Sherwood unfurls like dawn’s first light through ancient pines. Soft, lithe, yet rich with hidden life. The opening is green and slightly funky: a flutter of earthy carrot seed tangled with wild blackcurrant’s tangy, almost pungent twist. You’ll catch pink pepper dancing through the foliage, a rosy spark of pinene that teases before vanishing. And then, ah, then!—the heart settles into a cozy hearth. Sandalwood rises, creamy and warm, its lactonic whispers cradling a buttery swirl of nutty and plush accords, reminding me of hazelnut and fig. Coconut lactone coils around these notes, adding that plush, tropical satin, while a hint of cashmeran lends a velvet undercurrent, as if the wood itself had been polished by moonlight. Subtle florals float on this wood—orange blossom shimmering like dew on green bark, Damask rose tinted with a glimmer of rose oxide’s soft glow. A ghost of tonka even, coumarinic warmth extending the top-note spice into something hushed and glowing, bridging morning’s chill and afternoon’s comfort. Liqueur-like tannins grounds the cream, soft musks weaving through the grain, supporting the scent’s enveloping caress. No irritating, suffocating sweetness here. Simply this balanced lullaby of resinous warmth and tender florals, a perfume that hugs rather than hugs too tight. After too many encounters with pickle-y, syrupy sandalwoods, Sherwood is a revelation—a milky, woody sanctuary that feels both vernacular and sublime. I may have whispered “finally!” under my breath. A true woodland dream, distilled.

I had bought this fragrance whilst looking for something more for the spring time. I absolutely fell in love with it in the store and I still love the scent. The lady in the store explained the story behind it to me (inspired by the Sherwood forest and the story of Robin Hood) which I could get in the initial spray but to be honest, now that I've worn it countless times, it leans more on a tropical side, but not how you would a imagine a tropical scent. To me I don't get any rose or orange blossom at all but I get a bit of coconut, especially in the dry down. It's definitely not an artificial coconut though, it's more creamy. I'm a huge pink pepper fan, so that's an additonal plus. It's not intrusive though. Talking about the dry down: on my skin it dries down slightly nutty-woody with a beautiful and smooth creaminess. In my opinion, or at least on my skin, it seems to be very sensitive to weather and temperature changes, which is a shame, because once it gets a bit warmer, it does behave weakly... a bit annoying. In conclusion I'm very glad that I bought this (expensive!) fragrance and can't wait to try out more by Memo. Even my mum has fallen in love with it and is dying to buy a bottle!

I just purchased this fragrance while at a shop on vacation. I’d visited with a few other scents from the brand in mind but stumbled upon this (wasn’t even on my list) and fell in love. I’ll admit, I’m new to discovering a love for woodier scents so I haven’t tried very many. That being said, I fell in love at first sniff. I was looking for a sexy, date-night scent so I thought I was looking for something more amber-y, floral, and edible. This fragrance is SEXY for a woman in an unexpected way. It’s resinous, slightly sweet, and I definitely pick up on the rose and subtle spiciness. The woods are ever president and settle in the background. This smells to me like a syrupy rose dipped in tree sap... ? This is definitely sexy and definitely a night-time scent unless worn in the colder months. I’ve worn it on its own and layered with gentle fluidity gold, orchide vanille, and un bois vanille. I would love this on a man too. Gorgeous!

I gave Sherwood 3 tries (too many) to make a decision. The conclusion that I've come to, is Sherwood does not know what it wants to be! Is it going to be a sandalwood fragrance? A forest fragrance (but where are the notes of pine, moss, cedar or cypress)? Or is it going to be a floral fragrance because there is a distinct floral note that runs through Sherwood that makes it screechy and somewhat cheap. This fragrance DOES NOT embody the quality that Memo is known for. It's average at best, and is a terrible misstep for the house

UPDATE!!!!!! I didn't like Sherwood when I first tested it. But, I saw it for an unreal steal of deal and grabbed it. And now I can't stop wearing it! Sherwood works so much better on my skin in warmer weather. It's a beautiful CREAMY, floral and sandalwood dream. Longevity and sillage are out of this world and is what I would expect from this price point. It's so addictive!!! Really happy that I gave this fragrance from my absolute favorite house another chance. 💚
