bacchus is kinda syrupy compared to this. This smells like the cardamom and saffron is turned up more, but I do get that slightly sweet angle, but it's by no means an Accento or Erba Pura strength, but it's that kind of fruity note. Excellent stuff. Sad this was discontinued. Luckily this brand doesn't get the influencer hype, so the bottles stay relatively inexpensive. LOVE!

This melts my brain. I’ve not really smelled anything like this before...I definitely get the raspberry off the top - with a hazy vanilla and spicy cinnamon backbone. It’s unique and...outrageously awesome. It’s unisex-ish. Definitely not firmly masculine or feminine - but less masculine and more feminine in my opinion - which will usually stop me in my tracks...but not this time. This is too good to worry about that shit. Creamy raspberry. Calming, classy, enticing, unique. All of it. Feels nice not getting hammered by another expensive blind but. Do it!! 8/10

Hhhmmm, I wonder if Memo had to reformulate or tweak this fragrance. I have the older version from years ago which came in a leathery box and clear bottle and I do not get any prominent oud. I do get a very bright fruity fragrance that is moderately sweet and rests on a stunning woody, ambery, vanilla base where some spices come through to give the overall kick to the fragrance. It is simply stunning and one of the most complemented fragrance that I have. I have to test the recent batch to compare and report back.

An evolving fragrance centered around a grounded, "Western" Aoud. While that may not sound too exciting, Retba distinguishes itself from the pack with the brightness of raspberry without ever becoming fruity. A creamy, saffron, vanilla and pink pepper forward scent that dries to a woody, sweet and resinous base. I think Memo's choice to make this scent an exclusive was poor marketing on their part because it is a wonder more people don't talk about it.

A syrupy dense creamy chai with a strong dry medicinal (absolutely not stinky) oud. The open is very heavy and somewhat traditionally masculine. However after about an hour the oud backs off and everything mellows out to a very unisex softly spiced amber-vanilla-raspberry-truffle skin scent. Not ground breaking at all but still lovely.

I am surprised this fragrance does not get more attention, very nice and warm fragrance, with sweet and creamy notes.

Much sweeter and more ambery than I was expecting. I don't get any oud from this, nor do I get as much raspberry as I would've liked. Que sera. Still a nice fragrance, just not my cup of tea.

When I first smelled this in a dept store, I was floored by how sweet and bright the fruity note was with a kick of saffron. However, the bottle I bought from them smells entirely different. I have to close my eyes and sniff intently to find the raspberry. What I perceive the most is a super synthetic oud that comes across like burnt plastic, some leathery notes from the saffron and a dose of black not pink pepper. It's like a slightly less smokey Cherry Punk (which smells like a smoker's leather jacket right after spraying cherry air freshner). I'm so sad I don't have the same wearing experience as I did from the store tester-esp after paying full price for it. I'll let it sit and macerate for another 6 months in hopes that it will be better next go round. Sigh.... Update Nov 2023: This is too "oudy" for me. Also, it's too similar in profile to Byredo's Black Saffron and Diptyque's Eau Rihla for me to keep all 3 so I sold this as my least favorite among them.

Absolutely love this scent - recently purchased on Memos website (so they have brought it back if it was discontinued). You get the raspberry sweetness throughout, but not overpowering... then the woods come through, but it is all well balanced.

so i dont realky understand why this was discontinued to me it smells like bitter dessert done right spicy and sweet but not overly sweet like some sort of kadaiff does anybody plan on selling a bottle?

Has anyone found an alternative to this, or something that smells very much similar? Because this has been discontinued and is almost impossible to find
