Sherwood unfurls like dawn’s first light through ancient pines. Soft, lithe, yet rich with hidden life. Liqueur-like tannins grounds the cream, soft musks weaving through the grain, supporting the scent’s enveloping caress. No irritating, suffocating sweetness here. Simply this balanced lullaby of resinous warmth and tender florals, a perfume that hugs rather than hugs too tight. After too many encounters with pickle-y, syrupy sandalwoods, Sherwood is a revelation—a milky, woody sanctuary that feels both vernacular and sublime. I may have whispered “finally!” under my breath. A true woodland dream, distilled.

I had bought this fragrance whilst looking for something more for the spring time. I absolutely fell in love with it in the store and I still love the scent. The lady in the store explained the story behind it to me (inspired by the Sherwood forest and the story of Robin Hood) which I could get in the initial spray but to be honest, now that I've worn it countless times, it leans more on a tropical side, but not how you would a imagine a tropical scent. To me I don't get any rose or orange blossom at all but I get a bit of coconut, especially in the dry down. It's definitely not an artificial coconut though, it's more creamy. I'm a huge pink pepper fan, so that's an additonal plus. It's not intrusive though. Talking about the dry down: on my skin it dries down slightly nutty-woody with a beautiful and smooth creaminess. In my opinion, or at least on my skin, it seems to be very sensitive to weather and temperature changes, which is a shame, because once it gets a bit warmer, it does behave weakly... a bit annoying. In conclusion I'm very glad that I bought this (expensive!) fragrance and can't wait to try out more by Memo. Even my mum has fallen in love with it and is dying to buy a bottle!

I just purchased this fragrance while at a shop on vacation. I’d visited with a few other scents from the brand in mind but stumbled upon this (wasn’t even on my list) and fell in love. I’ll admit, I’m new to discovering a love for woodier scents so I haven’t tried very many. That being said, I fell in love at first sniff. I was looking for a sexy, date-night scent so I thought I was looking for something more amber-y, floral, and edible. This fragrance is SEXY for a woman in an unexpected way. It’s resinous, slightly sweet, and I definitely pick up on the rose and subtle spiciness. The woods are ever president and settle in the background. This smells to me like a syrupy rose dipped in tree sap... ? This is definitely sexy and definitely a night-time scent unless worn in the colder months. I’ve worn it on its own and layered with gentle fluidity gold, orchide vanille, and un bois vanille. I would love this on a man too. Gorgeous!

I gave Sherwood 3 tries (too many) to make a decision. The conclusion that I've come to, is Sherwood does not know what it wants to be! Is it going to be a sandalwood fragrance? A forest fragrance (but where are the notes of pine, moss, cedar or cypress)? Or is it going to be a floral fragrance because there is a distinct floral note that runs through Sherwood that makes it screechy and somewhat cheap. This fragrance DOES NOT embody the quality that Memo is known for. It's average at best, and is a terrible misstep for the house

UPDATE!!!!!! I didn't like Sherwood when I first tested it. But, I saw it for an unreal steal of deal and grabbed it. And now I can't stop wearing it! Sherwood works so much better on my skin in warmer weather. It's a beautiful CREAMY, floral and sandalwood dream. Longevity and sillage are out of this world and is what I would expect from this price point. It's so addictive!!! Really happy that I gave this fragrance from my absolute favorite house another chance. 💚

Really enjoying this as a winter fragrance (I’m in Australia) - I first tried it in summer and didn’t work for me, but in the cooler weather it has a beautiful creamy, spicy quality and I definitely get the carrot notes. I also like that it’s quite different from other sandalwood scents in my collection. It’s one of those fragrances that’s really worth trying a few times. One or two sprays of this is enough and it lasts a long time on me - both on skin and clothes.

Sweet, fresh, airy beauty, this scent smells pink, but a kind of soft berry sunset shade pink, more complex than a baby pink or barbie pink. This "pink" goes hand in hand with a warm, cozy and slightly creamy wood. The woody aspect turns the whole experience into a sort of walk through a fairy tale forest (not a realistic damp mossy forest, but one where magical things happen). I got a full bottle, for sure that says how much I love it. The sandalwood gives an opulent aura. It’s very comforting. The sweet delicate woody scent is a love story. I can even imagine Maid Marian under The Major Oak. (I like to describe how perfumes make me feel rather than trying to unravel the notes.)

Soft peachy opening with lots of freshness and some fruity sweetness (watery fruits like lichee). Green and fresh rose but slso bit powdery and spicy (just a bit). In general, it’s an amazing scent. Bravo! Follow me on IG: scent.guide

My first Memo after testing thwm all in the shop. This was the nicest for me. Its different than all the other bottles in my collection, but I dont think it reminds me of a forrest.

I love this perfume. Sherwood is so soft and fluffy and somehow kind of sad. It brings me back to that winter morning when everything has not changed the way it is now.

This is lovely, it kind of reminds me if TF Santal Blush without all the spices had a baby with Santal Majuscule from Serge Lutens. Very smooth. Very nice 👌🏼

The display bottle that I tried has evidently suffered heat damage from being displayed on a lamp that's basically a slow cooker, because this smells nothing like the notes... Still amazing though. My favourite of the Memo's they had on display. From interpreting the notes with what I can smell, I absolutely get a very oriental damask rose, and a warmth from the spice. I was absolutely expecting this to have a tonka bean/vanilla base, as this is a very sweet fragrance to me. Not synthetically sweet, but like a warm crème brûlée. Every now and then I get a light whiff of the floral, and it's entrancing. I'm not getting much typical woodiness in there either. I mean I get it now that I'm looking at the notes, but I wouldn't instinctively classify this as woody. And the sandalwood isn't showing up on me much either, at least not as a pure sandalwood smell. It also doesn't help that I'm not too familiar with cashmeran, but from what I'm fishing from this scent, I think it's there. Again, I think this display bottle got the tanning bed treatment, so blame it on that. Despite the mismatch in what I'm reading from it, and the notes, it's a warm and alluring, yet not trying too hard, but I do have to agree, not the most memorable. Absolutely a day-to-night and date-night scent! Delicious!

Sherwood comes across as soft, powdery, and refined, almost fluffy in texture. The carrot seed amplifies this airy, fluffy feel, making the fragrance warm and comforting from the start. There is a woody undertone, very subtle and sometimes I can't pick it up. Instead, what stands out more is a musky rose and a gentle fruity nuance, both adding to its elegance. Everything feels in moderation—nothing screams or overwhelms. This scent paints a picture in my head of an old black-and-white film: women in long white dresses, pearl necklaces, wide-brimmed hats, and matching heels. It’s got that same sense of grace, poise, and timeless femininity. The overall impression is clean, warm, and cozy—almost laundry-fresh but in the most elegant way possible. Personally, I don’t really pick up on the spices that are supposed to be here, and I think a touch of spice could have given it more flair. Sherwood is a soft, understated fragrance, all about balance and quiet sophistication rather than bold statements, which is welcomed in my collection.

Woody, powdery. A hint of spice like soft, dusty cinnamon in an old drawer. Smells like plain oatmeal with cinnamon sprinkled on top. It veers ever-so-slightly into a pencil shaving smell, but it’s not unpleasant; I suspect the culprit of this is the carrot seed opening. It’s a sophisticated, but reserved scent. Great for really any season, but feels best for a professional setting. Not joyous enough for a holiday or celebration, not somber enough for a funeral. Just a neutral, everyday, inoffensive scent. Rewear: when I first sprayed this, I definitively got pencil shavings as the opening accord. As time passed though, this became more lovely and pleasant. Fantastic office scent, but otherwise, a bit underwhelming.

At first, the rose comes up strong, which I don't appreciate particularly. Only later, it becomes round, soft and balmy, powdery which makes it rather chic. Quite feminine, and I would say not highly original or niche. It is not like I have never smelled this type of perfume in my life and I understand how other commenters refer to designer brands. I have a strong liking towards Memo Paris (one of my top favourite brands) and I have a sample of many of their perfumes. I do not recognise the Memo signature in this perfume. Some persons recognise Gris Charnel by BDK in it. I would yes, but from far and without the rose. I love Gris Charnel and I cherish my bottle. Sherwood however I will not wear.

A very smooth and delicate sandalwood fragrance. I don' t like the green note in the opening (that I suppose is carrot seeds) because It reminds me of boiled vegetables, but it is short lived. There is also a fair amount of pepper. Once said notes are gone I get a mix of sandalwood, musk, floral notes. Everything is very balanced and has a "caressing" and relaxing feeling. Being this a quiet fragance, I get what people mean when they say It is not striking, but at the same time, I am sucker for sandalwood and I have not smelled anything that really resmbles this. I have finished my sample and I find myself cravig a travel size.

Ok, I'm revising my review... I wasn't impressed at first - thought it was a typical tart, fruity floral - smelled like shampoo to me. But it's so easy to wear - very beautiful, creamy, lightly sweet and fruity, very non-offensive. It's kind of like "Nuit de Cellophane" by Serge Lutens - not so much in terms of scent profile, but in terms of the "type" of sweetness. They don't smell alike by any means, but they do remind me of each other. Scent: growing on me... Projection: strong Longevity: average Polarity: feminine

Opens musky and dry wood Soon taken over with soft aromatic spice of the carrot seed that is also adding a rooty vagetable like note to it As it dries down it become more floral and soft, not so much spicy anymore If anything, the cashmeran and musk mellow it down a bit It still remains a bit powdery dry woody and slightly rooty along with florals

It’s... nice. I’m surprised that it has such polarized reviews, to me it’s a white shirt - nice, elegant, but could be a bit boring. Sandalwood is definitely here but it’s also a bit floral. Reminds me a lot of Sea Daffodil, which I own so it won’t be a FB for me. But it’s a nice elegant spring fragrance.

The dry down is absolutely wonderful, soft and creamy sandalwood. Unfortunately the journey to take you there isn’t as good: quite “generic” rose, fresh and nice but falls a little flat. Now I’m really curious to try Inverness to see what else Memo has in stock with sandalwood.

Gorgeous scent. Initial rose and spices fade into cozy almost lactonic, sandal wood. Backbone similar to Orto Parisi Seminalis. Less sweet, much less animalic. Easy, surrounding with comfort. Men can wear.

Well, I don't know if it is just the day, but this makes me feel pretty, oh so pretty... so joyous, gay , and new (are those the lyrics?). Okay, well pretty in a light floral woody way, which is what I got testing this blind. But to call this woody feels like a calling a peach dark fruit, it isn't. Until seeing the notes I thought this was a powdery violet and iris floral with a hint, a hint, of woodsy. All the wood suggested in the notes leaves me a bit lost in the woods. And forget about cashmeran, carrot seeds, spicy notes, etc. I'm pretty much getting the light rose, a hint of orange blossom, and sure a bit of pink pepper. It lands undoubtedly feminine enough to consider a cute spring dress, not a cream linen suit. And while the projection was moderate and the longevity good, forget the forest, you're in a airy meadow with delicate roses, and a spritz of of black current and orange blossom sweetness. I would say save it for the races, but at this price point I'd rather wood chuck it, if a wood chuck, could chuck wood.

I was looking forward to trying this fragrance, given all the hype it receives. I purchased sizable decants of Sherwood, along with six other Memo-Paris fragrances. To my surprise and from the various samples I tried, Sherwood is a likeable and pleasant enough fragrance but not the love I hoped it might be. Not sure what's going on but I suppose the note that feels "foreign" or strange-ish to my nose is the carrot seed note emerging from an otherwise spicy, peppery, woody opening. At times, the most prominent opening note smells bitter and fringes on smelling sour. There's definitely peppery notes but I do not find the peppery notes harsh, or overpowering, or unbearable. The base notes develop as listed...woody, unoffensive notes. There's a hint of rose, I suppose. Longevity is fair at 2-3 hours and silage is minimal. Not what I thought it would be. For me, I'm not a fan at this point.

A floral-y, shampoo-y sandalwood. If you're torn between the creaminess of sandalwood, and the freshness of florals, this is a good option. I get 0 resemblance to Lost Alice or Versace Black Crystal - both of those two are very spicy lactonic fragrances to me. This is neither spicy, not lactonic. This is creamy and fresh, smells more designer than niche but it does smell of high quality (in proper Memo fashion). This is youthful, feminine, and if you're looking for an introductory niche scent (or you just want a niche fragrance but actually like designer perfumes more) then this is a good option. For me it's a pass, not unique enough and really nothing special. If you're looking for a creamy floral from Memo (and don't mind a powdery, tropical twist) go for Lalibela instead (for the record this has 0 resemblance to Lalibela).

What's predominant for me here is a sweetness...the blackcurrent mixed with rose/florals? There's a touch of pepper/spice, the woods show up yet stay in the background...all is beautifully blended but is nothing more than a pleasant very feminine "classic perfume" experience to me - sweet creamy soft florals. I'm not getting any "forest" or green or fresh crisp wood or crisp spice...which I admit I was expecting more of. But again, my expectations aside, I don't get any "forest" here. Sweet juicy and floral is king of Sherwood. I'm ready to scrub it off my arm in fact, because it's going syrupy sweet which is not my thing. On the drydown it becomes very soft and charmingly cozy. I almost blind-bought this, so glad I did not and bought a discovery set instead.

Sherwood is a nice and soft fragrance if you like woody scents. I would probably call this scent Cheriwood. It's like when you lift the bark of a tree, a sweet spicy resin smell comes out. The last tone is a creamy soft scent. It is a long-lasting and impressive scent compared to other Memos I have tried. However, I would consider buying it when it goes on sale. Edit: I'm updating my review because I don't think it's entirely correct. This perfume started to seem too sweet to me later on. It's like someone poured jam on the bark. Black currant might be responsible for this. I'm not very good with this note. Then it started to annoy me :( I'm glad I didn't buy it...

This one is interesting. Sherwood starts off green and woody, as nothing special and quite the disappointment as I don’t get any blackcurrant which I love, carrot or orange blossom for the first hour. Then it gets sweeter as it settles and the sweetness from the orange blossom becomes more prominent. Besides from that it is quite difficult to identify what it is I am smelling. It reminds me of the scent of a grown woman when I was a child, which is probably why I keep thinking that I don’t feel mature enough for this scent. Pleasant enough unisex scent which is a mix of woody, sweet, powdery and spicy, but not for me.

My review won’t be very informative. I just want to share the feelings that are gnawing at me. This is the original perfume sample. I applied it, inhaled - and a deep sadness came over me. It feels like a scent from the past, but I can’t remember where, who, or what might have smelled like this (or under what circumstances). Perhaps someone once had a similar perfume, or maybe it smelled this way in someone’s home. But when I inhale it, I feel a heart-wrenching melancholy. I still haven’t been able to remember where I know this scent from or why it evokes such emotions. To me, it is nothing like Amouage’s Guidance.

There is nothing "Sherwood Forest" here. It's much more the tropics. I bought a sample, largely because I find the Maël Nozahic watercolors so attractive in its promotion. Sherwood is different from Memo's general fare of heavy patchouli/oud/what-have-you scents. This one actually feels wet. And more floral than you might think. It's ok, but no way would I drop $310 for 75ml of this.

I bought a full bottle blindly, and I’m slightly regretting that. It is very rosy and woody, which is a lovely combination if you love an old rose scent w/lots of (sandal) wood. But I was hoping for more carrot seed, spices and orange blossom. Unfortunately, not much of that reaches my nose, because the rose is far too prominent. Alas.

This is nice. However I'm mostly getting an orange blossom, white floral. Yes, it's pretty but what happened to the strong, sexy sandalwoods of the 60s, 70s & even 80s. My mind is 100% open to new suggestions. What we have on the market today cannot possibly reflect what's available, right !?!?

I can pick up on the slight spices in the opening and the carrot seed. The opening is not for me. It's noticeable enough to be off putting for me though so it's an immediate no for me. The overall air/sillage is more fresh, smooth, and slightly fruity. But my skin and the carrot seed in the opening do not mesh well. Definitely not blind buy safe!

I get a sample as a gift from Memo Paris and I've to say that this is not my fragrance. Probably it will be a perfect choice for people who love woody, powder y fragrances. It's long lasting with good sillage. It reminds me a lot to "This is her" by Zadig & Voltaire.

This reminds me of Zara Energetically New York, which is of course a totally different price point. The main difference for me is Memo’s longevity. Not a fan of those 2 though. I guess Sandalwood is not meant for me

I don’t like this, just not my sort of scent profile, I get a spiciness that smells green. Ugh. It reminds me of Initio Musk Therapy. Unique smelling and obviously niche.

I found a sample of this in my bag and sprayed one or maybe two sprays randomly on my clothes near my shoulder. My God did I regret it. It is nauseatingly creamy thick. Not just smelling it, I could TASTE it every few seconds. Bonus points for the fact that I couldn’t get rid of it after over 6+ hours of wear and everyone who joined me on the car ride back hours later also wanted to puke. If you like creamy, thick, slightly spicy, very sweet, scents, this may be for you. It gave me the same nausea that the sweetness of Khamra and Oriana (Parfum de Marly) gave me a few months ago and the bottles were given away immediately.

I only get carrot seeds. Really glad it was a free sample. Edit: Six hours in and it’s still here. By Gods, it’s bad. Water and soap didn’t help so now I’ve sprayed it over with L’Interdit... Edit: 11 hours in. L’Interdit has faded and Sherwood’s still here. By now I find it sickening. It just won’t leave me alone!!

I can’t stress this enough, it’s just carrot seed. It’s really unappealing to me. There are some creamy woody undertones, but it’s really just all carrot, all the time. They should be fined for what they did to a good name for a perfume.

Like a cheap version of Black Orchid. Not good. Also, as others have said, heavy coconut.

Hello. Recently, I purchased about a dozen samples, the descriptions of the scent profiles were of interest to me. Most of these particular fragrances and brands are not all easily conventiently found in retail stores near me, although I live in the metropolitan New York city area. I plan to review the scents I've chosen. This one is #7 in my sample box. Carrot seeds, carrots, this is definitely present in the first spritz, staying damp and vegetal for a few minutes at first. It really smells like a freshly sliced carrot with a quickly emerging floral note. On my skin, I found this interesting and pleasantly different, the carrots being the different part and the floral notes quite familiar. I see orange blossom listed in the notes, and that is what really steps forward in this fragrance and remains front and center even several hours later. I'm sad I can't smell the rose though. After about ten minutes on my skin, this fragrance was very floral. White florals really take over fragrances to my nose, so often I avoid them. I wish I could pick up on more sandalwood and pink pepper in this fragrance, but the orange blossom is in the way. That being said, I can still smell the carrot for the first hour or two as the fragrance dries down, but it is less vegetal, blending nicely with the florals. I'm finding the dry down to be pleasant and feminine mostly clean white florals. Very pretty, and the carrot note makes it interesting. In the world of unisex fragrances, I find this one to be quite feminine because of the way the white florals push their way to the front of the presentation for me. I like it and could wear it because it's orange blossom, not jasmine and it's well blended enough to not become cloying.

To moja pierwsza styczność z tą marką i jej zapachami. Dostałam solidną próbkę do zakupów. Czytam, że ten zapach miał oddawać aromat lasu Robin Hooda. Yhym. Początek jest koperkowo-ziołowy, być może tak pachną nasiona marchwi lecz gdy siałam ją w ogródku to nie pamiętam takiego aromatu(czasem za takie wrażenie odpowiada Drzewo sandałowe). Bardziej przypomina te duże liście dojrzałego kopru. Ale to trwa tylko chwilkę także nie przywiązuję się do tego przelotnego akordu. Mamy tu w kolejnej odsłonie duet różowy pieprz-róża. Pieprz nie dominuje, a z kwiatów bardziej czuję pomarańczę. Jest słodko jakby migdałowo trochę mdło ale czy leśnie w tym klasycznym ujęciu? Wątpię. Sherwood - czyste drewno? No widzę, że Juliettę poniosła fantazja trochę. Zapraszam do Polskich lasów, gdzie czuć wilgotną ściółkę, grzybnię, wilgotność na jesieni lub suchość trzaskających gałązek pod stopami w lecie. Upojny zapach igliwia w lasach Białego Zdroju.....Być może lasy Sherwood tak pachną, nie wiem nie byłam ale myślę po tych perfumach co za dziwne lasy w tej Anglii rosną. Gospodarzem tego lasu nie jest Dąb (ON) a (ONA) Róża. Zapach jest mocny, duszący, projektujący, trwały, dla mnie trochę migrenowy ale z kategorii kwiatowych. Gdyby był cichszy z chęcią bym go nosiła.

I thought I would love it, was so close to blind buying. Tried it on skin and paper and it’s a huge no!!! I’ve watched and read every single review. I was under the impression that it’s a fresh sandalwood, a bit sweet/creamy, maybe shampooey or a little niche/complex... maybe a sandalwood similar to this is her by zadig ... I hate writing bad reviews but I can’t stand it. Smells outdated, it does lean sweeter rather than fresh. I do get sandalwood but it smells musty!! Like the old ladies at church. A bit rubbery/a bit like the fluoride dentists put on ur teeth after a cleaning. I love memo, but this isn’t for me. I usually love anything sandalwood since it my favorite note, I’ve tried so many. This is a hard pass ! Please sample

Can't wait to try! Notes look promising, I hope it will be powdery and spicy wood. Sadly it will be launched only at Feb/March. Update: It was launched and I already purchased the whole bottle. At first "sniff" I thought wow, I got soooo fooled by the notes and smell, it doesn't felt like I'm having the bottle of Memo in my hands. At first it was so flowery that I couldn't stand it. Then it got more and more pleasant. Cashmeran, oak and a bit of spices took the higher projection and I started loving it. The scent is so cozy and I really love it. P.S. Quite sad that Memo increased prices of all perfumes from Jan 1 though. Like Happy New Year.

I sprayed this on my arm in store with no expectations and went about my day. Then I started to really enjoy the wafts of sandalwood which surprised me because it's not my favorite note, it often comes off like bug spray to me. Anyway I went back and got a sample which I've tried twice now. Unfortunately there's a spice in there that smells like cumin to my nose which bothers me. I love the other notes, they're so soft and creamy together! I just can't get over the cumin smell.

Fantastic Fragrance. Smells like slightly fruity slightly sweet body cream but in the best way possible. Longevity is fantastic for this type of scent. I get 8 Hours easily. Usually softer sandalwood scents are gone with 4 hours on my skin. Some similarities to Lost Alice by masque Milano. Leans a bit feminine but I am a man and love wearing this.

Starts really fruity and fresh, calms down into a balmy sandalwood. Quite soft on the drydown but I do have a cold so I will test again. I'm loving the rose element, which is just there amongst the fruits not too strong. Good one from Memo. Second testing. Rubbery leatherbomb. Noses are strange!

Lots of clean sandalwood, cashmeran and wood. Flowers in the middle brighten the composition and spices give some interest. Not gourmand, but sweet floral. That being said it smells very simple, clean and designer like. Good for office and running errands, but not a memorable scent.

It was not love at first spray. I really tried to like it but just couldn't get into it. The only memo perfume that had an unpleasant scent DNA. I bought it from Costco online. Swapped it for another memo perfume. Thank goodness that one is ok 👍.
