Sintra

So this was an enemies to lovers romance for sure! Ordered a sample online and at first the green note almost made me think I wouldn't like this fragrance....ALMOST. The strength of that green note fades rather quickly and then blends out into this beautiful warm, marshmallow orange blossom that's absolutely divine. It's absolutely stunning. It's definitely too warm and cozy for my climate in the summer (hot, humid, south) so I can't imagine it being a summertime fragrance -- only fall and winter for me -- but maybe for someone in a cooler environment. It's absolutely beautiful. I definitely recommend ordering a sample and giving it some time before making a decision because I've grown to love everything about it including the green note. I smelled this and Oriana side by side and I do not think they smell the same at all other than that they are both warm and sweet. I do not own LDBS and have only smelled it on a blotter at the fragrance counter so I can't comment on that one, but I'm ordering a sample before I purchase a full bottle of this because I want to do a side-by-side before I purchase a full bottle. I absolutely love Sintra though, it smells elegant and feminine (doesn't read masculine to me at all), and I will totally buy a full bottle unless LDBS blows me away. Update: Got in my sample of LDBS from Killian and initially I don't think they smell much alike at all, it's in the dry down that they start smelling similar -- after a few hours LDBS starts smelling like a weaker version of Sintra. But the top notes and mid notes of LDBS aren't really that similar to me. I understand why people would compare the two scents -- It just takes LDBS a lot longer to get there and Sintra has much better longevity and projection. If you don't mind the green note at the top of Sintra, I definitely think it's the superior fragrance in the dry down. Plus they end up being the around the same price if you order Sintra from Twisted Lily with a 15% off code. (They send you a discount on a full bottle whenever you purchase samples.) I just purchased a full bottle of Sintra and absolutely cannot wait for it to get here! I find myself not wanting to wear anything else b/c I only want to smell this all the time. It's more than likely going to end up being my Winter signature scent. I can understand why people feel like owning both Sintra and LDBS is redundant, but it's obvious that there are enough differences for people to feel so strongly towards one the other. For better or worse, it's the green note in Sintra that makes or breaks this fragrance. Try them both! Update 2: Did a side-by-side of Sintra/LDBS/Oriana Here's my thoughts: Sintra – the green note in the top sets it apart for better or worse, the dry down is almost exactly the same as LDBS with more longevity and projection. It also moves through the top/mid-notes really quickly (the sharpness of the green note is gone in 10minutes for me, and after 20 it’s so stunning) so you get the beautiful dry down for the bulk of your wear. LDBS – The top and mid notes aren’t my favorite, the dry down is where it’s at with this fragrance but it takes FOREVER to get there. If you smell a blotter of Sintra/LDBS after 10-24 hours its almost exact, Sintra is just stronger. You either love the journey of this fragrance or you don’t. Oriana – It’s the delicate and powdery version of the dry down of both Sintra/LDBS. It is not as distinct. I understand why the comparison but I feel like the similarity floats in the background weaving in and out through it as opposed to being the main show. At the end of the day Sintra is my pick. Oriana would be my second choice. I can’t imagine myself ever buying LDBS. But these are all beautiful in very different ways, and although I don’t necessarily think they are redundant, I can understand why someone would only want one of these in their collection. I think if you like one of them, definitely sample all three next to each other before deciding which one you prefer. I can see why they are all popular and I think one of these could fit almost any nose/personality.

I don't know what to say except "WOW." This perfume was on my ultimate wishlist for years since I first started collecting niche fragrances. And today I finally own a full bottle! (It took long as it is not easy to find in my country except having to travel and I was just a broke fresh undergrad who couldn't afford it back then lol) I feel like my life is complete and my mental war is finally over. It may sound funny but when I received the bottle in the mail, I actually had tears in my eyes and my hands were just shaking. When I first opened and sprayed on myself and had a sniff, I knew this is not just a perfume, but it is ART to me. I can get why people said it's similar to Love, Don't Be Shy especially the drydown, but I would want to call it 'LDBS if it's not suffocating and actually slays' lol. The thing is, I cannot tolerate the sweetness of LDBS cuz of how sickly sweet it is. I was also scared that I would feel the same way towards Sintra, but I was wrong. It's just a fresher, greener, creamier, and less sweet version of LDBS. I don't see myself making it a signature scent as it's probably not suitable for the weather here. However, it's still so close to my heart and I wish to only use it on special occasions when I'm surrounded by people that are close to my heart. It just means a lot to me. I know some people might think what it gives doesn't really justify the price, but to me, it's worth everything ❤️

This is such an interesting perfume. I’m confused at how much it’s being compared to Oriana and LDBS because I have all three and Sintra to me doesn’t smell like either of them, sure all of them have a strong orange blossom note but so do many other fragrances. Sintra is it’s own perfume. It’s more aromatic and green than I usually prefer but it has enough sweet notes that makes this the perfect summer fragrance for me, it’s too fresh and citrusy for me to ever wear it in the cold months. Is it worth 250$ +? No, but I was lucky enough that I got it on an amazing discount so I paid less than half of the original price. The first spray is quite bitter and green but surprisingly it doesn’t bother me considering i’m a huge sweet gourmand enthusiast. The petitgrain and bergamot are super strong in the first 10 minutes, after an hour it settles into a more sweet, citrusy orange blossom scent. There’s something very childish and innocent about this perfume. It brings me back to my childhood and makes me think of summer afternoons, sitting in the grass and eating a popsicle, which is how this perfume smells to me. Also reminds me of old school kids shampoos. It’s kinda funny to think that a perfume that smells so juvenile would be so costly but I guess it’s good that they make perfumes that cater to different preferences.

I adore Sintra. It's definitely an interesting fragrance, which is partly why I like it, and I can see why the strong pettigrain in the open can be a turn off. I personally enjoy pettigrain, but it's quite strong on first spray. The beauty of Sintra is in the dry down. The marshmallow and caramel combo sounds like it would be overwhelmingly cloying, but it dries to a much softer, creamy sweetness. The pettigrain is still there to ground it, the cinnamon adds a savory aspect, and of course the neroli and orange blossom share the stage with the sweet notes. These are some of my fave notes and I think this blend is wonderful, somehow alluring in its uniqueness until it quiets into a sweeter softness. I'm a sucker for orange blossom, so it's no surprise I like Sintra! It's a gorgeous spring bouquet, and brings back memories of my own visit to this charming Portuguese town a few years ago. I know the reviews below are mixed to comical in reaction to this fragrance, so it's definitely not for everyone! But I really love Sintra and am so happy to own a full bottle, esp in the more colorful, tiled design (I'm so bummed by the new packaging). I am excited to wear it on late spring/summer evenings for some bright sweetness, and also in the fall for a more cozy vibe

A gourmet fantasy with a twist. The blast of petitgrain and orange blossom with some very distant, but still present berries and cedar, after you spray it, is very strong. After a few moments, it vanishes, leaving a sheer veil of bitterness. And then it's like you're in a Middle-Eastern sweets shop. It doesn't smell exactly like marshmallow to me, but more like a mix of sweets like tahini halva, locum and baklava. Very sugary, with a noticeable caramel. And then it combines with a very sweet note of a dry milk candy. That candy with light petitgrain and orange blossom lasts on me for around 10-12 hours, and on clothes for a few days. The milk candy note is prominent and exceptionally sweet. Strangely, men around me usually found it more appealing, than women. And be careful, that if you wear clothes from natural wool or fur, it will blend with their smell, creating a distinctive animalistic aura around you. Personally, I love it, but I see why it might be disliked. As of seasons, I think it performs ok during every weather and temperature. Very sweet in summer, a little sharp in winter, but nevertheless it is recognizable throughout the year and remains pleasant if you like it in general.

I cannot recall my original reaction to Memo Paris Sintra when I first tested it back in 2022. I imagine it was unremarkable 'cause I never posted a review. THIS: Sintra and Flam. If I had to live with only 4-5 floral fragrances for the next 5 years, SIntra and Flam would be two of those fragrances!! Oh and African Rose, of course!! This time around, I really love this stuff. In some ways, Sintra reminds me of Liquides Imaginaires "Blanche Bete." THIS is what I hoped Blanche Bete might be. Sintra is a pretty, white floral (primarily orange blossom) fragrance with a creamy, slightly bitter, vanilla, cedar and musk backdrop. The neroli, jasmine, ROSE and orange blossom give Sintra a lovely middle accord...full-on floral bouquet. The fragrance's development is tempered with slight bitterness from the petitgrain, musk, woods and resins. I never really experience anything marshmallow, or caramel, etc in the drydown. The base notes are primarily beautiful & creamy florals (orange blossom, jasmine & rose), petit grain, vanilla, cedar and musk. And I sprayed a bit on my skin about 5-6 hours back; the scent is just starting to fade. LOVE! It's gorgeous! Will never be without this perfume...

I couldn't imagine better time testing this fragrance than in the middle of darkest winter when you're wondering whether the sun still exists. (Winter in Finland is that dark.) I don't usually get this emotional when smelling a perfume, but somehow this perfume gives me impressions of sun, happiness and hope. Orange blossom in general is a very happy and optimistic note for me and that's exactly what I seem to need right now. Due to Sintra's milky sweetness I don't find it particularly summery and fun, but rather comforting and warming like the first rays of sun after long winter. To me this perfume smells like a combination of Elie Saab Le Parfum EdT and Love by Kilian, former being my signature scent back in 2012 and evoking nice memories. Usually perfumes with distinctive orange blossom note tend to get too musky for my taste in the dry down, however in this one I find the dry down very very nice maybe due to the perfume's added sweetness and milkiness. I don't find this perfume terribly unique, but to me it's so comforting that I may need to buy a bottle.

Words cannot express how much I adore this perfume. It really took me by surprise. I can definitely see the similarities between this and LDBS, and agree that this does have a slightly bitter and green opening, but I love that as it gives the fragrance a bit of bite. That stage doesn't last long though, after about half hour I can start to pick up the milk and marshmallow notes and it starts smelling more creamy, whilst retaining just the right amount of green throughout. This is definitely a perfume of two halves, and I love both of them! The longevity and sillage on this are incredible. I love spraying this around my neck area as every time I move my head I am treated to wafts of beautiful creamy but green orange blossom all day and it just puts me in such a good mood. I originally bought 10ml blindly as didn't want to to commit to a full bottle until I had tested it properly. I am not even half way through that yet but I just ordered a 75ml bottle. I don't ever want to be without this.

the green opening is divine, like trimming the stems of fresh flowers. the green elevates this into a classy,sexy mature fragrance.chic in a bottle. and of course the fragrace settles into a gorgeous vanilla, caramel powdered mashmallow. a hint of cinnamon lingering in the back. the woodyness of the dry down prevents this from becoming juvinile sweet. strong sillage. comparisions to other marshmallow scents: I love gourmands and orange blossom. i own sintra, oriana and love dont be shy. yes they all have orange blossom but they are all distinct and you can tell them apart from each other. love dont be shy - sweetest of all three, marshmallow covered in powdered sugar. light. tinkerbell. oriana - raspberry marshmallow, most dense of the three. girls night out. sintra - flower stems/woody and marshmallows. freshest and classiest of all three. office siren. i dont have a favourite, they all serve different purposes in my fragrance wardobe. In saying that, I would buy all three again.

You walk out to your balcony in Seville, the orange blossom, the azahar flower, floats through the air. The sun hits ever so slightly, a slightly cool breeze grazes your arms as you place a cold glass of milk on a table, you pour sugar in it, you drop a marshmallow, stir and drink. You rub your fingers together to get the mashmallow dust off of them. It begins to smell like summer. Gorgeous fragrance, very orange blossom heavy, sweet jasmine, sugary milk, marshmallow dust. Very lactonic. Monstrous, and I mean monstrous, performance. I left a test strip in a paper bag and as I was walking down the street I could feel the scent coming out of it, I left the bag on a table last night and when I woke up my whole room smelt like Sintra. Holds up incredibly, projects like crazy. It is very very sweet but I find it not cloying as I always associate orange blossom and neroli with lighter scents, still I'd advise to test it first as I agree It could be toothache-inducing sweet.

You probably already heard this, but you need to wait for the dry down with this perfume to really see the beauty of it. I hated the opening. It is a blast of sour, green, loud Petitgrain in your face. I couldn't understand how people could love this perfume! I gave it a while and continued with my day. And all of a sudden, I get this gorgeous GORGEOUS whiff of something sweet, fluffy, dreamy, creamy... Almost Candy like, but sophisticated. It was the dry down of this perfume, it is pure ART. Just like its bottle (I am obsessed with how this bottle looks, even though I only own a decant - for now!). No one has mentioned this, but this is like a mix of Si Fiori (must be the Neroli) with the marshmallow goodness of Love Don't be Shy and hint of something fresh and clean. It is also a little bit musky, it is creamy and smells just like the colors of the bottle and the juice inside. I'm in love.

this is my first impression of sintra and DAMN, i think i love her. i just received a sample and upon first spritz i am smitten. i’ve been on the hunt for a sexy neroli forward gourmand for years, and sintra might just be it. the first blast: strong, warm, sweet and very citrusy. almost like you left some orange starburst in a hot car. a few minutes in: went a teensy bit medicinal on me, but not in a cough syrup way. more of a natural food co-op’s herbal supplements aisle. easing into the dry down: i’m still enjoying the zing of neroli but fully feeling the vanilla and marshmallow hug my skin. i can see this working in both cold and warm weather. i’m finding it hella reminiscent of one of my favorite limited edition 2010’s holiday lush offerings- the golden wonder bath bomb and/or “celebrate” lotion.

If LDBS is pretty woman from rich family with quiet luxury life style, then Sintra is her older sister who alredy earn her stripes. It opens with greenish petitgrain and then it dries with initial citrus-y vibe. After 10 minutes-ish, the caramel and marshmallow comes through and it stays through the time it is on my skin. Like her little sister, she doesnt stay all night long, 5 hours and it started to dissapear completely. Eventhough it projects better than LDBS, it still not exceed arms length distance, not necessarily smelled one meter away. After all, it is pricey but since the projection is a little better than LDBS, and the petitgrain is an opener put a strong pioneer on the first spray, it is worth more than LDBS and more mature than LDBS.

Extremely high quality parfum with SO much essence and potent. It has its own round year; opening can be very greeny/herbalistic, but scent lives very beautyfully and interestingly throught sunny orangetrees and royal Neroli-scenes to the mermaid-barbie-sweet Marshmallow and milky toffee layer, where its stays and balanced itself.. In the ground and the edges there is this calming (light) woodines. And a little bit of a spice, too. Its very feminine - but with auchtority! This can be used in office, if leaved to 1-2 sprays. ITS really strong with sillage and lasting. After her, I am totally looking for other Memo scents too.

I didn’t realize when I sprayed this I was choosing to forever smell like Sintra. This girl clings in the most beautiful way. I am an avid Love Don’t Be Shy wearer and I own Oriana. This perfume I find is more niche with its heavy Petit Grain note. I enjoy the note. It reminds me of the men’s department in the Hudson’s department store. The dry down is the best part it is heavily sweet like the ice cream shop that was adjacent to the men’s department. I also am able to pick up the floral aspect which attempts to balance the heavy sweetness but for me it doesn’t it just adds to its depth.

I got this as a sample and initially 30 seconds in I thought this perfume was okay. The initial smell I got was orange blossom which is weird because it’s not in the perfume notes. A couple of minutes later I kept smelling my wrist because it smelled so good! As the perfume sits, the caramel, floral and sweet notes blend together so harmoniously it’s was hard to distinguish them. The floral to me was the most dominant though. I just bought the full size! I think this perfume would be amazing for summer and spring. It kind of reminds me of Lira Xerjoff in terms of its sweetness.

I so prefer this to LDBS & Oriana; yes there are similarities but this is a completely different fragrance. More unique, more complex, more interesting. It's not obvious. I love the green petigrain and néroli, and the resinous edge that doesn't let the marshmallow take over. It's what keeps it from being saccharine, and gives it some ... I don't know what other word to use besides edge? Super sophisticated, unexpected, and not too gourmand. Neroli milk, resinous vanilla, orange blossom... it's spectacular. A white floral you can wear in cold months. So beautiful.

Ordered a sample set from the Memo website. I only read what they said about the fragrances on their website and thought Sintra might be a good one. I was wrong, it's a great one. Out of the seven samples this was the one I had to get straight away(others were great too). It's a comforting and sweet, yet bright and lively. It has a wonderful lactonic caramel quality with citrus that I absolutely love. The votes say it leans feminine, but this is perfectly unisex for me. It just smells edible and different. Wear this and you will stand out.

The final drydown contrasts the opening, and is where Sintra really shines. She transforms into a gorgeous vanilla-caramel gourmand that’s grounded by the cedar and lightened up by the marshmallow notes. I feel reviewers drawing the LDBS comparisons are solely focusing on the opening. They are two completely different fragrances after the initial sprays settle in. I would actually eat something that smelled like Sintra. Safe to own both IMO if you like vanillic gourmands. Should be rated much higher particularly on the dry down, 4.5/5.

I have ldbs and while I do love it I hate wearing it sometimes bc it turns into something sickly and annoying. But ohhh Sintra is like it’s well blended fraternal twin. The well behaved sibling. And the milk note ughhh I love it. I got a sample and immediately got a full bottle after not being able to stop smelling. While I do agree that the green note in this is loud it blends out so well. I love how creamy, sweet and girly it smells. I could see this being someone’s signature. Please Sintra don’t fail me

If you have ever smelled Love Don’t Be Shy by Kilian, Sintra carries similar notes but is fluffier, more airy, slightly less sweet, less spicy and more suitable for all occasions and seasons. Sintra is also heavier on the orange blossom with prominent lactonic notes. It is still very much a gourmand, so this is for the sweet lovers out there. This fragrance is on the mass appealing side of niche and it will not surprise me if this gains major popularity. High quality fragrance with great longevity.

This is like if Lush's Orange Blossom and Love Don't Be Shy had a baby, it has that almost-medicinal syrupy orangey opening and gets progressively sweeter as it develops. On me this even smells better after wearing it for a bit and sweating (kind of gross, I know but it almost just melts into your skin.) This is really, really gourmand and sickly but in the best way possible, I find that the opening is more green but you instantly get that caramel-orange sweetness come through. I love this.

OMG!!! Finally I find the perfect orange blossom parfume!!! It is pure LOVE with the first impression of petitgrain as they dances with the dry vanilla and the beautifule neroli! It is really a dream!!! Perfectly balanced masterpiece! The whole Coposition gives me an instant Happiness in theese rainy days and brings me back to the beautifule mediterran summertime. Longevity is 10+ hours ans illage is also good. If you are orange blossom lover please give it a try, absolutely FB worthy!

This scent is absolutely gorgeous. If you love orange blossom and gourmands, this marries the two so well. It's fresh and floral/orange blossom in the opening, but then it dries down to this addictive caramel marshmallow vanilla that's still not too sweet. It has incredible lasting power as well. I sprayed some on my wrist over my watch band at the beginning of the week and could still catch whiffs of it at the end of the week on my watch.

this is my signature!! it’s expensive but it’s sooo worth it. beautiful fragrance, it’s what i wanted LBDS to be (i like LBDS too, but it’s more vanilla heavy to my nose with a strong dose of civet whereas in sintra the orange blossom and marshmallow really shine through). it also lasts all day with a delicious bubble of scent i can get whiffs of throughout the day. very nostalgic, reminds me of being a child in the summertime 10/10

the orange blossom in this is to Die for...... if love don't be shy is the girl next door, sintra is her sophisticated older sister who's studying art or fashion or some other such chicness abroad (marshmallow note comes through beautifully in the dry down for me—sprayed some in my hair and woke up the next day to the sweetest vanilla-marshmallow goodness all over my lover's pillow. a make them miss you scent for sure)

It's interesting: it's loud, hard to ignore, but it's also very tender and cozy. It's extremely sweet, a neroli blast followed by a symphony of notes. Marshmallow is very present. I wear it when I need some comfort: I like to spray it on a cozy sweater that I can sniff throughout the day. I wouldn't personally wear it regularly, as it is too sweet and too strong for me, but it is a very creative and pleasant fragrance.

A BETTER LDBS. Neroli heavy but balanced beautifully with laconic creaminess that makes it a floral gourmand. I really like this a lot. Reminds me of Neroli Portofino without the aquatic notes. I guess if you had both LDBS and neroli portofino you could layer them to get something similar to Sintra. I will be purchasing this (or at least a decent decant) at some point to wear as a spring and summer fragrance.

I love Sintra but I did not repurchase it! It's beautiful but it's just way too sweet. I can feel the caramel note the most. It's beautiful though. It's very sugary sweet, intense, and I do feel the citrusy notes too. For me, this perfume has a similar "vibe" as Kilian Love, don't be shy. It stands in the same exact universe, with similar projection and atmosphere. It's sexy and intense, very femenine.

This is one of my absolute favorite fragrances. I love me a good milk marshmallow scent and although this can be close to LDBS, it isn't as sickly sweet. I also own Oriana, which I love but is definitely different. This also last ages on my clothes and skin! Orange Blossom is definitely present as well. Such a gorgeous and elegant fragrance!

I am obsessed with this after wearing for a bit. This is the most expensive perfume I've ever purchased for myself and honestly I am not regretting it at all. It smells sooooo good. It's not even my typical scent profile of choice but I get so many compliments when I wear it that I don't care. I just enjoy smelling good.

Hands down my favorite perfume. A beast of beautiful fluffy layers. This is a neroli lovers heaven. It creates this amazing cloud of scent and lasts for hours. Classy and feminine and fresh and cozy. She is the Lady. Seriously, Devotion is a second cousin at best. LDBS is a little sister.

This is a beautiful, sweet fragrance. The most outstanding thing to me is that it lasts AGES and projects just as long. I'll spray this once in the morning and catch whiffs of it all day, even into the evening. No other fragrance I've tried has that kind of lasting power. Just incredible.

I'm a guy and I like to rock this. Creamy jasmine tea is what this fragrance reminds me of. Somehow, this fragrance remind me of thai tea, the sweetness and the floral facet from the jasmine, really gives of a thai tea vibes. Don't overspray because this last 8+ hours easily with 3 sprays

Definitely prefer this to LDBS, not as cloying or linear and Sintra has a bit more depth. My fave neroli /orange blossom scent and one of hubby's but he prefers Ruby N Vanilla-Neroli. I've also layered Sintra with Bianco Latte and I'll try it with something coconutty in a few months :)

As a fan of orange(blossom) I had karma from lush and love don’t be shy from killian and I find this sintra is the most improved high end version of this line :) karma was too medicinal and LDBS was too sweet and see sintra as most balanced one. Love the balance of sweet and woody

This takes everything that I love about Love Dont Be Shy.. the sweet orange blossom and true-marshmallow musk and makes something that lasts even longer and projects even farther. Though, it does neuter the carnal/animal musk that is present in LDBS. Will be full-sizing!

This is a very similar scent to Kilian’s Love Don’t Be Shy but in my opinion it’s more sophisticated, a little heavier on their neroli which I love but is not for everyone. As others have said it leans more green so it’s not as sickly sweet as LDBS

To all South East Asian out there, this smells like MOONCAKE WITH REDBEAN PASTE stuffing. Immediately put a smile on my face and i can't stop sniffing it. I don't care what the notes are any more this is gorgeous and happiness in a bottle!

Just absolutely gorgeous! I find the combination of green and gourmand accords to be gloriously executed. The milk note lends a smooth and dreamy quality that soothes my soul. Performance is stellar. I’m in love.

When I first smelled it from the bottle cap, I disliked it a lot. Now, I got a sample, and on my skin it’s beautiful. It’s soft and sweet, but not too sweet, has a dash of light orange note. Very Memo.

Love this! Because of caramel it is a bit sweeter, richer and less floral than its sisters LDBS and Oriana. Still very flirty and sophisticated. Sintra is my favourite version.

Yes, sharp in the opening (mildly), however the drydown is beautiful. I love LDBS and I also love this! Good to wear when you aren't in the mood for the thickness of LDBS.

Smells like candy, fruit, and green growth. Projection and sillage is strong on me! I also get the marshmallow note! I have gotten many compliments wearing this

Smelled this in a perfume store the other day and died. So good!!!!! green / herbal aspect in here is perfection and the way it blends with caramel is heavenly

This one is so pretty. Perfect Spring or summer scent. I sold my LDBS just a tad too sweet. This one is perfect and prefer it so much more.

Fluffy, milky, nutty marshmallow. Smells like mastic and musk. Very feminine. It's definitely not a strong scent though.

Smells warm and nostalgic. Feels like a comforting signature — cozy and uniquely you, like the perfect familiar hug.
